Reviews for Aris Hotel
Review 1:The room was very comfortable, modern with an exceptional high standard of cleanliness and furnishings. The small friendly family run Hotel is only a short easy walk from the town centre, but it is in a nice quiet location with its own pleasant garden. The owner and family were delightful and so helpful. Great value for money with a delicious breakfast included.
Review 2:Nothing wrong! Just keep going!
Review 3:Beautiful hotel with a lot of love for details Just a few steps from the old town Very friendly and helpful staff Breakfast just delicious
Review 4:nothing negative to say
Review 5:Very charming and calm, rooms 'bungalow' style in the middle of a lovely garden/patio, nice breakfast, helpful staff
Review 6:Very very good breakfast. One of Paleachora best restaurants is 2 minutes walking from the door. The centre is a five minute walk away. The rooms are very nice and the bed very comfy. Nice helpful staff The private parking is indeed parking on the street/nearby lot, but there was no problem finding a spot 10 metres from the hotel :)
Review 7:The breakfast could have been better. Not enough fresh fruit. Tinned fruit is unacceptable. Cheese slices also unacceptable. Should be a selection of cheeses. The eggs were excellent though.
Review 8:Loved the location and the peaceful night. Views were amazing of the sea. Friendly staff and room very clean with interesting decorations.
Review 9:I must say, nothing was wronng with this small but smart Hotel
Review 10:I liked everything! this is a really fantastic Hotel: we had such a great time, the staff are helpful, the position is close to the sea and just outside the centre, a short nice walk by the sea. Breakfast is super, fresh produce, high quality, abundant too. Free wifi really works, the rooms are very nice. the garden is incredible with these sculptures scattered around, full of flowers and aromatic herbs..... a dream!
Review 11:We had a "family suite" as we were four adults and a baby. This consisted of two rooms where you had to go from one room into the next (meaning that one had to go from one bedroom into the other to get to the bathroom). The room also had three yet very narrow balconies with not enough space for more than two people to sit at a time. All in all not very convenient. Had I known I would have preferred to at least book two separate double rooms even if perhaps more expensive.
Review 12:The hotel is in Paleochora. It is clean and the room was nicely made. Breakfast was also good with freshly squeezed orange juice every day.
Review 13:Neighbors slamming doors in the morning....
Review 14:Far enough from the center and the noisy and yet close enough to go by foot (5min) Nice and modern Good breakfast
Review 15:Best location in Paleochora, kind and helpful staff (told us which beaches to go to and lent us a parasol because we didn't have one), quiet and peaceful, attention to detail in the rooms are a nice perk considering the very reasonable rates.
Review 16:Nothing. All was very good.
Review 17:We were very pleased with everything about this hotel. It's small and cute, quiet, close to the beach, very clean and comfortable. All in all we had a very good stay!
Review 18:Very good location, beautiful garden, nice view, they cleaned the rooms every day. Breakfast was great and served fresh orange juice. Couldn't wish more. :)
Review 19:The bathroom and shower were rather small.
Review 20:The setting with rooms accessible from the outside in a flourishing garden is very welcoming. The breakfast buffet is fresh and provides plenty of choice.
Review 21:You tell an artist was involved in the refurbishment of this hotel; rooms beautifully designed and lovely gardens. Good breakfast served by friendly staff.
Review 22:The rooms are well laid out and very clean, the garden is lovely and the breakfast is delicious. The staff are wonderful and very attentive. In addition the guests are very respectful of each other in upholding the tranquility!
Review 23:The hotel is lovely with an amazing garden and close to the local beach and restaurants. The staff was super and made us feel very welcome, we had a really great stay.
Review 24:- Room had no windows and bathroom had a funny smell (but they do have AC, but I don't like to sleep with it) - Breakfast was mediocre
Review 25:- Location, attentive staff
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:We loved the location at the end of the road near the sea and liked the unusual Art Deco style of the hotel. It is wrapped around and interwoven by lush garden planting. Our upstairs room had a balcony that looked over bell flowers and bees. The bathroom was large and the breakfast excellent. Lovely extras included large bar area, free use of wifi, laptop and printer. The manager was exceptionally helpful in pointing us in right direction to get rental car wheel put back in shape after nasty encounter with pot hole. We are already planning our next visit.
