Reviews for Bunratty Villa B&B

Review 1:The B&B was within walking distance of Bunratty Castle and a short drive to Shannon Airport. The Owner went out of her way to welcome us and even out out a continental breakfast so that we would have something to eat before our early morning flight. The beds were very comfortable.

Review 2:Only wish the heat came on a little earlier in the evening. After a cold day of golf, it was chilly in the room until 9pm.

Review 3:The beds were the best we encountered in 2 weeks of travelling around, and so were the scones for breakfast.

Review 4:Cleanliness, water in room, friendliness of all their staff, so hospitable, beds very comfortable, nothing is too much trouble. Accommodate children very well. Would stay again 100% and recommend to friends.

Review 5:This was our first night in Ireland, and it definitely set an amazing time for the rest of the trip. Very comfortable, lovely breakfast, and can't beat the location if you're going to visir Bunratty.

Review 6:We felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for...from dinner recommendations to the most comfortable room imaginable and a delicious breakfast to see us on our way.

Review 7:Nil

Review 8:Location Beautiful Meticulously Maintained Clean Awesome breakfast Forgot my I pad Jackie the owner and her mom, family are the best Jackie was happy to mail the I pad to Dublin

Review 9:What a wunderfull place and the owners were so kind and helpfull and at my 50th they surprised me with a birthdaycake to the breakfast. We will be back :-)

Review 10:This was the best B&B we stayed in during our trip. The facilities were beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a better location, so close to the Bunratty Castle. The food was excellent and the staff was top notch!

Review 11:A wonderful innkeeper, friendly, outgoing, bent over backward to help. Made sure we had a cab to the airport next morning - and called them when they were a few minutes late! The facility was beautifully decorated, comfortable and secure, the food was very good. Can' say enough good things.

Review 12:Our hostess was exceptional, and literally went that extra mile, insisting on driving us to and from our dinner at the castle, and providing a welcome tray of coffee once we had settled in. Conveniently close to the castle, but a very quiet rural location with ample outdoor areas for guests.

Review 13:We didn't stay more than one night

Review 14:Mom, the Inn Keepers mother is a "hoot", I wish she was myMom. It was another b & b we should have stayed more than one night.Very close to Shannon airport and a beautiful castle.

Review 15:The facility was well decorated, designed to meet the needs of the traveler. It was a short walk, or drive, to restaurants, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, and a short drive to the Shannon airport.

Review 16:The hospitality was excellent. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the ambience of the villa and all of the family were so hospitable, I would recommend this B & B, definitely deserves their 4 stars.

Review 17:Nothing!

Review 18:Staff are very friendly and acommodating, even dropped us over to the nearby hotel where we were attending a wedding. Breakfast was great, good choice and nice to have freshly made scones too!

Review 19:Very kind and helpful hosts; we were greeted with cup of tea after long day of travel. Comfortable room, great shower, delicious breakfast (had smoked salmon and eggs -yum!) Short walk to bunratty castle but road is dark at night so care should be taken.

Review 20:We had no bad experiences here. We would recommend this B&B to everyone traveling to western Ireland.

Review 21:The Bunratty Villa is beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The Villa is run in the traditional style of B&B s, with excellent service and delicious food. it truly is the best buy for your money.

Review 22:Pity the full address isn't listed... We had to stop at the castle ticket office and as they weren't familiar with the place they agreed to call and get directions and it turned out to be only 200 meters away! The rooms are a bit small although they did give us the choice of the 2 available rooms when we arrived but there wasn't a very big difference and we chose the smaller upstairs room with a better view!

Review 23:The location is very convenient, the staff were very friendly and helpful and plenty of space in the bathroom.

Review 24:There was nothing that we didn't like.

Review 25:This was, without a doubt, the best B&B that we have ever stayed in. From the friendliness of the staff, to the clean and comfortable room, our stay was beyond pleasant. The beautiful view, and the best breakfast that we had in either Scotland or Ireland this year, made our stay there complete.

Review 26:Fil was a most gracious hostess, the rooms are perfect size for traveling, she couldn't do enough for us. Easy walk into town, very reasonably cost.

Review 27:Small but workable. Tricky to find - the street is actually at the base of the castle, next to pub. Looks like a driveway.

Review 28:Great breakfast, nice folks, pretty grounds/flowers

Review 29:nothing

Review 30:Everything! The owners are terrific, helpful and very friendly. There was a great reading room where Phil served us tea and cakes upon arrival. The bed and bedroom was very comfortable, terrific location, within walking distance to Bunratty. The breakfast was wonderful. We stayed for 4 nights and highly recommend staying here! It was the highlight of our 2 weeks in Ireland.

Review 31:A little out of the way but it provided a nice quiet country atmosphere. The owners were very friendly and even offered a cup of tea as soon as we got there. Good advice about pubs for the evening meal and about places to see.

