Reviews for Days Inn Milton Keynes East M1
Review 1:IF YOU ARE GOING TO TEST THE FIRE ALARM COULD YOUPLEASE TEST IT AT 12.00. AS SOMETIMES WE DO NOT GET IN BED UNTIL 07.00
Review 2:We are night workers and it was nice to be put down stairs near the fire door it was very quiet.
Review 3:When i arrived room was freezing cold as heater was switched off.
Review 4:Comfortable bed, very clean room and the staff were friendly good nights sleep with no noise, and helpful.
Review 5:Bad heating system... took a couple of hours for the room to heat up properly ... location wise not good if travelling to bedford... had to take a 30 mins detour to the next junction and back south. Suits if your heading north or milton keynes.
Review 6:no!
Review 7:I had the best stay. the lady at the reception was so nice, very helpful and friendly. The room was just perfect, comfortable slept like a baby and woke refreshed. Just what I needed. The lady in the morning on check-out was also full of the joys of spring and friendly. Only stayed there to get away for a decent nights sleep as I live in Leicester above a pub, can you imagine. I will do this again soon! Have travelled a lot internationally and speak from experience
Review 8:When we stay in the Days Inn , Have twin bed rooms, The bed are very poor as they rock side to side , Not Very comfortable bed, Shame they do not have any rooms on floor level As we are OP as be nice Was told they are putting some twin bed rooms but only few need lot more , When I phone to book this room once we mention my name, They told would get my discount for my loyatiy To this Motel. Then when arriving. Was told Imwould have to pay full amount, No,Discount, So please look, into this.
Review 9:Very easy to reach ,straight off the motorway Plenty of parking spaces Very helpful staff Plenty of tea and coffee bags, Wil be staying there again.bYes had nice VEIW over the fields , Never have had break fast in this Motel As bring my own,
Review 10:The beds were uncomfortable, the draft was quite a lot as well during the night but none the less for what we paid it was adequate.
Review 11:The price on new year Eve's retailed at £64 split between two of us was reasonable for a double bed and single bed in one room. It wasn't noisy really either.
Review 12:I can't complain about anything.
Review 13:As always excellent stay, cheap, clean and nice place. It's our third stay there and everything was very good as before.
Review 14:Approach the hotel from the M1 and was a little confused when we were not able to get to the hotel because of the barriers, that was the only thing, might be an idea to mention this and possibly the code in the booking conformation
Review 15:Staff very helpful. Bar set up was great. Rooms very nice and good value.
Review 16:We were quite late to the hotel which had been prearranged. The security gate was closed and telephone provided at the key pad operating control was not connecting to the reception desk, It was necessary to ring the hotel from my mobile to obtain the access code.
Review 17:ideal for a stop over. Very convenient to the M1
Review 18:someone accessed my room and when I had a word with staff they said it must have been the cleaners. I was rather shaken up by this experience to say the least.
Review 19:Cleanliness and quiet.
Review 20:The room was not available on time even though there were no other cars at the hotel other than mine! Also staff appeared not interested. They wouldn't even say good morning when I walked past. The room was noisy with bathroom fan on constantly and walls being thin and the pillows were extremely soft and the bed was also very soft and bouncy. I would expect to pay much lower for a hotel of this standard.
Review 21:newly refurbished
Review 22:It is a pity that there is no restaurant on site, although the nearby service station does offer several options.
Review 23:Very affordable and lovely staff. Bedroom was comfortable and clean. Overall great value for money.
Review 24:the room was freezing, and the heater was so noisy we couldn't sleep with it on so was cold all night and the toilet didn't flush properly
Review 25:the bed was comfortable
Review 26:i would have liked easier access on the south bound traffic side instead of having to pass the hotel & continue to junction 14 then head north to reach the hotel.
Review 27:Access was difficult as had to leave my car at the barrier to walk over to reception and get the code.Reception phone wasn't answered.
Review 28:It was clean and modern.
Review 29:You will have to take a taxi to the town centre,if you have no car or on a social visit. Tip for guests, use the free phone for a taxi from hotel.get a card from the taxi driver, you can then call them for a taxi back to hotel. Do not use black cabs, the prices vary too much,we were over charged.
Review 30:Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly.
Review 31:They need to fix the barrier to enter the site. You can spend a long time trying to get in to the hotel. Poor state of the roads accessing the hotel. NO HOT WATER
Review 32:Nice and clean. Staff work hard and try their best
Review 33:We were not able to have breakfast as the hotel had not started to provide meals. Hot drinks were available in the room.
Review 34:I can recommend the hotel to my friends if the are in that location. I travelled with a female friend and found the place to be nice and pleasant.
