Reviews for Petros Place Hotel
Review 1:Although we were upgraded to a studio, we found that the stairs to the bed room and the bed itself uncomfortable. ( we didn't like to ask for a different room because they so thoughtfully upgraded us on arrival! ) This type of studio is not suitable for children.
Review 2:Lovely people and the courtyard where you have good breakfast is delightful. The family are very welcoming and helpful. The pool is very nice but unfortunately the bar wasn't open at all.
Review 3:The rooms were very cramped and stuffy, even though we had a 2 person studio we felt on top of eachother- I would recommend requesting not to get the one with the bed upstairs, it is a nightmare to sleep in, no air. The bed linen is also very low quality and not comfortable.
Review 4:The pool and pool bar were the highlight of our stay! The balcony in our room was also nice. The location was good, away from the loud party areas but still quiet accesible and the bus service was amazing
Review 5:Lack of cooking implements.
Review 6:Friendly people, great mohitos extra cold mythos on tap. Quirky interior and sympathetic conversion of old building into accomadation. Close to port and beach.
Review 7:The only thing that clouded my experience was when I asked Flora the owners daughter for extra pillows to elevate my sprained ankle. Instead of helping, she argued extensively telling me that I should have gone to the hospital. I left frustrated with the lack of support or compassion. Extra pillows are a basic hotel need especially in a crisis situation.
Review 8:This hotel was a stunning value! Dimitris, the owner's son, is known around the island for his incredible transformation of what was a 100 year old farmhouse. He's whitewashed the entire place with curved walls and wooden beams in what are called cave rooms. Such a great esthetic! I was very pleased with the vibe and was immediately introduced to the entire family and their friends at the bar. Flora was serving up drinks and they had excellent jazz music playing. The pool was just as lovely and it created exactly the ambiance I was looking for. Cool young guests etc. and I intuitively found the hotel about 5 minutes walk away from the port. I personally fell down the ancient steps down from Hora at night and severely sprained my ankle which changed my entire vacation. However, Popi the owner, was kind and checked in on me often. Her husband Petros even went to the pharmacy to pick up crutches and medicine. I spent the rest of my few days their infirmed but comfortable.
Review 9:The Hotel including the pool area were really beautiful. We got a double studio which was just perfect. I would def go there again. The stuff were the most friendly people on our trip so far. Always helping and caring. You should really think about which room you get. Of course the standard rooms are not as cosy and nice as the studios but therefor you pay less money. So all in all it's still fair.
Review 10:This place is a Gem! The studio room we had was big with a super comfy bed. For the price especially, it's amazing. The pool is amazing as well!!
Review 11:I loved the place, the room, the people. Dimitris and his parents really made me feel like home, even better if possible! They have been able to wisely melt the cycladic tradition with the shabby chic style! Great breakfast, everything homemade, perfect cleanliness! The position also is perfect, a few steps out of the port and the nearest beach, and few minutes away from the Chora... I felt in love with this marvellous island! I'll be back for sure!
Review 12:Breakfast is poor and does not reflect the great value of the hotel, that's the only let down.
Review 13:Lovely hotel and good location, very nice and helpfull owners.
Review 14:The breakfast was a bit disappointing but that's it
Review 15:The rooms were beautifully decorated.. the staff were beatiful and the pool area was also fantastic!! Would definitely stay at this place again and recommend it to others! !
Review 16:The staff are very friendly, the pool is amazing and a good way to relax after a long day out and about. The room was small but comfortable enough for us (2 women).
Review 17:Couple of things: 1) Wifi was not working fast and proper. I even could hardly manage to send pictures via whatsup. Sending a video was practically impossible. 2) Pressure in the shower was very low. 3) Be careful while selecting your room. Pictures are for traditional rooms for which you have to pay more. If you do not specifically select traditional room option, they give you the standard one with ugly green stuff.