Review 32:My room was excellent: all of the facilities were perfect. I slept in a most comfortable bed and the peace and quiet of Bunratty Villa was very much appreciated. I enjoyed the full Irish Breakfast after a great night's rest.

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:The owner and her daughters are wonderful people...very accommodating and friendly. The beds are very comfy. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was very good. I could not have asked for more.

Review 35:Wonderful room and very comfortable beds. Great towels and linens, and a lovely breakfast. Owner and family very warm and helpful. The beds were the most comfortable of our trip

Review 36:bunratty villa is wonderful,we we made feel very welcome by phil. Its spotlessly clean, in a lovely location, just ten minutes from the castle. The breakfast was great, I had Salmon and scrambled eggs my daughter had pancakes and maple syrup and my husband a full irish. all yummy.would recommend to anyone. .thank you to Phil for a lovely stay.

Review 37:What's not to like? However there were no two prong electrical outlets in the rooms, and we didn't have the three prong for use for charging cameras etc. We had neglected to bring that adapter.

Review 38:Location so near Bunratty Castle and central to many other attractions

Review 39:Not a smudge or a speck of dust. Beautiful carpets and decor. But what we liked most was our hostess, who was welcoming and conscientious about making our stay a good one. Oh, and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 40:Stayed twice during our trip, the day we arrived and the night before we flew out of Shannon. The owners where more than accommodating they made sure our trip would start and end with the best of Irelands hospitality. Breakfasts where wonderful, beds comfortable and house spotless and grand.

Review 41:We loved everything!

Review 42:"Fil" the owner and host is committed to personal attention and care of each guest. She made each guest truly feel welcomed & valued; almost like family!

Review 43:room is small and you can hear everyone who crosses the hall

Review 44:the staff is nice and informative, the villa is beaytiful, great access to bunratty castle very good breakfast great value for money

Review 45:Nothing. All great, though needed co-ordinates on the sat-nav to find it, tucked away beyond Bun ratty Castle.

Review 46:Impressive house, comfortable bed, lovely breakfast, warm welcome.

Review 47:The rooms were very small, and no space to set out your own things. Would suggest they remove the items on the dresser so guests can have some space and put some shelves in the bathroom.

Review 48:Very nice B&B, and friendly owners.

Review 49:That we couldn't stay longer!

Review 50:Where to start? I can hardly say enough about this place. We stayed first after arrival in Shannon and again the last night before leaving. Location is great for that but the atmosphere and everything else was much better than any other B&B's we stayed at during our visit to Ireland. The hosts, Jack and Jackie were quietly efficient and they watched the details (fluffy towels, lace doilies, perfectly folded napkins, and the finest breakfasts we had, etc, etc...) but the "Lady of the House", Philomena, (and I mean Lady in every sense of of the word) really made this the place to stay in Ireland. It was almost embarrassing to us how much she wanted to accommodate our every small desire. Please don't hesitate to engage her in conversation...she just loves the guests and she was soo helpful. If we ever go back to Ireland this will definitely be our first stop again.

Review 51:There is no way that I could list everything I liked best.. It was our last night in-country, and it was the perfect way to end our stay.. We'll DEFINITELY be back!

Review 52:Staff was so welcoming, accommodating, efficient. They definitely care about doing a great job and it shows! My husband and I had an excellent time, and he especially loved the full Irish breakfast that is already included in the price!

Review 53:We loved our stay at Bunratty Villa B&B for many reasons. The hosts were extremely accommodating and welcomed the very early morning (5:30 am) arrival of part of our family group with early check in so that they could rest up from the overnight flight and a delicious breakfast prepared several hours after the regular breakfast hours. This was so helpful to the family traveling with children and much appreciated by all. Our rooms were very nicely decorated, great showers and the beds were so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. We highly recommend Bunratty Villa B&B to anyone traveling to Clare County. It's very close to many sites including Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle and much more.

Review 54:We were made very welcome on arrival. Facilities were lovely with very comfortable beds! Owners were quick to help with retrieving our car key which slipped down in car trunk. Many thanks!

Review 55:Nothing. We liked everything.

Review 56:Our hosts, Jack and Jackie were very nice and accommodated our needs immediately. They served wonderful breakfasts. We loved our stay at the wonderful B&B.