Review 28:We choose Paleochora as our base for walking the Samaria Gorge. As the bus for the gorge went 06:15 the ordinary breakfast times did not suit us. Therefore Mr Aris gave us a key to the dining hall and prepared a big breakfast for as with bread, coffe, energ bars, drid fruits, etc. etc. It made ur day much easier and we were very thankful for his great service!
Review 29:Our balcony was a bit small and the room got very hot and airless - the a/c cooled it down but left it very stuffy.
Review 30:Nice location at the quiet end of the town, though still only 10 mins walk to the centre. Pretty garden. Good buffet breakfast which you can eat inside or on the outside terrace. Nicely decorated room.
Review 31:The bathroom but still it was clean and functioning.
Review 32:The bathroom could be renovated but it is still ok. The staff is nice. The price is ok but we had a special offer : less expensive + breakfast for free.
Review 33:The hotel is further along the penisula from the town centre, but it is an easy walk and nice to see a bit more of the area. The rooms weren't very large, but had AC and were thoroughly cleaned.
Review 34:The hotel was located very close to the water with easy access to various beaches and swimming spots. The family that ran the hotel were extremely helpful, welcoming, and nice. The breakfast was definitely worth the additional cost as it was equal, if not better, than what was available at other nearby places.
Review 35:Rooms were a bit tight for 2 adults and an 11 year old child, could have done with more space. Breakfast was okay but could have done with a bit more fresh fruit.
Review 36:Location, staff very helpful and like the fact that they weren't 'in your face!'. Hotel grounds very quirky and looked like a lot of thought and effort had gone into the design. Rooms small but comfortable. Cleanliness of hotel was excellent. Price very reasonable
Review 37:The location at the edge of paleochora city very nearby the sea and beaches, a short walk away from downtown. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was so kind, even send me back to France the swim short i forget in the room.
Review 38:noise isolation is very week the room had no window except the door(so if you want to be locked at night then you have no fresh air). both applies to a budget room with direct entrance from garden.
Review 39:excellent breakfast, good quiet location, beautiful garden nice staff
Review 40:No major complaints. The rooms & balcony areas are not the largest - but they are quite adequate.
Review 41:Location is quiet but also near enough to walk to everything. A good base from which to explore. Friendly amenable staff. Cleanliness.
Review 42:Nothing - there is nothing not to like.
Review 43:Everything here is top class. It's a quiet oasis only 5 minutes walk to the centre. Fabulous breakfast buffet. Coastal. Owner is extremely helpful.
Review 44:abandoned building facing the sea
Review 45:- near the sea - near town center - very good starting point for the Gorges - excellent staff - fridge and kettle in the room -vegetation around the hotel
Review 46:Nice People. Good quality breakfast.
Review 47:bathroom a bit small, but very nice and modern.
Review 48:very nice bright room with a big and comfortable bed. good breakfast. everything walking distance.
Review 49:-

Review 52:Great location, very helpful staff extremely clean, plenty of free parking, 2 minute walk to small beach
Review 53:Friendly helpful staff, nice room with a top view.
Review 54:Breakfast variety, with local goods.
Review 55:Very chilled out little place in great location. Clean and tidy it did everything it needed to and the staff did more than that!
Review 56:Lovely garden and nice peaceful surroundings, and close to water front restaurants.
Review 57:Really friendly English speaking staff! Highly recommended
Review 58:the garden, the beach is nearby
Review 59:Beach too far away.
Review 60:Friendly staff, nice surroundings. Clean and proper
Review 61:I liked everything, very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel had a really good location and it was clean and comfortable.
Review 62:Aris is a very nice and helpful person. Breakfast is really good!
Review 63:The dining room was too hot in august.
Review 64:The kindness of the staff. Good breakfast.
Review 65:not good breakfast
Review 66:Normal price for normal service
Review 67:ola to progeyma itan katapliktiko!
Review 68:near the centre, nice beach, good breakfast, wifi for free
Review 69:No complaints.
Review 70:A nice hotel with lots of little stylish touches in the interior decor. Good quiet location in a beautiful town.
Review 71:Great location, very clean, nice garden, relaxed atmosphere. We'll definitely stay there again on our next visit to Paleochora.
