Reviews for Largs Pier Hotel

Review 1:Being upgraded to the Heritage Suite was a great experience. Elegant and spacious. We felt like a Queen and King. We had a nice frontal view of the sea and the gorgeous sunset. Had our meal sitting out on the balcony outside our room. Bed was huge and comfortable. Shower was great. Parking was available behind the hotel. An excellent stay.

Review 2:Staff could be a little friendlier. Breakfast was a mixed bag. Had to send one back.

Review 3:The location by the beach and the tradition of the hotel. Quiet, peaceful and romantic.

Review 4:Had people on the balcony peer through our window when I was still in bed in the morning, bit embarrasing.

Review 5:We stayed in the corner room with balcony, great view, nice old fashion room, comfy bed and big TV.

Review 6:The room was facing away from the beach but with the two levels of balconys that all gest can acces and relax on made up for the views of my room. (Most rooms are sea views)

Review 7:Nothing to dislike!

Review 8:I was visiting friends in Largs Bay so location was important. There is so much to do in Largs Bay and Port Adelaide that I will return. Restaurant food was excellent and breakfast in the bar was delightful.

Review 9:Not anymore as fresh as shown on pictures. Already worn-out and needs to be refreshed a little bit. Very friendly at the reception but quite unfriendly stuff at breakfast.

Review 10:crossing the street I enjoyed a beautiful beach walk, really relaxing place.

Review 11:We arrived late but had a very smooth book in time. We were shown our room which was very comfortable and clean with a great view from balcony. Very quiet and a lovely tasty breakfast on the balcony. A great place to spend our 20th Wedding anniversary.

Review 12:There was no lift. The staff in the Restaurant were unhelpful, It was the usual pub fair Line up at the cash register to pay and quote your table number. It was only half full but extremely noisy and not in keeping with their advertisement

Review 13:We had a Deluxe Heritage room with access to the balcony on the second floor, The views were great

Review 14:The two single beds pushed together. Not that it bothered as much

Review 15:How the room looked the same as the pics on the website. How clean and fresh the bed felt. The meal. Breakfast in bed. How big and clean the shower and bath room were. The hair dryer. The location. The friendly staff and service.

Review 16:The Staff at Reception were most friendly and helpful and professional. The Bar staff knew their stuff and again friendly, helpful and professional. The Largs Pier Hotel being a historically listed building, was just magnificent, we would gladly stay here again.

Review 17:Be aware that if you store your electronic door key (card) is wiped if stored near your phone and you wont be able to access your room without first finding the security guard via the casino bar area as there is no one at reception at night

Review 18:Nice Location and comfortable room

Review 19:Found office staff very drab in performance. Room was dusty and shower dirty, room servicing very poor, floors left not vacuumed Cost of the room we were located in was grossly overpriced.I have now purchased a property in North Haven and will suggest to any friends and relatives when visiting me and not staying with me, not to stay there or to expect the above. My previous stay was a similar experience.

Review 20:We liked the location, I have stayed there before and it was conveniently located. Restaurant staff , service and meals were excellent.

Review 21:Some of the bar staff were gruff and rude. Seemed like they didn't like like jobs. One girl actually spilt my coffee then said' you'll live' :(

Review 22:The house keeping staff and receptionists were lovely and the bed was great.

Review 23:We enjoyed great weather, a beautiful room...bar staff not very friendly/attentive..and reception staff asked us to 'could you please pay as you go and not charge things to your room, then we dont have to charge things to your card'..?? Most strange, surely this is our choice? Food lovely, enjoyed it, but generally the staff let it down

Most strange, surely this is our choice? Food lovely, enjoyed it, but generally the staff let it down..

Review 25:Some of the staff were a bit unfriendly and the service at the bar on the Sunday was very poor.

Review 26:Great view of the ocean from the balcony and when we checked in the staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 27:The price of a 15oz beer was $8.75 - wow - I realise its a very special hotel - I last had a beer there in 1985 :-)

Review 28:The atmosphere of the hotel is great, the style timeless, the staff were excellent and very friendly, the food wonderful and the beer cold. The room was very comfortable, open and a decent size bathroom :-)

Review 29:Room was a dingy flat across the road. When complained they would only move me if I paid more. The service in bistro terrible lots of empty tables when I arrived but they were dirty with used plates etc. finally got table and they bought out my main course before entree. No phones in room to call reception etc.

Review 30:Food in bistro tasted good

Review 31:Staff were wonderful as I had booked on short notice after hours. I was tired and hungry after a 2.5 hr drive plus a 12 he shift at work but I had great room, comfortable luxury bed and great meal delivered to my room in no time at all could not have been happier.

Review 32:Water spilled out of bottom of shower after usage. Paid WiFi is not acceptable this day and age. Payment taken on my Amex and we asked them to put it on our Visa? Reception closed up early.

Review 33:Beds clean & comfortable

Review 34:View of roof only from bedroom window Creaking floors when walking to bathroom No space for toiletries in bathroom Very slow pressure of hot water in shower NO elevator and room very dark Paid higher $ than 5 star in Glenelg

Review 35:Location Food

Review 36:It's s pricey for a hotel at approx $200 per night

Review 37:This is attest hotel with fantastic food. The bar and lounge areas are laid back easy areas to entertain in. We used this hotel as our main meeting and eating venue for a family reunion. Some family had hotel rooms, we were in the 2 bed apartment across the road. Beautiful beach location, area holds childhood memories for me so may have influenced my sense of comfort at this hotel.

Review 38:Room not ready on time. Cleaning crew and materials all over landing. Menu same in bar as in restaurant. Bad or no service in restaurant. Food very average

Review 39:View

Review 40:I was booked in a balcony room, however when I requested ice for my room, I was told to go downstairs and ask at the bar.The breakfast staff were friendly though to busy the first morning, the second even busier so we choose to eat elsewhere. Obviously more staff are needed at breakfast time to serve in the lovely area.

Review 41:The view from our beautiful clean room was breathtaking... cruise ships in Adelaide passing bye. The balcony was a wonderful place to watch the sun sink in the west and an easy stroll to shops and transport.

Review 42:Would be nice to have a few extra things in the room, like second champagne glass, plate and knife for nibbles - had to go hunting these things down which wasn't straightforward.

Review 43:Loved having dinner delivered to us and eating on the balcony overlooking the beach. Found the room spacious and the spa was lovely!

Review 44:Blown away by the magnificence of this beautiful old building so lovingly and carefully restored. I didn't simply stay I experienced history. Could not fault this establishment

Review 45:Room needed a good clean. Bed and Bedding were excellent. Floors needed vac & bathroom floor could do with a good clean.w

Review 46:Great location. Delicious meals. Beautiful building.

Review 47:The misleading information on booking.com, which listed the 2-bedroom apartment I had initially booked as part of Largs Pier Hotel. Hugely detrimental, as first impressions last longest. Fortunately, a family room was available in the motel section, which served my needs. Some staff were disgruntled, but that is a reflection on human nature, I believe, and not the hotel itself. The majority of staff were great.

Review 48:Loved the fantastic location and stunning architecture and decor of the heritage hotel, especially the front bar that is distinctly reminiscent of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, where I have lived for 20 years. I should also commend the staff's quick response to my visible dissatisfaction on viewing the '2-bedroom apartment' I had booked, which was advertised under Largs Pier Hotel but turned out to be a shabby and depressing block of poorly maintained flats two blocks away. Nikki, Tara and Lisa should be singled out for special praise.
