Reviews for Econo Lodge Armidale

Review 1:bit out of town of Armidale...apparently a good thing?

Review 2:Friendly staff and excellent service. Id stay again for sure. Close to highway for early departure. Had room for a camper trailer on the flat near pool. Brilliant. Also felt safe and sound whilst there.

Review 3:We were next to the stairs and could hear the people in hard soled shoes traipsing up and down. And a standard drawback that we find with ALL motels, because we have six traveling, there are never enough places to hang all the towels, especially if you use the pool and have more wet things. But that was the only negative really.

Review 4:It was on the main road into town but not on the bypass that all the trucks use. Nice and quiet. The beds were comfortable and really set up for the cold with plush blankets and doonas. We thought this was overkill but it got down to 8 celsius overnight in the middle of summer !! The hot water was plentiful and the shower had good water pressure. The size of the rooms were good and the curtains blocked out all the light if you want it dark for sleeping.

Review 5:If you are intending to "self cater" (microwave), there are no plates, cutlery etc in the room. We knew this so we took our own. Not sure if they are available from reception - we didn't ask!!

Review 6:Very handy to have the microwave in the room. Large, comfortable rooms.

Review 7:No seperate hand basin for toilet bathroom. More than one knock on the door from housekeeping in 3 nights would be good.

Review 8:Aircon and bedding and pool; clean and comfortable.

Review 9:Exactly what we needed - cheap and cheerful with comfy beds and friendly staff who were willing to help however they could. The pool was inviting but we weren't there long enough. The room was very basic but we were just there to sleep and it was all we needed!

Review 10:A small swing set would be great to help keep young children occupied how ever that is a very small negative.

Review 11:Great location and the facilities were above what I was expecting. They actually have modern linen which is a nice change for motels.

Review 12:The owners were friendly and helpful. They did not have a restaurant and were some distance from any however they did have restaurant meals that you could order and they would pick up. Quite an innovative idea.

Review 13:Great location to stop over on your travels. Just off the New England Highway and minutes from the CBD. Friendly staff to greet you. Large motel rooms with kitchenette. Good size bathrooms. Views from the landing with outside seating. Dining room at reception with home cooking for breakfast or you can have room service. It really is home away from home.

Review 14:No allocated parking... Had to ask housekeeping to make beds, leave fresh towels & take away rubbish (stayed for 2 nights)...

Review 15:Lovely, helpful staff! Rooms were clean & comfortable!

Review 16:The place where the wiring for electric blanket connected with the blanket was lumpy and initially made it difficult to settle down. The electric blanket also made the mattress on the hard side.

Review 17:Nothing.

Review 18:One of the few Motels that we've visited where rooms have such a useful "Guest Compendium" that in addition to the usual detail of things to see, includes info on room service meals and those on hand for late arrivals to microwave (a nice touch), and a listing of around 80 places to dine-out - from Maccas to high-end restaurants. Friendly Owners.

Review 19:The only thing I didn't like is that I was charged the full normal rate of $125 instead of the Booking.com price of $110! I will be asking for a refund for the difference.

Review 20:Room was very quiet, clean and comfortable

Review 21:The shower was pretty awful. The head made the water feel like needles and the shower curtain (I'm guessing due to the air flow) kept sticking to my body. There was also no exhaust fan, and you had to close the window because of the shower curtain blowing around, so the bathroom was a wet mess by the end of the shower.

Review 22:The staff were wonderful and welcoming.

Review 23:Facilities old and dated. Interior design in poor taste. Unacceptable access to rooms, steps not safe and timber rotting, difficult to carry bags to room, no disabled access.

Review 24:Private quiet setting. Friendly Staff. Freshly painted and clean.

Review 25:Not enough hours in the night to catch up on sleep deprivation from our business trip - not something anyone can do anything about, apart from inventing a few more hours between midnight and one o'clock :-)

Review 26:The neat way the bathroom towels etc were presented. Friendliness and helpfulness as we booked in. Quiet place Breakfast was delicious

Review 27:The Table arrangement a little cramped. Not sufficient power points - or inconveniently located Family Rooms located upstairs not suitable for the very elderly or disabled.

