Reviews for Drossia Palms Hotel - Apartments

Review 1:There were mosquitoes in the room.

Review 2:very near the beach. Can get a sitting place on the beach without payment. The hotel has its very own car-park. Very convenient. Breakfast was very good.

Review 3:Me (25) and my boyfriend (35) traveled around Crete and decided to stay at Mali on our way to Agios Nicolaus . This was the best choice of the hotel on Crete we made during the stay! It is situated near the beach ( 3 minute walk), where you can use the hotels free sunbeds, while enjoying the music of the bar nearby. Also it is situated close to the Main Street, but because it is secluded you can't hear noise during the night!! The hotel has a wonderful pool area, just check out the photos, sunbeds of different types for everyone. The breakfast is wonderful, eggs, sausages, fruit , cheese, some fresh baking, vegetables, honey, jam. We were full after it! The room was very spacious, and well color designed , big bed with a good mattress , a nice table with chairs inside, a little patio outside in the garden, clean bathroom. The staff was very friendly, every question we had answered very politely and with interest. Lovely choice of hotel !!!

Review 4:Wifi in reception and pool area only.

Review 5:Refresfing pool, amazing staff, nice parking for travelers by car, amazingly clean, spacious rooms, close to sandy beach, free sunbeds in neighbouring beach.

Review 6:The studio rooms are a bit poor with minimal comfort and places for storage. Pool was too small and shalow to swim. Breakfast economic and basic, the quality of the juice and coffee could be improved a lot...

Review 7:Good location, , close to the beach, central, but is was quiet in this very vibrant city. The staff were very fluent and helpful, always trying to help with advice as much as possible. Easy approach to the very beautiful private beach.

Review 8:Step outside the hotel and the local resort is horrible . I was not expecting this and if you are over 30+ and expecting typical greek resort then this is not for you.

Review 9:A very quiet and calm hotel. Friendly staff. Excellent outdoor lounge/bar by pool

Review 10:The wifi signal was weak and slow

Review 11:Great place for relaxing holiday, well furnitured, lovely staff and a beautiful swimming pool surronded by palm trees!

Review 12:there is no wifi in the rooms , only in reception and rooms close to it like ours would get a signal

Review 13:the pool area is amazing and relaxing, many things are provided by the hotel like tanning oil , sun protection creams and beach towels, its walking distance to the beach. breakfast is served in around the pool area. parking is spacious , jazz music was nice too, helpful staff at the reception . location was just perfect , far from the noise. very family friendly which is exactly what we wanted in mail

Review 14:Hotel is very centred. Malia is very a turistic spot. Don't go if you look for an authentic greek experience.

Review 15:Relaxing atmosphere. Very close to the beach. Nice and helpful staff.

Review 16:everthing is good

Review 17:We want to say thanks all the staff of this wonderful hotel for the best holiday. Clean and beautiful rooms ,good location( nearest beach) and always kind personal. We are missing you, Drossia palms hotel. We recommend the restoraun Sophie, the most tasteful place Alexey,Julia and Ivan Lobachev

Review 18:Nothing!

Review 19:Everything! Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Great, friendly staff; fabulous location; excellent value. A wonderful little quiet oasis! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Review 20:Seriously this is an amazing hotel, beautifully decorated, in an amazing location..hidden away like a little gem stone...the furniture, décor ...beautiful.. The room was excellent, comfortable bed, loads of hot water.. And the breakfast..well, I got down early to enjoy the tranquillity of the morning and the food is just divine...loads of choices, cooked, meats & cheeses, yoghurt & fruit, pastries..what's not to like.. Had an amazing 6 days..did not want to leave

Review 21:No wi-fi in rooms, but not a big deal.

Review 22:We love this hotel. It's our second time staying here, and the priceis great for all of the ammenities this hotel offers. Comfortable beds, nicely decorated rooms with balconies, complimentary breakfast buffetthat is delicious and a beautiful pool area with bar. Convenientlocation to the beach and restaurants. It's a nice quiet retreataway from the craziness of Malia tourists from the club scene.

