Reviews for Tannery Townhouse
Review 1:Just the fact that it was very noisy! You couldn't fully relax in the room
Review 2:Cooked Breakfast was gorgeous! The bread was so fresh and you could help yourself! The location was so central to everywhere which was fantastic
Review 3:The noise of the fridge was annoying at night. The bathroom mirror was too high for a 5 .3 foot woman! The temperature of the shower was not consistent
Review 4:The room design was minimalist, but chic, with a clever layout. loved the Plantation blinds.
Review 5:Entrance to car park is very narrow for medium to large cars. The breakfast could have been better & the table provided was small for 2 people.
Review 6:Stylish & comfortable accommodation in a quiet location.
Review 7:Breakfast was dry rolls and some cooked meat left in the fridge :-( Nice breakfast just down the road 400 yds.
Review 8:Great Funky styling, roomy, comfortable, very well equipped Bathroom with separate Bath and shower and all you need to stay for several days.
Review 9:the location is great for the centre of Dungarvan. The accomodation is quaint and the fresh muffins and scones awaiting us the next morning were a lovely idea.
Review 10:Honestly couldn't say anything bad about it
Review 11:Loved every part of our stay. Not having to leave your room to have breakfast was great. You don't have to travel far to feel like your on your holidays. The Tannery Townhouse ticked all the boxes.
Review 12:You could not call what we had each morning a breakfast !! A muffin delivered and a bad tasting yoghurt/melon trifle plus a bowl of muesli left in the room each morning. We we told we would have a continental breakfast delivered to our room . Very poor considering the hotel is owned by a chef with a cookery school close by!!
Review 13:The room and location were both very good.
Review 14:My friend didn't life the brekki. I did
Review 15:Great location. chilled out staff. Lovely rooms. breakfast was unusual. In the room which I loved. muffins granola and compote.
Review 16:We could not open the window in the room and the room was very warm. If the widow does not open then aircon would be required. We woke at 6 am struggling for air and despite our best efforts could not open the window. The grouting in the shower is really pretty grimey again just a small touch up in there would really improve things- the towels in the bathroom have also seen better days- they are very old and frayed- I would have expected better. I was aware in advance that a continental breakfast is the only option and that just happened to suit us but although the milk was in date it turned when added to our tea and coffee. Not a great start to the day- had to leave to go for a a coffee. No breakfast at all would have been better than what was provided.
Review 17:The location was good the stafff were great and the restaurant is really nice. They people were lovely and so welcoming- very friendly. I would stay there again but there were a few small issues that I am sure could be easily rectified.
Review 18:Friendly welcome, lovely comfortable apartment...excellent continental breakfast was plenty after a wonderful, reasonably priced meal in The Tannery Restaurant the previous evening.
Review 19:Shaver point in bathroom would have been useful.
Review 20:Cycle friendly. Excellent value for money. Sister Tannery wine bar/ restaurant highly recommended.
Review 21:Buffet breakfast is a little limited. More pastries and fresh fruit juice would have been welcome. Nevertheless, the quality of the breakfast was good.
Review 22:I was there for a few nights, so the continental breakfast was OK, but I would have preferred different options. Also the description of breakfast in my booking form didn't state it was a continental breakfast.
Review 23:I thought the décor was absolutely fabulous. I would highly recommend this townhouse.
Review 24:The room in the town house was a little small, and we didn't really like the muffins for breakfast, but would definitely stay there again as Dungarvan is a lovely place and the Tannery is a brilliant restaurant
Review 25:We were vey impressed with the staff, they were excellent, the food was also excellent the restaurant was one of the best we have been to.
Review 26:Very poor soundproofing between rooms. Couldn't sleep listening to next door chatting til very late..not their fault. Generally the room needed a good dusting and the shower needed a good scrub..
Review 27:Location
Review 28:Rooms very well decorated, bed was very comfy, excellent location - breakfast was a muffin hanging on the door in the morning which was a lovely touch
Review 29:A lot of street noise.
Review 30:Very different . Townhouse accomodation. A bit apprehensive about breakfast in room needn't have worried ... It was excellent ! Valerie very helpful .
