Review 1：There was a disrespectful attitude from the lady at the reception desk towards my personal data. She tried to be polite, but the hotel policy was rigid against personal data respect, without giving an alternative choice, though there was.

Review 2：I slept really well and the room was comfortable. There was a sense of luxury everywhere.

Review 3：The traffic from the street was sometimes audible from the room. There could have been more English language channels on the TV.

Review 9：This was one of the best hotels we stayed at in a 2-week trip to Greece. Our room, an executive double with pool view on the fifth floor, was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. It was decorated in soothing colors. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was extremely helpful, especially Eftichia. Breakfast buffet was beautifully presented and lavish. Location is good: about 10-15 minutes walk to archaeological museum, and on the main road to Knossos.

We asked to change room because of a bad smell and terrible view (don't chose a city view at all) evey room has got a terrible old wall to wall carpeting. They don't' change towels every day. Picture in booking are more beautiful that the reality.

We felt victimized because we was aforeigner. I asked for 2 runny eggs twice and got nothing. The greekswas asking for iced coffees and many other dishes they was gettingserved. There was no where near enough staff to service 5 star hotel. Ihave travelled all round the world and I would say this is nothink butan average 3 star hotel. We sat in the corner for over an 1hr and gotnothink no coffee offered nothink it was dissgussting. The self servicewas empty like I said think before you book this hotel.

Review 28：The very friendly and obliging staff and the fact that the hotel is within short walking distance to the centre of town with all the wonderful activities including museums, restaurants and bars. Great!

Review 29：Hotel is located at somewhat 15 minutes of walk distance from the hearth of the city, yet close to some good cafes and restaurants, and the district is far form being noisy. If you prefer to rent a car like us, the hotel has its own free parking place and it's very easy to reach main routes. Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. WiFi in our room was satisfactory.

Review 54：1. Misleading advertisement. This is not a five- star hotel. I would say it is the equivalent of a Best Western2. Rooms were ok. Bed was hard. Carpet is meh. I would suggest doing away with the carpet entirely and going with simple hardwood floors. No art decor on the walls in the room. Rather plain.

Dinner and entertainment by the pool was a highlight to our stay, very relaxing and great showcase of Cretan talent. I enjoyed the number of common areas to lounge and relax in the hotel. The bellman, Kostas, and the late night reception staff were outstanding, giving great advice on how to navigate the city and best transportation options.

The receptionsts were exemplary, the best ever encountered in a hotel. Dining staff were happy to explain the food and wines, security staff courteous and offered help.

Review 79：The Hamman is really just a small steam room so I wouldn't choose it if you want a proper hammam or spa. We tried the massage but the person only did light relaxing work so if you are looking for wither a sport massage or a remedial massage then try somewhere else.

Review 80：The staff were excellent and very helpful. When we required a doctor they organised one and even helped us get the required prescription from the chemist. The breakfast choice was great and everything was fresh. We ate the the restaurant a couple of time and found the food to be very good although we also tried the excellent Italian pizza restaurant next door where the pizza was one of the best I have tasted and the staff also great. The beds were comfortable and clean. I would recommend asking for a quiet room as some of the rooms can be noisy near the road. We were moved to a pool facing room which was great.

They saw that it was my birthday and arranged for an entire cake to be brought up to our room, compliments of the hotel. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had dinner in their lounge restaurant outside by the pool and had one of the best meals of our vacation. Most, if not all, of the food was locally sourced and deliciously prepared. The hotel even gave us a free bottle of local Cretan wine with the purchase of our meals. The waitstaff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful without being overbearing. We loved this hotel so much that we came back a few days later to enjoy lunch at the same restaurant. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Review 111：Not sure why some reviewers don't believe this hotel is worthy of 5* - very sleek and modern inside, lots of complimentary items including wine, water and sweets in the room, a good size swimming pool, access to a small gym with excellent treadmills and very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful staff - Heraklion was my first stop in Crete and I didn't know much about the trip and one member of staff gave me tips on where to go, printing bus timetables etc. My room was very comfortably furnished, soundproofed and I had the best night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. I was even allowed to check in early at 11am as my room was already ready. Wifi sometimes intermittent but not a problem really - I was able to book all the rest of my trip from the hotel. And the breakfast was fantastic - lots of variety including traditional Cretan products, lots of healthy options and coffees made to order.

Suggest if you are searching for idyllic beaches and village life - stay at the Galaxy on arrival as we did to start off our holiday in style and comfort, and before departure from Crete.

Review 115：Convenient for Airport. Staff are outstanding. Extremely friendly, professional, multi-lingual and nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms AND beds extremely comfortable. Lovely Pool area and because of location - shadow /shade can be accessed as required. **NB our first visit was two years ago following an accident, where a family member was admitted to the Venizeleio General Hospital. The Galaxy is also extremely convenient for that! - Although the circumstances were very distressing the Galaxy was an "Oasis" for us, and the staff were extremely kind to us at that time, making arrangements for us, helping with local authorities, and making sure that everything ran smoothly.

Review 131：Wifi access disconnects every time your device's screen times out (turns off). The buffet breakfast was very limited. I am gluten-intolerant, I don't eat pork and I try to avoid dairy. So my options were extremely limited. Apparently, Greece has its own standards for awarding stars to its hotels. In the USA, this would be a 3-star place, but in Greece it is 4 stars. Disclaimer: We had come from Chania, and went to Hersonissos after Heraklion. While Heraklion has its own charm, we didn't enjoy it as much as other places we visited in Greece. It's an island town, but feels like an inland city, a bit like Athens.
