Reviews for Casa Gaia

Review 1:The location isn't in the heart of the city, though bus no. 19, which stops right in front of the hostel, gets you there in less than 15 mins. It isn't very frequent, so expect a waiting time of 15 mins at the stop. There's hardly any socialisation you can look forward to. They don't serve food of any kind.

Review 2:I stayed in a single room. Both the room and the bathroom were impeccably clean. The WiFi is great. The single-man staff is very affable. Surroundings are pretty.

Review 3:The house was on a main road; our room was on the road side and the noise was OK, but rooms on the back would be quieter.

Review 4:The owner spoke good English and was very helpful. Though we had not expected breakfast, tea / coffee making facilities and a croissant each were provided in the room. The Venice bus stop was opposite and the shop selling the tickets was next door. Everything was cllean and the parking was good.

Review 5:It is on the main street, so you can here a lot of noise during the night

Review 6:The staff are really nice. The rooms are very clean. It's very easy to get to the Venice and airport. The last bus from Venice is 00:40 ish (It's line 5, so the stop is like 200 meters from the hotel, not the one exactly in front of it.)

Review 7:Very clean and beautiful. The owner was very kind and helped us a lot. Close to Venice and the airport with good public transport. We arrived at 12 but he gave us the room and it was very important for us because we had limited time to visit Venice. I am glad of my choice.

Review 8:We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Gaia. We were a bit nervous when we saw how busy the road was next to the hotel, but the owner had given us a nice, quiet room on the other side. The room was very clean and comfortable and had everything you could need. Parking was not a problem at all and we were very happy that we did not have to park in a garage by/in Venice and pay a ridiculous amount of money per day. The owner is extremely kind and caring and you can see that he truly cares about your stay. Getting to Venice was incredibly easy with a bus leaving every 15 minutes right outside the hotel front door. The bus costs 3€ per person round trip and you can buy tickets next door at the tobacco shop. Super easy. I was a bit upset that we wouldn't be staying actually in Venice, but with the much higher priced hotels in Venice, parking chaos, rolling your luggage through the crowds and navigating your way through all the alleyways. I am so glad we decided to stay a little out of Venice and would recommend that to anyone! Thank you very much for our stay!

Review 9:I thought the property was in a quiet street but it is on the main road with lots of traffic. Direction to accommodation was not quite clear.

Review 10:The room and bathroom were very nice, had everything I needed. Good little restaurant a few doors away.

Review 11:None

Review 12:The room is so big and clean, the bed is very comfortable, everything we want is in the room,it's quite juring the night. The old couple there is very kind.

Review 13:The location of the place was ideal as it was in the middle of the distance between the central square of Venice and the airport (around 15 minutes each). The bus stop was just in front of the Casa Gaia and very frequent. The host was very welcoming and recommended the best way to explore Venice! The room was luxurious with large and comfortable bed and kettle and confectionery provided. Definitely value for money so I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Review 14:It was a clean room. Personnel was too polite and he helped a lot about how can we go to Venice and what will we do. No walk to bus stop, just in front of the Hotel. Clean bed, a little bad for our baby, clean bathroom... Cattle in the room.. 10 minutes to Venice by bus. Hotel has a autopark. If I go Venice again, would go to Casa Gaia again...

Review 15:May be they can improve the breakfast options, but not an issue as such.

Review 16:It was my best stay in whole of Italy trip. I was skeptical that the rates were so low and away from the main city centre. But I was proved totally wrong. Absolute gem of a place - 8 mins to city centre, great room, spacious and the wifi was really good. I will surely stay again in this place and recommend it to everyone.

Review 17:wifi signal is very much poor... highway side hotel, so too much vehicle noisy sound comes in the room all the night due to road side, so difficult to sleep. no toothpaste and brush in the bathroom, even no glass as well.

Review 18:I liked the staff as the way he works all alone. Very helpful.

