Reviews for The Courtyard Guesthouse

Review 1:very minor complaint and it wouldn't stop me from returning, but the tea had an unpleasant after taste

Review 2:The room was lovely. good quality mini toiletries. The staff were friendly and helpful

Review 3:Convenience to Bunratty, incredible room, great host couple and a wonderful breakfast. No question they deserve the 9+ You have to wonder who gave them less than 10.

Review 4:Nothing...

Review 5:Very nice owners! Great tasty breakfast, just perfect start of the day. Free SecureD parking. Very fast wifi internet. Comfortable bad and bathroom. Just perfect every way!

Review 6:The decor is slightly dated but in great repair

Review 7:Walking distance from Bunratty Castle and several good resteraunts. The rooms are large and the breakfast good/ample

Review 8:The bedroom's doors are not soundproof at all so you can hear everything. If you don't expect a super comfy mattress it will be just fine

Review 9:Mary was so nice and helpful! The B&B is close enough to the castle to walk. The breakfast was very good and the room really clean.

Review 10:The location is quite unique. Walking distance to Bunratty Castle and Working Village and shops and other tourist sites. So very interesting. We had a huge room, everything was first class and so comfortable. Mary, the owner, such a lovely friendly lady, gave us lots of information about the area, and where to go on leaving. This was one of the best B&B's we stayed in and wished we could have stayed longer. There are a few places to choose to eat at, we had dinner at J.P.Clarkes Country Pub, a2 minute walk from the Courtyard and it was excellent.

Review 11:The decor was a little dated and in our opinion the beds were not very comfortable.

Review 12:It was very convenient to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. The owners were friendly and breakfast was lovely.

Review 13:None

Review 14:This was one of the best places we stayed in Ireland. The location was great, close to activities, food, pubs, and the airport. They served a great breakfast. I would recommend this location to anyone,

Review 15:The owners were wonderful people, warm, welcoming and very helpful. This was our first trip to Ireland and what a wonderful treat! Great location to Bunratty Castle.

Review 16:No tea/coffee facilities in room. Not a biggee but something we enjoy.

Review 17:Friendly staff is always a plus and they were also very informative about the local area. Plus, breakfast was great!

Review 18:Adorable BnB in a lovely area, incredibly helpful hosts, I was only staying 1 night but was made to feel so welcome, on finding out I had an early flight the next day I had a taxi booked before I knew it and offers for breakfast cereal to be left out to help myself in the early morning. The room was clean and just what I needed, and just down the road from bunratty castle and a few pubs and restaurants nearby. I had a great stay here, definitely recommend. Perfect end to my stay in Ireland.

Review 19:pillows were too flat and low. I got a bit of neck pain next morning. Need thicker pillows

Review 20:hot showers, cleanliness, comfy beds, very friendly staff. Great breakfast.

Review 21:Nothing really I found bed a little hard.

Review 22:Excellent location for visiting Bunratty castle, lovely country pub next door. The proprieties were lovely, accommodation very clean and lovely breakfast.

Review 23:No negatives.

Review 24:Close to Shannon airport, walking distance to restaurants and pubs and Bunratty Folkpark. Accessible to other sites in County Clare. Super clean and comfortable. Friendly proprietors.

Review 25:I have stayed at the Courtyard several times before and always enjoyed the comfortable and care shown by the owners Mary & Michael. The rooms are clean and comfortable, great shower. The breakfast menu is cooked to order.

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:We were welcomed by very friendly staff. The place is very well kept. They room was imaculate. The location was excellent, close to everything worth seeing in the area.

Review 28:Short, very uncomfortable beds with one folded over old blanket and them, walls very thin, noisy, too close to motorway. Breakfast poor, small. More a upmarket hostel than bed and breakfast. A huge disappointment.

Review 29:Parking and wifi

Review 30:I loved our stay so much! The most impressive quality I would like to highlight is the customer service: I have been contacted in advance of our trip to double check our preferences :) The service was unique - with high level of empathy and anticipation of our needs.

Review 31:Not much to dislike. It's a great property!