Review 57:Where do I start. Jackie the owner is amazing. It was raining and we didn't have any transportation so she came to pick us up from town. Ran us back in for the Bunratty castle banquet and picked us up when we were done at 11PM . The room was so homey and comfortable. The towels were oversized and plush, And she even gives you washcloths. Which was much appreciated cause other hotels in Europe don't give you washcloths to use. Breakfast was wonderful. She made us homemade pancakes and fruit. Then when it was time to leave she drove us to the bus stop. She was wonderful and very much appreciated. You must stay here if you want the best experience ever

Review 58:The people at Bunratty Villa are so friendly and nice. They treat you like you are a friend and they go out of their way to make you feel special and welcome. The food is wonderful, and the décor very very nice. We will never stay anywhere else when we fly into Shannon. We enjoy everything about Bunratty Villa. Especially Phil and Jackie.

Review 59:I stayed 2 nights and didn't get much of a hot shower.

Review 60:Nice rooms, clean and comfortable. Located up the road from bun ratty castle. Wonderful host. Good breakfast.

Review 61:Jack, Jackleen and Phil were the most wonderful hosts that anyone could ask for. Their B & B is first rate and their suggestions on what to see and the directions on how to get there were great. We will stay there every time we are in the area.

Review 62:Can't think of anything

Review 63:Friendy, cordial greeting upon arrival, with tea and sweets. Very nice, clean, comfortable room. Nice tv and WiFi in room. Very good breakfast. One of the best B&B's we've stayed in. Very convenient to Shannon Airport, will stay again.

Review 64:Everything. This was our 2nd visit here and it was as good if not better than the 1st time. Fantastic location, lovely lovely owners of the villa make you feel so welcome. Irish breakfast second to none! View from our bedroom window just awesome, looking out across those fields full of ponies and the mountains in the distance, doesn't get any better. Brilliant base for Bunratty Castle and of course Durty Nellies pub (well worth a vist) also very close to Shannon Airport. We will most definitely be back very very soon.

Review 65:The shower water pressure was weak, and water wasn't very hot in the room I had.

Review 66:A very nice b&b, quite and beautiful setting. 2 minutes to bun ratty castle

Review 67:While the B&B is only an 8 minute walk from Bunratty castle, it's not a walk recommended in the dark without a flash light! Bring a torch or book a taxi!

Review 68:Friendliness of staff - very helpful & welcoming. We had a family wedding in a hotel down the road and so got up well past breakfast time (actually check out time) and were still offered cereals/tea/coffee! Excellent hospitality!

Review 69:Philomena and Jackie were amazing and made us fee so welcome on our honeymoon. The only place we stayed at that gave us in-room tea and coffee. The decore was fabulous and comfortable--great location and impeccibly clean!!

Review 70:There were problems with the hot water. It was like warm at first and manager had to turn on "boosters." It warmed up for my wife but the warmth declined as I used it.

Review 71:Quiet. Drive down the Low Road from Bunratty Castle. The breakfast was very nice. It's a good spot to relax before catching the flight out of Shannon.

Review 72:A very easy to locate B&B in a great location Can walk to the castle the local pub and tourist village Beautifully fitted out and very comfortable Breakfast was great and all the staff were loverly

Review 73:Nothing.

Review 74:Phil and Jackie were wonderful! Phil served us tea and biscuits on arrival, the only b & b to do so. We had a few requests which were immediately addressed. The towels were thick and soft, beds comfortable with beautiful linnens. Breakfast was fast and delicious. We walked to Bunratty castle to attend the banquet, then walked back with flashlights after dark. The drive to Shannon airport was less than 10, with a gas station on the way. It couldn't have been a better stay.

Review 75:We arrived earlier than the check in time. We were escorted into a lovely front room where a pot of tea and some biscuits showed up until our room was accessible. The room was clean and lovely, a real treat for us. It is walking distance to the village, the castle and lots of restaurants and shops. We cannot say enough about this lovely B and B!

Review 76:this home was so elegant in furnishings and in the room. The towels and bed sheets were of the highest quality. The property was stunning with mountain and valley view and very peaceful, yet only minutes from Bunratty castle and Shanon airport. The owners went out of their way to make is feel at home.

Review 77:There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Review 78:The B & B was wonderfully close to Bunratty Castle for evening entertainment and only 10 minutes to the airport in the morning. The hosts were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to help us get in touch with a friend. I would definitely stay there again.

Review 79:Hard to find the street......need to know to turn at the castle.

Review 80:We were accommodated with an early departure with breakfast ready at 7:00 am. (Instead of the regular 8:00 am service.) How thoughtful our hostess was! Would definitely stay there again.....very peaceful!

Review 81:Hated to leave!

Review 82:This place was just wonderful. Cozy, elegant, friendly, welcoming. The host could not have been nicer. Just a short walk from the castle. Best Breakfast, possibly ever.

Review 83:Family that ran it were warm abd very generous and welcomed you into their home. Location was peaceful and surrounded by countryside. House was very clean and we'll looked after. Room was a good size with everything you needed. Breakfasts were multi choice, excellent quality and and set you up for the day. A home from home where you could relax in peace.

