Reviews for WelcomHeritage Panjim Inn

Review 1:Rooms could be bigger for the price, hotel staff at reception is quite unfriendly and not that helpful.

Review 2:Rooms are clean and furnished in late Portugeese style. Food in the restaraunt is good and not much overpriced.

Review 3:the rooms face the main road and it is very noisy in the morning. Also they serve only instant coffee (powder). It is surprising that they do not have a good coffee machine.

Review 4:Very nice property, romantic, cute and so on. Heritage building

Review 5:Staff were neither friendly or helpful. When you asked basic questions or for advice/help it felt like it was resented. We stayed 2 nights. The room was not cleaned during that time, no new water or toilet roll delivered. Food was ok.

Review 6:Nice room. Panjim is a lovely city.

Review 7:We saw a cockroach run across are bed which put the hotel in a bad light. Other than that it was fine.

Review 8:Good breakfast and really nice decor! Good location.

Review 9:Most beautiful little Hotel. Restaurant has great food and our short stay was very relaxing. Easy to walk to centre and across the river. Safe and quiet.

Review 10:based on 'value for money', apart from the location 'which admitedly is a factor' it was definately overvalued. I would not stay here again, except maybe for 1 night while i looked around for better value in the immediate area.

Review 11:location

Review 12:TV in the room was at an odd location on top of the cupboard and very difficult to view

Review 13:close proximity to public transport.staff excellent. breakfast good

Review 14:Toilet needs to be improved There is a smell in the courtyard near the dining hall sometimes.

Review 15:The old Portuguese style building and the ambience of the Verandah Restaurant. The Superior category room was very good though it lacks a bath tub.

Review 16:Very good location for the Fotainhas and Sao Tome' areas. The hotel is quite quirky and interesting. The room was nice and we loved the bathroom with its crazy-mosaic tilling.

Review 17:nice historic portuguese architecture . historic furnishing.. ....calm, small, not a large facility... somewhat remote to sights, but tuk-tuk taxi nearby... .viva panjim restaurant nearby!

Review 18:need more veg. dishes in the verandah restaurant..u can not enjoy good food with so limited veg. dishes, even doors need to hv door closer of old style to match with the outlook of the hotel.......all wooden cupboard require enough length to hang the clothes

Review 19:the entire set up, the way it has been preserved & taken care of...

Review 20:This is only a suggestion.I would appreciate more clothes hanging hooks or a rack to hang clothes in the Bathroom.

Review 21:The Hotel had a homely atmosphere and the ambience with the antiquesfilled in were a visual treat which we rarely get to see. The staffwas courteous and helpful. The food in the restaurant -Verandah wasvery good.

Review 22:The check out time was a bit early (10 AM).

Review 23:The place is centrally located, well maintained and with good staff. Has the heritage/vintage look and feel.

Review 24:Power cut in the night for 3 hours. They shifted our room to other floor. Breakfast is limited and staff is not interested to serve. Bed made too much noise as it was an old furniture.

Review 25:Great location, good interiors, clean and old Portuguese charm for free.

Review 26:This is an excellent hotel in the Portuguese quarter in Panaji. Its like in the heart of Goa. The decor is excellent. Rooms are clean with perfect blend of old decor and modern amenities. Staff is super friendly and very accomodative. It is an excellent value for money.

Review 27:From check in to check out eveything was good no complaints at all.

Review 28:Having stayed at almost all the five star deluxe properties in Goa I was apprehensive about a random internet find. I was there to attend a wedding and had to be in Panjim. The hotel was cute and very well located, extremely comfortable. Staff was very polite and helpful. Got a free upgrade. Bed was super comfy and I slept very well. Excellent breakfast. Good shower pressure and really hot water sometimes that even five star hotels fail to provide. All in all an excellent stay.

Review 29:nothing

Review 30:We spent a night in this hotel as a stopover (we flew in from Mumbai with the intention of moving on to the south of Goa the next day). The facilities in the room were great, the hotel staff were very helpful, in particular the receptionist who explained to us how to get to the main bus station. The hotel neighbourhood seemed good & safe. Breakfast was good & buffet-style. Wifi worked well.

Review 31:Not enough tables in the restaurant for residents to have a meal or a drink.

Review 32:We arrived very early from travelling overnight, we're invited to have breakfast, after which our room was ready and we where given an upgrade to a beautiful room. Lovely evening meal in the restaurant.

Review 33:more attention could be on better cleaning of furniture and artefacts not just in the rooms but public areas also .