Review 31:Expected full breakfast, but was told they needed to update the booking.com website as it is misleading. Need to be more helpful around special dietary requirements for continental breakfast. Narrow parking, had to remove bicycles to enter. No wifi on Saturday morning. Black-out blinds would be useful.
Review 32:Location excellent, small fridge in room.
Review 33:Couldn't sleep between noise from next room, from the street and from the bar around the corner (earplugs were provided but still...). Wooden shutters didn't keep out the light. Continental breakfast, eaten in room. Wasn't told about this beforehand.
Review 34:Spotless BnB, nice view over rooftops to the sea.
Review 35:I felt the breakfast set up was very poor
Review 36:The location was great . The bedroom was lovely . A separate breakfast room would have been much better . Daniel was very helpful when I was booking . And Marie gave us a great recommendation for kenmare
Review 37:It's hard to be critical but If I was to be anyway critical at all, I would say that the muffins were not the freshest... in saying that still were tasty. I wasn't a fan of apple juice and would have preferred orange juice. Two tiny little things in the grand scheme of things.
Review 38:Loved the food in the restaurant. 10 out of 10. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The townhouse was very clean and very comfortable. Small but very well formed. Absolutely thought the ear plugs was a fantastic idea.
Review 39:Gorgeous decor, thoughtful details such as bottled water, fresh coffee in a cafetière and artisan continental breakfast. Full movie channels, sea view. A perfect getaway for a few days.
Review 40:As other reviews state breakfast is eaten in your room, however delightful (and it was eaten) was adequate and no proper table to sit at as its only like a bistro set.
Review 41:Beautifully presented room. Blackout shutters ensure a restful sleep. Ear plugs also provided. Adequate toiletries. Not suitable for persons with disabilities as steep flight of stairs to rooms.
Review 42:Food in the restaurant was terrible. It was obvious the starter had been made earlier that day and brought straight from the fridge to the table. The baked Alaska for desert was the most disappointing I've ever had and left most of it.
Review 43:Bright and airy room. Staff were very very friendly and helpful.
Review 44:Nothing at all. If I had to pick something it would be that there were no tissues but that would really be nitpicking.
Review 45:Room was spacious and had all the comforts necessary - iron and ironing board, hairdryer, nespresso machine. All excellent. We ate in the Tannery Restaurant one night, Merry's bar and the Moorings. Couldn't find a thing to complaint about.
Review 46:Walls were very thin - also would have liked the option of a cooked breakfast.
Review 47:Clean, well-decorated and comfortable room which was in a very handy location. Very good value for money
Review 48:The shower had terrible lime scale which stood out against the beautifully fitted bathroom. You were stumped at breakfast if you didn't like rhubard.
Review 49:Loved the stlye of the room.
Review 50:The noise level early in the morning was dreadful. The townhouse is next door to a lovely pub, however at approximately 8am on our first morning the pub had a barrel delivery which lasted approximately 20 - 30 minutes and the noise was so loud it felt like the house was shaking. The delivery men were throwing the barrels from the truck to the ground and vice versa. When that finished the road sweepers came along and that caused considerable noise also. We could even hear people walking down the street.
Review 51:Our room was beautiful, very large and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly also.
Review 52:We had a bad experience staying at the Tannery Townhouse. From the time we went to be bed around midnight, every few minutes a noise what sounded like a fan or pump came on and I slept very little. It got less frequent as the morning came, but still there. We said it at reception next morning but got little satisfaction! Also they wanted to charge us for the meal in the restaurant the night before which we already had paid, and had to produce our receipt. (not good)
Review 53:The decor the food the staff all excellent It is just a must do for your bucket list Paul Flynn should be given an award the whole thing experience is sublimec
Review 54:The breakfast left a bit to be desired. Wouldn't go there for this
Review 55:Room was very nicely decorated and very comfortable and warm. The bathroom was immaculate.
Review 56:Breakfast was continental but very poor Received phone call from staff member day after inquiring about payment even though we had paid the previous evening- -
Review 57:Cleanliness of room Location of premises
Review 58:Sewage smell in bathroom. No stopper in sink. Tap unit loose. We stayed in room 7
Review 59:Very comfortable room. We liked the breakfast muffins. It was a light breakfast in the room which was ideal after an excellent dinner in the Tannery restaurant the previous night.
