Reviews for Libyan Princess

Review 1:The fact that it's not a heating swimîng pool.

Review 2:We love the localisation of the hôtel , calm, and relaxing atmosphere, the wonderfull living room and the qulality of the breakfast. The mosquito net at The Window. The gym room.

Review 3:At peak season the pool would be too small for the property. Also if you like sun around early evening request a room with a balcony in the sun as the pool area is somewhat shaded

Review 4:The quality of the fittings, the total diligence of the cleaning staff and the friendly and helpful nature of all the staff. Really handy for the beaches and tavernas. The taverna right opposite the hotel is a good family effort. A good quality small boutique hotel

Review 5:Noisy rooms.Due to lack of soft carpet creates a lot of noise. In our room we could hear every posponement of furniture from our neighbors. We couldn't sleep at all.

Review 6:An other room was not available. So we left this hotel 3 days earlier. The hotel refunded without comment.

Review 7:WIFI quality was poor, connection was not good and you had to log in every day and sometimes more than once. 20 sunbeds at the pool was limited for a potential of 60 guests.

Review 8:Every a lovely and different breakfast with local greek dishes, impressive!

Review 9:Felt like a family hotel with many little children running around the pool. Would not stay again due to lack of peacefulness. We got a room next to the road, which got a little noisy in the evening and no view whatsoever, while I asked for a room with a view of the pool

Review 10:Breakfast was great Staff was friendly

Review 11:Wifi signal was poor but probably due to windy weather. Because of the lovely pool area this hotel understandably attracts families with young children so probably wouldn't be my first choice in Paleochora.

Review 12:Comfortable beds, spacious, lovely shower, book borrowing/swap library, very good breakfast.

Review 13:The wifi was a bit iffy.

Review 14:The position of the hotel was perfect for a visit to Paleohora, the air con was quiet, the room clean, the staff helpful. There were problems at the hotel when we had a major power cut and the generator failed, the staff were very apologetic and despite having no power still managed to produce a hot breakfast. We were given a 10 euro reduction on our bill because of the power problems.

Review 15:The wifi kept dropping off and you had to keep keying in the code. There was some mould on the bath sealant. Bleach would have sorted it - but the town didn't seem to sell it. Neither of these minor problems detracted from a very pleasant, relaxing stay.

Review 16:Paleochora is a charming, relaxed but scruffy town and in comparison the Libyan Princess is a haven of sophisticated glamour. It's not very big but it was great to return to civilisation each day. Our Superior room was big, clean and very practical with loads of cupboard space. The bed was large and very comfy. The bathroom was well designed and swanky with a large spa bath to sooth aching walkers' legs. We had a view of the mountain and the road which was fine. The hotel is on the main central street so doesn't look out over either of the town's two beaches but it's convenient for the many restaurants. We didn't try the pool because it was too cold (we went in late October) but it was nice to look at. Breakfast was good with lots of choice of hot and cold food.

Review 17:Absolutely nothing. Slip mats could be provided in the baths for the showers.

Review 18:Everything about the Hotel is superb. The Breakfast left nothing to desire. Even after an early morning power cut, (5 hours, all of Paleo was affected), breakfast was excellent. Apologies were made and free a free evening drink provided (no need to, it wasn't the Hotel's fault). The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The Sauna and Jacuzzi were lovely, didn't use the gym. We had 2 lovely balconies (East and West). I cannot fault this Hotel and will fail to understand anyone who complains about it.

Review 19:Room was spacious and very clean, the pool area was very nice and the staff were extremely accommodating and helpful - definitely the best hotel in Paleochora!

Review 20:- A small walk to the beach - Some people reserving sun loungers early in the morning - Wifi a bit slow

Review 21:Everything! It was really clean, the rooms were cool and had excellent black out of light which meant we slept really well. The staff could not have been any friendlier - they were fantastic and so helpful.

Review 22:1. Breakfast not up to standard - little choice, only fair quality, too little room. 2. Found some bathroom towels dirty and staff did not even bother to change them the following day. Pity because the rest of the room was clean.

Review 23:1. Underground parking is very helpful 2. Good value for money

Review 24:Only one other couple in the hotel bar over the three evenings we were there, but this was only a tiny negative point.

