Reviews for Lough Lannagh Lodge B&B
Review 1:Accommodation and food were excellent. Attention to detail, cleanliness, helpful friendly staff, the residents kitchen, powerful shower. Spacious well equipped room. Ideal location within walking distance of town but with the luxury of being in a quiet village. I would highly recommend Lough Lannagh Lodge and will definitely return next year.
Review 2:We booked two nights with breakfast my wife took ill on second day we decided to go home she was so ill, I spoke to the receptionist and asked would they refund part of my payment he was not in a position to do a refund, I phoned a week later and spoke to the manager he point blank refused to do anything, as this is a local council owned business one would think he could do something as a goodwill gesture, coming from the hospitality industry myself this type of customers care leaves something to be desired, having been to Castleford before found it to be very welcoming but not on this occasion,
Review 3:Night porter very helpful
Review 4:Room smelled of old cigarette smoke. No tea/coffee facilities in the room.
Review 5:Good value for money. €70 for a room & full Irish breakfast for two (room sleeps 4)
Review 6:Only thing was lighting was a bit low for putting on makeup!
Review 7:Well it was very comfortable and warm nice bed, lovely breakfast friendly and helpful staff definitely will be back !
Review 8:The facilities were everything I could ask for in a B&B, and by far the best yet, especially the guest kitchen, laundry, and dining room. Staff were friendly and helpful all the time. I do not care about things like the view from my window, how runny my egg was, or how hard the mattress was.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:I loved the place especially the lake near the lodge, it's a quite place & relaxing, the staff in the lodge & restaurant is all very kind ,the breakfast is very very good , my children enjoyed our stay & we definitely come back....
Review 11:Stayed here for the Goldwing Treffen. Staff were very helpful, accommodation was beautiful and very spacious. Would highly recommend to all my friends and family
Review 12:Beds not comfortable. Bathroom had no ventilation/extractor fan so full of moisture and mould marks, which made the bedroom area damp also. Hairdryer didn't work. No soap supplied.
Review 13:Staff, location & breakfast
Review 14:Thought there could have been more towels and shower gel. Didn't know if you could go up for more food at breakfast or not.
Review 15:The staff were really good. Overall it was good.
Review 16:I must say there was a little dust on the radiator in oir bathroom
Review 17:We liked the location very much and enjoyed the cycle hire and the ride to the museum and back Would definitely stay there again.
Review 18:Looks a bit dated, but thats it. Didnt affect overall experience
Review 19:Great location. We used it as a base for climbing Croagh Patrick. easy to walk to Castlebar town centre. Guy at reception(owner?) was incredibly nice
Review 20:The place was very run down. Looked like a hostel from the 1950's. Very old fashioned and 'communal'. The bathroom in our room stank of sewage and the ceiling was mouldy. Could really do with modernisation.
Review 21:The staff were brilliant and we got a 38 euro discount on arrival for our stay as we had no children with us and had booked family rooms (was all that was available). Very friendly and accomodating.
Review 22:Staff were amazing, very helpful. Enroute to there, our 19mth old toddler had vomited all over the car, clothes blankets etc so one staff member insisted on doing our laundry-was a great help as we also had our newborn with us! Totally went out of her way! Breakfast was amazing! Fantastic use of the kitchen, having a coffee and turning on the radio whilst sterilising the baby's bottles, Clean towels every morning Couldn't recommend this place enough Will def b back next year Thanks a million for making our stay pleasant!!!
Review 23:I think this is a hostel not a b&b. Could do with revamp(photos on website make it look very nice). Was clean everywhere but lacked comfort.. Rooms small.
Review 24:Near to town 5 minute walk. Reception very helpful.
Review 25:Little far from town but then if you want a holiday camp that won't matter.Thin walls.
Review 26:Staff were very nice, breakfast very good and comfortable stay overall.
Review 27:Wi-Fi not available in bedrooms. Also not readily accessible for the town unless you have a vehicle.
Review 28:Very friendly staff and large bedroom - breakfast was plentiful with plenty of choices. Lannagh Lodge has an excellent range of facilities - for camping, B&B etc.
Review 29:Nothing bad to say really.
Review 30:The staff were lovely and helpful with locating places on the map for us to drive to. You'd need a car to drive to all the scenic spots around mayo but they're all within fair distance from this lodge once you're driving.
Review 31:The 'no frills' touch.. Sorry.
Review 32:Although our family room was very small, it was clean & comfortable. Our initial reaction was that the accommodation was very basic & took me a while to adapt.. Nicola & her sister were very pleasant & helpful, they provided a lovely breakfast. The surroundings were nice & my boys loved the nearby park & Astro pitch.
Review 33:The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spotless so the little outdated decoration could be overlooked and the location was great as its only a short walk to town.
Review 34:I missed the check in restriction, so it was all a bit of a shock. But nothing a glass of wine and a friendly welcome at breakfast the next morning could not make up for. If obly I had been looking to stay in a holiday village.
Review 35:If you come to Lough Lannagh expecting a holiday village with beter than average cottages and a good brekfast - you're at the right place. I was not (big conference in town, so ended up here pure for the location close to the hospital)
Review 36:nothing
Review 37:The whole site was well kept.Staff were friendly. The room was very nice, with a sinle and double bed.Towels supplied plus bathing products. No tea/coffee facilities in room, but kitchen nearby to self-cater,with tea/coffee there. Breakfast good,in large cafe-style space.Nearby lakeside loop walk really lovely. Was within walking distance of Royal theatre.