Review 35:Only issue I would say is the very thin walls... Listening to a couple 'enjoying' each other was more than we had expected or wanted
Review 36:The hotel it self is great especially for what you pay.even better.... Dominoes deliver here even though it is in the middle of nowhere!
Review 37:As I pulled up to the barrier gate and rang the buzzer it said it did not have a connection. So I rang the hotel phone number 3 times and each time it just rang and rang. So my boyfriend got out and walked down the hotel which was a fair distance. By the time he got there some security guy must've spotted me and came to open the gate. When I got into the lobby and spoke to the receptionist, I questioned why no one picked up the phone and was told it would've been rude to answer the phone when serving a customer. I asked her if that meant it was not rude to not answer the phone and she just shrugged. All in all it was cheap £39 and the facilities were nice and clean. I think it's only just opened as I could still smell a strong paint smell. I would go back if necessary as the price is very good.
Review 38:I liked the cleanliness n the room size
Review 39:Needed twin rooms on ground floor but they didn't have any however we were assured that this had been identified as an issue and changes were soon to be made
Review 40:Very clean and comfortable. Good location in relation to motorway but difficult to get decent food
Review 41:not happy that hotel wasn't able to provide any meals , even breakfast in the morning which didn't make any sense nor attractive ! the bar was attached to the front desk so the receptionist had to serve only when they had finished booking guests in / out , and there were no draught beer on bottles
Review 42:liked that certain requests which I required were provided without any problems
Review 43:The breakfast is limited to full English amin a fastfoood across the street. It is good but too heavy day after day. A voucher to be used for other options would be great.
Review 44:The rooms look great and you can get a good sleep there.
Review 45:I checked in and was given a room which had previous guests hair in the bathroom sink which was disgusting. Also the mattress had a massive red stain, which presumably was blood. Not impressed. I asked for a different room and was given one straight away, which was alot better.
Review 46:The entrance to the coridoor where our rooms were was freezing and the bedroom was so cold we got into bed immediatley! However the staff were good and the price was very cheap!
Review 47:Price
Review 48:We staid in this hotel for 2 nights. I would like to say that it has been the one of best hotels we ever staid! Clean and refurbished rooms and whole building, comfortable beds, excellent customer service, good location. We didn't want to leave. 100% Would stay there again. Thank you :-)
Review 49:I booked through the website as a last minute booking. Only to find on arrival that there was no restaurant or food facilities on the premises. As a lone female traveller having to walk across the car park through the services to use their foodcourt for both breakfast & dinner was unpleasant at best (I actually took the car back out). The bedside light was loose.
Review 50:No lift....even though there aren't many floors people usually have luggage so it would be nice to have ground floor rooms or a lift.
Review 51:Great location and friendly staff. Nice to have a bar on site.
Review 52:Internet connection very poor and could not access most of our stay.
Review 53:Staff very friendly and helpful.Good location.Good facilitates.Very good price.No noise.
Review 54:There were no facilities on site to get breakfast, you had to walk across to the service station.
Review 55:Easy access to Milton Keynes shopping centre. Ideal for a girly shopping trip away. Staff were lovely and helpful, especially the lady from California :) Rooms very clean.
Review 56:No cold water in the hand basin and shower wouldn't work. Was given use of adjacent room but same water issue in that one too. Eventually managed to shower in the room 4 doors down which was working. Didn't realise breakfast was served in the service station and not the hotel, was a bit of a walk across a busy truck stop in the rain.
Review 57:Friendly staf, rooms were modern and clean with comfortable beds.
Review 58:The lack of a restaurant meant they supplied a voucher for a very poor breakfast at Harry Ramsden's over in the service station.
Review 59:The room was nice and comfortable and the staff friendly and eager to help.
Review 60:The breakfast was awful as the hotels breakfast facilities were out of action due to upgrading so we were sent to Harry Ramsdens in the service Centre Which offered no choice except a Grease Bonanza!
Review 61:It was very fresh & clean, Staff were very helpful & most importantly they showed a good sense of humour
Review 62:The only thing that could be improved as to light the walkways from the hotel across to the service station. Cars and Lorries do not notice the crossing and walkway lines and drive through without stopping which could be dangerous. If you could highlight especially the zebra crossing this would feel safer.
Review 63:Front desk staff were really friendly. I was really surprised by the quality of the rooms which I felt was better than Premier Inn. A great touch is the electric points which also include USB chargers. For the business traveler this is great. Despite the fact this hotel is really close to the M1 it is very quiet and relaxing
Review 64:No onsite breakfast facilities. Services nearby but a bit limited. Paper tissue dispenser fell off the wall in the night and fell onto my Husband's glasses and broke them.
Review 65:Very friendly staff. Comfortable, refurbished room.