Review 18:Petros Place is a perfect place to stay in IOS island. The location is perfect, just 5 minute walking distance from the port where you land to the island. It is owned by a local lovely family. The stuff is very friendly, rooms are clean. Breakfast is delicious. Swimming pool area worth to spend your time, a good choice while you are tired of visiting different beaches in the island. Upper rooms have giant terraces which increases your room experience.
Review 19:- The breakfast buffet was a nice selection but could have had a bit of a bigger choice, such as fresh fruit + vegetables and maybe a juice with more fruit and less sugar content - but this is obviously also a matter of personal taste. - Shampoo and especially shower gel would have been useful but luckily there is a supermarket close by.
Review 20:We loved our stay here! - Amazingly friendly staff, comfortable and nice room with a personal touch, beautiful setting (especially the pool area). - At the pool bar, they have a hand full of tasty dishes and fresh fruit juices. Especially the home-made burger is amazing. - Also the location is good. We were off season so there was not that much party going on but there are still enough bars and good restaurants in close walking distance. The beach is only about 5min away and thereby close enough for e.g. a morning dip before breakfast.
Review 21:Very charming hotel, with great facilities and excellent location, comfortable room, very friendly staff who was also very helpful with organising our stay on the island. When we arrived, we got a very small room and without windows (unlike the one advertised-traditional room), but the owner kindly offered to give us another room which was lovely, charming, spacious, light and very comfortable.
Review 22:Very nice room cycladic style...clean pool and uce chill out music...simple and good food for breakfast..location close to the port and to the rental facilities...very helpful staff.
Review 23:The staff were only average. Clearly seemed like it was a money making operation excluding the lovely lady at the bar.
Review 24:The pool was great and the rooms were lovely
Review 25:The bed was extremely uncomfortable the rooms were very basic and nothing like the pictures that were shown on booking site so this was disappointing
Review 26:The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pool area was excellent
Review 27:Nothing it was wonderful
Review 28:Our first stop on our honeymoon was the best because of petrol place! After a long 2 days of travel petro and his wife were more than accommodating. Location walking distance to beaches and amazing restaurants!
Review 29:just the wifi connection not that strong.
Review 30:Location of the hotel is very near to the harbor with a 5mins walking distance. There are carrefour , car rental and restaurant nearby, everything is so convenient. Due to our late arrival, the daughter of hotel owner waited for us for quite long time. She offered us 2 rooms to choose. We were very pleased that we have a great stay at this hotel. The breakfast are awesome too. Everything in IOS and Petros Place are satisfied.
Review 31:The music playing around the pool all day and night got a bit irritating even though it was not boom boom music. The fact that no fresh fruit was on offer for breakfast. The fact that when I arrived on the last ferry as I had advised there was nothing to direct me to anyone to let me into my room. Another guest had to come out to help me when she heard how distraught I was. Eventually I was guided to the pool bar. The girl did not have enough time to acquaint me with the workings of the room.
Review 32:The location close to the bay and harbour. The character of the rooms. The owners were pleasant.
Review 33:Be prepared for some over exited young people. They were having a ball and it was their holiday too. I survived... There was no kettle in my room but I got used to it...not the end of the world.
Review 34:On foot 5mins from port no need to worry about transfer. Well cared for rooms and suites and cleaned each day and outer areas well cared for. Location great for bus, port and car hire. Sprinkling of tavenas, bars and good bakery. Would use this accomadation again for sure. It seems they only serve a breakfast and is eaten in a lovely courtyard area.
Review 35:Family run hotel 5 minutes walk from ferry. Imaginatively renovated room in ancient stone building. Lovely pool area, great for kids. Most helpful owners
Review 36:this island is better than santorini if u need rest and beautiful sea without pay big prices and in peace. this hotel is also great choose for these points. friendly and rooms has got nice architecture.
