Reviews for Mountain View House

Review 1:Breakfast was terrible the worst we have ever experienced in Ireland. The bed was too small and the sheets and towels in room were worn and thin. The owner was extremely rude and unpleasant. Room was cold and the time we were there it was nice and sunny.

Review 2:Location

Review 3:No toiletries provided in the bathroom, despite them being mentioned in the Booking.com description. No credit cards accepted, despite them being mentioned in the Booking.com description.

Review 4:Beautiful house in convenient location, with fairly easy parking. Good breakfasts.

Review 5:€ 40 per person per night. Do not check in here to this grossly overpriced Falsely advertised B&b . Landlord was totally unfriendly . Probably wished he was somewhere else. Said "If you want to write me a cheque right now you can have this place. " On check in we were asked for payment in cash only & not given the option to use a credit card as advertised on site. we were also given a menu for breakfast and asked what we wanted for breakfast . When I asked about Wifi I was given an 086 number as password. This did not work. He took the phone out of my hands in a most condescending manner and proceeded to try himself to set it up to no avail commenting on my choice of provider. Following Breakfast in the morning we were presented with a menu and asked what we wished to have for breakfast the following morning. The scowl from the man was priceless when we told him where to go and get real. The following morning I spilt some muesli and he and his staff were very efficient in cleaning it up. The three minute boiled eggs were perfect. Then came the final insult. On finishing our breakfast we were asked would we be having a shower. On returning to our room we couldn't even wash our teeth as the water was turned off. Wifi does not work here. There are lovely coffee shops in Dungarvan where Wifi is free and you are given the password in a most welcome manner.

Review 6:No toiletries in the shower.

Review 7:Very clean Good strong shower Good choice for breakfast Quiet Comfortable Very close to the town centre Easy to get to Friendly staff

Review 8:Room smelt musty, shower needed updating, seals dirty, damp behind window shutters. We stayed in 3 other B&B whilst in ireland and this was the worst.

Review 31:Mould in the bathroom. Wifi did not work. We felt unwelcome at arrival.

Review 32:Good position. Quiet but anyway near to town center

Review 33:Can't really fault anything.

Review 34:Very friendly welcome, when we arrived. Room was spacious and clean. Ten minutes walk from town centre was ideal.

Review 35:- Breakfast was possibly reheated - Was a little bit further out from town centre

Review 36:- Good parking facilities - Friendly hosts - Pleasant area

Review 37:Its nothing special. Functional.

Review 38:Cleanliness

Review 39:Lovely old house very pleasant people n really nice breakfast.

Review 40:The owners , as they are trying to sell the business, the lack of interest showed. Poor T.V and the room needed some attention.

Review 41:position of B& B. good for the town.

Review 42:Whilst the wifi was a bit troublesome at first, Tom willingly gave us the time to resolve and get a connection. Thanks Tom.

Review 43:The location was great for access to explore the town, just a short walk away. Parking on site and easy driving from out of town. Ideal for our short break to explore along the coast. Tom & Breda looked after us well as did the weather.

Review 44:no wifi.tv had 2 channels that you could not hear, breakfast small and rashers were off colour and very fatty,

Review 45:room was clean and warm, shower was a nice size.

Review 46:No shelves or hooks in the bathroom. Toiletries very reluctantly given on demand. Bread for breakfast very reluctantly given on demand. Bed covers too heavy.

Review 47:Nice place, character.

Review 48:it lacked "warmth" from the manager and the entrance felt cold. a little bit of heating would have been very welcoming.

Review 49:the beds were very comfortable, the breakfast was ok. location was very good. the housekeeper was very helpful.

Review 50:This property is for sale and the owners have mentally checked out. Nosoap or shampoo in the showers. Wanted full payment, preferably in cashupon arrival. Didn't provide much in the way of local advice unlikeother guest houses we stayed in. But biggest issue was they entertainedloud guests until after midnight on a Wednesday night making sleepimpossible. Despite several attempts to quiet them down, we just had tosuck it up until they were done. The following morning the owner seemedembarrassed but I felt his offer of 20% off of our next stay was a tokengesture meant more to ease his conscience than really make things rightwith us. Overall this place was the only bad experience we had over 11days in Ireland. Until this place gets sold to a more caring owner, Iwould pass.

Review 51:House is clean and comfortable overall. Located in a quiet neighborhooda short walk to heart of town. Breakfast was good.

Review 52:Some of the eating establishments within walking distance close a 5:00 pm.

Review 53:Within a 3 minute walk of Dungarvan town square. Efficient courteous service. Comfortable bed. Peace and quiet. Attractive surroundings and a lovely room. I especially liked the oatmeal porridge in the morning.

Review 54:Boss/Owner very helpful.Stayed there for the Sean Kelly tour of Waterford charity cycle and he made sure that my bike was stored in a safe place, locked into back yard.Great traditional irish breakfast. Will stay there again.

Review 55:On arrival we had to pay upfront by cash that was not advertised that you had to pay via cash only which we did not budget for and had to take more money out of the bank than expected. The rooms has very limited space in the wardrobe and in the bathroom no space to put your toothbrush. Breakfast was not the best quality that I have eaten.

Review 56:the rooms were very clean and comfortable, walking distance to the town.

Review 57:Slightly further from Dungarvan town centre than I expected, but easily walkable, around 5 to 7 minutes, as I did not want to drive when going out for a meal in the evening.

Review 58:Mountain View is a fine restored Georgian house with good breakfast included and is well placed for driving to attractions such as Lismore Castle, Mount Melleray Abbey, the Vee as well as scenic routes along the south coast. Dungarvan has a good range of places to eat, some of which are beside the attractive small harbour.

Review 59:breakfast was very early 8-9:30am, very basic and got impression staff/owner anxious to get guests on their, cleaning/hoovering in full swing by 10am.

Review 60:liked olde style house, was very easy to find, well signposted, close to town, shower very good.

Review 61:Having to leave!

Review 62:I received an email from Tom, the proprietor, within minutes of booking online. I asked some questions and he responded immeditaely. The guest house is beautiful and and the town is fantastic too. Tom was the perfect host. I really loved this house.

Review 63:The room was cool during the stay, as was the initial welcome. Thetoilet needs seat readjustment which should have been detected at thelast cleaning. It was interesting that payment was wanted as soon as wearrived. That in itself was not a problem, but after a week in IrelandB&B's where everyone wanted a chance for a last conversationupon leaving, the request came across as a bit fear-based. Just thesame, if we returned, we would stay here again.

Review 64:The location is an easy walk to town.

Review 65:Fantastic location. Within walking distance from all the hotspots.

Review 66:It was a beautiful house in a quiet position but we were able to walk into the town.

Review 67:Great location and very comfortable. dar and tim

Review 71:lovely ppl there and very close to centre

Review 72:there is nothing to say it was all good

Review 73:the staff very nice there and the breakfast was vey nice and hot and I would stay there again

Review 74:The bed and the pillows were below par.

Review 75:The house was lovely

Review 76:A breakfast menu with a wide variety of choices. Fast WiFi in the rooms.