Review 84:having to leave !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review 85:Owners and staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. breakfasts were superb, rooms excellent, location in a quiet country lane but convenient for getting around ,15 minutes to airport.

Review 86:The water pressure in the bathroom shower was very low. Looks like it is like that everywhere in Ireland. We took a half hour shower after coming back to Texas :-)

Review 87:Fil is a very nice woman. She has such a great sense of humor..We had great fun conversing with her. The B&B is in a very tranquil location about a minute drive behind the Bunratty castle. Would love to stay there again

Review 88:Can't think of a thing! An Irish welcome at it's best!!

Review 89:Phil welcomed us warmly even though we arrived quite early, and went out of her way to get us settled in lovely rooms. The food was delicious and the whole experience was wonderful. Will recommend the Villa to everyone & look forward to another stay as soon as possible! Madge & John - Long Island, New York

Review 90:We loved everything about the Bunratty Villa B & B. I am really fussy and this was truly the best B & B we stayed in while traveling Ireland. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bedding was a white down comforter. You could smell the bleach in the updated bathroom. The towels were really fluffy and of high quality. We were surprised at how quiet it was there too. We were exhausted at this point in our trip and slept well. The dining room was very nice - updated, modern touch. The service was very friendly. LOVED this place! I would highly recommend it.

Review 91:Location close to Shannon airport was our first reason for choosing Bunratty Villa. Excellent reception, very helpful with our bicycles, wonderful staff/family, great breakfasts and very comfortable beds.

Review 92:perfect location walking distance from bunratty castle. Great views from our room, easy parking, great breakfast, spacious bathroom, everything was clean and nicely decorated. this was our last stay before heading to the airport. Very convenient drive 5-10 min from shannon so would be a perfect first or last stop. Staff was very welcoming. looked like a very upscale place for a great price.

Review 93:The room was a bit small for our family of three, but otherwise itwas great!

Review 94:The owner was wonderful. She was friendly and hospitable; she went outof her way to provide us lots of information. She provided us tea andsnacks on our arrival. This friendliness and hospitality is exactlywhat I remember from my B&B experiences in Europe from years ago,but haven't experienced this in a while. A lovely, quiet locationclose to Bunratty Castle, which was very convenient to Ennis and theShannon airport.

Review 95:Shannon itself is beautiful, but small. Spending a night there was wonderful. Spending more time might have been a bit boring.

Review 96:Staff was excellent and amenities were great.

Review 97:Nothing at all.

Review 98:Jackie welcomed us on arrival with a cup of coffee and a biscuit, which was soo welcome after travelling. Our room was comfortable, and clean as was our bathroom. Jackie was exceptionally helpful regarding tips for places to eat and travelling around the area. Breakfast was wonderful! This was a home away from home.

Review 99:That we didn't book more nights to stay longer.

Review 100:Beautiful and luxurious B&B set in the countryside. The family who runs this is so friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I'm so glad I listened to other reviewers and made sure this stay was part of our trip. We had a great experience and will definitely stay here again. We were sad we did not stay longer.

Review 101:Bunratty Villa B&B was simply stunning. The staff were so helpful and attentive. Our room was beautiful and clean. Very good breakfast. Bunratty is a tiny place but this B&B was a brilliant find and a gem.

Review 102:Nothing, only good things to say.

Review 103:It is an excellent place to stay. Extremely friendly, excellent breakfast, very nice rooms and the view is amazing. The best place to stay in Bunratty.

Review 104:Location great for exploring western Ireland. Bucolic view yet only a few miles to highway. Breakfasts were delicious, plentiful, and lots of variety. Free wifi. Nice hot shower and washcloths with the fluffy towel sets (Americans will appreciate this). Helpful and friendly staff went out of their way to make us feel at home. We had to leave early on last morning for a flight so they prepared us a breakfast we could eat in our room.

Review 105:This B&B was very comfortable. The furnishings were beautiful and of a high quality. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I've stayed here before and rebooked this year because I've been so satisfied.

Review 106:Nice but not overly friendly. A bit stiff, felt like you had to speak in soft tones at breakfast.

Review 107:very clean, beautiful setting. Great food at breakfast.

Review 108:Water pressure was very low, the toilet needed coaxing to flush it, and the shower was very weak. The room was a bit small.

Review 109:The location is 15 minutes from the Shannon airport, it is also within walking distance to restaurants. The hosts were very helpful and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was very good. It was quiet. If you want to visit the Bunratty Castle and folk park, it's 2 minutes from here. The bed was comfortable.

Review 110:The interactions of the owners. The cleanliness. My husband is 6'3. And I am 5'8". The bed could have been bigger - but oh well. Nice place and people.

Review 111:Room a little small for 3, next time will get 2 rooms.

Review 112:Location and the breakfast was great!
