Reviews for Iraklion Hotel
Review 1:Very good and helpful staff and management ! The hotel manager gave us another room free of charge, due to the fact that there is no space to fit a cot.
Review 2:The only friendly person was a young lady in the street, she guided me to the hotel
Review 3:The location in the center area is perfect, you can walk to /from airport bus X95 to the hotel
Review 4:Great location, easy walking distance to all sights and restaurants. View of the sea from the bed and balcony. The room is very clean and tastefully furnished. The bathroom is spacious and very clean, we specially appreciate the powerful hot shower. Buses to the airport are just across the street. Breakfast is buffet style and very good value. The staff are friendly and easy going,we asked for a late checkout and stayed till 4pm.
Review 5:The street where the hotel stands is noisy, especially because of loud music form cars, but when you use earplugs, it is ok.
Review 6:We really liked that synthetic pillows and real blankets were available in rooms. Internet was fast and reliable and bathroom was clean and comfortable. City center was 5 minutes walk.
Review 7:Noisy into the night because of city centre location. However acceptable at price and nothing can be done about this anyway.
Review 8:Very helpful staff at reception. Great breakfast
Review 9:Might get a little loud due to the street and airplanes, but with closed window it was totally fine.
Review 10:Location very central, friendly staff, balkony with sea view, good (buffet) breakfast
Review 11:Bed is hard, like all other greek beds.
Review 12:Very helpful staff. Helped us call a taxi, and hold onto our luggage when we went out for most of the day, even though we were long checked out of the hotel. Accommodated our really late check in as well. Location is close enough to everything.
Review 13:- Very friendly staff - Great facilities for what you pay - Location is great as it's about 15 min walk to town centre; 20 min walk from bus station A - Wifi worked really well
Review 14:The street where the hotel is, is noisy, in the night also. Triple room is not big enough for a long stay. The balkony floor was dirty, maybe because it goes out to the street.
Review 15:Close to main sightseeings of Heraklion, including beautiful 25th August str. We booked the hotel for one night as we had a very early departure from Heraklion's aiport. The rooms were tidy and have all needed for a short stay, the personal helpful. Good variant for a short stay.
Review 16:The room didn't have a safe. View from 2nd floor balcony was not interesting.
Review 17:This should be considered 3-star hotel, not 2-star. I stayed for 1 night in a single room. It had the largest bathroom for a single person that I have found in a Greece hotel. Most of the time they are small and cramped but this was not. It was kept clean and wifi was good. The location is very good - only a short walk to Lion Square. If you have heavy luggage you need a taxi to get to/from port or bus station. (costs €7 and €5, respectively) Staff was nice and offered me free breakfast which was a good mix of german and continental.
Review 18:Very nice hotel. No complains. We had some trouble finding it in the city, but this is a feature of the city rather than issue with the hotel itself. If you are driving, take my advice - park immediately, as soon as you approach the hotel. There is a private (non-hotel) parking just a few meters away from the hotel. 5 EURO a day. I did not park, trying to unload the luggage first and check-in. As a result I was forced to make a ONE HOUR loop in the horrible narrow inner streets. Park and then check-in and bring your luggage.
Review 19:I surprized by the location, extremelly centrally located in heraklion. Excellent choice for someone that looks for good value for money trip to Crete
Review 20:Shower, for someone broad built and 191cm, it was hilarious.
Review 21:Second cheapest hotel that was available on a quite a short notice. Clean, and staff was nice. Would ago again, since it was cheap.
Review 22:The road outside the hotel is very noisy with motor bikes racing along the road all night
Review 23:Nice place in the centre of Heraklion and close to the airport - pity about the noisy road
Review 24:Hotel located on a main street, lots of traffic noise, however the windows do a good job isolating the noise.
Review 25:A very clean Hotel, very Kind staff, offering eveything a modern traveller needs.
Review 26:no.
Review 27:The location is quiet nice, actually. It is only 10-minute or less walking to the Lion Square. Friendly staff and quiet rooms (some with great ocean view).
Review 28:The main road outside was very noisy, with the local youths showing off their unsilenced motorbikes until late in the evening. This is NOT the fault of the hotel of course, and we may have been unlucky with the single evening we were there.
Review 29:The receptionist was particularly friendly and helpful.
Review 30:The parking is actually on the street. The bathroom was generally clean except for the overflow hole in the sink which was absolutely ghastly. The mattresses had springs piercing my body.
Review 31:Location
Review 32:Nothing. Note if you are concerned about noise from the street ask for a high level room as we had no issue with noise.