Review 38:No comment
Review 39:It was quiet i had use of kitchen and coffee the dining room was beautiful for breakfast with handpainted art of Mayo on walls to look at. Staff were lovely, lovely quiet walks and near to Mayo general for me to visit my mum.
Review 40:Path leading to hotel was in total darkness at night. Doesn't feel safe to walk alone. No staff were available when we checked out at 5am.
Review 41:Spacious room. Nice bathroom. Good wi-fi in room. Allowed to check in early.
Review 42:Would have liked tea making facilities in our room though the kitchen staff offered to make one. Not sound proof so corridor noises travelled -of doors opening closing, people talking in the corridor etc.
Review 43:Supberb location close to town and beautiful lake walks. Staff very helpful. Excellent value for money. Very clean.
Review 44:On arrival we were first hit with the smell of deep fat frying. The room itself was beyond disappointing. There was no tea/coffee making facility in the room-you had to go to the communal kitchen if you wanted to make tea. The bathroom was cleanish- the base of our toilet had a massive crack in it. The beds were very uncomfortable. We didn't have the breakfast as we just couldn't wait to leave. I would not recommend this 'lodge' to anyone looking for a relaxing night away.
Review 45:lake walk
Review 46:just little thing, when people above me flushed the toilet, that noise was quite something.tv could be a bit lover on the wall for its size I been staying in number 7(but I didn't use it anyways)
Review 47:rooms are bit stuffy and could do with some new decor
Review 48:close to town nice walk in and the walk around the lake is lovely tennis court is good for children
Review 49:Just the noise of the doors banging but there's not much ya can do about noisy doors!
Review 50:Staff were lovely! Couldn't be more helpful! Our room was huge, spotless clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and included in the price of the room, we could have had as much as we wanted aswel.
Review 51:Lovely, friendly accommodating girl on reception and also very friendly and polite lady serving breakfast on wed 17/9/2014...Thank u & will call again in the future :)
Review 52:Bedrooms, Bathrooms and all over in general to be honest needs refurbishment!! Our Bedroom No. 21 smelled 'old'
Review 53:Staff and location all good. Decent breakfast.
Review 54:Comfortable and clean room. Location just out of town but easy walking distance. Availabilty of Wi fi. Facitlities for cooking if required. Nice brekkie.
Review 55:I was struck very much by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, we needed an early breakfast and they had no problem sorting out. It's a great location lovely quiet grounds the lake but only minutes walk from the centre of Castlebar
Review 56:The staff were great, friendly and upgraded us. The place would be better suited to large groups than single friends travelling together. Wonderful lake to walk around near the accomodation.
Review 57:Could have paid more attention to detail in cleaning. Found cobwebs on window and in room. Also found pubic hair on wall of shower.
Review 58:Staff were excellent, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Loved the many scenic walks and the close proximity to the town of Castlebar. The full kitchen available for guests to bring in their own food and cook was good and we were also given a list of restaurants/ take aways with contact numbers. The young man who checked us in offered to ring any of them if required. We also received a map of the location on arrival and there were many brochures at reception of the attractions in the area and surrounding areas. The guest sitting room and availability of children's toys were good. A very safe environment for children with plenty of space, tennis courts, playground and general play areas.
Review 59:Staff were very Laid back, friendly and nothing was too much bother. Food was home cooked and beautiful. The Lodge was near the town centre and situated near a beautiful lake with many walks nearby. An excellent centre for a great holiday.
Review 60:No tea/coffee in the room (though there is use of a full kitchen including tea/coffee/milk)
Review 61:Helpful staff Good size room (we had a family room) Breakfast Playground and nice walk to the Lough both a couple of minutes away
Review 62:Absolutely amazing and accommodating Staff, they could not have been more helpful. Great value for money. The location was great and satisfied our every need! The Lodge is a short distance by car to Westport which is also a plus. I'd stay here again, no question!
Review 63:No tea making facilities in the bedroom. Only one socket that worked in our room and a little dated throughout if being picky.
Review 64:The location was great and the reception staff and cafe girls were very helpful and very pleasant. The food served was all excellent quality and reasonably priced too if eating in. The rooms were large and the area surrounding the lodge was quiet but within easy walking distance of the town centre and shops. A residents kitchen was also an added bonus if you didn't want to venture out on a night time or for making a pack up during the day. Overall this was a great base to explore county mayo and only half an hour from knock airport in the car. We would return in warmer weather for sure!
Review 65:I didn't like the fact that the room was not cleaned for the three days we spent there. The bathroom had to be cleaned by ourselves.
Review 66:Proximity to the town.
Review 67:decor very dated windows needed a good clean ( loads of cobwebs around outside of windows so didn't want to open them)
Review 68:near town staff very friendly and helpful good value for money
Review 69:We were out late one night and when we returned,we had difficulty opening the side door. We rang the emergency number which went to voicemail. All the Windows in the Lodge needed cleaning. There were cobwebs on the walls. A light fitting in the corridor had been smashed. Whilst it was cheaper than some other properties, I feel that it needs updating and some TCL.
Review 70:The grounds of the Lodge were clean and well looked after. The breakfast was good value.
Review 71:Was further away from village than we thought
Review 72:Very comfortable and homey. Owner was extremely pleasant and helpful. Lots of things to do in surrounding area. Especially loved visiting Cong - location of 'the quiet man' and kids loved westport houseand inishcrone beach