Review 28:Staff eager to please and friendly. Attention to cleanliness good.

Review 29:The star rating doesn't capture the attention to detail and the welcoming feel of the place. Didn't have time to check out the excellent local activities presented in the well though out compendium.

Review 30:Position for travellers is excellent. Close to Armadale bypass but very little if any traffic noise. Welcoming environment with a very clean tidy renovation. The separate "kitchen" space and available mirowaveable meals a real winner. Crisp clean sheets and great bed. What more does the tired traveller need?

Review 31:Owner is very warm-hearted and the room is very clean. Location is peaceful and close to the Armidale city centre as well as South Cross University. Highly recommend to stay here.

Review 32:The size of the room was excellent for the cost. Other accommodation stayed at in the area was smaller for the same value or more expensive for the same size. Very comfortable.

Review 33:The air con wasn't very effective in Armidales's cold. Electric blankets were so well hidden that we didn't realize they were there till getting into bed!

Review 34:Close to where we needed to be. A basic room but clean

Review 35:Shower only lukewarm, even after running (to instructions) for a while, too cold to contemplate at 6am on day of checkout! Step down into shower was a trip hazard. Bathroom very dated compared to main room. A heater in the bathroom would be appreciated! Bedding was strange: sheets across the bed, not proper size & tucked in at top & not bottom. Doona had no cover on it, only a sheet on top which became a tangle. No breakfast menu in room either day. These factors let down an otherwise lovely motel.

Review 36:Room beautifully decorated & presented, everything you could want, lounge to sit on as well. Electric blankets and doona on bed. Located a short drive from town centre, convenient to New England Highway. Free Wi Fi was excellent. Room stayed warm all night once heated.

Review 37:The walls seemed a little thin, could hear noise from the next room across. Overall it was a very pleasant place to stay.

Review 38:The bed was extremely comfortable. Loved it !! Definitely would stay there again.

Review 39:The warm welcome, the location, peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed our stay very much and were thrilled for the residents of Armidale who saw snow for the first time in several years - brrrrr! :)

Review 40:The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. Good parking available and in a convenient position in town - close to highway so we could travel to the airport hassle free.

Review 41:staff went out of the way to help. Extras like tea coffee and cleaning goods were abundant. Had microwave and crockery etc. free wifi The best motel I have stayed in in years

Review 42:Nothing to dislike.

Review 43:Convenient to city, easy to find. The owner Phil who booked me and my wife in was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for two days and have booked in again this week. Highly recommended.

Review 44:As stated by someone else the ONLY thing I could pick was a minor inconvenience of having to unplug microwave to plug in kettle/ toaster e.g. there was a spare power point under the bench but cords weren't long enough/ couldn't go through the bench, so I could see what this person meant.

Review 45:Easy booking, welcoming arrival, spotlessly clean, good sized Family Room. Felt safe, comfortable beds. Was good to see my (I might add, well behaved) teenage son relaxed & not having to worry about the undue bias against teens he sometimes encounters within the Service Industry. I might also take my grandson who's a few mths older next time :) Restful motel and decor. Option of a good menu (said return Dinner Menu prior to 8pm) Close to Armidale City, yet quieter rural feel.

Review 46:My only complaint was partly my fault. We needed adjoining room for family. I was disabled and this type of room was only available on first floor. No lift. I didn't ask but room type should specify what level ie ground or first.

Review 47:Very quiet location Reception staff very helpful Adjoining room for family was excellent

Review 48:Shower was a bit old tho clean maybe could do with a shower glass than curtain

Review 49:The comfortable bed and clean linean was great after a long drive from Broken Hill we just needed a good sleep with the kids of which we did

Review 50:WiFi limit in rural area where own service Blah. Foxtel minimum channels so if wish to watch a little, is not ideal.

Review 51:Great owners. Nice room. Clean & tidy.

Review 52:Although we were in a no smoking room, smoking was permitted on the verandah directly outside our room. This resulted in our room smelling of smoke as there were a number of people smoking on the verandah.

