Reviews for Synagogue Premium Central Residence
Review 1:It was a bit loud until 1:00 a.m., because other guests listened to some music in one of the other guestrooms.
Review 2:Good Location, just 3 min walk away from Astoria Metro Station, an 10 min. away from central Deak Ter. Lots of bars, cafés and restaurants just around the corner.
Review 3:can improve the cleaness of bed cover, sheets and the pillow...
Review 4:nice staff, good location(near metro and bus lines, a tesco), and provide much useful information in email..and there is a big bus company stop just nearby.
Review 5:Misleading info on Booking, illegally run (it's not listed among theauthorised accommodation of the city). The room was dirty and disgusting. The room does not classify as a private room as you can hear your neighbours perfectly well. So, prepare for sleepless nights! Bathroom lighting did not work, resulting in complete darkness. Contrary to promised, no shared cooking facility available. Staff are unreachable, they don't respond to calls, especially not to complaints. Avoid! Avoid! These guys operate several hostels in town.
Review 6:Location is ok.
Review 7:My room has a transparent curtain, so the workers that were working in the courtyard of the flat could see everything from inside, was really uncomfortable, I had to put the plastic wardrobe between the bed and the curtain so it will avoid a bit that people from outside look in my room. It was too hot in the room and could not control the heating of the room, only open window, which in winter is very cold, so for sleep let the window open, but it was so hot inside that after I got sick because of the difference of temperatures.
Review 8:Just 5 minutes walking from the city center and 1 minute walking from Metro Station Astoria. I took a very nice offer so price was good. The pillow of my room was really comfortable.
Review 9:it was ugliest place I have ever been. heater is not enough to warm the room. door is closed and personnel came later than check in time. when I was there with the family, building was under renovation, that is why entrance was very dirty and smell of paint. noise penetrates in the room from every side . if I knew this, I would not have stay at that place.
Review 10:only location
Review 11:The room was really(!) small, but i suppose there were some bigger ones available. Don't expect you will be able to prepare a decent meal in the kitchen.
Review 12:The location is great and it's good value for the money!
Review 13:It's a very old building, that's being renovated now, so it's quite dirty and not comfortable at all. The room wasn't comfortable as well. It's a cheap hostel (not a hotel !) for budget one-night stays.
Review 14:in the city centre, only 10 minutes walking to the river. Free Wifi, you can park your car for free from 8pm to 8am on the street in front of the hostel. There are also some kitchen facilities.
Review 15:We didn't like the fact that the staff wasn't informed that we had 2 consecutive reservations in the same building, and we had to do extra fairs in order to pay. Other than that, its a very good point to go and stay.
Review 16:Clean place, central location, map of budapest, non stressful check-out.
Review 17:small space. light in toilet wasn't working properly. we were 4 and were given just 1 key for main entrance door.
Review 18:Location is great, access from two parallel streets. Host was great.
Review 19:The staircases you have to pass before the lift are scary, still under construction. Also the breafast is not included, but with this price I cannot ask for more.
Review 20:The location was relatively nice, easy to walk to the tourist attractions. Cozy, and the room is better than it shows in the picture. She who greeted me at the door at night was smiley and kind. Recommendable, especially when considering the price.
Review 21:maybe more cleanliness, and it's better if the staff send the message of indication before the check in and no the same day.
Review 22:the location...it is in the center, the price very low
Review 23:That there is no receptionist and brochure about the city.
Review 24:The location is really convenient. Close to metro, bus stops and even for tourist bus stops. The guy who gives the key is very friendly and nice. Better than a dormitory and the price is very reasonable.
Review 25:you need to meet special arrival requirments of the hostel. if you have late or early arrival - it is not easy to get in.very small room appripriate for overnight stay.
Review 26:very good location and friendly staff. reasonable price.
Review 27:Perfect location, historical type of residence, clean room with private small bathroom, heating, comfortable kitchen with free coffee, refrigerator, very warm host
Review 28:When we contacted with them they let us to stay our luggages at 12 in the day when we will coming. But when we called to them they said that it is not possible only when we check in hotel. If they didnt confirm it earlier we will change our planes, but they confirmed. It is not fault of stuff, but somebody took the keetle to the room and it wasnt be possible to drink a coffee or tea.
Review 29:The room was clear with nice atmosphere and in nice place, really close to metro station, old synagogue and a lot of shops. Wifi was really fast.
Review 30:The entire building was under construction, and as a solo, young female, the building was extremely creepy. I did not feel comfortable in the residence. The "common area" consisted of a few bar chairs in a hallway with an old computer, a dingy (tiny) kitchen and old amenities. I was told there would be a hair dryer in the room, and in fact there was apparently one hair dryer for ALL of the rooms, which was never seen by me (someone was probably keeping it in their own room). There was no social aspect whatsoever to this hostel.