Review 34:location very pleasant. staff helpful as possible but not very knowledgable

Review 35:I booked fur 4 nights a standard room - the fourth night they had not a standard room available so they offered me (what they called )a superior room - the cost of superior room was almost the double but it was only a bit larger - but it was very noisy for the traffic and also to go to the bathroom you had to go out through a little terrace .... Not so convenient !! They should charge me not for superior room as they did !!!!!

Review 36:breakfast could have been better.

Review 37:Loved the old part of the town of Panjim and the situation of the Panjim Inn. Slightly shabby but absolutely delightful old world charm. Would highly recommend to others.

Review 38:Intermixing of utensils, cooking ware between veg-non veg. Cleanliness of serving staff. Many times noticed them picking nose(sic) while serving.

Review 39:Ambience and proximity to downtown street

Review 40:They offer laundry service - do not use this. It is expensive and you will get stained clothes in return! Restaurant was expensive, there are other good restaurants close by (i.e Viva Panjim)

Review 41:Clean rooms with a helpful staff. WiFi is good. I would come back!

Review 42:Other. Than My. Short stay. .. I missed. The. Place. Great place to be around. For. True Portuguese. Goans..

Review 43:Ambience and the feeling of being at. Home is what. Makes. The place. Wonderful. A very simple and hospitable staff without which no. Stay. Is. Complete.

Review 44:The smell of the garbage from the nearby river which spreads to the hotel during early hours of the day. I suggest the hotel to work together with the neighborhood to find a solution to this environmental pollution.

Review 45:Friendly and respectful young staff. Food and the the price of food.

Review 46:Food let the whole experience down. Didn't finish our dinner. Good indian breakfast and omelette but the fruit was off and the coffee is Nescafé.

Review 47:Very attentive staff, good attention to detail lovely decor

Review 48:The staff at the restaurant is excellent but they are working 3 shifts and are really tired at the end of the day. Something to be done...

Review 49:Excellent cuisine at the restaurant Veranda

Review 50:The smells of the Mandovi River that waft through from outside mixed with other diesel like fumes made me us a bit nauseous.

Review 51:Architecture and furnishings of the Inn. Very clean hotel. Comfortable bed, and spacious room if you book deluxe room rather than standard. Great location and ambiance. Freshly made to order breakfast.

Review 52:The staff were wonderfully attentive and helpful and the hotel itself is completely stunning. Location is excellent and the restaurant serves up the best dishes in Panjim

Review 53:My bed was hard, the electrics worked but a bit marginal

Review 54:The building and contents has great character and is in a good location within Panaji - the staff lovely. The necessities were well covered - as long as one is not after a gym, pool etc

Review 55:-No dedicated parking spot. One has to park on open narrow roads. -Rooms are not too spacious. -The windows in our room opened to a busy road, from which we had traffic noises in busy hours.

Review 124:Maybe boring for families with kids as there are no activities to do here.

Review 125:We stayed at Panjim Inn for two nights this week and I have to say that this was a Goa experience like never before! The property is cosy and steeped in history and culture! My first experience with Panjim Inn was over the phone when I called them from Mumbai to ask about the rooms and other facilities. The gentleman who answered my call was so courteous and forthcoming with information that I was convinced that we had to stay here! From then on we were just counting our days to reach Goa.When we arrived, the reception staff knew our names which showed that they too were expecting us. We were overjoyed when they upgraded our room to the deluxe category. Our room was spectacular! A spacious room with an elaborately carved bed and period furniture in the form of the dresser, cupboard and easy chairs simply took our breath away. Try and stay in this room, it was truly a relaxing and enchanting experience for us.We also had an evening snack in their verandah restaurant. The menu is an eclectic mix of local goan and continental food. Do try their goan sausage chilly served with goan bread. The view from the restaurant is lovely - surrounded by period furniture and curios from a bygone era, overlooking the People's hotel belonging to the same hotel chain. The People's inn also houses the gitanjali art cafe which displays art works by local artisans and sells coffee table book collections by artists like Mario Miranda. Our package included breakfast which was served at their cafe on the ground floor. We were happy with the spread of eggs to order, pancakes, cereals and fresh fruits, tea and coffee. Indian breakfast options like poha, puri bhaji & parathas are also available. We went for countless walks around the hotel - the fontainhas area of panajim. The beautiful and colourful Portuguese and Hindu houses & villas make you feel you have been transported to a different time and place.