Review 53:The owners were delightfully friendly and helpful. I left a small radio in my room and the owner contacted me by text in order to send it back which I was very grateful for

Review 54:Had probs with WiFi, couldn't connect, forgot to mention this on departure. Nothing else negative.

Review 55:Great stay, clean, quiet, welcoming, good size room. Extra pillows and blankets. Our room was a newly renovated one so it was in really good condition. Service was fantastic, very welcoming and helpful owners, lovely breakfast cooked perfectly, worth having, nice continental breakfast available in breakfast room or select your own basket full of food for your room if you don't want bacon and eggs.

Review 56:I could not get the Wifi to work using the code provided.

Review 57:I liked the spaciousness of the room and it's high ceiling. It was lovely and clean and the small touches in the bathroom were really nice. Such as the toilet paper end being made into a fan and the hand towel was made into a pocket for the face cloth. Very nice and showed care and interest in the guest's comfort.

Review 58:Limited daily wifi allowance. But really grateful that Phil was happy to increase the allowance. Our unit's kitchenette needed updating in line with others but it was adequate.

Review 59:Rae and Phil were lovely and always willing to help out or make our week-long stay as comfortable and easy as possible. Great pool. Will be back next year. All the best with your new business.

Review 60:Parking spaces weren't allocated or close to rooms

Review 61:It was lovely and dark and quiet which for us is essential because we live on 100 acres and struggle with light loud hotels

Review 62:The staff are lovely, the rooms are spacious, the showers are fantastic considering the water restrictions in the area and the beds are so comfy. Always stay at this hotel when I come to uni and wont stay anywhere else! Best value for money!!

Review 63:Light bulb on right hand side of double bed had blown. Should have reported this at the time of departure. Fridge had to turn on.

Review 64:Very friendly helpful staff

Review 65:The bathroom basin was outside the room which was fine except the basin design was such that you couldn't get the jug under the tap to fill it properly, let alone get a water bottle filled.

Review 66:The room was clean, beds comfortable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The perfect place for a stopover on your travels.

Review 67:The fact is, every motel I ever stay in has bothered to put a sign up saying hang your towels if you don't want new ones, which of Course I do, and every day there are new towels on the bed! Why?

Review 68:Comfortable bed, good working kettle, tea and biscuits, quiet.

Review 69:In the bathroom there was only a net curtain on the window so that when the light was on it would be possible for someone to look in and I think a blind would be a better option.

Review 70:It was quiet and really clean. the managers were very friendly and helpful.

Review 71:As it's an older style building you can hear faint plumbing when next door shower was on. Didn't bother me at all though and can't be helped.

Review 72:Good value for money and very clean and comfortable. Was only there for one night but could easily have stayed longer. Thank you :)

Review 73:The room was very well planned and spaced out with good facilities considering that we weren't eating in the room. The reception staff were very welcoming and provided great advice about where to eat and what to see. Made the whole trip easier.

Review 74:Room 12 air con didn't work very well. Everything else was perfect . But it was very cold . Snuggled up in bed was good though.

Review 75:Room 2 was spectacular, we'll thought out luxury with a comfy price tag.

Review 76:The shower head didn't have very good water pressure.

Review 77:The room was spacious and had nice modern furnishings and a very comfortable bed. We appreciated the well equipped kitchenette. The Staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Review 78:The staff were so helpful, nothing was a bother and went out of their way to help. The room was neat, clean and well presented. The cost was reasonable compared to other places and for what you got. Loved our experience!

Review 79:It was very handy to PLC where I was attending a week long recorder course.

Review 80:Friendly service. Good facilities. All good.

Review 81:Friendly staff. Spotless room and facilities. Great shower compared to many other motels! Would definitely stay here again.

Review 82:Helpfulness of staff but had to ask for china and cutlery.

Review 83:no vanity in bathroom, soaps and shampoos were in the kitchen part Also wwas noisey

Review 84:Was very clean

Review 85:Price, good value for money

Review 86:Woken up by our neighbour talking, walls are a bit thin.

Review 89:Ease of booking in and out
