Reviews for Hotel Antica Fenice
Review 1:If you're going to Venice to see Venice, you'll want to stay on the island of course.
Review 2:Great spot for a morning flight - easy 10 minute ride to the airport. Located close to a large park that was perfect for a morning run. Very welcoming staff and a cozy, family feel. There is a supermarket across the street and a bus stop right outside that can get you on to the island easily.
Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:The hospitality, kindness and helpfulness of the owners and staff. The ease of getting into Venice without the high prices you pay by staying on the Island
Review 5:Hotel Antica Fenice was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they provided maps and let us in on all the cool places to visit and restaurant to see.We had breakfast on one of the mornings and it was actually good. The room was spotless and had everything we needed. Very impressed with this place.
Review 6:good location, only 10 mins away from the island and also close to the airport. Staff was so helpful, room was clean, perfect quality with lower price.
Review 7:Very helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. All our transfers were arranged for us and we were given lots of advice about getting to and from Venice and the best prices for water buises etc.
Review 8:- Good location (15 minutes by bus to Venice City center) - Good breakfast - Very good explanation of what the nice places are and how to travel around in the city!
Review 9:Very friendly and informative staff. The breakfasts are excellent and the evening meals at their restaurant are outstanding. The owner, Marco and his staff are outstanding! The Garden rooms are convenient and great!
Review 10:The staff was superb. The facility (a converted 18th century mansion) is quite charming and the rooms were comfortable. The location was great for access to many of the key sites. Our group included individuals from age 8 to 76 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They arranged transportation for us from the airport and to our port. They provided many tips on things to see, where to shop, and how best to get there. The food was excellent (thank you Mrs Algiro). Jasmine, Anthi, Mr. Panos, Staveros, John, Andreas, are delightful people and will make your stay a memorial experience.
Review 11:Free wi-fi connection was terrible. 5 Euro for high speed connection which was also unstable. Beds a bit small for tall people (2m)
Review 12:Location was ideal, 10 min bus trip to Venice. Very nice facility with big garden and place to sit and relax. Staff were very helpfull and friendly.
Review 13:The proximity to Venice is excellent. The hotel staff is very thorough in explaining everything. We left quite early and they offered to pack us a breakfast to take with us.
Review 14:Nothing to dislike.
Review 15:They staff were wonderful and the place very nice and presentable. Our best experience was when a camera was left in the hotel taxi. They organised the taxi to bring it back to the cruise terminal, saving a lot of distress and anguish. Can't thank them enough.
Review 16:The restaurant is closed on a Monday, finding somewhere else to eat isn't easy. However, nice "family" pizza place up the road.
Review 17:Garden rooms (3 side by side so not total privacy) Easy access to Venice Super food
Review 18:Staff went out of their way to help us when discovered that our flight had been cancelled--made sure that we got the connections to make new flight arrangements.
Review 19:We appreciated the stay very much, but the beds were not very comfortable.
Review 20:Very friendly owner, who gave much advice and information about Venice (what you should see and where you can save money). You have a free parking lot and can use the bus to go to the city in 10 minutes.
Review 21:Walls are a bit thin so you can hear other guests at night and the cleaning woman in the morning, but it didnt disturb us much.
Review 22:We had an amazing stay thanks to the staff and the food. The hotel itself is "okay" but the staff was super friendly and super helpful. When traveling my husband and I like to eat at a different restaurant every night so we can try many places, this was the first trip we have ever done where we ate at the hotel 2 nights b/c the food was THAT good!
Review 23:I've never experienced a harder pillow in my life...could have asked for a different one, I'm sure though...because service was great Bathroom was very dated a bit dingy...compared to other B&B's we stayed at in IT, the bathroom wasn't nearlyas nice.
Review 24:Service was fantastic Location is perfect, outside Venice but right on the bus line for easy access to the city
Review 25:The room was pretty small Only Italian TV channels The neighborhood is somewhat industrial, no place for a walk.
Review 26:Good location next to a bus stop for comfy travel to the city Bus tickets can be purchased at the reception desk Accessible by car Nice garden if you have a pet Friendly and helpful staff
Review 27:Wi-fi network has to be improved, very weak signal in the room, but it's OK in the lobby. And it's free!