Review 31:The location was close to a bus stop and easily accessible from the airport. The room was relatively clean.
Review 32:really noisy! bring some earplugs with you, than its fine :D bathroom was a little bit small, but ok
Review 33:close to public transport really nice bars nearby very nice personal tidy and neat room perfect for a short trip (stayed 3 nights) in the center of Budapest! really cheap, but altough you get a good room! would recommend this place to friends! ps: our room really looked like on the pics
Review 34:As previous comments have shared, this place is not really clean. And I managed to end up in room nr 1. It has no windows - daylight, fresh air etc. Bed is on half-floor up. One has to climb really narrow ladder. So it is certainly not suitable for people with less than good physical condition. Something I never was warned about.
Review 35:Well, price was good internet working and location good as well.
Review 36:If the towels are changed at least once a week, it would be perfectly all
Review 37:Great location, cozy place Clean, homely rooms that have everything you need for a good holiday. The convenient kitchen, good wi-fi!
Review 38:Thin walls, noise from the street and other rooms , problems with sleeping at night, very small rooms, dirty walls, required phone notification about arival (very problematic thing when you have discharged mobile phone).
Review 39:Location, very close to metro station, pretty good air consitioning in hostel, nice "mood" of tenement house.
Review 40:Air con seemed to struggle on our last night.
Review 41:The location was great for those looking to spend time in District 7, but close enough to links for the rest of the city. Great value for money.
Review 42:It was said that the code would be e-mailed 1 day before on booking.com. But someone had to give us a key and a code. The first time he did not want to come because it was too late and the second time we waited for 50 minutes
Review 43:The room was not cleaned when we arrived. That would not be such a problem but it wasn't properly cleaned after we got back to the room.
Review 44:Person that let us in was very kind and helpful.
Review 45:- the shower is very low - the walls are thin (noise)
Review 46:- very good location - cheap - perfect place, when you want to visit Budapest and you are just looking for a small room where you can sleep
Review 47:Thin walls - you can hear everybody - its a bit disturbing in case of a family with kids living next door...
Review 48:The lady who let us in was delightfully nice - although we arrived in the middle of the night due to delayed flight, she was extremely welcoming and waited for us to arrive. Nice and clean rooms, very good location.
Review 49:-mattress very thin, dont throw yourself on it because you will hit the frame underneath -bathroom too small, wash basin ridiculously small you cannot brush your teeth/wash face without spilling water everywhere (not kidding) - a bit dusty
Review 50:-very good location, central, with lots of shops and stores nearby (some 24/7), near the grand synagogue, and a famous ruin bar Szimpla, as well as a metro station - although in a central and lively area, inside the apartment was quiet and we could get undisturbed sleep -good security system -could check in early if room was ready -budget prices
Review 51:Not clean at all...the kitchen... disgusting! And what's the point of having privet toilet if it's so dirty? nothing special in general...
Review 52:The temperature was perfect. It was quite. The area was more or less good.
Review 53:Only one proxy (key) for entering in the building. When you enter the building, everywhere else you can access by code.
Review 54:Location of the hostel and Free WiFi.
Review 55:Smallest room I've ever seen, quite dirty, not really friendly welcoming lady. Choose hostels with 24/7 desk service!
Review 56:Great location, private bathroom
Review 57:Probably not the most comfortable bed I ever slept in but I was only there for a few hours as I had an early flight from Budapest airport. Hard to complain about anything when its so cheap though
Review 58:Very secure and a good location in central budapest. Wifi was very good and staff very friendly and helpful. There is no reception but lady in charge is very nice. Very cheap and excellent value considering this apartment slept 3-4 people, Apartment had cooking facilities, iron, ironing board, computer etc
Review 59:We would have loved it morr if we could have checkin earlier than 3pm.
Review 60:The room was everything we needed for a 3 nights stay. Really great locations, lots of bars and restaurants closer, also the trainstation was really close.
Review 61:The lack of bed linen for upstairs.
Review 62:We liked the location and the friendliness of staff. Good technical endowment of shared kitchen. Wireless and free use of the computer.
Review 63:The room was as small as can be, and the bed was springy and uncomfortable. You also noticed that below the bed, there was a layer of dust which worsened the air in the small room. It was incredibly easy to hear every detail of the fellow travellers in the other rooms. The common area felt dirty and wasn't sufficially equipped for any comfortable cooking or even sitting.
