Reviews for The Park Guest House

Review 1:Idea for a "bed for the night". I didn't want any more than this so it suited me fine. Relatively inexpsensive so fitted well into my budget

Review 2:Was not a shower gel and shampoo in bathroom and they turn off the warm on midlnight and that's is not good, very bad!

Review 3:Near shops like Sainsbury and lidl))

Review 4:Great staff, very homely, the best place to stay when anywhere near MK. Has a charm that a hotel simply can't match! Will be staying again very soon!

Review 5:The room was freezing they put heating on for a couple of hours but wasnt long enough to warm room had to wear a hoody and woolly hat to bed

Review 6:It was clean staff very polite

Review 7:Bring your own soap, fiddly shower controls.

Review 8:Nicely decorated room, comfortable bed, outstanding Indian restaurant next door. Great value, friendly staff, clean bathrooms.

Review 9:Convenient, clean and good staff. I would stay again. Other reviews mentioned noise. I had a front room facing the road and railway, and it was not an issue. Also, showers were mentioned, with lack of hot water. My room and some of the shared bathrooms now have new electric showers so again not a problem

Review 10:Not one bad experience

Review 11:The welcome was grest, the room was spotless and couldn't do enough for us,also when we got back late on it was a great atmosphere, would deffently recomend and be back

Review 12:Was fast asleep till was rudely woken up by a woman how was drunk swearing and banging on people's doors demand to open doors and this went on for hours and I had a awful night sleep

Review 13:A fellow guest that caused a spot of trouble on the night we stayed but yet it was dealt with immediately

Review 14:Our room was very well decorated and clean, the owner/manager that welcomed us was very kind, well manored and great help, he was very informative and fully pre warned us about a themed night that wad going on downstairs, overall great help and will visit again.

Review 15:Great value. Good Parking Clean tidy. Towels better than most. Our host. Most obliging. The bitter was most welcome. cold and from the pump. Central to the town. Two Indian restaurants across the road. We chose the one on the right Great. Shopping. Mr. Salisbury had one of his establishments opposite.

Review 16:Noisey Trains...Hard foam only mattress (but I could see the single beds look better) In a poor area which didn't feel so safe... it's above a pub but didn't hear any noise after 11pm... more of a hostel feeling...

Review 17:Close to Train and Bletchley Park... Very clean...! staff are helpful

Review 18:Shower fan wouldn't turn off. It would have been great to have the train stop noted on the website so we wouldn't have gotten off at Milton Keynes and taken a bus, while the train stop was across the street.

Review 19:Staff was friendly and made it not feel like rooms above a bar.

Review 20:Small, stiff bed.

Review 21:Staff very helpful - held our bags after we had checked out. Very close to Bletchley park and Bletchley train station. Kettle, coffee & tea in room.

Review 22:My room could be affected by passing trains, bed shook a little, but didn't affect a good nights sleep

Review 23:Nice size single room, close to toilet/shower. Easy walk to sights and shops. Staff I met very helpful

Review 24:Breakfast and an evening meal would have made it even better. Granted the price would have increased but we think it would help more.

Review 25:It was clean, comfortable and quiet even though the main line railway was nearby.

Review 26:Nothing, all was good for the price.

Review 27:Although it was not en suite, there were two toilets, one with a bath and the other a shower, and all were very clean.

Review 28:No booking in after 10pm No breakfast facilities on site No phone in room Shared bathroom - no plug for bath.

Review 29:Staff member who waited for our late arrival Décor and cleanliness of bedroom. Cheap price.

Review 30:This public house was advertised as a B&B; however I feel they need to remove one of the Bs as they only did the Bed part! It would also have been nice to have some really good double glazing! as being situated next to a railway line with high speed trains going past every 10 minutes doesn't anyone trying to get a good night’s sleep.

Review 31:Good staff

Review 32:It was advertised as a Bed and Breakfast but on arrival was told no meals. I have stayed in a number of places previously during my travels in the UK and paid as little as £35 for much better rooms with Ensuite facilaties and £40 for Bed and Breakfast also with a better room and full English Breakfast, I could not reccomend The Perk Guest House

Review 33:There were signs that you would have to run the shower for a while for the hot water to come on but the hot water never came on. Room was very warm although couldn't turn radiator off when room got too hot.

Review 34:Good affordable clean room in a good location. Ideal for visiting Bletchley Park.

Review 35:Some showers were converted to electric heaters at the faucet and others weren't (and consequently did not produce heat even after being on for several minutes). Even when they were electric (on the public shower), the plumbing job seemed to be a bit half-hearted. Given how nice the experience was up until the morning, it was a cold awakening.

Review 36:Convenient to both the main train and bus stations in Bletchley, the Park was comfortable, clean, and priced well. I had some difficulty with timing in order to check in, but the staff was helpful.