Review 33:In the heart of town! The bus from the airport gets you there in less than fifteen minutes. The staff are very friendly and the room has everything you need. For it's price it exceeded our expectations.
Review 34:More of a business hotel an holiday
Review 35:The hotel was very clean and tidy, it was great for a one night stop over. No facilities but it's not needed With the Centre on the doorstep. Breakfast was lovely.
Review 36:Air-conditioning a little fierce - woke up cold. Might have been helpful to have some instructions.
Review 37:Excellent breakfast. Friendly & helpful staff. Large family room was clean & comfortable
Review 38:The Kalokerinou road is rather noisy: get a high floor. No parking.
Review 39:The hotel is located in the city center and is near all the attractions of Heraklion. You can reach it by bus from the airport (get off at Elevtheria Square and then walk for around 5 minutes).
Review 40:Needs BBC or CNN on the TV (only SkyNews in English). Lots of noise from door slamming and scraping of chairs and furniture on the floor, since the floor is tiles!! Otherwise, cheap price for the high season.
Review 41:The hotel is good value for money, especially in August when there were lots of tourists. Reasonable room, good air con, OK breakfast, can't ask for more for this price. Fairly centrally located in Heraklion.
Review 42:facilities are kind of limited
Review 43:friendly staff, we were firstly assigned into a street-side room but after asking, the staff managed to give us a better room not bad location
Review 44:The hotel is located along the roadway. Around is the atmosphere that was deserted. small flies in the bathroom there were many . They were out of the wash basin of the drainage ditch. And towel had a stain.
Review 45:Amenity had soap and shampoo. the room was clean.
Review 46:Nice hotel, very well located, close to the city centre but in a quieter street. All necessary facilities are available and the staff is really kind and helpful.
Review 47:No tea/ coffee making facilities in room but staff made me coffee, a required.
Review 48:I went for business but took full advantage of its central location for leisure activities. A clean centrally placed hotel with friendly, helpful staff and daily chambermaid service. Cheap, Independent, secure parking just next door. Very good buffet breakfast.
Review 49:The localization of the hotel is perfect. Good facilities and rooms. Very nice people in the reception of the hotel. They help us with everything, include the rent a car.
Review 50:We felt very welcome the two times we arrived. Even if it was the peak season for tourism. We highly recommend this hotel. The room 501 has an amazing view on the roofs, ocean and mountains.
Review 51:Standard pillow was a little too big, but was easily fixed.
Review 52:Stuff went the extra distance to accommodate any request. Hotel is conveniently located to everything. Very clean.
Review 53:Uncomfortable beds in Greece. A foam topper would greatly reduce the feel of springs. But you get what you pay for and their rate was very fair.
Review 54:Staff was extremely helpful and available 24 hours. When we saw the room, small as it was, we were pleasantly surprised by its clean, contemporary feel. Excellent air conditioning during a got, humid spell saved us. Nice breakfast with Greek yogurt, basic deli meats and cheeses, eggs for protein, often lacking in continental breakfasts. Great value at edge of pedestrian zone.
Review 55:The food was fine but the not best selection and could be more exciting
Review 56:The staffs are really service minded and are really helpful and kind. You can always talk to them and ask any questions and they will do their best to help you.
Review 57:The hotel is on one of the main streets in the city, so it is very loud, all the time day and night. We had a room facing the street and it tookus some time to get used to the noise. The room was fairly small.
Review 58:The stuff was extremely helpful.
Review 59:The narrow corridors, the bad cleaning and our suspicion that there was bedbugs there (not confirmed yet, could be my paranoia over some strange rash). The general feeling of a outdated place.
Review 60:The architecture of the rooms was quite intresting with a clever but tiny bathroom. The staff were a bit clueless but helpful. There were a nice bakery on the street.
Review 61:Triple room was small. The single bed looks like a sofa bed added into double room. No water flask to boil hot water. Location is slightly far from port though walkable but not with luggage. Cab to port costs 6 to 7 euros which is expensive considering it was only a 5 min ride. Shower cubicle is tiny.
Review 62:Friendly staff and clean room.
Review 63:It was in general a Nice place, although not as good as pictures may seem! Staff was very kind and helpfull! PLEASE NOTICE THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY THERE AND ONLY IN CASH!
Review 64:The noise. We had a room with street view and we couldn't sleep almost all night. The water had no presure when we arrived.
Review 65:Near the hotel it's a parking place where you can let your car. The hotel it's near (by foot) to the arheological museum.