Review 32:The Courtyard Guesthouse is a purpose-built B&B on the grounds of Bunratty Castle & Folk Park and within about 10 minutes of the Shannon Airport. The owners are friendly, welcoming and helpful. The B&B is easy to reach and has plenty of parking on the grounds. Our room was large and comfortable, and there was a an inviting guest lounge just down the hall. Breakfast was good, and the price was right. This is a convenient and comfortable B&B, and we will definitely stay there again when in the area.

Review 33:Great location, short walk to Bunratty Folk Park and Bunratty Castle. Very comfortable with large rooms, a very friendly staff who went out of their way to help us get settled on our first day in Ireland. Breakfast was lovely, parking is ample, and WiFi is free (using it now to post this review!).

Review 34:Michael & Mary who run the B/B were very friendly and looked after us very well during our stay. The room we stayed in was spotless and nice to relax and sleep in so well done to them.

Review 35:We were welcomed to our first night in Ireland with a gracious hospitality and attention to all of our needs. We felt like we were staying with family.

Review 36:A very well presented hotel with warm, friendly owners. I visited on my own with my young baby and the owner checked that the room was on for my needs and also booked me a taxi. I was only disappointed that I didn't get to try the breakfast as I had to leave super early.

Review 37:We were made to feel welcome from the moment we knocked on the door, Michael and his wife were perfects hosts and couldn't do enough for us... Hotel type room with plenty of space and spotlessly clean.. Great Irish breakfast. within 4 minutes walk of the Castle and all the other attractions..

Review 38:This immaculately clean B & B is about 10 mins from Shannon Airport and located right next door to a great restaurant/pub. Bunratty Castle is right down the street as well. Beds are comfy. Proprietors Mike and Mary are very friendly and serve up a mean breakfast! We loved continuing our authentic Irish experience up until the second we left. Enthusiastically recommend!

Review 39:Nice quiet B&B. Mike & Mary were very friendly. Breakfast was home cooked, not some process line whipped up uo good. Easy walking distance to the Cadtke, Folk Park and Durty Nellys.

Review 40:Didn't like that we needed to checkin before 6pm, thats very early. The beds didn't have any duvets, only blankets which were not enough to stay warm.

Review 41:Very friendly proprietors, very happy to help

Review 42:The owners of this beautiful establishment clearly take a great deal of pride in their business! It shows in every way from how immaculate the rooms are to how much time they are willing to spend with you to ensure your time in Bunratty is everything you could possibly ask for. OUTSTANDING! !!

Review 43:Nothing. We liked it so much when we stayed upon arrival in Ireland that we booked it when returning for our departure from Shannon two weeks later.

Review 44:The facilities, the hosts, the breakfast, the rooms, the lounge, the location. Clean, comfortable and very welcoming. Good wi-fi connection. Close to Bunratty Castle.

Review 45:Just some friendly suggestions to make the guesthouse even better: 1) to add a blackout shade behind the curtain would block the sunlight coming inside the room in the morning; 2) the bathtub is a bit too high for senior tourists to get in.

Review 46:The location is in walking distance to the Bunratty Village and Castle. We arrived late so both the village and castle were closed but still bright enough to see the nice surroundings. The seafood restaurant next door recommended by the lady owner was excellent. Thanks to her also for her good and clear advice to our itinerary for the day. The breakfast was excellent both in terms of taste and quantity. Fresh whole fruits as bananas, apples and oranges are available on the help yourself table.

Review 47:beautiful little guesthouse, large room (but without tea & coffee making facilities), cozy lounge, beautifully designed breakfast room, friendly hosts Mary and Mike. Pub and good restaurant directly next to the guesthouse.

Review 48:In addition to a perfect location, with a castle for a neighbor, Mary and Michael are hosts that make sure you feel right at home; and can't do enough for you. Every room is spotless and beautifully appointed.

Review 49:My family and i visited the Courtyard for just one night and we were disappointed that we didn't have more time to enjoy the beautiful house and area. The hosts were charming and breakfast was great. I would highly recommend the Courtyard

Review 50:Michael and Mary are wonderful people. Their place is fresh, clean and comfortable. Good Wi-Fi, parking and location. This is our second time here for a total of 14 days and yes, we will come again. Of course a great breakfast prepared by the fine host. Thank you Michael and Mary

Review 51:Not much room for toiletries in the bathrooms, but the shower was very nice.