Review 28:Small but very warm place, Far away from crowd & noise of th city, Excellent hospitality, they're so helpful with the city information at the reception desk. Fairly close to centrum, just a 10-15mins away by bus (2 bus-stops) from Venice centre and nearist bus station so close (100m) to hotel. Nice breakfast...
Review 29:Staff were great and helped us with our trip into Venice. Arranged transport to cruise port the following day. Good breakfast in a peaceful setting.
Review 30:What we did not like is that we stayed only 2 days!!
Review 31:The staff and specially Marco were very good with us and helping all the time. He even wait for us when we arrived at 3.30 am. The Hotel is very nice, very clean and it is only 10 minutes from Venice by bus which stops in front of the Hotel. It is also 10 minutes from the Airport.
Review 32:not fresh pastries (saturday morning)
Review 33:Comfortable and clean accommodation close to Venice situated in the beautiful garden, very helpful and friendly staff, good parking,
Review 34:The hotel is out of Venice by about 10 km, but the bus service is very convenient for getting inane out of Venice. It is right on the bus line to Aeroporto Marco Polo, too.
Review 35:The hotel host and staff were always friendly and congenial. We ate at the restaurant and had a throughly enjoyable meal al fresco. The garden room was large and comfortable and the grounds were much nicer than anything in Venice proper - it felt like the countryside (except for the busy road out front).
Review 36:Noisy room between restaurant, kitchen and upstairs shower. Noise till late and noise early in the morning. The room was tired but clean except for some areas of grime which could have easily been addressed. Bed linen was clean which made it acceptable.
Review 37:Helpful friendly staff
Review 38:Wished we could have stayed longer
Review 39:The hotel is located on the outskirts of Venice. We arrived in a driving rain that continued thru the night. We only came for an overnight stay. The room was clean with air condition, wifi, and a refrigerator. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Due to the rain we decided to dine in and wound up having one of the best dinners during our month long trip. The staff made it an unforgettable evening with only 3 other seated tables . They went all out to create an unforgettable gourmet dinning experience. I highly recommend this hotel.
Review 40:Stairs, no lift. Unpleasant surroundings. Generally ok only if you are travelling by car. Breakfast is pricey.
Review 41:Stayed for 1 night visiting Venice. Our room facing the inner yard was quiet and nicely furnished.
Review 42:The location was very convenient to get into Venice by bus. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and gave us lots of useful information regarding sightseeing in Venice. The rooms were comfortable, with air-conditioning, there was plenty of parking and there was no charge for our dog.
Review 43:Nothing not to like, exactly what we were looking for.
Review 44:We drove, so free parking on site was great. Easy bus ride to Venice. Quaint, clean hotel with excellent restaurant. Staff was great and spoke english.
Review 45:The hotel's location is good for travelling to Venice but not the train station. The hotel is just next to the main road which is always busy from day to night. We can't have good rest. The room is smaller than we expect.
Review 46:The receptionist and barman are friendly and willing to offer a helping hand to us. The receptionist gave us the travelling information in Venice very detailed. The barman was generous to give us some hot water.
Review 47:Coming from the airport, you had to go all the way to the island first and then take a bus to the hotel. It was only a 10 min bus ride but it was mildly inconvenient. It wasn't too bad but that's my only complaint.
Review 48:Clean, cozy, complementary tea/coffee, and a very charming place. The staff was friendly and informative providing maps, bus tickets, and excellent instructions on how to get to and from the island.
Review 49:My room was very close to a busy road. Stairs to the room. Room was very small! The employee should be more nice.
Review 50:The manager was friendly and helpful.
Review 51:The room is comfortable and clean, staff very kind, and the restaurant excellent. Especially for that price, the hotel was very convenient.
Review 52:Comfy staff very helpful close to Venice
Review 53:Very friendly, helpful manager-spoke English which was a big help. It is also very accessible to public transport.