Review 66:I had a pleasant stay for one night. The view was nice as I requested my room to be at an upper floor. The staff was vey nice by hepling me recover a lost item.
Review 67:The receptionist came out to the street and hep us find a parking stuff, carried my big luggage to the hotel. I appreciated this very much after a long drive.
Review 68:The hotel would have been better if there was power during our stay, which was not their fault, however we did have to ask for some kind of compensation, in the form of breakfast.
Review 69:Nice location, very clean, and kind of gives a sea view from the balcony. Great value for money. Staff is polite and accommodating. Basic amenities given in the room. Hot water shower was great for us. We had a good sleep.
Review 70:Very central location of the hotel. They offered us breakfast free of charge when we arrived. I ll sure visit it again next time i ll be at heraklion.
Review 71:As the hotel is situated on one of the busy streets ii is somewhat noisy. The breakfast is good but could be improved with some fresh fruits.
Review 72:The hotel is located close to the centre of the town. Bus station B is 10, and bus station A some 15 minutes away on foot. All the receptionists are very nice and helpful.
Review 73:Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Room and bathroom clean. Reasonable choice for buffet breakfast. Short walk to archaeological museum. Bus stop for bus station and airport just across the street.
Review 74:Fabulous location, close to shops and restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good although inclusion of low fat milk, low fat yogurt and fresh fruit would be great.
Review 75:everything was great!
Review 76:Their staff was really kind and really helpful with every question we asked. The hotel was in an excellent condition and very clean
Review 77:Missed a trashcan in the room
Review 78:Nice place with all luxury you need. Extra nice : Take the bus 1 from the Airport for only € 1.10 and you will get to the hotel. No taxi needed :-) Within very short walking distance of all the fun.
Review 79:Location downtown , close to the the best place to take a walk in the evening and go to restaurants. People who work in the reception are very friendly and able to give all the information you need. Near the hotel there is a closed and safe parking where the guests pay only 5 euros/day.
Review 80:The bed was too much uncomfortable. The room was too small. The air conditioner wasnt clean.. So the air comes from air conditioner disturbed us all night. There was no seperator in the balcony with other rooms, therefore we had to lock the door while sleeping.
Review 81:Bathroom was clean.
Review 82:The room was a bit narrow, so was the balcony, but it doesn t bother if you re not going to spend much time in the room. Ps barriers between rooms in the balcony should be more high, for terms of safety and privacy.
Review 83:Nice location, excellent choice for a clean place to sleep at night an take a bath, if you re most of the day out;)
Review 86:The hotel had adequate facilities but the room was small for two people.
Review 87:The staff was very friendly and informative. The hotel situation is ok since the walk to the harbour is 15 minutes and to the bus to Knossos only five. Breakfast is ok.
Review 88:The hotel is on the Main Street, so noise is a factor to consider.
Review 89:The staff couldn't be more upbeat and helpful. It was. 10 min. walk from the KTEL bus station A, and the same to the archeological museum a and bus to Knossis. The cab to the ferry cost 5€s.
Review 90:the Hotel is located with-in walking distance of the Irakleon center and attraction. the Staff was nice and helpful. there is a parking very close to the hotel - a rare comodety in that area.
Review 91:the hairdryer wasn't working well on the the day we checked out
Review 92:The receptionist has been extremely helpful. He ensured that we have a smooth check in. the best of all was he recommemnded us to a local restaurant called ligo krasi opposite Venetian port-the best meal we had in Crete!
Review 93:This is a very good hotel if your trip is for business or pleasure. The location is great as you are too close to the city centre and close enough to the bus station and the port. There is a parking station just beside to the hotel which is very convinient. My overall feeling is that u would defenetly visit it again.
Review 94:This hotel is well worth more than the 35 euros I paid as a traveller alone. I got an excellent, modern room with an oceanview. The bed was very comfortable, the room was very dark even during the day, and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast was also much better than the other budget places I stayed on Crete. The bus stop to catch the bus to the airport is also right across the street. This was the best value for money I found on Crete.
Review 95:Just one niggle - the coffee at breakfast was very weak, as was the orange juice.
Review 96:Great value, very welcoming staff, good location. Room very clean, bathroom bigger than some other hotels in the price range. Good choice of food at breakfast.
Review 97:Staff could not be more pleasant and helpful. Lovely people. Very well located for shopping, bars, restaurants and museum. Very clean, room and fresh linens provided regularly.
Review 98:It's not in a picturesque street - but very convenient and suited us fine as a one-night stay after flying in.