Review 23:Wifi in rooms was a bit slow, Tap water undrinkable so had to buy some bottled water, and only double beds available not twin beds.

Review 24:Perfect quiet location yet so close to strip and beach! Pool so relaxing and pretty plenty of sun loungers and beds - hotel had an agreement with nisos beach to get free sun loungers on the beach too - these were so comfortable and smart. Hotel staff friendly and rooms looked very luxurious. Exceeded all my expectations!

Review 25:Had to go to dentist but the dentist was extremely helpful and reasonably priced! Otherwise nothing.

Review 26:Where does one begin when we could NOT fault the Hotel; the food and in particular the friendliness and helpfulness of ALL the staff. Excellent facilities !! Superb!

Review 27:Breakfast is awesome, the deco is stunning and the staff, being family run are incredible. The bed was huge, and the pool / bar area is lush. Literally couldn't have been happier with the place, absolutely gorgeous :)

Review 28:Kitchen and bathroom was unclean it was superficially cleaned, although bedsheets were clean had bit of perhaps smell of cleaning chemical

Review 29:Nice breakfast, helpful and friendly reception, beautiful bed and room decor

Review 30:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, would definitely visit again. Close to all amenities. Nissos beach bar provides free sinners and umbrellas to Drossia guests at the nearby beach. Lovely pool at the hotel too.

Review 31:I lived in this hotel last year for three weeks, and liked it so much that decided to come back with my mother and sister this year. I have not seen such beauty in any 5-star hotel!! 1. The hotel has a very beautiful territory with a blossoming garden, lots of palms and flowers. A great swimming pool surrounded by beautiful tents, hammocks, sun beds. Tables with fresh flowers. Wonderful design. 2. The hotel has a great restaurant and bar with the best cappuccinos in Crete and very delicious food, we always had lunch there. 3. The room was very beautiful and clean (with everyday cleaning). The bathroom and everything was in great condition. The kitchenette had everything one could need – microwave, stove, teapot, quite spacious refrigerator, all the tableware (very considerately organized). The room had an exit to a lovely patio with a table and chairs for us. 4. The beach is just 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and shops – very convenient. And it was not loud at nights. 5. The hotel is run by a very friendly family. It was as if we came to visit relatives. They helped us with anything we asked. Thanks a lot to Sophia and her mother! The hotel is fabulous. Anytime I’ll go to Greece, I’ll stay with them.

Review 32:The cost of taxi to and from the airport, but I helped the Greek economy.

Review 33:The openness of the lounge to the eating area that surrounded the pool. The palms then surrounded the pool. The location was minutes from the beach and the mother and father many restaurants and shops. However, the owners were so wonderful: both of the Sophias, the mother, father -great.

Review 34:Nothing

Review 35:Stunning quality hotel tucked away at bottom of main strip near beach ,so very quiet ,rooms stunning, pool area immaculate ,staff fantastic and friendly

Review 36:This hotel is very beautiful, stylish, modern, the people are very friendly. This is a small paradise in Malia city! All places with name "Drossia" are stylish and beautiful! 5 min to the sea! also there is a very tasty restaurent in 2 min from the hotel, name is "Drossia restaurant " all meals are very tasty and big:) especially for a women:)) the cocktail bar is fantastic also! I would like to say many thanks to Sophia, Maria, Efrosoniya and Manos!!! thank you for the nice time!!! I will be back for sure!!!

Review 37:the breakfest need improvement almost everything is closed in malia in mid-october, be aware!

Review 38:excellent! quiet, 100 meters from the beach , great stuff located 30 meters from the main street, near all the clubs(but everything was closed in mid-october(

Review 39:THE BEST ACCOMODATION IN MALIA! The staff is very very friendly. The hotel is that beautiful than on the fotos. The lounge and the pool side is really nice and relaxing, it is quiet even at nights (altough it is located next to the Beach road full of party places). It's beach is just a few meters far from the hotel and has the same relaxing style and a nice bar. We loved it :)

Review 40:while we stayed the hotel boiler broke down. he got fixed asap but we had cold shower for 2 nights in a raw. as i know you read this with great attention i have no doubt we will return there as everything else was just perfect and such things happens in any hotel

