Reviews for The Park Hotel, Holiday Homes & Leisure Centre
Review 1:Loved the friendly staff and the layout of the hotel , and particularly the bar and waiting staff ! The girl on reception that booked me in on Sunday just gone in room 253 , lady with glasses sorry don't remember her name , very pleasant and professional ! As I am food and beverage manager in Kevin dundon hotel Dunbrody house ! I found everything excellent ! Thank you kind regards Paul Whelan from Wexford
Review 2:Everything! The very friendly and helpful staff. The comfortable room. The lovely breakfast (including a very generous portion of smoked salmon). We did not have time to check out the leisure facilities, unfortunately. We'd stayed before and we'll certainly be back again.
Review 3:We booked a family room for 4 and a double room for 2 and were assigned room 168 and 170 with 169 in between us. It would have been better for us and the occupants of 169 if our family rooms had been ajoining. Also for techical reasons we could only have 1 key card which was very inconvenient.
Review 4:Fabulous hotel friendly helpful staff great new years eve atmosphere
Review 5:INCREDIBLY LOUD! Could not sleep due to the sound of doors slamming (doors do not close on their own, you have to pull them closed), very loud voices carrying through the hallway and from the parking lot. Room was very small. I would stay elsewhere in the future.
Review 6:Staff was friendly.
Review 7:For the low price, there was a great sense of luxury when entering the hotel but also the room itself. It was fabulous! The atmosphere in the bar was relaxed and down to earth which was lovely.
Review 8:Breakfast was poor, slapped together Rashers undercooked Cheap sausages, no taste to them Pints in the bar were not good, drank bottles instead
Review 9:Bed comfortable
Review 10:Amazing staff, arrived late(just in time for Dinner) & the reception, bar & kitchen staff couldn't have done more for us. The dinner was delicious & the bar was so cosy & relaxing. Rooms were fabulous, clean, warm & as for the beds- pure luxury, best night's sleep ever!! Huge choice at breakfast & so tasty- highly recommended!
Review 11:No parking on arrival. Had to queue everywhere. Staff seemed on the goslow. Which a shame as we stayed there before. Kids were runningeverywhere it was like been at zoo where animals escape . No controlover them . Heating was on on room which had it a furnace. We had atree as a view which we had to open window over heat some sort ofinsect bite me. Had to queue for brekkie which is ok but then we we gotin it was almost lunch time before getting it. I went away with my 35wkpregnant wife to chill . Noise levels it was like been at a rockconcert. Just felt down
Review 12:When we left.
Review 13:The room might have been slightly expensive but it was clean and comfortable.
Review 14:We attended a wedding there and the hotel was quite busy but it ran really smoothly. Hard to fault any of the service and there seemed to be plenty of staff working. Ola on the reservations team was particularly helpful to us before checking in.
Review 15:Swimming pool very cold, whirlpool felt freezing. Changing area needs updating there's a step into the shower that could cause trips. The food was only ok. Breakfast was very good.
Review 16:The location was great, food was ok.
Review 17:the decor is quite shoddy and in need up upgrade. It made the bathroom look a bit dirty, tiles had stains, broken lamp shades, the net curtain kept falling down, the breakfast was well below standard...no fresh juice, tinned fruit, delph was broken and tired looking, cooked breakfast was barely edible. I was forced when booking to include the breakfast and this pushed the price well over the edge relative to the standard of the hotel.
Review 18:the bed was terrific and in general the room was nice. I think is was actually very clean, it was just the stains on tiles and old fixtures etc that made the place look a bit grubby... I still really enjoyed my stay, the location is amazing. I was forced when booking to include the breakfast and this pushed the price well over the edge relative to the standard of the hotel.
Review 19:lovely foyer but bar area a bit cramped and breakfast room was like being with the waltons every time a staff member passed they knocked against me . but waiter assured me of a grilled fish as I was after stating diet wd have loved some cold meats at the buffet breakfast. my partner said sausies tasted a bit cheap
Review 20:The foreign receptionist who took time out to tell me of a nice place to walk it was beautiful towards st augustines church and on the beach.