Review 54:Welcoming staff who were helpful re advice on getting around Venice Restaurant not cheap but amazing food
Review 55:nothing
Review 56:Friendly staff with superb fish food restaurant that sources all local ingredients
Review 57:Close to old Venice
Review 58:Great location close to city centre and airport. Friendly staff
Review 59:Room a little bit small but enough for sleep :-)
Review 60:Staff, place, food.
Review 61:friendly staff
Review 62:Breakfast lack of variety on offer and same everyday
Review 63:Location between airport and Venice on a convenient and frequent bus service
Review 64:Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice restaurant.
Review 65:smaller room than expected, shower is not good at all, overpriced
Review 66:Close to airport
Review 67:Atmospher and friendly staff
Review 68:I only could say that this place is perfect!
Review 69:Great restaurant in the hotel. Had a lovely meal here. The staff were super friendly and helpful
Review 70:Friendly, helpful staff. Close to airport for arrival.
Review 71:Very friendly staff!
Review 72:Bathroom appliances are little dated.
Review 73:Helpful staff and peaceful location.
Review 74:Staff very helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Room very clean.
Review 75:No English channels on TV in the room.
Review 76:Large shower, friendly helpful staff, excellent restaurant.
Review 77:the large garden area was lovely, as were the staff - from checking in to checking out.
Review 78:uncomfortable rooms, breakfast included in the price quoted, but requires payment of breakfast
Review 79:experienced staff
Review 80:Bus stop to go into Venice is pretty near to the hotel - within walking distance. Cozy family-run hotel with free on-site parking. Excellent dinner available at the hotel. Thanks to other reviewers, I requested for my room to face the garden and not the main road. Hence it was not noisy.
Review 81:very noisy rooms. You can hear everything from the next room even the toilete, even the nature of the noise!
Review 82:Very good location, kind stuff, beautiful and clean rooms.
Review 83:Wonderful location for people hoping to be close to the airport, and convenient for a quick trip into Venice. Bus stop for bus into Piazzale Roma less than 5 min. walk away. Very helpful staff. Airport is a 5 or 10 min. drive.
Review 84:Quite small room but if you are planning a short stay it isn't a problem. Everything else is perfect.
Review 85:The owners of the hotel very friendly and helpful, the homemade breakfast. If you are traveling by car is very convenient with private parking space and the bus stop to venice just 100m from the hotel
Review 86:We asked for a taxi since we were leaving at 4:00 for an early flight. The staff made a call for us but the taxi ended up costing $50 Euros for the 10 minute ride to the airport. A bit of "highway robbery" in my opinion.
Review 87:Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed learning about digestivos from the helpful barman. Room was clean and adequate size for 3 adults.
Review 88:The room was small but not any worse than any other Italian hotel.
Review 89:Good hotel for fast easy access to Venice. A 15 minute bus ride with bus stop half a block from the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful with bus and boat information. Breakfast was good. Hotel was easy to find and easy to get in and out of the city. Would definitely recommend.
Review 90:A brilliant seafood meal on the Saturday night. Staff were friendly and efficient. We enjoyed having a drink before dinner on the lawn behind the hotel. The room although small was well appointed and comfortable.
Review 91:The staff were very helpful and accomodating with our travel and suggestions of things to do in the area.... must have been off season as the area seemed very quiet.... but we enjoyed the city and area like the locals... the people on the bus were very helpful with how to get on and off.... highly recommend the area... very close to venice, the port and the airport. The staff are only to happy to help arrange transport to and from these areas.
Review 92:The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a very short walk to the bus stop and only 10 minutes to Venice. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
Review 93:Room near by the road, so a little bit noisy and room a little bit too small, but it is a detail.
Review 94:The breakfast was very good with some homemade pies. We highly recommand to try at least once the restautant in the evening, it was excellent.
Review 95:Nothing... All are perfect
Review 96:The staff are so attentive, kind and they give you all the details that you can enjoy your trip in Venice i. The food are delicious. The room was so clean and the location is perfect.., and I want to recommend it to all and in my next trip I want to stay again , my second home...