Review 60:We booked a superior room 3-4 months ahead and we got one on the ground floor, we couldn't sleep with the window open in case some merry person decided to pay us a visit in the middle of the night and it was rather warm. The bed squeaked bad each time I moved so didn't get much sleep that night. I had very high expectations and was somewhat disappointed.
Review 61:The location was perfect, just around the corner from the Tannery restaurant. I liked the way they serve breakfast - fresh yogurt and milk in the fridge, plus yummy muffins.
Review 62:Breakfast - nice concept but somewhat disappointing and not very filling.
Review 63:Comfortable, clean and well furnished room. Staff were very welcoming. Well situated in the centre of Dungarvan.
Review 64:Poor sound insulation between rooms, meaning I could hear conversations, bathroom extractor, toilet flushing in the adjoining rooms. Ear plugs were provided though.
Review 65:Helpful welcoming staff, lovely location and a fantastic meal in the Tannery townhouse.
Review 66:No aircon We called the Emergency number in the early hours of themorning as a man was locked out of his room and could not get back in sowe let him stay in our room until the staff arrived
Review 67:Location and Cleanliness
Review 68:Being able to hear conversations of adjacent guests through walls The bathroom sink didn't empty
Review 69:Attention to detail Muffin outside the door for breakfast Organic apple juice. Fresh rhubarb and yoghurt in fridge. Sheets on bed. Shutters on windows.
Review 70:Early morning noise-very loud! Between 7am and 830am 4 large trucks either delivering or collecting goods! Very quiet from 9am to 11am.
Review 71:Location and good standard of accommodation. Close to everything and free parking nearby. Close to the sea.
Review 72:having to climb 4 flights of stairs to the bedroom, flies in the room, television not working, no bulb in light fitting , potentially dangerous
Review 73:location
Review 74:Would have liked more ground coffee to make an extra pot.
Review 75:Great central location in Dungarvan. Rooms lovely, with a nice fresh and modern decor and marine-like theme. Healthy breakfast next morning in the room a nice alternative to the Irish fry! Would definitely recommend!
Review 76:I liked everything. The accommodation is lower in standards, but perfect ably acceptable. Remember it's not a hotel, but a restaurant to savour.
Review 77:The welcome and the food, it's all about the food ! The prices are very reasonable considering what you get, excellent quality and quantity!
Review 78:The room we had was up four flights of stairs and there's no lift, so lugging suitcases was no fun and there was no help on offer. Breakfast is only offered in the room and is of the 'continental' variety. I think it would be better if they used some of the space within the nearby Tannery Restaurant to provide a proper breakfast. There was an incessant droning hum from the electrical circuit board within the room which I found annoying at night. The management appear to be aware of this since ear plugs were provided on the bedside lockers! But really, this is something easily fixable.
Review 79:Location is everything and the Tannery Townhouse has it in spades.
Review 80:I have no complaints on the room or breakfast. Would definitely visit again
Review 81:The room was a good size with a King Size bed. Quiet and clean and just a 2 minute walk from the shore. Would definitely visit again. The breakfast, consisting of apple juice, a muesli yoghurt, a good selection of teas and coffees with a fresh bun, delivered and left hanging in a bag outside your bedroom, was delicious.
Review 82:We were on the road and needed a place and it was so nice when we arrived. The owner, which greeted us at her restaurant, was very accommodating and nice. The room was very clean and a haven for two weary travelers. The town of Dungarvan was so quaint; we were glad we picked that spot to settle for the night. Dinner at the tannery was excellent!!!
Review 83:Nothing negative to report.
Review 84:The room was large and cozy, and the breakfast was a nice change from the ubiquitous Irish breakfast. We also ate at the Tannery restaurant, which was also fantastic. Staff are very nice and friendly.
Review 85:Generally when you book with booking.com and the hotel says breakfast is included it means a full breakfast rather than a continental one ( if a continental one is included it is usually listed as such) but this was not the case in the this property. We were told on arrival at the room that the breakfast was in the fridge, which was juice and a muesli yogurt pot and the following morning 2 muffins were hanging on the door handle.
Review 86:The property was very convenient to the town .
