Reviews for Alexander Beach Hotel & Village
Review 1:the suite was a little bit far from dinning room and I asked for a room near in my booking. I suggest to put on tables toothpicks
Review 2:I liked the hospitality the place' the food and everything in general. The staff and the manager were perfect and helpful
Review 3:This was the 2nd time for us to be here. We had a superior room sea front view. It was better than last time in all aspects. The quality food, the friendly staff, the location, cleanness , all where simply perfect. We would be glad to come again. Off course the review can be less lovely if one choose garden view or without terrace,
Review 4:It costs 50 Euro for a taxi each way to get to/from the Heraklion airport or Port! For a "resort" this size, they should offer shuttle service. Otherwise, the local bus drops you on the main road with no pedestrian walking area and you walk a ways to get to the hotel, once you can find it! I booked a sea view room, was given a ground floor room with sliding glass door entrance that afforded no privacy when curtains were open. The next morning they changed me, but told me they don't book sea view rooms for solo travelers!!! They entered/cleaned my room even though I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign out; I had things out in view that I would not have if I knew they were entering!
Review 5:Staff were great, especially Kostas at the Front Desk who suggested I inquire about purchasing a seat on the TUI tour bus (which I did for 14.50 Euro), and Stephie the Guest Relations person who assigned me a very nice table for dinner (as a solo traveler, I have often gotten less favorable treatment).
Review 6:business center -- only two computers, very slow, could not log onto my email account.
Review 7:Location by the beach; very pleasant and safe (for children) resort; beautiful pool area; friendly and helpful staff; kids' club for our 6 year old child; picturesque setting of hotel; diverse and delicious breakfast buffet.
Review 8:Our suit looked larger on the photos than in reality. We thought our child would be in a separate room/area but it was smaller in real life. More lounge chairs around the pools would be great. They get booked up very quickly in the mornings.
Review 9:Loved the facilities, choice of food for breakfast & dinner. Everything was always very clean. The proximity of all facilities to our room was excellent & the hotel itself is close to shops, cafés etc. Staff were super friendly. Great for kids too. Beach was just a few steps down from our room. Spa & massage also excellent. Loved our stay.
Review 10:Difficulty to find a bed around the pools after 9h, most of them still free but already reserved with towels.
Review 11:Nice location with direct access to the beach. The village is nice looking, well equipped and very clean. Good variety of quality meals at the restaurant.
Review 12:-Our bathroom needed a bit of refurbishment and a deep clean. -Wifi was very slow.
Review 13:-Beautiful beach and swimming pools. -Staff very friendly and helpful. -Quiet areas a really great idea. -Breakfast buffet absolutely fantastic. -Very attractively laid out and landscaped. -Comfortable, spacious room. -Excellent showers. -Restaurants and shops within very easy reach but you didn't feel you were in Malia or Stalis (a very good thing!)
Review 14:Killed 4 cockroaches; Beach chairs never cleaned; Poor room cleaning; Dinner buffet not suited for a 5 star hotel; You have a dress code (wear long pants) for the dinning buffet. Just go to the Meltemi restaurant instead (no dress code). You pay the same, get better served and get better food; Hotel suited for german couples with children only; Staff can barely speak english. Too crowded; Like german mentality you have strict schedules for everything (towel exchage; dining; and even selecting the dining table)... NON EXISTING INTERNET: as they say, you have free wifi (only in the reception area)... but internet itself is so damn slow that you cannot do anything; Children music is so laud in the "bar disco" (to entertain kids) that affects your tranquility over dinner and over a week you get to know it by heart...
Review 15:You feel like in a typical greek village in some parts of the hotel; Food from Meltemi restaurant; Access to the private beach; Nice overall view.
Review 16:Weren't many English people there.
Review 17:The staff were all smiling and cheerful. They couldn't have been more helpful. We had been allocated a wrong room - travelling as mother and son - but when they realised this we were upgraded and shown utmost courtesy.
Review 18:Parking
Review 19:Food and handeling of the place team exelent
Review 20:too soft Bed noise from the upper room
Review 21:the facility breakfast variety dinner choices sea distance
Review 22:I would like to have more choice of small wine bottles .
Review 23:the sea so close to the hotel, and 40m the rooms, nice brekfast very happy waitres.
Review 24:poor internet connection
Review 25:Location perfect with pools and close to the beach
Review 26:No Wi-Fi in rooms and Wi-Fi in reception was poor. It is NOT a 5 star hotel - at best 3.5 star.
Review 27:1st floor apartment with a sea view
Review 28:Some members of stuff were very polite and gentle. However the norm was that they were quite rude and unfriendly. Especially during breakfast. In this hotel you have herds of tourists and they don't look after you as they should in a 5*
Review 29:the room with the sea views are amazing!
Review 30:The bed was way too soft and the rooms could use some updating (would be nice to also have a way to heat water for coffee/tea in the room!). Finally, there are much nicer areas to stay in Crete then Malia... but the hotel is so good it kind of made up for that detail
Review 31:The hotel itself is excellent - very nice and helpful staff, beautiful well kept grounds, good variety of tasty food, wonderful pools, right on an amazing beach. Recommend a sea view room for top enjoyment!
Review 32:Malia is not the best choice as a tourist town, comfortable room but very basic
Review 33:Location, beach, swimming pools, view, very comfortable with kids, food
Review 34:The beds all over the hotel rooms are seperated. There is not even 1room with twin or king size bed. For us it was not comfortable. The foodat dinner: too many vatiaties of food suggestions & not tasty. Thehotel offers some evening during the week a la carte order menu withoutaddition charge but only after 3 days of staying the staff at therestuarant offer it. It was much tasty then the regular food. The chargefor any beverage at dinner is as extra charge for gests that pays halfbord is something that one have to thing about. You cannot get waterwithout extra charge. The mangment should take our remarks about thefood very seriously. Eaven though we will be glad to come again. Weliked the hotel. It was a great vacation.
Review 35:We ordered a superior room which was excellent big and comfort. The viewover the see shore, the voice of the waves, where very relaxing. Theswimming pool and the sea shore is very clean and beutiful. Thehotel's area is very large so we didn't notice there are manypeople until we went to walk all over the resort. The location is great. We traveled very easiely with our rented car to the east & southpart of the island. The staff is vwey helpfull & friendly.
Review 36:The room is not 5 stars at all No internet in the rooms in so called 5stars hotel The parking always full Not on the beach Never back again
Review 37:The food is very good
Review 38:you could get better deal for the value of money food is standard no WiFi in the rooms only about 15 parking lots meals do not include drinks, not even water.
Review 39:nice hotel in good location if you ar looking for shopes and stay outs.
Review 40:the is a dress code on dinner. men should come with long pants.
Review 41:we ordered a superior room which was excellent big and comfort. The swimming pool is very clean and beutiful. The hotel's area is very large so we didn't notice there many people until we went to walk all over the resort. The location is great. on the main street of malia and about 300 meters from the nearby bus station.
Review 42:Always a hassle to get a parking lot for the car within the grounds of the hotel
Review 43:Very friendly and accommodationg Staff throughout. Direct access to beach was great. Spacious room