Review 41:The hotel is in Malia and very close to the beach and the main strip. there is 0 noise from all the bars and clubs so no worries there. the staff is very friendly and gave us great advise about where to travel on the island. the room we had (ground floor) was very big, clean and comfort. the hotel lobby is very nice with lovely atmosphere

Review 42:-old TV (CRT and not Flat) small and have just one channel, the remote didn't work. -The breakfast isn't a buffet, they serve you each morning 2 triangles of cheese and salami,1 piece of tomato, 1 small donuts ,1 spoons of yogurt and some pieces of fruits, 2 pieces of bread, unlimited not fresh Orange juice and coffee or team also unlimited. You cannot ask for anything in addition its the worst breakfast that I eat ever. The shower was without pressure and also during the last night we didn't have a hot water. Impossible drink your drink at the area of the pool. In addition must pay by cash for everything at the bar if you order something

Review 43:Stuff really friendly because it's a family hotel. Excellent Location. 24 hours someone exist from the stuff of the hotel.

Review 44:cleaning, (had to ask for clean towels...) and the floors were not cleaned every day. Would have appreciated a breakfast buffet instead of being served the same breakfast for 10 days.

Review 45:Nice beds, nice pool area, private beach close with free sunbeds, Nice staff but could be more personal. Nice lounge area just a pity that the music didnt work.

Review 46:Bathrooms seemed a bit out of date Smelled like urine even when cleaned Air conditioning was either freezing or off

Review 47:Location Friendly staff Hotel pool area

Review 48:My girlfriend and I stayed here summer 2014. The hotel's location is ideal, literally just off the strip but it doesn't get any of the noise from it. The pool and outdoor bar/lounge area are perfect for relaxing at all times of the day. All of the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Complimentary breakfast was wonderful. The room was simply but but nicely decorated and very comfortable. It was handy to have a fridge for storing water etc. and air con, especially with the heat outside. Overall a very relaxing and romantic hotel in a perfect spot

Review 49:The staff were very friendly I was greeted by name on arrival and treated to a spacious room overlooking the pool. Amazing view from all areas, beautifully furnished and nicely decorated. The hotel is just a stone's throw from the beach. Guests were also given exclusive access to sun loungers at the beach and discounts in one of the local restaurants. Minutes away from all the local clubs, bars and restaurants whilst being quiet and nicely situated. We had an amazing nights sleep each and every night and plan to return to the hotel on our next visit. We had a private safe in our room where we could leave valuables and everything we could need. Amazing hotel 100% recommended!

Review 50:everything really, staff were amazing, owners and staff overall so helpful and entertaining. location was brilliant, so nice the hotel. really good to chill out by the pool and very close to the beach and to the main entertainment area. room facilities were good. highly recommended this hotel.

Review 51:From the hassle and bustle, you walk an alleyway and you're in a middle of an Oasis. The swimming pool, the palm trees, the relaxing background music, the personal touch that you can see in everything, white furniture with Cretan style, the politeness and friendliness of all staff, the genuine intention of every member of this family owned place to make your stay unforgettable. I think this place has all the credits to call it The Drossia Palms Boutique hotel & appts. Thank you All! will come back again.

Review 52:The standard room is below standard, very simple, like in a youth hostel and nothing like the photos in the internet. The shower needs renovation.

Review 53:The location, the lobby and its furnitures, the stuff was very friendly and did everything to satisfy us all the time. The beach of the hotel - Nisos Beach - which is 2 minutes walking, is great and also there the stuff is wonderful. Recommended !!

Review 54:We were in Drossia Palms hotel for 3 nights and we had a great time. I really have to say that hotel staff is very friendly and as there is only over 30 rooms, it is great to place to relax. Room was clean and nice.. We will definitely come back..