Review 87:Decor and bathroom felt old and tired. Breakfast muffins hard and walls so thin there are earplugs by your bed!
Review 88:Location, great meal at the restaurant and friendly staff.
Review 89:Thought continental breakfast was clever, we ate late at the Tannery, so it suited it us perfectly to eat light the next morning. Juice, Yogurt, fruit, muffins just the right amount coffee and an assortment of teas all from the comfort of our room.
Review 90:Small gripe, didn't realise breakfast was a room only option but the fresh croissants left outside your was a nice touch. No complaints really.
Review 91:cleanliness, attention to detail, high quality food, location, owner run.
Review 92:No bad experience at all , but i would have prefered to have breakfast together rather than in my room.
Review 93:Love the conversion of this industrial building into what is a boutique hotel
Review 94:We stayed on a Thursday night with the food festival in Dungarvan starting the next day. Staff were extremely helpful with advice on the festival, food was excellent and room was lovely.
Review 95:Breakfast was advertised as Continental in the room! There was butter and jam in the fridge but no bread. A couple of muffins were hung on the door handle each night, very nice but not for breakfast especially with butter and jam
Review 96:The room was very modern with huge comfortable bed a good shower and bath. It also had a Nespresso machine for making great expresso coffee plus a two cup Cafetiere as well as the normal tea/coffee making facilities. The flat screen TV had multiple channels including BBC and ITV. the location was quiet and very close to the seashore and the town centre. We had a very enjoyable stay and will be back
Review 97:Wifi did not work The breakfast disappointing - love the idea but the rhubarb compote was extremlely bitter - no sugar and same with the muffin - not sweet enough. Also what could you eat if you disliked rhubarb?
Review 98:Room great
Review 99:I missed the opportunity for a hot breakfast (breakfast is left in the fridge in the room and pastries are left outside your room in the morning) but I did enjoy the granola and yoghurt
Review 100:The rooms were large and stylish with a proper seating area and large modern bathroom
Review 101:Wifi didn't work (no big deal). No staff in the building (it's a townhouse opposite the restaurant) which some might not like.
Review 102:Contemporary seaside design is fresh.
Review 103:Unfortunately the owner Mr. Flynn did not feel it necessary to greet some of the guests especially first time visitors.
Review 104:Food was excellent and staff were very friendly.
Review 105:It didn't make a difference to me but people might be interested that the rooms are in a separate building across the road from The Tannery Restaurant and after the restaurant is closed there is no reception as such (as far as I know, there are numbers in the room for contacting in case of emergency). Also, breakfast was included in the room booking but it was not clear from the booking that it was a continental breakfast in the room. Having said that it was a tasty continental breakfast, delicious yoghurt, granola, fresh milk and muffins and tea & coffee making facilities.
Review 106:Very close to town centre where I was meeting people. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a lovely size, with a good sized bathroom and was very clean and comfortable. Wifi available.
Review 107:It was raining and you had to go outside to get to the restaurant for breakfast
Review 108:Very nice decor
Review 109:Nice Food Very friendly 'lady of the house' allowing us a late check-out
Review 110:The Tannery never disappoints,we stay here at least twice each year. Thanks to Paul and all his team.
Review 111:Wifi non existent even though it was checked
Review 112:The excellent dinner at The Tannery
Review 113:Delighted that there is now a full cooked breakfast available at the restaurant.
Review 114:Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 115:The room was spacious and very clean. Everything that you could possibly have needed was provided .
Review 116:Central location. Great food. Relaxed breakfast experience.
Review 117:Breakfast in the room , access to room
Review 118:From arrival to departure, The Tannery Toenhouse and Restaurant provided everything one could need for the perfect weekend.
Review 119:Fridge really loud, bad smell in the room, insonorisation really poor
Review 120:Pillows
Review 121:Shower stall could be cleaner and less slippery.
Review 122:Location was perfect. Charming.
Review 123:Carpets were soiled and bathroom needed updating.
Review 124:Pleasant staff and ideal location
Review 125:As a 70+ with dodgy knees I really appreciated the supply of walking sticks! A huge help in the absence of a lift.
Review 126:This place was amazing and more than I could imagine. Location was excellent, food was amazing, and the amenities were perfect.
