Reviews for Glaros Hotel
Review 1:The dirty smell from the bathroom drain which pervaded the room if the bathroom door was left open. The loud noise from the fridge and the rather noisy airconditioning unit.
Review 2:Friendly staff. Good double bed. Clean bedroom
Review 3:Helpful, very friendly, welcoming staff A breakfast to die for, everything fresh/homemade Relaxed atmosphere Spotlessly clean rooms Quiet location, 5 minutes walk to the charming center of Paleochora and a stunning beach Excellent price/value ratio Thank you for everything sweet family, we will come back!
Review 4:I loved the location in town. The Cretan breakfast is lovlely and enjoyed having breakfast and being near the mountains etc. Rooms are comfy and clean and the staff are all super friendly.
Review 5:Very nice, small, calm and friendly Hotel. Good Location between two beaches and close to old town, Restaurants. Quiet street, free parking place around the Corner. Excellent brakefast on terrace. Very good value for money
Review 6:Our room was a bit dim, but then we were on the ground floor looking into the backyard (with a view of a lemon tree and shrubbery).
Review 7:Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast terrace with a simple but wholesome and fresh tasting breakfast. Good rooms that are well maintained and clean. Excellent beds. Excellent location for everything Paleochora has to offer, well placed between both beaches and close to the 'centre', but still quiet at night.
Review 8:no electric kettles in room
Review 9:+ Very friendly and helpful staff + Clean + Excellent cretan breakfast (served to the table) + Good bathroom + Value for money + Balcony + Good free WiFi
Review 10:Extremely relaxing and family atmosphere, perfect location in Paleochora, great breakfast and best possible value for money. We'll be back next year, for a longer stay. Thank you !
Review 11:We had a wonderful stay in the Glaros Hotel. there was a warm friendly welcome for us when we arrived. The service was excellent and there was a delicious breakfast served every morning. The location was very convenient to beach, Harbour and to the centre of the town. great value for money and we will certainly come back next year.
Review 12:Broken facade of the house, dirty and rusty bathroom. Cats sitting everywhere on your breakfast chair. Two types of breakfast (cretan and continental) every day almost same. Bad with all mattresses, not confortable. Ashtray on the balcony was not clean for two days. Old place from 70's, not very clean. Some member of family should not be in contact with quest.
Review 13:Just location is good, close to everyhink. Solid photos on the web compering the real rooms.
Review 14:clean, well-maintained, with an airy, beachy vibe. outstanding plated breakfast on the beautiful shaded patio. lots of yearly regulars. katarina, the hostess, told us with confidence that we would be back. we're sure she's right. great location in walking distance to everything in this charming, laid-back town. it was hard to leave.
Review 15:The room was quite small with not too much places to put your things, but the balcony compensated the room
Review 16:We liked everything, the balcony of room 213 was huge, the older gentleman was a star of the staff
Review 17:great family hotel, great atmosphere, good breakfast, internet, even a computer in a common area .. everything you need to make guests feel comfortable .. (even a small gift in room) Thank you, and good luck your entire family ..
Review 18:Owners are very friendly without being obtrusive. Hotel is perfect and has everything you need for a vacation - minutes from the village and the sea and wonderful restaurants. The rooms were very clean and had everything you needed. Breakfast was excellent and very plentiful. Would highly recommend Hotel Glaros. Excellent value for money.
Review 19:The hotel is located in the centre of the town but is a short distance from the busy restaurant area which makes for a peaceful stay. The family are extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 20:Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast - very varied, tasty and filling. Room quite large with a big sheltered balcony (could have played table tennis there), comfortable bed. Quiet location without any night noises, close to Samaria restaurant (also recommended). Parking on street nearby was not a problem, but I was there in April.
Review 21:1) Most difficult place for shower, no hot water for shower at all 2) No king size bed,3) Brrakfast was horrible!
Review 22:1)Location was good. 2) they makes fresh orange juice for 1€,3) free hot water for tea.
Review 23:Would have been even better if breakfast had been served from 7.30 a.m. but the owners were very accommodating just the same.
Review 24:The hotel is central but at the same time off the beaten track to guarantee a good night's sleep. Good hospitality. Great breakfast. Cleanliness 100%. Couldn't ask for more!
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:Catherina who worked on reception was an excellent source of knowledge about the area, wonderful sense of humour. The owner and his son were also extremely helpful. We would certainly stay when visiting the area again
Review 27:There are absolutely no downsides to the Glaros, or Paleochora, it's all great.
Review 28:We are all of the same mind—the Glaros is a very special hotel, in a very special village. Andrea and family and Catherine are utterly charming, and go out of their way to make you feel at home, whilst never overfussing. If you are a more private person, they are intuitively dscreet, and you are left to enjoy your stay in your own way. The breakfasts (included in the room rate) are served every morning from 8-10am on the lovely outdoor patio, and your choice is Continental or Cretan. We alternated between them, and your choice of tea or coffee are both a great start to the day. Rooms are furnished quite sparely, are cleaned every morning and have shower and toilets ensuite. Paleochora, being built on a headland, has two beaches, to the west and east, and Glaros sits centrally between them. Each is only 3 minutes' walk. The west beach is sandy, the east pebbly. We preferred the sandy beach, superb for sea swimming. The village is a very special place, and so is Glaros. We will be back next year without a doubt. A very special place and a memorable holiday for all of us.