Review 99:Good value, breakfast fine, friendly staff. Our room on the 4th floor had a view over the buildings to the sea and was reasonably quiet. 5 minutes' walk from the square and a good selection of tavernas. Bathroom fine with plenty of hot water. Feather pillows - hooray!
Review 100:Nothing.
Review 101:This hotel is super clean, very comfortable, in an excellent location and bargain priced. The WiFi was excellent. The staff were all quite friendly and helpful. The bus from the airport stops directly across the street. The hotel location is right in the heart of the old town. I like this hotel.
Review 102:If you want to sleep with open window, probably it's a bad idea because it can be noisy outside, even at night. Wi-fi is sometimes very unstable.
Review 103:Convenient location in the centre of Heraklion, nice staff. The furniture is in good condition, enough power supplies to charge several devices simultaneously. Air conditioning is available and works well.
Review 104:I had a very good stay at hotel Hiraklion. The reception staff very helpful and supporting. Nice room kept very clean. The hotel is very close to the center of Hiraklion so everything is in a walking distance. Very good breakfast with sweet and no sweet food. I do recommend this hotel.
Review 105:Near a busy street. Thin walls so I got a good idea what neighbours' relationship problems were.
Review 106:Clean and relatively cheap. Friendly receptionists.
Review 107:The room was very small, no cardboard or anything where to hang or put clothes. Not even enough space on the floor to put the suitcase. Bathroom also very small and not so clean. ( Hair from former costumers or staff) Wi Fi not very strong. Breakfast has to be paid extra but was not good value for money as very small variety and basic quality. Breakfast room not very cosy to sit. Old and very cheap chairs and tables gave the room a very cold atmosphere like a waiting room in a bus station.
Review 108:The Hotel is situated inside the inner walls of the center on a main road. To the very center of the old town it was a 10 min walk but fine.My room faced the back side and was quiet. From the balcony I even had a farer sea view. The staff at reception and breakfast both was friendly.
Review 109:The bathroom has an odd configuration. I had to shimmy behind the sink and next to the shower to use the toilet. The tiny bathroom is really a shower room because there was no barrier around the shower (although there was nothing to protect your toiletries from the spray). The bed was too firm.
Review 110:The hotel is within walking distance of several historical sites and the sea. The staff will answer any question.
Review 111:By no means limited to this hotel, I have seen this a bit this trip, but the shower is just a base with no screens or curtains, so when you shower, water goes everywhere.
Review 112:Staff were friendly and the location was good. It was easy to get to and quite close to the main pedestrian street where many of the sidewalk restaurants are.
Review 113:The city, Heraklion was okay for a couple day stay and then smaller quaint villages better to stay. Sights were interesting, city dirty and poorly kept - little pride evident. The hotel was fine.
Review 114:Hotel was close to sights, decent and clean room with generous bathroom though shower was very small. Staff was always pleasant and helpful.
Review 115:Staff helpfulness was minimal - nobody went out of their way to give good service Wi-fi was generally poor in the room
Review 116:Good location, close to heart of the town The room met all the basic requirements and was fair value for money.
Review 117:We had an unintended stay at Iraklion hotel when our ferry to Mykonos was cancelled because of bad weather. We dealt mostly with Gregory at reception and he was fantastic and very helpful. The room was fine, adequate with no frills but with enough room for us to be comfortable. The location very convenient. We enjoyed our stay here
Review 118:As with other hotels in Heraklion, the rooms are small and the location is somewhat noisy, on a busy road. Most annoying is the lack of a kettle in the room to produce a hot drink.
Review 119:The Iraklion Hotel is an ok hotel not far from the center, functional but not much else.
Review 120:Our room on the second floor facing away from the main street was still quite noisy, due to wild nightlife Heraklion leads. Noise easily reduced if one does not mind sleeping with air-condition unit on!
Review 121:Excellent location in the town center, adequately furnished room, fair breakfast.
Review 122:poor quality breakfast
Review 123:Good for short stay, great position to visit the city, clean, easy parking nearby (5EUR/day), hotel partly renewed, spatious rooms and bathroom, comfortable bed
Review 124:Very friendly stuff, ready to solve all your problems New hotel with new modern furniture Situated in the center of Iraklion Next time I'll be in Iraclion for sure I'll stay in this hotel!
Review 125:Breakfast was so so, lack of fresh fruit and the coffee was like coloured hot water and tasted terrible, almost worse than uk coffee
Review 126:Staff very friendly and helpful, room clean with good matrass and air conditioning system working well, good quality fridge in the room.