Review 55:The hotel is decorated beautifully and the staff including the owner and his wife are warm people. It is perfect for relaxing by the pool and catching up on sleep. It is very short walking distance to the beach and busy streets. Great food and cocktails are served in the open hotel lobby by the pool. Breakfast was also complimentary. All of this was very convenient. Out of respect for the rest of the hotel guests, owners and surrounding hotels, you must be quiet at night. This is not a hotel for those who want a hotel party. This is where you relax and recover. My friends and I were happy with this and hope that we didn't cause too much noise. We were a group in our 20's and 30's looking to relax during the day and go out at night. The rooms were well decorated in a modern style, were spacious and clean. I would stay here again and I highly recommend it to friends! Thank you, Drossia!!

Review 56:Approach road creates awful first impression. Difficult to spot narrow lane entrance. Breakfast buffet would work better than fixed food per table. Bathroom tiny and shower water goes everywhere

Review 57:Somehow the hotel manages to be an oasis of calm and relative peacefulness in a chaotic and seedy town. If you want a nice hotel close to the seafront but also close to the tacky shops and bars of malia then this is a good choice for you. Sister restaurant of the same name close by was superb

Review 58:While the beds are quite comfortable, the rooms feel slightly dated. But well decorated. The town of Malia is really a frenzy for young adults. I would avoid it for young families.

Review 59:The pool and reception area are quite clean and nicely decorated. It is close to beach, walking distance and it is quietly enclosed from the frenzy of Malia and the young tourist crowd. The owners are always on site and are extremely attentive to their guests.

Review 60:received confirmation mail after two reminders. my mail asking for directions and the best way to reach the hotel went unanswered and we ended up using gps and lugging heavy luggage all the way from the bus stop to the hotel on the hottest day in Malia! it sure is walkable but not with luggage...wish I had known! so not a good start there. sophia showed us to our room saying that she put us on the 1st floor to ensure quiet as there were babies on the ground floor and we were happy at her thoughtfulness. We went off to the beach and had a nice day barely spending any time in the room. The next morning while having coffee, we realised there was no place to sit in the room and the balcony was too hot and sunny...did I mention it was the hottest day in Malia? That’s when we realised we had booked a superior studio and were given a standard instead! on checking with sophia, she said she had told us that she was giving us first floor as it was quieter (though we never saw any babies downstairs or anywhere and actually had young kids and teenagers running on the first floor)...felt quite cheated as we had paid for the superior and were given standard as if a favour. Anyway she agreed to give us a superior which wasnt ready...wasted a lot of our time and we had to repack quite a bit as we had unpacked everything since we were staying three nights. She did try to offer us a bigger room (which was also not ready) meant for 4 people consisting of a separate living room, but we didn’t want it as only the cramped bedroom had air condition. Finally we went out and returned to find we were given two beds joined together instead of one big bed as booked, the lock to the garden door broken…just too many things needed fixing! We were on a vacation and not to fix their hotel! The attitude of the staff was very laid back…I understand it’s a beach destination but please they are in the service and hospitality business…!!

Review 61:The garden was very peaceful and tranquil. Rooms were very quiet inspite of being in a party zone. Close to the beach with free sunbeds at nikos.

Review 62:Amazing staff, great location, amazingly clean and very close to sandy beach with free sunbeds for the hotel visitors.

Review 63:Room had odor,

Review 81:Every day the same, monotonous breakfast.

Review 82:Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 83:swimming pool area staff reception, breakfast hall

Review 84:City of Malia is full with drunken Englismen

Review 85:location very good bed nice beach bar

Review 86:we found a huge cockroach in the bathroom tab((( the only nasty thing about the place

Review 87:a really nice small hotel, comfortable, quiet, clean

Review 88:Nothing nice place to relax in a very busy town

Review 89:Very quaint and comfortable community areas

Review 90:The Malia is not good for romantic people who wants find a real greek atmosphere

Review 91:Nice romantic family hotel

Review 92:You can't bring your own alcohol to the pool No wifi in rooms fair breakfast

Review 93:The Pool & Bar

Review 94:We had no wifi at bedroom.

Review 95:Everything was perfect

Review 96:nothing

Review 97:free parking, wifi and breakfast close to beach, many restaurants&bars around the hotel,30-40min to the port

Review 98:breakfast was not good. Too expensive for what it is. Not very nice staff.

Review 99:The Wi-Fi can be only use in the hall.