Review 25:Liked everything about this hotel. Small, very clean, chef took care over the quality of food at breakfast. Friendly staff.

Review 26:- very limited options in breakfast - we don't like food not being covered (we found hairs on the cheese) - very bad wifi - we don't find it professional staff being dressed as they wish (e.g. jeans) - the staff, although friendly, seemed to be very bored -

Review 27:generally, a simple and pleasant stay

Review 28:The fact that there is no carpet in the rooms made every sound be heard so loud, especially from the rooms on top and the ones near by. Our children did not travel with us but the children staying at the hotel during our stay made so much noise, we wondered if the parents had just given up.

Review 29:Excellent breakfast, clean, friendly employees, quick wi-fi, good restaurant for dinner, covered parking space, near the sea.

Review 30:Central location, stylish hotel, great breakfast.

Review 31:Friendliness , Comfort , Excellent facilities

Review 32:Just about everything , the pool was good to have

Review 33:The gym.

Review 34:views are nothing special

Review 35:swimming pool, breakfast, shower and jacuzzi bath

Review 36:Wifi wasn't very good!

Review 37:The reception desk was excellent and very helpful!

Review 38:WiFi problematic

Review 39:Staff friendly and caring; rooms convenient and clean.

Review 40:no yoghurt at breakfast

Review 41:very good price-performance ratio

Review 42:Not too large very good rooms .

Review 43:Fantastic, full breakfast.

Review 44:No working WiFi , very noisy with kids playing all around hotel

Review 45:Very clean, excellent breakfasts, not expensive

Review 46:Breakfast was excellent

Review 47:The wifi wasn't working great on my laptop.

Review 48:Very good facilities, clean hotel and lovely staff.

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Value for money great breakfast clean room comfy beds

Review 51:Lack of privacy in room, having to go outside to enter rom, very odd layout!

Review 52:Cleanliness, helpful staff, comfort

Review 53:Nothing!

Review 54:Everything!!

Review 55:Lovely staff, on every occasion they are pleasant and helpful. Great breakfast with plenty of choice.

Review 56:Wi-Fi was breaking up sometimes and there were problems signing in. But usable in general always. The beds were on weals that we didn't find a way to fix, so they were moving around when we tried to use them...

Review 57:The property looks amazing (considering the village it is located in), the room was very big and spacious, bathroom as well, sound isolation was very good.

Review 58:Longer hours for breakfast would be nice

Review 59:Liked the quiet location, just a few blocks from the main street. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.

Review 60:The staff seems not to be educated. Left early in the morning but the statf were unable to check me out. The hotel informed later my friends and told them that i had left without paying. Very frustrating. No see view and no direct access to the beach.

Review 61:Nice and modern hotel with swimingpool. Nice bar.

Review 62:Nothing really - the lobby area is maybe a bit lacking in character but is still comfortable . The hotel is on the road so some people might not like that- it certainly didnt bother me and I was not aware of any traffic noise ( very little traffic anyway )

Review 63:The staff were all very helpful , courteous and efficient . The pool area is very nicely kept with comfortable loungers and parasols. And everywhere is spotless . I would stay again and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Paleochora . We didn't use the spa so I can't comment on that

Review 64:Room little noisy( ventilation or air conditioning ) and stress for breakfast before end the time limit

Review 65:Welcome, room comfort, equipment , swimming pool

Review 66:Underground car park difficult to get into.

Review 67:lovely swimming pool, good breakfast, nice balcony with mountain view. Friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money.

Review 68:Our neighbours were quiet noisy at night, but this is not hotel fault.

Review 69:The guy who was at the desk upon check in was extremely helpful and kind, he answered all our questions and gave us tips, he made our stay very pleasant. Very comfortable bed, nice breakfast, comfortable room with terrace and bathtub.

Review 70:Bed a bit hard ! Nice pool but sunloungers not very comfortable The breakfast coffee

Review 71:Comfortable room Good and varied breakfast options Close to local amenities Pool

Review 72:Swimming pool as not much sun but who cares if you are surrounded by wonderful beaches.

Review 73:Palaiochóra worth a visit and Libyan Princess is the right place. Clean, very comfortable, and very well located.