Review 19:the bathroom combined with the toilet was not convenient It's not about the hotel but local infrastructure, which could be better - the closest supermarket is 10-15 minutes away Did not like the sea, which is shallow

Review 20:Location just great - near the seashore Free parking Friendly staff, the English woman at the reception was nice and polite, enjoyed chatting with her

Review 21:Great place & perfectly located outside Venice with private parking. The bus stop (bus to Venice) is right across the street. Just 30m up the round is a great local pizzeria - the pizzas are very delicious & it's very cheap (pizza Margherita €4,50). The owner was very nice & helpful. Definitely will book again next time we come back to Venice!

Review 22:If you didn't have a car and your main purpose is to visit Venice (and cost is no factor) it would be better to stay directly in Venice. Also, the area has a lot of mosquitoes so you need to keep the windows closed at all times!

Review 23:Good hotel located on the mainland a short bus ride from Venice. Good if you want to save money and you are travelling with a car (as there is virtually no affordable parking in Venice). Good cold air-con - vital for hot summer months.

Review 24:none

Review 25:Very nice old couple are running the business, clear room, the room is not big, but it has all equipments that you need. With no doubts, it is the right choice!

Review 26:all was perfect, thanks to our host Angelo :)

Review 27:A small, clean and tidy hotel where you feel quite home. Very friendly personel, always willing to smile and help you. Located near the bus stop where you can go to Venice old city in 8 minutes. Perfect and quiet spot to stay, and also good for the budget, considering the prices in the old city.

Review 28:Very nice and comfortable family hotel! A free parking, a bus stop in ten meters, that goes to Venice every 20 minutes, you can buy tickets in the hotel. Large room, polite personnel, good wi-fi, many towels, the room is clean, a teapot and a breakfast in the room. Everything was very good!

Review 29:The Wifi did not work in my room. I forget the room number we had, it was on the second floor in the corner. We had to go outside or downstairs in order to make it work. Brought that to the owner's attention but got no resolution for it. Also when we left the owner came in to replenish our room, which was no problem; however instead of leaving the air on, he turned it off and opened the windows which allowed for flying bugs to come in. We woke up with bites all over us. Would've preferred that he just turn the air off and leave the window closed.

Review 30:The location was located in a great location for accessing the airport and the sites of Venice. It was located near a bus stop which made navigating the city very easy! Would definitely stay here again given the chance.

Review 31:Excellent location with public bus station towards Venice in front of it. Angelo gives you all the instructions needed for visiting Venice. he also provides bus tickets.

Review 32:The wifi sign is not too strong.

Review 33:In front of the hotel there is the bus stop which takes you to Venice in 10 mins. The staff was really friendly and helpful. There is a good pizzeria called Colors almost next to the place. You can buy the bus ticket right next door in the tobacco shop

Review 34:Once you return from Venice there is nothing close by except Colors pizzeria, which does do a lovely pizza. Also no TV channel in English.

Review 35:Its not far from airport, you can get the bus. You can also get a bus to Venice which only takes 15 mins to get to beginning of Grand Canal. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

Review 36:Staff really helpful excellent guidance on getting to and around Venice. Bus right outside hotel 2 euros (15) minutes to water taxi which took us to heart of city.

Review 37:Hotel has a free parking and a bus stop across the street from which you can easily take a bus to Venice. Very convenient! Surprisingly high standard interior of the votes!

Review 38:Road noise is a bit loud, but not terrible.

Review 39:Easy access to Venice & the airport via bus. Strong, secure WIFI. Modern, clean bathroom Kettle in room Would definitely stay there again.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Perfect, we had a very nice time. Location, everything was more than okay. The owner and his wife were very gently. They give us al the hulp we need.

Review 42:Pillows too soft and flat. A long shower will use up the hot water and you have to wait half an hour for it to reheat. Supermarket down the road but as we arrived on a Sunday it was closed. No breakfast. Walls a bit thin, you can hear fellow guests but our room was at the back so the busy street noise was not too loud.

Review 43:Location good with the bus to Venice right outside the hotel. Angelo has bus tickets for your first trip and good advice about getting back. He helped take the bags up the stairs. Clean, comfortable room. Small fridge in the room and complimentary croissants, tea, coffee etc. Free car parking next door.