Review 21:Carpet on stairs in lobby very dirty.no shower gel supplied in bathroom.breakfast was very mediorce petit filous used inplace of natural yogurt over cooked poached eggs very small choice on pastries and bread selection
Review 22:Wi fi was great.bar food great
Review 23:Breakfast was an additional cost and also expensive. Very lucky to get parking as car park was jammed.
Review 24:Location is good. Within walking distance of town.
Review 25:We were seriously disturbed By neighbours at 5 am & rang reception 3 times but got no answer - we had to contact those neighbours & ask them to stop talking so loudly at 5 am - their friends were trying to come in our room also so we had to get up & tell then it was wrong room - next day told receptionist - she said we should come mid week if we expected quiet nights - what a joke - we paid 150 fof the room to be told this - I won't come again
Review 26:Nice 3 star hotel - great breakfast nice size room & bathroom
Review 27:room at upper end of price range for a single traveller - faced out to back of hotel with industrial fittings as a view they should change to a non-smoking policy in bedrooms
Review 28:a well run hotel with good staff attitude
Review 29:I have never been so impressed with a hotel, the staff, particularly the receptionist who checked us in, are by far the most professional and accommodating I've ever come across, we couldn't have enjoyed our stay more.
Review 30:I walked in to the foyer and the decor was sooooo tired. I was dreading my room. Thankfully the room, although not brilliant was ok, bit shabby but very clean and reasonably comfortable. I wouldn't stay again until this hotel gets a lick of paint and some new furniture, sorry.
Review 31:The staff here are amazing, so friendly and cannot do enough for you.
Review 32:Not a bad experience, just thought €130 for a twin room for one night was a bit expensive, €100 to €110 would be more realistic,..
Review 33:Hotel was clean and tidy, reception and breakfast staff were excellent especially Fonni,..very nice lady !
Review 34:We were put in some sort of family room, there were two two onto our room and at the other side were two other rooms. The walls were paper thin we could hear everything from both sides down to when the tiger guests were flicking on a switch the walls were that thin!! Our neighbouring guests may as well have been chatting in the room with us, and by no means were they been overly loud they were talking in a moderate tone. The house keeping in he morning the banning or doors the roaring in the corridor and hoovering hours before check was ferocious. I understand a busy hotel has certain levels of noise but this was ridiculous.
Review 35:Dark brown carpet in bedroom - very grim looking!! The breakfast was not hot....they were very busy and it was close to cut off time of 10am for breakfast, maybe this was the reason.
Review 36:I've stayed in 4 star hotels in Ireland, which are nowhere near this rating. If there was no dark brown carpet on the bedroom floors, and the hot breakfast was hot, I would give this hotel 4 stars.Staff were extremely helpful also. Enjoyed our stay!!
Review 37:We had to fly over from the UK to attend a funeral and this hotel was perfect (you don't want problems at this time!) . My parents were really impressed.
Review 38:The friendly staff, the food was excellent both in the bar and breakfast! Great value for money and hard to believe it's only a three star hotel. I would recommend it.
Review 39:The bar was closed for one night for the flooring, when it opened on the Saturday the staff & food were great!
Review 40:Lovely comfortable room with a good view Near enough to the town to walk in but not too near to cause an issue i.e. noise Food is great and the staff are friendly. Adequate gym facilities
Review 41:Not being from the area it was difficult to find the hotel - more signage needed at roundabouts! Didn't realise from website that hotel had pet friendly chalets - would have availed of this to bring our dogs.
Review 42:As above
Review 43:My wife and I go for a hotel break in Ireland once a month since I retired and this one cost almost twice as much as we usually pay
Review 44:It was friendly and the company was good. The breakfast was nice. The bar was friendly and the staff were good.
Review 45:Hotel had some sort of event on and the entrance foyer was more like a kindergarden with children running around and playing hide and seek. You couldn't relax in the foyer.