Review 52:Hospitality and location. The owners were very friendly and accommodated our request for an early breakfast so we could eat before our tee time at Adare Manor. There was also a very good and inexpensive restaurant next door, but the best part was the B&B was within walking distance (1/2 mile) of the Bunratty Castle and the original Durty Nelly's Bar and Restaurant. We attended the Irish Night Banquet in the evening for a Medieval-style dinner and entertainment for 54 Euros.

Review 53:The Courtyard is beautifully decorated and furnished. The room was clean and well-appointed. The breakfast was excellent. It is very close to the bus stop going to the Shannon airport.

Review 54:The beds left me wanting for just a bit of softness...kinda hard

Review 55:Breakfast was awesome Rooms were spotless Hosts were busy and considerate Location was incredible

Review 56:The mistress of the Courtyard was not very friendly. She first quoted us a cheaper price which was paid ----then when she realized her mistake, she didn't want to give a receipt for what was paid extra.

Review 57:It was walking distance to Bunratty Castle and Durty Nellie's. It was very confortable

Review 58:Probably could use a paint job soon in the room we stayed in.

Review 59:Easy to find, good restaurants nearby, close to the airport, but most of all the staff was incredible!! My wife and I stayed there for our last night and they even went out and got scones with jam and gave them to us personally that night as they knew we were flying out the next morning.

Review 60:This is the best B&B I ever stayed in. Very nice and helpful owners, beautiful and spacious rooms, functioning and quick wifi. Courtyard is well located (literally 5 minutes walk from the Bunratty Castle and folk park, about an hour drive from the Cliffs of Moher, and about and hour and half drive from Rock of Cashel & Cahir castles. There is also a nice pub right next to the B&B with traditional Irish food and music. We will definitely stay here again.

Review 61:Apart from the rain! Maybe a bath would of been the icing on the cake, but hey, nothing in this world is perfect.

Review 62:From the moment we turned up ( late evening) we were made to feel totally welcome. Mary and Michael are fabulous hosts in a spotlessly clean establishment. The breakfast was freshly cooked and just having served by the always happy Michael ( normally humming or singing) was lovely. Hosts that go that extra yard. Chat and converse with you. We had a wonderful stay on Ireland that was complimented by the wonderful place that we stayed in

Review 63:Room advertised with tea/coffee facilities but none present. Late arriving so did not ask for a tea or coffee.

Review 64:Clean, comfortable, good value, well located for Shannon, warm welcome, good breakfast & noise free.

Review 65:We had arrived at Shannon after a very long trip from Canada and then encountered a lengthy delay in getting a vehicle from Hertz at the airport. When we arrived at the Courtyard Guesthouse we were given a very warm welcome by Mary and allowed to check in early as she could see that we were exhausted. Mary and her husband Michael did everything to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the Irish hospitality was second to none. I would highly recommend this lovely B and B.

Review 66:The owners were so friendly, the bedroom was comfortable ,large and spotless. The irish breakfast was divine and the food in jps next door was excellent.Could not fault this b and b at all.We had a pleasent stay here and would recommended this b and b to all.

Review 67:Large rooms and bathrooms. Very clean. Welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend. We spent our last night here before flying out of Shannon. We wished we could have stayed a few more nights.

Review 68:we were told to keep quiet and went to our own bedroom to sleep when we came back from the dinner out, we found that it was so strange and to get rid of our holiday mood.

Review 69:Location and room is big enough

Review 70:Nothing really, it is exactly as advertised

Review 71:Great location particularly if on hols. Also good for access to Shannon. Right next to Bunratty Castle, restaurants and bars. Good choice of breakfast. Friendly proprietors who went of of their way to help. I would be happy to recommend to anyone travelling in the area.

Review 72:Mary Walsh and her husband are the most professional hoteliers we encountered on our Ireland vacation. Everything at Courtyard was A+. Great breakfast and close to Shannon Airport

Review 73:Banratty is a quite place, so if you are looking for other things to do Limerick is not too far away.

Review 74:Very close to Banratty Castle and the pub, where we ate, was right next door. Breakfast was very good and the room very big and comfy. The host was very friendly and made tea for us on arrival. Location is good for a visit to the Castle.

Review 75:Stayed in November and it was very cosy. Breakfast was lovely.