Review 44:The place of the hotel was just in a few steps from the bus stops to Venezia and to the Marco Polo aeroport. The room was very comfortable, clean and nicely furnished, no humidity, very fresh. We could take tea and coffee and few biscuits for free in the room. The owner was very kind and very helpful. We were very pleased to stay there and had a nice rest.

Review 45:Close to airport, good restaurant next door and a comfortable bed. We were only ones there. We were let in, given tour of facilities, staff called for taxi in morning and then left. And that worked great for us.

Review 46:The restaurant behind the hotel was a bit noisy

Review 47:Everything at casa Gaia was just perfect. Very clean and very well equipped. Angelo was very nice and helpful. If I go back to Venice,we will definitely stay at casa gaia

Review 48:The hotel is located next to a very busy street and therefore I heard a lot of noise at night. No breakfast included

Review 49:very close to a direct bus to Venice

Review 50:the room was good and very clean. the hotel is 15 min away from venice by bus, which is good for people with cars who wants to park the car in the hotel.

Review 51:Room on the second floor - no elevator.

Review 52:Excellent location - a few minutes by (frequent) bus to the city of Venice, or to the airport. Excellent value for your money (compared to the very high costs in Venice) Very convenient room.

Review 53:the last bus from the central Venice to the place is 22:25 which is not the hotel fault or problem

Review 54:It's a very nice place and the staff are good people.

Review 55:The very poor breakfast - namely a coffee that you make on your own, in the room (although there is space behind the building that can accomodate a decent breakfast) and the croissant in a plastic bag that you find already from the evening. For the price paid, a small but decent breakfast could be served.

Review 56:The cleanliness, the proximity to the bus station going to Venice and the parking in the yard - safe if you do not want to unload everything and are traveling by car.

Review 57:Shower heads not staying where put. Although hotel is on the main road, no clear sign so a bit difficult to find.

Review 58:Location - 15 minute bus ride to Venice and bus stop just outside. Good size rooms. Clean. Helpful proprietor

Review 59:Very nice and helpful owner, close to Venice (10 min bus ride to Piazza Roma), free car parking, nice and clean rooms. We stayed in two rooms on second floor for 2 nights. Had no issues whatsoever.

Review 60:Not downtown Venice but for 70 euros a night a great find!!

Review 61:Angelo was a wonderful host.Room 1 was off the street side and wonderfully quiet. So easy to get to Venice. Bus stop is literally outside your door.Catch the train straight into Venice and walk to the bustop and catch number 19..1 euro and 10 minutes you are there..or walk around Venice first!! and go back later. Between Airport and Venice..number 15 from airport also stops 10 meters from the door. Campalto is a cute little town..Colours restaurant is next door very great food from Pizza to mixed grill!! Staff so friendly!!Coffee in room and tea and espresso in the morning in the lobby!!!

Review 62:No real breakfast included.

Review 63:We did not get the gentleman's name who was the host there - possibly Mr. Angelo - but he was excellent and helped us with every question concerning transportation and eating. The hotel was very clean and located just across the street from the bus stop. Just down the street was the Colors Restaurant, which served great budget friendly food and also had a great staff. Would recommend this hotel.

Review 78:The room and the service.

Review 79:This had the most comfortable bed I experienced in Italy.

Review 80:No one to attend to at the house.

Review 81:Good clean bathrooms

Review 82:Wifi was not accessible except at check-in desk. No English channels. Would like at least a news channel.

Review 83:Name not visible.

Review 84:The staff was absolutely fabulous, and the room we had was very charming and absolute worth the money

Review 85:Nice hotel in a great location near the bus stop with very pleasant owners.

Review 86:Close to Venice, 15 min with bus, parking, internet, very nice and clean rooms.

Review 87:The restaurant next door is the best one we had while we were in Europe.

Review 88:Clean, great staff, bus stop right outside the door (no 19)

Review 89:Location was great - if you want to stay outside venice. The hotel is very clean and room is well comfortable. Very good overall For food you can check out the restaurant nearby

Review 90:The pillows were hard a rock. (Admittately we did not ask for replacements).

