Reviews for Rossmanagher House

Review 1:room was cold upon arrival

Review 2:Very personable experience. This is a great country house, astetically great, large room, king size comfortable bed and great breakfast.

Review 3:The warm hospitality of the owner from the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely return if ever back in the area.

Review 4:An amazing place - the "estate" is beautiful - highlighted by horses running and grazing. Lorraine, the owner is charming & cordial. The best stay of our 10 day trip!

Review 5:The only thing I could think that would have improved our wonderful visit was some kind of walking trail. The locals walk on the skinny road, but that seemed a little hair-raising to us. Rossmanagher is located a ways out from Bunratty, so be sure to get instructions on how to get there.

Review 6:Our room was incredibly spacious and lovely, with the most enchanting view of the Irish countryside, including grazing horses. But the best part was Lorraine, a graceful hostess who offered fine conversation, spot-on recommendations for sites to visit, and the most incredible breakfasts. This location proved to be a perfect jump-off for daily excursions in County Clare -- and a great place to return for relaxation at day's end.

Review 7:Shower wasn't great -poor pressure

Review 8:Beautifully decorated house, large bedroom with a very comfortable 4 poster bed and huge bathroom. Very quiet location, horses in the fields around the house and lots of space for parking. Lorraine is an excellent host, warm, welcoming and hard working

Review 9:Wifi was not perfect and I would probably suggest upgrading that.

Review 10:Loraine is an incredible hostess. We only stayed one night and I would have booked for far longer had I known what I was booking. This is essentially a multi million dollar mansion, furnished like a French castle. No matter what, make sure and stay for the breakfast the next morning!

Review 11:We didn't have a bad experience at all except that I have suggested to Lorraine she might like to add a few hooks on the walls, backs of doors etc as you always need silly things like that to hang towels etc.

Review 12:We simply loved Lorraine & how she welcomed us into her home. We stayed 4 nights so we really got chance to get to know her as our hostess & how such a beautiful house was now opening its doors to like minded people. We loved breakfast as it became a sociable occasion & we have met some lovely people from Australia who joined us for dinner at JP Clarkes in Bunratty. It's a huge sunny house full of sunshine & laughter & most of that is down to Lorraine who couldn't have done anything more for us.

Review 13:Leaving

Review 14:Location was perfect for day trips. We stayed for 4 nights. Great hostess, furnishings, surroundings, breakfasts, and wifi. We liked it so much we are giving a one night stay to our newly weds as a wedding gift.

Review 15:there was nothing i didn't like

Review 16:the decor (french/italian) was beautiful - somewhat of a surprise in rural Ireland. The room was huge, giving us plenty of space for everything. The breakfast was a delight.

Review 17:The wifi really did not work in our room...it was too far away

Review 18:The home is absolutely stunning and beautiful. Lorriane is the most gracious and accommodating proprietor we have ever met Full Irish breakfast...very tasty in a gorgeous dining room

Review 19:The house is in horrible condition. It is in need of MAJOR repairs both inside and out. Beds are poor, hot water did not work part of the time, dead bugs under the couch, paint coming off the walls!

Review 20:The proprietor was very nice and helpful.

Review 21:Hated leaving.

Review 22:Everything. From the minute we walked in the door. Lorraine has such a bubbly personality. She made us feel at home and showed us around her fabulous home. A stunning place better than any five star hotel. We definitely will be returning. Great value, great rooms and services and brilliant breakfast.

Review 23:Great space in bedroom and house, very comfortable and beautiful home, host is really lovely, beautiful horses galloping around outside in the paddocks

Review 24:Although the home is lovely and Lorraine friendly and welcoming, a noisy pool filter went on at 2 am and I couldn't sleep until it went off at 5 am.

Review 25:We were made to feel most welcome by Lorraine from the moment we crossed the threshold. The property is along a quiet country road and we enjoyed the tranquil setting only minutes from the heart of Bunratty. The decor of Rossmanagher is exquisite; Louis 16th furniture in lounge and dining areas all contributing to an overall feeling of luxury. Breakfast in the dining room was a wonderful way to start the day. A truly memorable and magical experience.

Review 26:Hard to find but directions were given prior to our stay which helped a lot

Review 27:Great welcome to an amazing house. Very grand furniture and was made to feel like royalty!

Review 28:Lorraine was a very gracious host and her breakfast was wonderful. Rossmanagher House is on a very quiet road in the country, yet within a few minutes of Bunratty and 15 minutes from Shannon airport. It was so nice to have a quiet space to reflect on our trip to Ireland after the bustle of Galway and Dublin.

Review 29:Lorraine is a lovely lady who does a terrific job to run this huge place. The accommodation is professional but relaxed and welcoming. She takes a kind interest in her guests and specifically made changes for our needs without hesitation. The location is great for Shannon, Bunratty or Ennis and we would strongly recommend Rossmanagher.

Review 30:Wi-Fi was not working, but we were informed that this would be rectified.