Review 37:Very noisy location both from passing trains and the busy road, no option for breakfast, no staff on duty through the night or any emergency contact details given. Oh and bring your own soap.

Review 38:Helpful staff and tea making facility in room, that's it.

Review 39:Staff do not live on site and did not respond to emergency number at all when fire alarm went off at 7am, ended up having fire brigade force entry just to turn the alarm off! Water pressure was also very poor, but largely to be expected on the second floor of an old building.

Review 40:Close to amenities, staff pleasant, room decently sized and beds very comfy. Bathroom and bedroom clean and airy. Shower took over ten minutes to heat up, rather than the couple of minutes suggested, but this wasn't a problem. Located right next to a rail station, but trains were not that noisy and didn't disrupt sleep.

Review 41:The whole place smelt of damp, the shower took 10 minutes to warm up and you wouldn't want to walk on the rug, more stains than a 1 year old kids bib, rank

Review 42:Room clean but shower hard to use and no pressure. No toilet in room but plenty on floor. Room probably fine if you spend all night in the pub.

Review 43:Close to bus/train station however trains rarely stop there and the bus from central station is expensive.

Review 44:The water pressure in the shower was very poor, otherwise it was exactly what I was expecting out of the place.

Review 45:Convenient location next to the station, good value for money. The staff was accommodating and let me grab the key a bit early since I was going to be back only later in the evening. Simple, clean, no frills accommodation.

Review 46:Location- Absolutely nowhere to go for a drink after 10 o clock unless you head to city centre which is only about 5 miles

Review 47:Perfect room Very Clean and Tidy Lovely Staff Nice Pub

Review 48:The guest house did not supply soap in bathroom which was inconvenient.

Review 49:Very close to railway station, and within walking distance to local pubs and restaurants.

Review 50:Very gloomy entrance into the bar and reception. (It is a pub). Next to a railway but not too noisy in the bedroom. It may be noted that there is no Breakfast. Restaurants seem to be lacking nearby! Try the Italian "Mediterranean ?" In Queensway but closes 5pm.

Review 51:We wanted to go to Bletchley Park. This is very close to this inn. So location is good. It was very cheap to stay there. It is close to the main shopping area of Bletchley

Review 52:Stayed one night didn't really use much ....but clean room kettle and tv that's enough For me .... It is a pub heatsink noise and close to rail line also did not hear

Review 53:No staff on in the morning to return key. When fire alarm went off residents had to dial 999 and firemen forced entry to switch off alarm! This was at 8.30am. Despite checkout being from 7.00am. An interesting experience and at least the alarm worked

Review 54:Value for money, very pleasant at reception when checking in. Room very clean, toilet/shower close by room and also very clean. Plenty of hot water once it came through, but there was a notice about it being an old building so no problems.

Review 55:Shared bathroom, the fire alarm went off on the morning we left, and nobody was around to silence it, (It did appear to be a false alarm)

Review 56:Was perfectly situated for where we were working. Can't fault having a pub for digs. Close to plenty of amenity's. Papa Johns is next door!

Review 57:The staff messed up our room booking then charged my credit card without my permission. When I called to dispute I was told it was my fault and there was nothing I can do. Very disappointing!

Review 58:Had to share a toilet. But had own shower.

Review 59:The rooms are above a pub. But was not noisy at all. And handy if you want a pint! Lots of parking. Nice staff and clean rooms.

Review 60:Area a little run down its a B&B but no breakfast available?very close to rail track which was extremely busy. With windows closed acceptable noise level.

Review 61:Close to shopping centre..

Review 62:To pass the loos going upstairs. Smelled awfull. The first stairway was extremly hot.

Review 63:Location near to bletchly park. But we descovered later that the parking was free, so we could have stayed anywhere better in Milton keynes

Review 64:Sharing a toilet and having no food available, due to the kitchens being 'out of action'

Review 65:The guest house was within easy walking distance of the venue I had to attend

Review 66:Awful location, by busy road and adjacent to viaduct with very noisy trains. Located in old and not very appealing pub. Dingy and smelly corridors. No soap, no breakfast offered. Water did not get hot at night, and only after about 10 minutes of waiting in the morning. Tea cups were dirty. Depressing.

Review 67:Staff were friendly. Room was clean.

Review 68:Hot water to shaver cooled drinking water the bed was big and blankets very good Coffee and tea and a k

Review 69:The booking was good and you could talk to the staff and there help was great. thank you very mutch

Review 70:No hand towels provided. no soap/ shower gel, even to wash your hands after being to the toilet. Shower/ toilet/wash hand basin layout very strange. No hot water from our shower. TV in thr room not working properly, probably the remote.

Review 71:Location. Bed comfortable.

Review 72:The location was just what I needed, the hotel is clean and the staff were very friendly.

Review 73:Cold room needs updating.