Review 66:According to internet and book in room continental breakfast available Resturant on site, but only junk food avail once we had walked via the truck stop! Very diasappointed as this meeting with 2 friends had been a once a year get together
Review 67:Room was nice and clean plenty of parking
Review 68:The toilets didn't flush very well
Review 69:The location was spot on, if you want quiet open spaces, and with the sun shining and days inns big glass windows our surroundings were lovely, the bar staff were also nice enough to set up a tab for us, one in which we could pay the next day, when we had more money
Review 70:I was a bit disappointed that they had stopped selling breakfast I would be more annoyed if I stayed more than a night and having to wake up and drive to the service station.
Review 71:It was a lot nicer than last time. It was more clean and the room I had wasn't to cramped together like other hotels.
Review 72:Room 209. AWFUL drone noise all night, ! sounded like a generator. Most obvious when in bed. Will definitely NOT be staying again because of that !! Shame because otherwise pleasant place .
Review 73:Clean and spacious
Review 74:It was our anniversary weekend and we both didnt have a lot of money. We agreed to stay here while travellling down to london and seeing the family locally to milton keynes. I mentioned it was our anniversary weekend and among arrival we were upgraded to the executive room. They even left us some flowers and a huge lindor choclate. Beds were very comfy. Slept all night and was not loud atall. Very Very Pleased!
Review 75:The only downside is no onsite restaurant yet. Unable to navigate to the petrol station upon leaving. Not able to turn right and no clear signs advising how to get to petrol station.
Review 76:Very clean, friendly staff, bed really comfortable.
Review 77:Signage from south m1 Come over bridge turn left then left but no damn sign to say days inn turn right .we went through barrier and guessed to come back .might see turning in daylight but not in the dark.indeed there's no signature all. Very frustrating!
Review 78:Room Staff The bar Cleanliness
Review 79:Only bad thing was the toilet in 43 didn't flush properly which led us to filling the bin up with water to flush items away!! We didn't complain at the time as I'd already undressed for bed. I informed staff in the morning who were very apologetic and offered us free breakfasts and stated that they would have happily moved us the night before if we had asked. Great response.
Review 80:It's location is great. The bed was very comfortable. I'm a very light sleeper but the room was really quiet which surprised me being so close to the motorway. Also they had great curtains which blocked out the light. Staff were very helpful and polite.
Review 81:Nothing
Review 82:The staff are the unique selling point for this business, always with a smile on their faces even when their computer system was down. The place itself was clean and done up to a high standard.
Review 83:Location is not that great, services near M1, but I thing it's one of the most pleasant hotels I have ever been near motorways.
Review 84:I was pleasantly surprise how nice and comfortable hotel it is. Looks like new inside, very comfortable bed, nice and clean room and friendly staff. I will be back again.
Review 85:If i was to pick anything and im being very picky I thought the bar could of been better, after along drive i was looking forward to a nice pint on draught but you only sold bottles. But like i said im being picky.
Review 86:I liked everything from the friendly staff to the nice comfortable room.
Review 87:for someone like me who didn't come by car it was far from the city centre. I didn't book this hotel as where I was supposed to go had made a mistake with my booking and moved me here paying the difference.
Review 88:very clean room and facilities
Review 89:The room door didn't close without a form well placed kick to the door handle. Opening it again in the morning was equally as difficult. 100 quid for a room with a door that didn't close isn't my idea of value.
Review 90:No breakfast facilities which i didnt find out until I arrived after booking online. Had to go over to the motorway service station to harry ramstons, cost £11 and was absolutely awful
Review 91:Nice clean room
Review 92:Booked a room with a cot for a 10 month old. No cot in the room. Staff found a cot, put it in the room and said "You will have to assemble it yourself"
Review 93:Good for a quick night's sleep by the M1
Review 94:Price was high , daughter got hers £30 cheaper a week earlier. Difficultto get too, from the services, no entry sign is confusing, button forbarrier too far away from car, not good if raining !
Review 95:Clean and modern
Review 96:Have used this hotel quite often in the past but on this occasion was not pleased had very bad night, this was due to a group people being allowed to use the external patio area until the very early hours (around 3 am ).They were very noisy so kept us awake which is not acceptable when you have a 5 hour drive the next day. I have no problems with the 24 hour bar facilities but customers should be in a part of the hotel that will not disturb other residents.
Review 97:Good basic hotel clean comfortable.
Review 98:Location is a bit off.Not too good if you don't have a car to commute.Had an issue with the boiler, didn't have hot water to shower one morning but it was fixed promptly.
Review 99:Nice and neat.Very comfortable and lovely.Staff were friendly.
Review 100:The hotel stated it had a restaurant and bar. I was told on arrival at 8pm starving and thirsty after a 200 mile drive that there was in fact no restaurant and the bar was in fact little more than a couple of fridges in the reception area. I therefore had to walk to the motorway services for food!