Review 74:The breakfast choices and coffee were not of the same standards as the rest of the hotel

Review 75:We enjoyed the modern clean feel of the hotel and the pool was very inviting

Review 76:When we arrived to the hotel it was at a late hour at around 19:30 aftera long drive from herklion airport. The reception lady ( don'tremember her name but she was pretty Dominantly there) who seemed niceat the start accompanied us to a nice designed room. After she left wenoticed the the room had 2 beds instead of a double one as we ordered ,we also wanted a bath but there was just a shower and the toilet madenoises after flushing. We tried to call the lady but their phones neverworked. So my husband had to go down stairs to ask for another room. Thelady just gave my husband a key to a closer room and even had theaudacity to tell him the return the old one instead of coming herself. When we entered the new room we noticed that it was smaller than what webooked but at list the bed was double and it had a bath with Jacuzzi. The conditioner didn't work so we tried to call her again , but as Isaid their phones never worked. So I went downstairs my self and toldthat to the lady. She answered that the if the balcony will be closedthan it will work. I replied that we didn't open the balcony andinsisted that she'll come for her self since the phones aren'tworking there and we were Exhausted! So after making a face she came. What a nerve! I must add that there was a constant noise of Tzatzikibugs at the hotel, and at night we had noises of a machine, maybe itcame from the air conditioner. So it wasn't that pleasant. The samelady from the reception didn't want to replace our beach towels whenwe asked for, just after making a face she did so. I can also add thatwe got 4 towels at our room but the maid kept changing them just for 2 -so it was pretty annoying since their phones doesn't work and youcan't call them to ask for towels. The bed was a bit hard for me.

Review 77:Me & my husband stayed at the hotel for 5 nights at June 2013. ourroom was nice with with a bath that had Jacuzzi. I liked the design ofit. The breakfast was verified and the pool was nice. I must point out avery nice reception worker - Dmitri that helped us a lot when we askedfor tips and even made a few calls to help us. We liked the port ofpaleochora, the nice restaurants at the main road and the sandy beach. It's a small village that hasn't lost it's traditions.Paleochora is also a good place to go from to the amazing elafonissibeach! It takes an hour with a car or an hour withe the ferry. I canalso recommend the nice restaurant in-front of the hotel. Slow servicebut great food! To con-cloud we really liked paleochora! I'm surewe'll return. As for the hotel it was nice, I'd give it 4 stars.

Review 78:Garden bit tatty - needs a gardener to keep it trim

Review 79:Good clean comfortable room - road view but v quiet with good double glazing - good AC. Great breakfast

Review 80:Staff not really up to the job of running a high-class hotel. For example we were trying to find out information about the nearby national park. They seemed unwilling or unable to find out details or arrange bookings on our behalf. So when we asked what times the buses ran, we were told that the bus station is just a hundred yards down the road. I would expect any decent hotel to have copies of timetables to hand - or to call the bus station or send someone to go pick one up. Similarly we were told where we could find a travel agent or taxi shop in town but no assistance was available beyond that. I would expect even the cheapest hotel to pick up the phone and find out basic information about the biggest tourist attraction on the island.

Review 81:The building and facilities are all very nice.

Review 82:Memorable vacations!Relaxing atmosphere, delicious breakfasts with hugevariety of local products. Friendly and helpfull staff, comfortablerooms with great design features, very clean.Congratulations LibyanPrincess team we will come back soon!

Review 83:All balconies faced either a road with houses opposite or the pool, offering no privacy and lacked a sunshade. Breakfasts were very poor and repetitive, cold coffee.

Review 84:A well run, efficient, clean and stylish hotel. It had very comfortable beds and good bathroom.

Review 85:Although this hotel has everything one would expect from a 5* hotel: a refreshing design, neat & clean rooms, new and luxurious bedlinnen, a good quality bed, deluxe amenities, proper A/C, a nice bar, plentiful breakfast, a morning-heated pool, quality pool-furniture and an overall cleanliness, it is the helpful and truly friendly staff that make it an unique experience. The location is off from the main tourist tracks, but allows for exploring the region (parts of walkway E4, Samaria Gorge, Mount Gingilos, Sougia, Elafonisi beach, Loutro and with some creativity Balos beach, Chora Sfakion & Imbros Gorge) without having to suffer from mass-tourism. It is an excellent hotel for an active yet luxurious vacation on Crete that could also contain some days pool-side lingering.