Review 31:Luxurious facilities Warm and friendly welcome Tea/Coffee making facilities Complimentary bottle of water Delicious Breakfast Decor of the House

Review 32:difficult to find (don't trust the booking.com coordinates! they are wrong - or at least they were in May 2015), very slow WiFi

Review 33:extravagantly decorated house, great breakfast, Lorraine was a very welcoming and helpful host

Review 34:Having to leave.

Review 35:Everything, the house was beautiful, its was like being in a 5 star hotel, the furniture was amazing, The room was very spacious, as was the whole house. Lorraine, the host, is wonderful, so friendly, kind, warm and welcoming, it was like a home from home. Breakfast was hot, tasty and filling, couldn't fault anything, less than 5 minutes from Bunratty castle. We will certainly be back, and would recommend this to everyone accommodation

Review 36:The weather was cold and rainy and the house was very cold. We need warm jackets on at all times. We requested the heat to be turned on and received small portable heater that was not large enough to heat bedroom and bathroom.

Review 37:Hostess.

Review 38:No real heating and the bathroom was very cold. Panel heating and heated towel rails would solve this issue.

Review 39:Lots of space, friendly proprietor, lovely decor.

Review 40:Wi-fi/TV in room would have been a bonus

Review 41:Bright, clean, spacious accommodation. Hostess very welcoming. Excellent breakfast. Five star value at three star prices

Review 42:Beautiful accommodation. Lorraine McDonagh the proprietor was so friendly and accommodating I would definitely recommend to anyone travelling. A hidden gem

Review 43:Leaving the following day.

Review 44:We were greeted on arrival by our extremely friendly and smiling host Lorraine who proceeded to show us through her most beautiful home which is a treasure to experience. We can only do it justice to classify it as a 5 star hotel operating as a B&B. We were treated to a sumptuous breakfast the following morning and following a great chat with the ever so pleasant Lorraine before leaving, wished our stay was longer than just the one night. We have told so many people about it is the best reference we can give. You will not find its equivalent anywhere. Thanks again Lorraine and for the great tips. Mike & Catherine

Review 45:Lorraine was such a pleasant host, so friendly and nice. The guests had their own living room to relax in and the rooms were very very spacious . We were made to feel like lord and lady of the manor!!!

Review 46:No wi-fi

Review 47:Lorraine was amazing and couldn't have been more hospitable. The house was huge AND REALLY AMAZING. The location was close to Bunratty castle.

Review 48:The house had a negelcted air/ not the cleaness home we had stayed in. Wi-fi was not working, nor hot water in one bedroom. Our group was disappointed overall.

Review 49:Lorraine was a charming hostess. Location was good, as were the size of the rooms.

Review 50:I would recommend this place to everyone. I found the welcome very friendly and inviting. The house is amazing very different to pleases I have stayed before. The room was beautiful and lots of space. The bed was very comfortable and had the best sleep. Will be returning I was blown away and value for money. Thanks for the warm welcome into your home

Review 51:There was a general air of neglect and cleanliness. WiFi was erratic.

Review 52:Lorraine was a lovely hostess. The rooms are spacious. One room booked was comfortable. However, the 2nd room had issues. Problem with electrical and hot water.

Review 53:Wifi available in the house but not the bedrooms (which we knew about so not a huge deal). The hot breakfast was great but the cold options could have been better. We had a spa tub but no shower (but again we did know this) which makes a quick turnaround in the morning tough. Highly recommend having a car but you could get around with taxi's.

Review 54:Lorraine was amazing and couldn't have been more trusting and hospitable. The house was huge as was the room. The location was convenient for some local attractions, restaurants, and Shannon airport. The room and house were very clean.

Review 55:This is a new B and B venture in the owner's home. She is still refining some of the facilities to meet guest needs and expectations.

Review 56:The owner is extremely personable and helpful. The location was central to historical sites and the Shannon airport. A dinning experience at the castle within a 15 minute drive was the best we had in Ireland.

Review 57:Bedroom and en suite were dirty and unfinished. Other than the bed which featured in ad was scarcely furnished. Not fully painted, no tiles in bathroom, no shower only a hand held shower head with a short hose to use when sitting in bath. No frosted glass in bathroom or no curtains/blind. Plenty of cobwebs and spiders. Far from 5 star alas! Very disappointed.

Review 58:Drawing room and dining room appeared impressive. Hostess was pleasant.

Review 59:The atmosphere is amazing, spacious room, wonderful host. The house is located on the countryside but very close to all attractions. Sumptuous and delicious breakfast + very quite. Recommend !!!

Review 60:All I have here is a suggestion - a mirror near an outlet for drying/fixing hair would be helpful.

Review 61:Lorraine has a positively sparkling personality - vibrant, friendly and very helpful. Lovely place, room had loads of space - and comfortable...and breakfast in the dining room was grand.

Review 62:The house was very spacious and well decorated, Lorraine was warm and welcoming and went to a lot of trouble to make our visit one that we remember with pleasure.