Review 91:Location was great and being on a bus route was very convenient. The host was very helpful and co-operative, and the place was immaculate. The shower was great.

Review 92:Only thing is, my room was on the street side. So, i could here all the vehicles passing by.

Review 93:Very accommodating and very helpful. The location is just perfect. A bus ride from the airport and a bus ride to Piazza San Roma, Bus 19. The bus stop is just across the street. Very clean. Though there is no breakfast included, but you have croissant and coffee, tea in the room. Enough for a solo traveler, as me who's on the go all the time. Overall, a pleasant stay at this place.

Review 94:Breakfast is non-existent. Hot water runs out soon and the heater takes ages to heat the water. 15 mins drive from the Island and bus 19 (outside of the hotel) and bus 5 (200 meters away) connecting the hotel to P.Le Roma.

Review 95:The room was big and clean. Owner was helpful and accommodating. Comfortable bed and nice big bathroom. Close to the airport, direct bus 15 outside of the hotel takes you to the airport in 10 mins.

Review 96:Casa Gaia was situated in Venezia Mestre, but there was a bus stop right at the property where you could take a bus to get to the main island. And the bus tickets were for sell on a small shop meters away from the property. The staff were an friendly old couple. A supermarket was nearby.

Review 97:Breakfast could be improved

Review 98:Very nice staff; the hotel is not located in the island of Venice but you can take a bus exactly in the front of the hotel to the island and it is a 10-15min journey

Review 99:It is not in exactly in Venice.

Review 100:The hotel is not too far away from Venice and the transportation to get there is cheap and fast. The room was clean and comfortable and had facilities that were unexpected for the price and description, such as a little something for breakfast. The person who received us was nice.

Review 101:Nothing we didn't like

Review 102:We really enjoyed our stay here, the owners were so lovely. The room was spacious set out lovely & very clean as was the bathroom! Even though it stated no breakfast we got a croissant & an array of tea & coffee stocked up each day! Angelo also got s fridge for us. Location was great, bus stops out front & takes 10mins to Venice & 15-20 to train also about 10 to airport. Great restaurant (Colors) up the rosd like 30sec walk they are cheap & very yummy!! also lovely staff. Would highly reccomend staying here!

Review 103:noise from the street (stayed in room 5)

Review 104:the room was nice and clean. very small bed, but i ordered a single's room. i stayed for one night only and unfortunately decided to cancel the rest of the nights i ordered (3 more nights) because of the noise from the street, the owner of the hotel was very nice and made the cancellation without any unnecessary trouble.

Review 105:The only redeeming feature was it was close to the airport. It is inbusiness district, with no entertainment. One has to take a bus or cabto get to the tourist Venice. No phone in the room, and wifi onlyintermittently available, although free.

Review 106:It included breakfast, although it was only coffee and a croissant. Theroom was spacious by European standards for the price. It is a boutiquehotel with only five rooms, and run by a very nice couple. Desk serviceis not always available. We needed a cab to the airport early in themorning, and we had to do it ourselves by going in the street andflagging one down, a scary experience..

Review 107:The traffic, bearable with the windows closed, but it would be impossible with them open. Ask for rear facing room.

Review 108:Very friendly owner, clean, very close to Venice. Euros 2:50 one way on local bus, from bus stop across the street.

Review 109:This guesthouse is spotless! Angelo was friendly and helpfull. Excellent value for money and fairly easy to find, coming from Venice, take ACTV bus 19 and look out for LIDL on the left hand side and the campsite on the right, bus stop about 10 metres from the front door.

Review 110:We stayed here because our flight arrived late and we needed a place to stay before taking the bus to Venice. The owner was extremely kind and helpful. The room was very clean and provided us with everything we needed.

Review 111:Not a big deal, but a bit noisy at night, because of the road in front of the place.

Review 112:Very nice place to stay at. Clean room, helpful staff, bus stop and supermarket nearby.

Review 113:I have nothing to dislike about the it.

Review 114:Angelo (the owner) is very accommodating. The room is very nice and clean as well. There is a bus stop just in front of the hotel and that made it very accessible.