Review 64:The location was perfect, close to absolutely everything worthwhile on the Pest-side. The neighbourhood felt safe and the area was easily navigated. We were also allowed to check in several hours before their advised check-in time.
Review 65:Rooms are small, not to mention bathrooms. The facility called kitchen really cannot be called this way.it has fridge and microwave but really not much place where you can have breakfast
Review 66:We likedd the location of the place.
Review 67:1) On the photo it was nice room with wondow. Realy it was another room, without any window and very bad smell of toilet room.2) The size of room at about 1.5 x 1.5 m + bathroom. The bed was situated on the "second floor". "Second floor" is a little peace of space. I was after syrgery on my leg, so it was not suitable for me to use verticle ladder. And there is NOTHING about this in the description. 3) It seems that they have never had bank account, so you are not able to pay by card (on the booking.com they say that you are able). 4) Thing tha you will not read on the website: - "Our policy allows to check in ONLY between 3pm and 10pm. If you arrive later than 10pm, we have to charge you a penalty of 10 EUR extra above your bill. Upon departure, you will have to leave your room at least at 11am. If you don’t leave until this time, we have to charge you a penalty of 40 EUR extra." - "Please call our colleague approximately half an hour before your arrival. She or he will let you in the hostel and give you your code." - "Paying for the room: upon arrival. Due to a maintenance in our bank system, we currently cannot accept credit card, only cash.."
Review 68:1) Nice woman on the "reception".2) Location. 3) Period house
Review 69:The pipes from the bathroom sink were in the way of your knees when using the toilet.
Review 70:Comfortable single room, strong wifi, and comfortable pillows and bed
Review 71:i decided to pay in HUF (that's what i had) rather than euros, and ended up paying around 30 euros more than I should have had had i paid in euros because they used a totally arbitrary currency change value and refuse to use the one of the day. i stayed in the budget room, which has a mattress with a terrible hole in it, plus no windows. it is also directly facing the "kitchen" area, so it can get really noisy (walls and door are really thin)
Review 72:excellent location
Review 73:Floor and bathroom dirty. Cleaned it myself to be able to walk around in socks and bare feet! In need of some fixing up, holes in the wall, shutter over windows not closing properly. No real communal kitchen, just a kettle and microwave in the entrance way to the apartment. Walls and door very thin so woken each night by others coming back in the early hours.
Review 74:Location is fantastic. Walking distance to the centre of Budapest, cafes and shops very close to the entrance. Metro stop a couple of minutes walk away. The building itself was fine and secure . Free wifi was a bonus.
Review 75:They charged 30% more then the booking price was on booking.com in euros. If I'd payed in forints it'd be just even 10% more. the rooms are incredible small
Review 76:Location
Review 77:No room service, not even new toilet paper which we've had to buy for ourselves. Smoking is permitted in corridors and rooms.
Review 78:The room has a double window, which is good for keeping heat and quiet. Water in the shower is always warm...Free wifi!
Review 79:We were welcomed very warmly, explained what are the rules and how to live there and that was all. We've got the place for us. The Hostel is in great location, very close to the Danube river, the building of Parliement and lots of other tourist attractions. The rooms were very small, but cosy and clean. There is just enough room for getting ready for sightseeing, taking a shower after long day and sleeping. We are highly recommend this place for everybody who don't need any additional facilities.
Review 80:Rooms are not soundproof. Seems like walls are made of paper and it's possible to hear every noise from another rooms.
Review 81:Location, just in centre. Price.
Review 82:There is no recepcion, so you have to inform the exact time of your arrival for the owner to wait for yoy. Otherwise, you have to call
Review 83:Calm, clean, cheap
Review 84:Really good bargain, rooms are small, but very clean and heating is just right. Location is great, everything is close, and code system for a door is efficient. We really had great experience.
Review 85:this residence were really cool except narrow walls that couldn't isolate noise and the lack of reception you have to inform the staff before arrival time
Review 86:it was so strange to accomodate in such a place because the ceiling was so high from the floor and the bed was in a high place, as well that was enjoyable for us.
Review 87:When we arrived we wanted to enter the room at times (had to pay 10 euros extra for unusual hours check-in) was no one waiting us in apartment and we had to ask the street passes to call. Unwelcome reservation here, because they do not respect the people who order foremost rooms. The room was dirty and smelled of cigarettes.
Review 88:Low price, but the ratio accordingly.
Review 89:There was not hair drier and home shoes at the room. Credit card was not acceptable. Booking.com says all of them available!
Review 90:location, wifi, cost/benefit, clean.