Review 46:The swimming pool was open to the public and very noisy swimming lessons were in progress which made it a little less than relaxing. A smell of cooking pervades the lobby which is not awful but a little off-putting. But you can't have everything!
Review 47:The staff are wonderful, especially Mary on the front desk and the team at the leisure centre. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms are modern and gleaming. Room service was prompt and good quality.
Review 48:The bed was like a camp bed it pulled out of the wall with a very thin hard mattress. Not suitable for adults. Do not stay in room 265. Spoke to accomodation manager about it she was to discuss with manager but almost 4 weeks later have had no feed back.
Review 49:pillows very hard. view from the room into a storage shed.
Review 50:nice size room which looked very fresh and well maintained, staff very pleasant and efficient.
Review 51:Bedroom was too hot and duvet too heavy! Large wedding group singing loudly until 4.30 a.m. - night porter not strict enough.
Review 52:Location perfect for visit to Dungarvan and surrounding area. Staff very efficient and friendly.
Review 53:Reception staff not very friendly Drab bedroom with locked adjoining doors to next rooms Bar and restaurant in need of renovation - tired looking Difficult to find car space Friends ordered alarm calls which did not happen
Review 54:Comfortable bed Good breakfast
Review 55:Ambience in breakfast room. Tables very cramped and uninspiring choice of breads and jam and dull overall
Review 56:Friendly staff and access to parking outside my room facilitated entering with luggage
Review 57:There was no shampoo conditioner or shower gel in the showers in the pool. There would usually be a dispenser.
Review 58:We visited the hotel tp celebrate my granny's 80th. Everything was wonderful for the celebrations.
Review 59:Breakfast was v poor . It was like the buffet breakfast had been moved from the dining area into kitchen where the chef was dishing it out, sausages were like cocktail sausages, black pudding tasteless & no white . Other than breakfast lovely hotel.
Review 60:View , staff , location , amenities , shower good
Review 61:Leisure facilities were quite dated, plastic chairs in the steam room to sit on, chipped tiling around the pool and changing areas.
Review 62:Large room, clean, bath and shower.
Review 63:Stuffy rooms.awful view over flat roof with smelly vents and rubbish on.stunk of food being cooked.last night of stay there was a wedding so music really loud.should be warned of this when booking.parking poor no spaces on first night.no lift dragged suitcases up steep stairs.
Review 64:Breakfast / room service very good.
Review 65:the price wasn't great but it was a wedding so we had no choice but based on the fact of its location I think it was a small bit steep.
Review 66:bedrooms were a really lovely surprise. so roomy and the high ceilings were great. very confortable bed.
Review 67:Premises needs a lot of updating, paintwork and carpets badly need replacing. No separate reception room for welcoming wedding guests who congregate in main reception area.Booked a double room but was given a room with double and two single beds which was cluttered
Review 68:Not much
Review 69:I had been quoted 70 euro per night for a single room which included breakfast, this was best price with booking.com, then when I went to check out of the hotel they said the price was 89 euro. They also said that they received a confirmation from booking .com which they showed me as being 89euro .
Review 70:Leisure centre out dated, showers not working & toilets had blocked. No beauty therapy facilities available in the hotel
Review 71:Lovely grounds, staff very friendly.
Review 72:Loud wedding which took over a little older children from the wedding ganged up and said inappropriate things to my children . The children from the wedding should not have been allowed to wonder unsupervised this oc course around the lifts
Review 73:I knew the hotel for some time as I worked on d Waterford area some years ago and attended functions and a wedding in the Park. The staff down to the night porter are so professional and courteous to everyone. Just like a big family.
Review 74:Breakfast ( other than full Irish) was the worst I've had in an Irish Hotel in over 25 years, disgusting! Lack of choice, quality, freshness and imagination. Hotel is also old and extremely dated, Shame on you Flynn group I've stayed is all your other hotels and this one was appalling.
Review 75:Room was clean
Review 76:Irish breakfast was average.
Review 77:Very comfie bed.
Review 78:Poor entertainment on in small bar
Review 79:Smell of old smoke in our room
