Review 1:If you are a normal guest when there was a prominent government figure staying there, forget about good service. The front office wont even answer your call when you need something. They re just too busy to please that important....far more important guest than you are.

Review 3:The staff didn't seem very experienced in dealing with tourist-related issues. My suitcase had not come off the flight and they had no idea who to call or what to do. In the end, I took a taxi back to the airport later in the day to find out when my luggage would arrive.

Review 4:I checked in really early and was initially told they only had a smoking room for me (I'd requested non-smoking) then I was told I'd have to wait till 14:00 to check in (I'd indicated my ETA to be around 09:00) but the staff were really good at resolving the issue and, in the end, I only had to wait 30 minutes for my room. They had already started putting out the buffet breakfast at 5:30, which meant I could have something to eat before I left at 6:00. The buffet looked extensive and varied, but I didn't have time to enjoy it. The hotel is in the centre of town (though not very close to the two shopping malls) and caters mostly to business clientele.

Review 5:No early check in. 5 flight land early at Pattimura AirPort. You cannot check in before 2pm or you must pay additional costs and can check in at 9am. The Restaurant menue lot is not available. Also we ordered spaghetti bolognese for lunch, it was overcooked.

Review 6:The lobby smells of cigarettes and people smoke inside. The corridor of our room floor also smelled of cigarettes. The shower is an alternating surge of boiling hot water and then cold. Not very comfortable.

Review 7:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, omelette, toast, indonesian dishes, waffles, etc.

Review 8:Only 2 frontdeskstaff members could speak good English. The others tried very hard en were also very friendly but it caused some miscommunication.

Review 43:Poor internet WI-FI connection. Just in the first room we had there was a fairly good signal, in the other two different rooms there was no signal at all. WI-FI is acceptable just in the lobby.

Review 44:We stayed at the hotel three different times (three different rooms). Every room had a beautiful view on the city (even if Ambon is not that good as a city!). The restaurant offers very good meals, staff is very kind and professional.

Review 45:I had unpleasant experience with male-receptionist in the morning when Ichecked availability of the room. The male staff served me with a coldface and saying that the room only available at 2pm. Sure I know thatthe hotel room will be ready at 2pm, I was just checking to make sure ifTHERE's any available room.... Relax, will ya?Then it came to my second unpleasant service when i asked that i want a single bed for my room. He replied after seeing me in awhile saying :"it's only available for twin bed, sir". But then i insisted that i make a NOTE in my reservation through booking.com that i want a Single bed rather than twin bed. Then he replied, we'll see at the afternoon availability. Which i came to my final closure to him saying "Hey, i came early to make sure that my request is being fulfilled. So if you say that my request is non of your concern, so make me see your Duty Manager! The he replied, "Oke sir, we'll try our best...." Geezz, i was so tired after 14hours onboard from Bandaneira to Ambon by boat and that's not exactly what i expected to get. So at the afternoon at 2pm, i was checking in, the receptionist staff was the female duo whose welcome me very well and i thank them for providing me a single bed for my two nights stay. - The breakfast is so-so, not really a very extraordinary one. Coffee tastes not so good (dear coffee-holic). - There's a black-out for about three minutes at night.

Review 46:- The room was comfortable enough with fair space (not too small nor big).- The bathroom shower was good, but with no door on the partition make all the bathroom floor was all wet after taking a bath. - The view of the room to the Ambon Bay makes it spectacular.

Review 59:The quality of the breakfast offering was below par for the SwissBelhotel Group...an exception..the chcken porridge was good. Part ofthis may be attributed to the remote location of Ambon from the rest ofIndonesia. Most importantly except for the Manager and another member ofthe reception staff, the rest of the reception staff had a poor commandof the English language and I had to struggle to help them understandbasically simple issues like I needed an extra towel in my room as Iwanted to take my room towel to the beach. Of course there were othermiscommunications like when I asked them what was the basis or cost ofmaking a call from the hotel to a local cellular number....they did noteven understand the question and said that the amount would be on mybill eventually. The bathroom shower was badly designed as it hasexpensive tempered glass on one side and the other side adjoining thebathroom door was just a curtain so the water tended to splash into theroom. Upon check in I discovered that they accorded me a non-smokingroom which has been smoked it. They could not believe it until Iinsisted they came up and smelled the air in the room. They upgraded methen without additional cost to another room with a great view of AmbonBay...without the smoke.

Review 60:It is a swanking new hotel and everything looks new. All in all despitethe complaints this is the newest hotel in town and I am told thecleanest. Be aware that in Indonesia people smoke all over the placeeven in coffee houses, lounges and bars. The hotel is close to severalgood local restaurants one of which is the Imperial Restaurant whichserves great seafood, prawns, crabs, lobsters at affordable prices. Iwend there twice.