Review 91:The walls are too thin so it can be noisy if your neighbors are ill-mannered people
Review 92:Very good location, close to the metro station and to all sights in Pest. Appartments are on the fourth floor of the wonderful old dwelling house with inner court and galleries. Room was small but good enough, there were WC and a shower in it.
Review 93:The door to the room didn't lock! It was very noisy, the walls are really thin so we could hear entire conversations from the surrounding rooms. The bathroom wasn't particularly clean. We rebooked for an extra night and had some trouble with payment. Normally the person comes to meet you when you check in for the payment but upon booking again they wanted us to go to some office even after telling us they would come as soon as we got back to the building.
Review 94:The price and location were excellent. There was no problem with the conversion from EUR to HUF (we paid in ft, but their account is in euros) as we were worried about from previous reviews. It was nice and warm, hot water was good, and there are facilities for making coffee, toast etc. There us an elevator!
Review 95:Such a lovely old building but with a modern, clean and comfortable room. Common area/kitchen had everything we needed including a computer free to use. Location is excellent, you can walk to a lot of key places and a metro line is just up the road.
Review 96:Rooms really narrow, too hot in the room but our major concern was due to the noise of the other guests, and , as no staff is present , we could not claim
Review 97:wifi was available, the location was good.
Review 98:Once you book the room, they send you an email with the hostel rules, such as: - You can't pay with credit card, although they say the opposite on the website... - You must pay in euros, otherwise they use their own change rate (and you don't want that). - The check-in is between 3pm and 10pm; after that, they charge you 10 extra euros. - There isn't any reception desk, and you have to call the hostel 30min before you arrive so they can give you the key. Also, we spent there three days, and nobody came to clean the room, so I guess they only clean after you check out.
Review 99:Really good location, and really good price. The rooms are very very very small, but you're not going to Budapest to stay in the room, so it's OK.
Review 100:Motor (or ventilation) was buzzing at all times. Hard to sleep. It makes a headache.
Review 101:Clear, great location, good building. close to metro station & city centre.
Review 102:Coming from Switzerland, I withdrew Forints (the local currency) to be able to pay the rooms (cash of course, since they don't accept credit card). The renter asked me euros (!), and since I had only Forints, he exchanged them at a very bad rate for me, which was very surprising to me. Also, when you book, you receive a long and unfriendly email telling you every rules of the renting. Including the check in at 3pm. They expect you to call them 30 minutes before meeting date. I sent them an email saying I will be there at 3pm, but they still asked me to confirm by phone at 2:30pm, which I did /and of course line was busy at this time). They finally arrived at 3:15. Not very customer friendly. The place was very tiny, not clean at all, and very noisy. The mattress was very uncomfortable. 2 beds in the room, but they only prepared one since I was travelling alone (price was for 4 people). Also, they give you a chip to open front door. The staff member assured me it will work perfectly. One night the front door was locked and I was not able to enter. I suddenly remembered there was another door on the opposite side, and I managed to enter the building. I went to many places in Budapest. Some were crazy good deals. This one is to be avoided.
Review 103:Only the location. Very central in Budapest.
Review 104:walls are thin - you can hear each time a guest comes, goes, plays music, or slams a door. Many of the guests were noisy at late hours of the night (coming and going from the local bars??).
Review 105:location - w/in walking distance to all major sites price - great wifi - good bandwidth most the time kitchenette in common area - has dishes, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster
Review 106:Bed a little uncomfortable. Was not possible manage personally the temperature of the room.
Review 107:Exceptional location in the center of Budapest, at affordable prices. Staff very polite and helpful.
Review 108:Late check in 15:00, absence of the sower hanger. And just a tip: there is no reception, so U should call or sms to the girl to come and give U keys. (a phone number will be mentioned in the booking confirmation)
Review 109:Stayed here second time. Definitely come back again. Close to the center, and a metro is the couple of steps to get. Clean, very soft beds to chill out after parties.
Review 110:room was smaaaaal 1.5m2 2 floors you can ever open your bag inside. my room was the first room from the entrance and thats makes a bigger problem caused so many young Drunkers is late night with huge noise and bad attitude. but to be honest when I emailed the owners about this problem. they talk to them and that problem fixed
Review 111:place value
Review 112:Very small room Opening at the bottom of doors makes sounds from inside and outside audible to all guests Late check in time starting at 3pm
Review 113:Good location Attached bathroom Clean
Review 114:There were construction going on in the building so the stairwell were dirty. The rooms aren't well soundproofed. The room was a little cold at night for my liking. Cleaning was good. Under the bed should have been much better vacuumed though.
Review 115:Location was very good. Basic but reasonably good rooms.