Review 72:Very helpfull owner , great location
Review 73:everything was just perfect!!! we'll go back for sure!!! tnx for everything! :-)
Review 74:We didn't get clean water glasses and mugs daily. It was not very convenient to find them dirty after room cleaning when you want to have a tea or glass of water.
Review 75:Great location. Very nice breakfast places near by. Pleasant building with neat garden.
Review 76:Difficult to stop the shower soaking the whole bathroom.
Review 77:Quiet location within easy walking distance of shops and beach. Useful clothes line outside. Buffet breakfast had choice and included fresh orange juice.
Review 78:This hotel has a nice quiet location with idiosyncratic sculptures in and around the garden. Breakfast was lovely - particularly the range of dried fruits and breakfast biscuits.
Review 79:The breakfast was to be served at 8 o'clock, but the serving staff arrived too late every morning.
Review 80:Great breakfast buffet! Friendly and very helpful staff! Shiny and beautiful hotel! Lovely garden.
Review 81:Distance from main street, very dark to have to walk back late ifyou're alone. Beds very hard, I had noticed this on other reviewsand thought people were being too fussy. Hardest mattress I have slepton. Dreadful! Breakfast is a buffet, looks very unappetising anduncovered which is not good as it's there for hours.
Review 82:Quiet, clean, cheap. Good place if you're just looking for a no-frills clean room for a few nights.
Review 83:We liked the whole atmosphere and the helpfulness of the staff. And we loved the breakfast with its good coffee, boiled eggs, fresh orange juice and good bread. We also liked the location with different kinds of beaches nearby and a lot of good restaurants. The beds were very good and the bathroom clean and modern.
Review 84:Balcony was very small and when asked if it was possible to change the room, the staff member was very patronising. Said that i should concentrate on enjoying our holiday and the room was just fine for us. We would have paid the difference for an upgrade.
Review 85:Design of the hotel was really nice and very quirky.
Review 86:Complimentary toiletries would be useful.
Review 87:Good location by the beach. Quiet, but close to all amenities.Comfortable, well positioned rooms with balconies.Friendly, helpful staff and owners.
Review 88:There was an awful smell in the room, we booked double bed, instead of that our room had two single beds. Old fashioned furniture, the external door was made of glass and there was a curtain for privacy, so there was no light in the room. They didn' t change the towels and sheets (we stayed for 2 nights). The bath was uncomfortable and the curtain had a weird smell. Not a good value for money.
Review 89:Nice garden, nearby the center of the town
Review 90:Noisy in the rooms during the night you can hear neighbours speaking in their rooms as well as outside so if you like to sleep in you'll have problems doing so after 8 am. Small and smelly bathroom. Glass door to the room leaving it completely visible after you leave it. Very ugly area far from the village centre
Review 91:Staff were friendly and welcoming. Cheap
Review 92:Nothing - I loved the place!
Review 93:Light, airy, beautiful garden giving shade, very relaxing, great location - near sea, quiet; lovely breakfasts, staff very welcoming and helpful.
Review 94:The rooms vary a lot from below ground level to higher with good views. Need to specify what you want.Ours was fine as we knew what room numbers to ask for !
Review 95:Everything. Tidy, clean rooms especially bathroom. I understand they are planning a major refurb over the next 12 months. Our room didn't need it so some may require attention. Real friendly family business.
Review 96:Any room on the ground floor can suffer from occupants above making disturbing noises - i.e. the scraping of chairs, and dropping things on their floor without consideration for those below.
Review 97:Quiet location on the edge of town.
Review 98:Toilet facilities very cramped - toilet seat cracked so sitting was uncomfortable. The shower produced a puddle around toilet which never drained away. (Staff said toilets to be replaced next year). The window did not shut so no security from open balcony.
Review 99:Appealing appearance of hotel. Very helpful chap at reception desk. Bedroom was tight but had sufficient hanging space and chairs.
Review 100:The only things that we did not like were the hard mattresses and the hot water for showers was not very hot.
Review 101:The Aris is in a good location, the staff were very friendly, and the room was clean. Very good value for money. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Very nice location and well kept grounds.

Review 113:very friendly and helpful staff, nice brackfast and Location, very clean
Review 114:share balcony, entrance from balcony - no privacy, bathroom no window, no tv