Review 37:nothing
Review 38:Very friendly personnel! The rooms were clean, had everything and the big balcony was great! The swimming-pool was nice and the sea is just around the corner! Just know that this hotel is in the port and not in the main city (which was a plus for us)
Review 39:When we arrived the first impression of the place was good it looked clean, when we went to our room it was very basic and outdated but this was ok as it looked clean. We then went into the bathroom.. you couldn't swing a cat in this one! The door had a window on it, the shower curtain was filthy and the shower was covered in lime scale, a wire was hanging from the wall and the walls covered in some sort of white residue. We only had to stay for three nights so I just sucked it up as one locals commented that this was one of the best hotels so I can imagine what the other places are like on the island. During our stay we developed tiny bites on our legs I knew this wasn't mosquito bites as I had some already.. when we went to the next island we still had them so went to a doctor he then confirm we had bed bug bites!!! I was so disappointed because we did do the research on the hotel before we booked and we didn't find any bad ones.. Maybe other travellers had better room but I wouldn't be going back to this place.
Review 40:The owner was very friendly and the hotel looked nice from the outside but other than that I'm afraid I've nothing else positive to say about Petros Place
Review 41:The room was clean and very spacious! The hotel itself was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. Situated only minutes from the port and a beach! Highly recommended!!
Review 42:Nothing. All good.
Review 43:Had a lovely time here. Friendly helpful staff, lovely quirky rooms, spotlessly clean, good sized and immaculately tended pool, handy but quiet location, highly recommended.
Review 44:Location was walking distance to the main port. Hotel has a beautiful pool and bar area. Rooms are cave style, simple, but has everything you need. Staff could not be friendlier, so kind and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 45:This hotel has everything you need, beautifully designed and presented with great flair. Close to the port (walking distance from the ferry), it gives you a choice of swimming off the main beach or in the beautiful pool (with pool bar). The owners, Poppi and Petros, couldn't be kinder or more helpful. A real find.
Review 46:It was all good - fantastic value for money.
Review 47:The staff are incredibly welcoming. The pool facilities are lovely and the ambiance at the pool bar is great. Lovely music and fantastic mohitos. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the rooms and would recommend this hotel to young and old alike.
Review 48:Poor breakfast that we paid 5€ per person a day, expensive for what you get. Dark room, no window.
Review 49:The room's style is nice however I didn't like the fact that the room has no windows, not even in the bathroom. It felt like we were sleeping in a cave and it was not nice. Apart from the fact, it was also very dark. The pool is very nice and the staff is very friendly. I should come back but wouldn't stay at the same room.
Review 50:It is such a cute and comfortable place to stay!! The pool is big and deep, the room was perfect and clean and the staff were helpful and charming! It was close to the port and a short bus ride to the popular beach and/or the town! My sister and I are definitely going to come back and stay here! It was so laid back and relaxing!
Review 51:The photos are quite deceiving. On arrival we were told that we are staying in Yialos Beach hotel when we booked for Petros Place. The room looked nothing like the photos did, but otherwise it was extremely clean and comfortable.
Review 52:The hotel was really easy to locate and placed beside the port. The staff were quite friendly and would ask you about your day.
Review 53:Highly recommended! The family - Petros, Popi, Flora, and Dimitri make you feel welcome and part of the family the moment you arrive. Location is great - less than 5 minute walk from the Port and 1 minute walk from the Bus Stop where the busses take you all over the island. The Premium Rooms are uniquely decorated. They have an interesting warm, cave-dwelling feeling to them unlike any I've ever experienced. Flora and Dimitri do a great job working the bar, which is full equipped with a kitchen, spirits, daiquiris, and pina coladas.
Review 54:The island wan't for us. We were two girls, 32 years old. The island is full of high school leavers who go out at 11pm ish and don't come home until 6am! We preferred Mykonos. Where we did go out at 11pm, but with people our age! But Ios is beautiful so definitely visit if you're a wild child!
Review 55:The location and facilities are brilliant. We stayed in the new buildings which are lovely. Definitely visit Mangarani Beach a must! ( not sure if I've spelt it properly)
Review 56:The place wasn't overly clean and staff were not helpful and were ignorant. All noise had to stop at half 11 which wasn't ideal for us who only went out at 12.
Review 57:Facilities were excellent, lovely pool area and rooms.
Review 58:Opening ours swimming pool (Closed in the evening). Sober (but acceptible breakfest).