Review 29:A minor complaint only was that all the satellite programmes on tv were German apart from bbc world news.
Review 30:We liked the welcome from the friendly family. We loved the breakfast out on the terrace. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. We have stayed before and we will stay again.
Review 31:Nothing!
Review 32:Hotel Glaros is in a quite side street ideally located between the two beaches. The room was clean and comfortable with air conditioning and excellent Wifi. We were made to feel very welcome by Andreas when we arrived and we always had a lovely cheerful greeting every day from his father, Tele. A lovely breakfast, which was either continental or Cretan, was served by Katarina every morning on the terrace at the front of the hotel. We would highly recommend this hotel because of the location, friendly and helpful staff and value for money.
Review 33:The shower room needs a revamp, it didn't bother us too much since we spent most of the day swimming and relaxing.
Review 34:The friendliness of the staff and appreciation of our custom. The convenience to beach and harbour, and also to the centre of town at night time.
Review 35:No complaints
Review 36:The breakfast - choice of Cretan and Continental, both very nice. The staff, lovely and friendly, always smiling, and even made me mountain tea when I was feeling unwell The perfect location close to everything Air conditioning Very old value for money
Review 37:The Glaros is in the centre of Paleochora, but in a quiet an peaceful tree and flower-lined street. It is run by Telemos and his family with a quiet and friendly efficiency. Katerina, his daughter, is a charming presence, serving a wonderful breakfast of fresh fruits, ham, cheese, tomatoes olives and fresh breads and pastries. Andreas, her brother, is on hand to fix any minor problem in the rooms. When our air con went on the blink, he had it sorted again in no time. He even allowed me to park my hire car in his space in the hotel drive.
Review 38:The friendly staff, value for money and the superb location. Just a few footsteps from the restaurants, bars and boulevard. And they serve a delicious cretan breakfast
Review 39:No negatives. It's a simple inexpensive hotel so don't expect 5 star facilities but it had everything we needed for a great stay
Review 40:Staff were friendly and welcoming, we had a huge balcony/terrace with our room (lucky us) and everything was done simply but well-executed. Local (Cretan) hotel breakfast was one of the best ever. Only 5 mins walk from the sandy beach and similar to the restaurants and cafes of 'downtown' - Paleochora is pretty small. We would recommend this place to anyone
Review 41:nothing bad
Review 42:• good position in town centre • clean • very helpful and willing owners • good sleep quality • parking free available nearby • wifi well working everywhere • tasty greek traditional breakfast and/or international one • books in main EU languages available
Review 43:They did something really well with the shutters, it could be daylight outside and it would feel like its the middle of the night with everything closed. Location and staff were good too.
Review 44:Room a bit small. The feel is a bit oldish, but very clean and ok.
Review 45:Kind staff that informed us about our options for our trip to the Samaria gorge; well located within the town: close to the beach, bus station, port, supermarkets, open-air cinema - Paleochora is tiny. Possibility to safely park car right next door on a public "wild" parking site. Excellent wifi quality (speed, stability). Terrace.
Review 46:Nothing to dislike! Only regret, I could not stay longer X
Review 47:Great family run hotel with warm and friendly welcome and service. Quiet location, good facilities. This place was perfect for me and provided a more than comfortable, pleasant stop. Great value for money.
Review 48:Leaving.
Review 49:Stayed 1 night probably the best nights sleep we've had in Crete as this hotel is located in a quiet area but only a short walk to the shop and restaurants .Very clean and tidy room. Staff very helpful and friendly. Our breakfast was included in price and was excellent . All round very good value hotel which we a shell endeavour to book when we next visit Paleohora.
Review 50:No guaranteed parking on-site, sometimes needed to park 5 minute walk away.
Review 51:Location was great, right in the middle of town and an easy walk to anywhere you would like to go. Breakfast was nice and convenient. This place was a really good value for the cost.
Review 52:Excellent small hotel with friendly staff. There are two choices for breakfast cretan or continental, if your a couple why not have one of each and share, there is plenty to go around. The breakfast area also has the most comfortable chairs in Paleochora. Hotel very quiet at night and very close to bus station if you chose to travel by local transport. 7.60 euro Chania to Paleochora. Rooms have all you need with very good air-con.
Review 53:- Room with third bed a bit small (but OK for short periods)
Review 54:- Breakfast (both Cretan and continental), with fresh products. - Nice Staff - Bathroom with shower - Very clean and made up - Own small balcony (useful)
Review 55:The extra charge for orange juice. Guests should be informed that OJ is not included in the free breakfast. It was added to my final bill at checkout. A sore spot in an otherwise pleasant stay.
Review 56:Aside from the lack of hot water and poor WI FI in my room it was a clean hotel in a convenient location
Review 57:When we had to pay they charge us 12,50 Euro for 2 omlettes a bottle of water when the breakfast in itself cost 3 euro x person. I think the really over charged us and this thing left us a bit disappointed.
Review 58:The owner were very friendly and the gave us a lot of tips about where to go and what to do. very nice breakfast and very nice place for the price you pay. I would come back there again!
