Reviews for Lough Lannagh Self Catering Cottages
Review 1:House could do with maintenance. Dishwasher and socket at head of bed were broken.
Review 2:Spacious house in nice location by lakeside walk (pity weather was bad but it was November!). Kids book about having fun on a rainy day was a nice touch.
Review 3:From check-in to check-out everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helped in any way they could with our enquiries. Cottages were clean, comfortable and had great facilities! Will definitely be staying again!
Review 4:This is the ideal way to travel as a family. We travelled with 2 other families and rented one of the 4 bedroomed houses. There was plenty of space for everyone and everything you needed for home to home living. It's placed in a very scenic location with a beautiful walkway around Lough Lannagh. There are 2 play parks and a small astro nearby, enough to keep all the kids more than happy. It's set in a peaceful location that is only a short walk from the town centre.
Review 5:Cottages are a tad dated, could do with a upgrade. They are also cold, glad I stayed in the summer, you pay extra for Electric and I am sure this costs loads in the winter! Café was closed the 3 times we wanted to use it! Bring your own travel cot, the ones they have are pretty bad.
Review 6:Large rooms all with ensuite bathrooms. Double and single bed in each room Scones Milk, butter & Jam on arrival The walk round the lake (or bike ride), if you are bringing your kids make sure to bring your bikes. New play park just on the other side of the lake.
Review 7:Showers took a long time to heat up and were only a steady trickle; crockery in the kitchen was a bit haphazard, and the milk jug in the press was actually mouldy
Review 8:Location of the cottages in relation to Castlebar Town; setting next to the lake; and the amount of space in the cottage
Review 9:The only fault I would have was that one lunch we ate in the café and the food was not greatthe chips were burnt and and the sandwiches were very bland and dry the staff was lovely but would not eat at the café again.
Review 10:I went for the easter weekend to lough lannagh cottages and was very happy with everything. The area was lovely with fab walks the kids loved the two local playgrounds. it was quiet at night and was just a lovely place to stay. We usually stay in self catering houses and have to say this was one of the nicest and cleanest places we stayed the rooms was very spacious. We would definitely go back again
Review 11:Lovely locations, staff very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended
Review 12:everthing
Review 13:Excellent Service and Everybody was so Helpful. Cottage was perfect and location Fantastic. I would definitely recommend and will be back. Thank you.
Review 14:Beds and furniture uncomfortable. Bathrooms need up-dating and maintaining. TVs too small and poor quality sound and channel selection. Lighting poor throughout. Strip lighting not working in 2 bathrooms. Extractor fan faulty in bathroom.
Review 15:Cottage spacious. Good sized and well equipped kitchen.
Review 16:The only very very small blip was that the storage heater in one of thebedrooms wasn't working ....unfortunately in our typical Irishspring we still needed it!!! But within ten minutes of me mentioning it,a portable oil heater had been installed.....fantastic!!!
Review 17:I think the spaciousness of the cottage amazed all of us...the size ofthe bedrooms & all with individual bathrooms would be what wouldmake us all come back. The welcome pack of scones, milk & orangejuice was much appreciated. The surrounding area & the way thecottages are spaced out is very welcoming too. It was one of the bestholiday accommodations I have ever stayed in. We loved it!!!
Review 18:Showers were not the greatest. Electricity was extra and quite pricey (not the fault of the resort).
Review 19:The hominess and space. Large rooms - multiple bedrooms and baths. Privacy and lack of noise. Accessabliity to a lake with a great walking path around it. WI-FI connection.
Review 20:There seems to be some miscommunication between Lough Lannagh and Booking.com about the availability of Wi-Fi in the cottages themselves. This is currently NOT available but would be a welcome addition.
Review 21:A group of nine of us used a cottage as a base during a friend's wedding weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful and our cottage was clean and perfectly comfortable - great value for money. The lake nearby makes it a very attractive spot. Apart from the convenience of nearby food shops, there isn't a great deal in Castlebar but lovely Westport is just a quick 15 minute blast up the road.
Review 22:The showers in most of the upstairs rooms didnt work correctly, bit annoying having been out all day
Review 23:For us it was central to where we wanted to travel to, it was roomy for our family to stay and relax in.
Review 24:Really enjoyed our stay here. Travelled with family and lots to see and do. The facilities were brilliant. Really liked the location. Good base to see Mayo.
Review 25:Quite difficult to find as they do not provide postcodes for satnavs.
Review 26:Cottage much larger than I imagined it would be. Fantastic kitchen and the access to the lough was great as it was very close by.
Review 27:The cottage (4 Bed) met all our needs. Friends were staying next door with other children and they had Football area behind cottages which kept them amused for hours. The nearby Playground was a great hit too. The Kitchen was well equiped - and seating was adequate as long as you did not all want to sit down to eat together - some ate in the living room area so this was okay. The bedrooms were large and we had plenty of towels etc.
Review 28:Nothing. Everything was fantastic
Review 29:Large rooms with everything you could need provided.
Review 30:I loved the freedom of the walks around the lake and the countryside also within walking distance of the town
Review 31:Nothing - everything above our expectations.
Review 32:Very well equipped cottages. Great space for a young family.