Review 116:thin walls? but no one was loud
Review 117:nice clean room, little bit small but it was enough. great location - in center really nice building. wifi connection really good .
Review 118:Thin walls - very noisy (if you are not lucky with neighbors). Accept only cash (euro or forints). Because of noise, size and not convenient timetable (check-in after 15:00, check-out before 11:00) could recommend only for a short stay (1-3 nights), not with children. If you stay longer it is better to rent a flat or something else.
Review 119:Very helpful personal despite not having reception. Great location and the antique building. Room entrance by code. Clean and have all necessary things. The room (№8 for two persons) is very small but independent and have their own toilet and shower. Good wifi. Cheap price (27 euro for 2 persons for night).
Review 120:Everything, starting from: 1. The rooms are incredibly small, you literally open the door and step on your mattress... 2. The bathroom/toilette was badly smelling... 3. No soup/toiletries available 4. Despite the nice marketing of "free WiFi" available on that day I did not have ANY wifi available due to "some problems"...and i badly needed it... This was definitely the WORST place I've ever seen in my life...
Review 121:ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!
Review 122:1. No air conditioning 2. No permanent reception, so it may be tricky to phone them and arrange the keys (+roaming charge).
Review 123:1. Premium location for tourists, just 5 min from Astoria metro station. Last floor, but with an elevator. 2. Rather quiet, as our room has windows to the sidestreet 3. Communal fridge and kitchen 4. Best value for money ever.
Review 124:Thousands of hairs on bedsheets and floor: they clearly wash sheets inside out so all hair from guests stays inside on the textile. Uncomfortable microscopic bathroom sink Cheap backbreaking mattress Mind you: city tax is added to your bill, read the smallprint in your email! Bathroom as a while is smaller than a toilet. No bathmat either.
Review 125:Location Privacy Some other rooms we noticed werent so small but we dont know what are the chances of getting them. We got a tiny prison cell like room. Noisy street outside cos of pub/hostel outside
Review 126:My missus was pissed that there was lots of hair left in the shower from the last group but maybe as we checked in early, they did a quick clean and missed a few things?
Review 127:It was good enough for what we paid. Quiet and a big enough room for a few days. Simple.
Review 128:The room was never cleaned after the previous guest. Sock on the floor n' bathroom full of hair. Although we left a note(no reception ever - we only saw sm from the hotel when we paid), we were ingnored. The room was never cleaned actually! No toiletries. Not enough towels which were also never changed. Central airconditioning. Our room happened to be under it and we froze.
Review 129:Not a bad location. Near city centre.
Review 130:In the bathroom bulb switched off every ten minutes. Rooms are very small but it's ok for that price.
Review 131:Hotel is near to the city center. From hotel to the castle is only 25 minutes by feet. We stayed here with my mother and she liked it. There is microwave, kettle, fridge. You could do the breakfast and that's great! I stayed here three times and hadn't problem. Hotel is in the beautiful old building and there is a full feeling of old town.
Review 132:1. NO reception available 24/7. 2. Check-in is only from 15:00 to 22:00. If you don't check-in within these times, you have to pay an extra 10EUR which is not reasonable and i think is a form of extortion. It is not our fault that you do not have a 24/7 reception and it is not our fault that our plane arrives at 00:30, so why would we pay for something that is totally not our fault? It is your responsibility to check us in no matter what time we arrive. And we have to spend roaming charges on our phone because we need to call the receptionist to let us in. 3. The mattress is quite uncomfortable and so are the pillows. 4. Very noisy hostels across the street partying all night.
Review 133:good location, easy to find and very near astoria stop of our HOHO bus. walking distance to most tourist attractions within the city.
Review 134:Perfect location - near Deak ter, buses and tram and metro at hand. Loved the working strong wifi. Every basic necessity covered - clean and simple. Beautiful old, a little worn house with romantic atmosphere.
Review 135:They do not have a desk so you really have to coordinate well with the staff to get your key.
Review 136:Is really in an amazing position. you can walk into the bars/restaurants area. You have a metro nearby.
Review 137:the room had no windows!!! would have been nice to know in advance (no fresh air, absolute darkness when lights off)
Review 138:located in the center, good connections
Review 139:Could be possibly more confortable with more than one peg... But with only one I could manage also ;-)
Review 140:Could hardly be better. Price is honnest for a quite good quality. No way to complain. So far I consider I will remain faithful to this agency for my future trips to Budapest and incent other people to rely on it.
Review 141:Extremely small room
Review 142:Perfect location. Very good price
Review 143:The location was really good ! Very low price Charming building Lots of character