Review 59:Perfect located nearby the port (3 minutes). Easy for one night stop. Verry beautifull architecture and distinguest design. Ambicious helpfull hospitality. Big nice swimming pool. I will advice this location to all my friends.
Review 60:Upon arrival we were not given the room we booked. We were given two double rooms, split up as a group, and the rooms were not to standard. Once we were moved to our room on the LAST night of our stay it was fine. But for this reason I wouldn't stay here again. It is also NOT in ios town.
Review 61:Excellent location near town centre. Very nice and helpful staff. Clean and well appointed rooms.Definitely would recommend going to Petros Place Hotel.
Review 62:The hotel facilities were ideal, in fact they were so nice it was hard to leave. The staff were amazing in particular, Flora worked tirelessly the entire time we stayed at Petros' to ensure our stay was the most enjoyable. I couldn't recommend Petros' place more highly. Will be back for sure.
Review 63:Leaving!
Review 64:Such an adorable hotel, was only a 1-2 minute walk from the port withour bags and a 10min walk to the town (20mins if not in comfortableshoes and hot day with stops) but the view is beautiful along the cobblestones. You can also take the bus right outside the hotel into town orto the main beach. We loved the room and pool area was a fantasticexperience which felt very european/greek and overall great holidayfeel. The bar by the pool is a great setting and the family who owns thehotel was just amazing in welcoming us and with their excellenthospitality! Thank-you to the daughter of the owners who made us someamazing Pina Colada's at the bar :) We did not want to leave :( Willdefinitely stay here again!
Review 65:This place became our home whilst in ios. Really miss the friendly atmosphere, the bar & pool but most of all flora! That girl made you feel so welcome we never wanted to leave! Can't wait to go back! By the way! The banana daiquiris are to die for!
Review 66:I had to leave
Review 67:From the moment I got to this place, I was astounded at the friendliness of the lovely family that run it. The accommodation was second to none, and the food in the front bar remarkable for in house.
Review 68:Wifi was average and didn't work in the room due to the to the thick walls.
Review 69:We stayed in both a studio room and deluxe double. The rooms were impeccably decorated, they were stunning! Comfy beds, aircon etc. location walking distance to resteraunts, shops, port and beach and a short trip to town. Would highly recommend and will be back!
Review 70:Wifi connection a bit iffy, but that's a Greek thing.
Review 71:Gorgeous swimming pool and spacious, beautifully decorated rooms. Amazing staff! Location right by the port and bus-stop to town is a few meters away - seriously convenient, but quite far from the 'party' beaches.
Review 72:Bathroom too small; you had to step in shower to be able to close the door
Review 73:Breakfast buffet was excellent; staff wonderful, pool area superb and rate reasonable.
Review 74:A few more sun shades around the pool would be nice.
Review 75:Superb location close to the beach and port, the bus to the village stops 20 metres from the hotel. The owners and staff are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and are cleaned daily. We had a wonderful 2 weeks and will certainly consider returning to Ios.
Review 76:Should improve breakfast selection, it's only €5 though. A fewplaces around with beautiful food, so didn't have problem withthat at all.
Review 77:Beautifully restored old building, family got a European grant &have been working meticulously restoring it. Very nice familyatmosphere, great value for money. Perfect pool, a minute walk away fromthe beach, very close town where you can get by bus for €1.60, bus stopjust 30sec away. Walking distance from the port, walked with 2 bigsuitcases:)
Review 78:Friendly and helpful staff Beautiful pool and surrounding gardens Excellent food and amazing cocktails Comfortable and clean rooms Relaxed and chilled out atmosphere
Review 79:It is on the other side of the island from where the main beach club is.. But the stop is right out the front so it is very easy to get there
Review 80:The staff, the food, the pool area.. Can't stress enough how friendly and welcoming they are. I stayed and drank with them most night before I went out.
Review 81:*no blankets, only sheets *no working wifi in rooms *rude staff at certain times
Review 82:* beautiful pool area * nice breakfast * close to port and town *cheap