Review 100:The room design is very beautiful and is very near to the beach.

Review 101:Very comfortable bed + pillow, relaxing night's sleep. Very friendly staff.

Review 102:Great moments, great atmospher, great family :)) looking forward visiting them soon!!!

Review 103:The main street of Malia was very noisy and it was full with crazy people.

Review 104:The room, the pool and it's area was nice. The staff was frendly and helpful.

Review 105:The hotel is located in nice spot far away from the noise of the town( that is a bit loud if you looking for a more quite location, a lot of clubs for people to get out). But hotel itself is located in quite space, they have a private beach 2 minute distance walk with umbrellas on the beach, and also a bar where you can get a nice meal or a drink.

Review 106:Drossia palms hotels-apartments was a beautiful hotel. My friend and I booked for 4 nights and then decided to stay for an other week, we loved it so much. The pool and breakfast area is beautiful, the beach is close with no rocks and beach chairs, the hotel is right behind the main street of Malian but you can not hear the night life when you are in the rooms. It is a family owned hotel and the whole family Is welcoming and lovely. Will definitely be returning

Review 107:Excelent hotel. Fantastic value for money! Great and very sympathicstaff! Nice bar by the pool, not only with good drinks, but also nicefood dishes. Awesome bedroom very clean and beatiful!!! Great loactionfor partying and going to the beach! The best and the cheapest hotel westayed during 20 days of vacations in Europe. Fully recommend it!

Review 108:The room was so basic but fare.

Review 109:Very good location , very nice , friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in the heart of Malia and just 2 minuts walking to beach. Lots of bars , restaurants and night clubs are close to this hotel. The small bar of the hotel serve people till late which is very useful. Desighn of its communal garden was perfect , however the room design was so basic. Totally , we really enjoy staying there. If you have got a restricted budget , I strongly recommend it.

Review 110:We had to spend our first 3 days in Pyrgos hotel, which shocked us on arrival. Although we had a great time (after the early shock) at Pyrgos, we felt like our booking with booking.com was not taken seriously (I even spent an email to Sophia, the hotel manager a few days earlier about our arriving, so that our room is prepared, and she replied that our room is waiting for us). We arrived late at night (10 pm), and the taxi driver took us straight to Pyrgos, which should not happen to travelers in an unkown country, because it's really frightening, regarding the previous arrangement. We were not sure whether the taxi driver is hijacking us, or the hotel manager played a tricked on us... At the end it all turned out ok, everyone tried to please us, but this shocking start was clouding the beginning of our (otherwise great) holiday.

Review 111:We were amazed by the beautiful environment, the pool covered by palm trees and the elegant design of the hotel. The isolated location of the hotel (far from traffic) and the amazing staff made it a real nice place to spend our holiday.

Review 112:the pool wasnt clean. not something you cannot bare, but it could have been nice if the pool hadnt had bugs and leaves...

Review 113:the staff is amazing. the location of the hotel is great because even tough the city malia is really noisy at night, you barely hear anything from the outside, even by sitting at the porch.

Review 114:Rooms for 3 people are in fact too small. no WiFi in rooms. Cleaness is not great which is important for family hotels. in bath only shower available.

Review 115:Very beautiful, romantic and cosy place. Stuff is frendly, helpful and nice people especially Antonio and Laura. No private beach, but sea is near. breakfast is good but it is not varied.

Review 116:beautiful hotel close to beach and to all the clubs but the most important thing for us was the hospitality of the staff especially antonio felt like we are home very worm people we will definitely come back next year thanks for everything guys you made our vacation special!!

Review 117:Old fashion interior, tiny shower, poor kitchen appliances, cheap tv without almost any channels, same poor breakfast every day, wifi only in the lobby, bar content, furnishing not changed despite dirtiness. But still fair for the price.

Review 118:Good location, parking, family owned hotel - personal treatment, very sensitive, friendly, flexible and responsive personnel, Antonio - their barmen, the biggest unique selling point of the place. Recommend to those who look for a small hotel with personal touch.

The Fine Print

Please note that lounge chairs and sun umbrellas on the private beach are available at extra charge.
