Reviews for Jamala Wildlife Lodge
Review 1:We loved the close encounters with the animals, especially feeding the giraffe, lions and sun bears. Having the children's main meals served with entrée was a great idea. Lovely to see such healthy and well cared for animals.
Review 2:The food at dinner. I ended up with diarrhoea and stomach cramps so I had to leave the dinner early. I also found the fish was highly seasoned and tasted salty
Review 3:The experience was amazing! The best New Years Eve Ever
Review 4:There's nothing i can complain about, except maybe but a small variety of spirits at the bar.
Review 5:Everything was absolutely amazing. The animals are gorgeous. Staff are lovely people are great place is stunning.
Review 6:Would like to see more focus on australian native endangered or unusual species amongst the more popular known world species. i understand australian natives may be more difficult to look after and house however would be great to educate people about local species in trouble as australia has one of highest extinction rates.
Review 7:I liked that the animals get to decide what they do. They appear to being looked after as well as possible in a zoo environment. The zoo seems very well organised and proffesional.very comfortable stay and for special occasion or something bit different was nice.
Review 8:Everything was up to and above our expectations
Review 9:Guided tours were excellent. Ria our guide on both tours was well informed and enthusiastic. Accommodation and meal were superb. All animals appeared well cared for and contented.
Review 10:Nothing
Review 11:Incredible location, top class service, 5 star accommodation, food and drinks, animal experiences were amazing. Cannot fault any part of the visit.
Review 12:Great staff, exceptional tours, amazing being in a Jungle Bungalow and being so close to a tiger. We also did a couple of extras - fed the Meerkats and Meet a Cheetah. Both were amazing experiences that left us on a high the rest of the day
Review 13:It's a little cost preclusive which is a shame.
Review 14:This is an awesome experience. The staff, the food, the experience and the animal were excellent and the accomodation was sublime.
Review 15:Breakfast was confusing, you promised continental but provided both, and the hot was not good, stick with the continental, which was excellent.
Review 16:Everything was excellent
Review 17:Getting up early & leaving the room!
Review 18:Sharing the accommodation with the animals, wonderful food and drinks, lovely helpful staff, beautiful pool & African inspired rooms. Being surprised at the generous gift left in the room for my daughter's Birthday! She loved it :)
Review 19:That there wasn't a café up top ( maybe a suggestion with the new area), also some sort of transport around as it is very hilly and more seats to sit down, we didn't mind it but noticed some having difficulties especially in the summer.
Review 20:The Staff were amazing, they could not do enough for you and their knowledge of the animals showed that they truly care for them and it wasn't just a job.
Review 21:We would have loved to stay another night and hope to in the future, maybe next time with the lions or bear. However for a family the price it expensive which will mean a lot of savings prior to the next overnighter at the zoo.
Review 22:Our overnight stay was truly amazing. Staff were friendly, informative and couldn't do enough for you. The passion and live they have for the animals was obvious. Every family member was thrilled with the experience. We stayed with the Bengal Tiger Bakaar, a preference we put forward at booking, he stayed with us the entire time, fascinating and entertaining us. It was our daughters bday and the kind staff left a card and gift for her in our room. The food was beautiful and plentiful... We were very spoilt. Truly magical experience that will last a lifetime.
Review 23:Some rooms had 2 animals whilst others had 1 - i think having at least 2 animals would be better. A more flexible breakfast time would be great.
Review 24:The staff are very helpful, passionate about the animals and extremely friendly. The rooms are amazing from the decor to cleanliness. There is no other place like this in Australia - it was amazing to encounter a bear so close in real life.
Review 25:The staff are amazing, willing to help with anything. The food is fresh with so many flavours you can't stop eating. The views from your room if you are with the animals is something you just want to stay & look at. The tours are just right & we added on extra animal experiences which just made the stay.
Review 26:The stay / experience was brilliant. I can say both sides of the fence are well catered for - we as guests enjoyed the perfect experience and it was evident from the staffs enthusiasm and beautiful surroundings the animals are well and truly in good hands.
Review 27:When you $1500 for a single night the details need to be right. The place should be seemless and it should be clean. A dirty room with a half consumed mini bar, dust deposits and a feedback system that doesnt work makes what should have been a great experience one where you feel like its just not worth the price tag. And its not. I left detailed fair feedback for jamala on the review form and waited to hear from them. Nothing. So it goes here. My room wasnt clean, our animals didnt really turn up and when you break down what you get for what you pay you realise that your paying for them to get to the point where they can justify the price tag and the service. Simpy not good enough and I would suggest buying the tour experiences separate, and stay in the hyatt and save yourself 700 dollars. Are the animals amazing. Yes but dont book the bears in bungalow 4; you simply wont see them for more than 10 minutes.
Review 28:The zoo staff were awesome. The tours of the zoo were great. the dinner in the "cave" was cool even if the food is just a set menu. The wines with dinner were great, the other guests were brilliant.
Review 29:Everything about this was superb. The staff could not have done more to make the stay a memorable one. The tour guides were knowledgable and enthusiastic.
Review 30:I had tired feet, a lot of walking.
Review 31:Everything, information we were given by staff, accommodation was five star, food was beautiful, even the animals look happy.

Review 34:The Tiger room was fantastic.
Review 35:All of it
Review 36:The place the people, relaxing friendly really enjoyed our stay
Review 37:Everything!
Review 38:Room was a little small and breakfast needs to be spread out as not everyone wants to go on the tour
Review 39:Waking in the morning and having lemurs jumping on the bedroom window, and lions roaring intermittantly during the night.
Review 40:none at all.