Review 97:This tasty seafood that they serve in the restaurant should cost less for their guests. A dinner in their restaurant will cost you about €25-30 per person. That is very expensive considering hotel location. It is on the street in some sort of commercial area next to a gas station (yes pictures are a little bit deceiving). I don't think any locals will actually come there for a dinner - not a restaurant type neighborhood. Thus, it seems like the restaurant is just a good excuse to charge guests, that do not have any other decent option near by except Venice (which has a big problem with good food no matter what you pay :)).
Review 98:Marco the owner was very helpful. We booked triple room and were upgraded for free to Junior Suite. Room was good and comfortable. Hotel is about 10min bus ride from Venice. They cook excellent seafood and serve it with fancy presentation.
Review 99:The small hotel had virtually no shortcomings. We didn't want to be in Venice as such, but were within easy access. The a la carte menu can get a bit pricey if you are tempted, but is haute cuisine. The basic menu is just as good in many aspects as it features local dishes not common elsewhere. Give the posh food a go at least once though if you can afford it because Fabritsio does some memorable dishes.
Review 100:This is a family run hotel with a warm and friendly approach from everyone. The food is excellent, and the hotel also has a small restaurant attached. The chef, Fabritsio is a great cook. His brother Marco runs the hotel. Marco's son Alicio, aged 7, will play football on the lawn with you or your kids! We had a room open onto the garden, and in summer all meals can be out there al fresco or on the patio. A really first rate place to base yourself for Venice. We had a car, with which to tour the Dolomite mountains an hour away to the North, but Venice is only 10 minutes by bus from outside the hotel so we left the car when we went into Venice, which is definitely the smart move. Busses and taxis are simple from either Treviso airport, 40 mins away, or Marco Polo Airport, 20 minutes away. This hotel has an 'old school' waiter, Mauritzio, who is a proper Italian gent and would make an excellent replacement for Seniore Berlosconi (he really would) Mike & Eileen Bird, Yorkshire U.K.
Review 101:Staff very friendly and helpful, provided us with map, informations and suggestions about places to visit in Venice. Easy to reach, bus station for connection to Venice at about 100m from the hotel. Supermarket right at the opposite part of the street.
Review 102:It is easy to get to the hotel by bus but trying to get back to the hotel on foot from Mestre one evening was quite difficult.
Review 103:Staff were very nice and attentive. Property was well kept and our room had a pleasant view of their garden. Very good value for money.
Review 104:The location seems a little far away from the station. You should take the bus. Of course, it's no problem for people who own one car
Review 105:I like this hotel. It's very comfortable. The scenery outside the window is perfect
Review 106:The breakfast selection was limited, but there were very few guests over Christmas.
Review 107:Marco was very accommodating, spoke great English, the Wi-Fi access from our room was good, we found some English channels on TV, and the bus stop was very accessible.
Review 108:The hotel signage lacks visibility, we went found the block trice before we spotted it. The restaurant prices are extortionist, we ended up driving down the road for a bit to eat.
Review 109:Lovely people and very accommodating. Hotel room was lovely and the hotel grounds are really well mentained. Location was perfect as we were looking for a hotel next to the airport.
Review 110:Rooms design.
Review 111:Staff (GREAT), Restaurant (very good), Bus for Venice very close to the hotel (in 15 minutes it brings you to the citycentre). Wonderful garden.
Review 112:On busy route to city centre so buses inevitably nearly full. My room was road side, not a good sleeper. Did ask to change but hotel full.
Review 113:Easy access to Venice. Exceedingly friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Across road from Lidl supermarket. Fridge in room.
Review 114:Monica at the front desk and the owner Marco were very friendly and helpful. Both spoke perfect English. Excellent food and delightful patio and garden area. Rooms clean and comfortable. Convenient location for Venice and airport.
Review 115:Window didn't have a screen and opened onto the busy street. Difficult to locate the stop in a crowded bus, in the rain, at night.
Review 116:Marco was an excellent host. The room was clean and comfortable. The deserts from the dining room were delightful!
Review 117:The staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The bus service into Venice was excellent, regular and the stops were close to the hotel. our room was great, a large double, comfortable bed and a terrace.