Review 101:Hotel had recently been refurbished so the room and premises generally were immaculate. In this respect as good as any hotel I have ever stayed in and amazing value for money at £57 a night!
Review 102:A shame there is no breakfast facility at the moment.
Review 103:The room was spotlessly clean. The shower was very easy to use, plus the staff were friendly and efficient.
Review 104:Lovely place. Clean and nice. In your room u can find many use full staffs like iron, cosmetics, tea, cookie.good quiet location. Everything us new.
Review 105:I was disappointed by the the limited food options offered by the adjacent Service Area. The whole place is tired and appears stuck in the seventies.
Review 106:I would have marked as excellent but for food situation. I appreciate that the Service Area is separate but it does reflect on the overall score.
Review 107:No boarding options, only a bar at the reception. Got no time to explore public transport options towards Milton Keynes.
Review 108:The staff were generally quite helpful. The location is just off the motorway so it may be good for those halting on their drive. There is a small but adequate service shopping area at the petrol station adjacent to it, so it sort of compensates for the distance from Milton Keynes city centre. The property is done up recently and it felt far better than some reviews had made it out to be. Room and bathroom size falls on the compact side.
Review 109:Being a service station location - noise from cars.
Review 110:Newly renovated. Looks very poor from the outside and very nice from the inside. Was pleasantly surprised from it.
Review 111:Hotel recently refurbished so nice and fresh .... the room was lovelywith the bed, although high, being very comfy. Booked at bargain pricevia booking.com so even better .... will definitely look at using againwhen in the area
Review 112:Bed a little too firm. Direct access is only available heading north. There is access to both sides of the M1 over a motorway bridge but this is not clear unless you ask for access. Crossing to the south to side of motorway over the bridge it is important to go through the no entry signs ( marked hotel guests only) and then you arrive at the motorway service area.
Review 113:Excellent value for money for an overnight stop and a twenty four hour bar.
Review 114:Every thing was good just would have been better with a restraunt so that we did not have to go out in the evening
Review 115:It was good for going places in the area could do with a restraunt
Review 116:It stated on the website that there was a restaurant on site but to our disappointment when we checked it there was not. Burger King from the services opposite had to do !!!!
Review 117:Very clean and tidy. Very comfy bed.
Review 118:UNABLE TO CONNECT TO WIFI. NOT A BIG PROBLEM..
Review 119:CLEAN ROOM SLIGHTLY COLD IN THE NIGHT DUE TO GLASS WALK WAY WALL THEN VERY WARM IN MORNING WHEN SUN CAME UP. ENJOYED MY STAY.
Review 120:Upgraded because it said there would be a fridge in the room.....but no and told that there is not going to be any either. £9 upgrade for a very little more room and an iron board!!!!!
Review 121:The whole place looks a lot better, front looks very good, liked the glass.
Review 122:No air con which is disappointing due to being close to M1 meaning loud if you have windows open. Few niggly problems , flush not great, and one room missing shampoo etc but staff keen to resolve.
Review 123:Cracking hotel. Recently refurbished. Staff were lovely,
Review 124:Nothing we didn't like!
Review 125:Had an amazing stay at the Days Inn. The comfiest bed we've ever slept in! The rooms and hotel in general were lovely, modern furnished and very clean. The room was very spacious and en suite was lovely too. Well worth the money. Can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't have any but service station just across the road with plenty to choose from. Would definitely stay again, can't fault the hotel!
Review 126:Asked about breakfast and been told breakfast is from 6:30 to 11am. When we got up in the morning and asked where was breakfast served, been told by another staff member that they do not serve breakfast and we would have to go top the services
Review 127:No evidence of inhpuse catering. When asked, staff referred us to Newport Pagnell services, which were terrible. Kettle and 2 cups in room does NOT constitute catering. Also makes your advertising description inaccurate.
Review 128:Bed comfort. Bathroom cleanliness, tho no shower gel provided in on case. TV channels selection.
Review 129:Great value for money, short taxi ride to the Milton Keynes bowl that only cost £11 and we shared a taxi with another couple. 24 hour bar and lovely looking rooms.
Review 130:/
Review 131:We was told on arrival the hotel was on its day 4 opening after a refurb (we wasn't aware beforehand) we pulled up outside and thought wow it looks very posh! And it did not disappoint we loved the fact the bed for our daughter was lower than ours as previous hotels have been too high!
Review 132:No food on site
Review 133:Nothing all very good
Review 134:Room was newly updated good supply teas/ coffee tray, large room, and great friendly staff
Review 135:Toilet was dirty, fire alarm kept going off as building works going on staff were rude.Rooms were cold
Review 136:Tea and coffee
Review 137:Good
