Review 5:Parking around the hotel is difficult but manageable if you are willing to drive around the block a few times

Review 6:In our travels in Greece, this ranks best in terms of value for money and best rooms and facilities. We travelled more than 3 weeks and stayed in 7 different hotels

Review 7:Modern room and spacy, nice shower, nice tv, iron&ironing board. Good location, downtown and a lot of food choices. Good wifi. Really great value for money choice

Review 8:no hot water kettle in room for coffee or tea. breakfast very limited altho the breakfast area itself is fine.

Review 9:conveniently located, great staff, small, simple but adequate. inexpensive clothes cleaners across the street. neighborhood tavernas close by and short walk to the cafes and shop in the center of town.

Review 10:We were happily upgraded to a very deluxe suite, without even asking, just because it was available and the staff seemed to want us to have the best possible experience! We did!

Review 11:Great location. Breakfast was good with enough choices. Rooms were comfortable and with enough space. Beds could have been a bit better but for a day or two it was ok. Would stay here again.

Review 12:Breakfast was limited for me personally

Review 13:Excellent location, lovely room clean neat and tidy with nice balcony and beds very comfortable. Will stay again when I return to Heraklion in Feb

Review 14:None

Review 15:The location of this hotel was excellent right in the center of downtown. The service was great and very, very friendly. Unfortunately we could not have the breakfast as we were leaving for the airport at 7am

Review 16:Nothing

Review 17:Beautiful room on the roof. Great view, possibillety to sit outside, great room. Good breakfast, a lot of nice restaurants around the corner. Man at the reception, very kind

Review 18:Hotel is situated in a quiet street in the center so you can have a good night's sleep without disturbing noise. Many sights, supermarket, shops etc. are at a short walking distance. Staff were helpful!

Review 19:Hotel was very modern, clean and had good lighting. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone. Great value too.

Review 20:The bed was 2 beds put together. The margin was very noticeable. Otherwise furnishings were fantastic.

Review 21:Excellent breakfast with lots of options. Great shower. Top notch TV. VERY HELPFUL STAFF. Lighting great.

Review 22:The coffee and the "orange juice" at breakfast were awful. Change it, guys! They don't match the deliciosos buffet

Review 23:Central location, comfortable bed, renovated bathroom. Kostas, the night guy at the reception, was very nice. And I got the Kazantakis-themed bedroom. Loved it!

Review 24:Breakfast was lacking....not weel stocked or maintained. No glasses when needed ran out of cereal and fruit

Review 25:Good location for centre of Town aand the Harbour

Review 26:Not something special in the breakfast but again for the money spent it is an excellent choice.

Review 27:It was a nice clean hotel, with pleasant staff that try to assist you. Given that is a 3 star it surely meets with expectations (i think this is why it is highly rated). Value for money, greatly appreciated.

Review 28:Very central location, near the port, close to the center, supermarket, but quient in the tiny street. Breakfast is very good. We have a balcony, we can see the ocean in the far side of the end of the street at balcony.

Review 29:Everything was absolutely fine for us. The hotel might be a bit difficult for wheel chairs as the ramp is quite steep but I am sure the helpful staff would do the pushing.

Review 30:The location of the hotel was ideal in that we hired a car for the time we were there to explore Crete and wanted a 'City centre' hotel to return to each day so that we could dine in style. That was exactly what we achieved. The hotel was spotlessly clean, comfortable and the decor was of a high standard. The continental style breakfast was absolutely first class. Excellent value for money

Review 31:Charged me 50 cents to print out my boarding pass - that was just cheap and left a bad taste in my mouth.

Review 32:Fantastic location right close to the centre of old town but fairly quiet. Staff were helpful. And the breakfast was terrific.

Review 33:Breakfast could be improved with more fresh ingredients.

Review 34:The view and the upgrade to the suite were great! thank you. The position and flexibility of the Hotel.

Review 35:Almost not working WiFi in the room. Now lunch box for leaving early in the morning before breakfast time.

Review 36:Hotel in the very center - in 15 minutes walk bus station, Archeological Museum (a must in Irakleon!), bus stops to airport and Knossos, in 5 minutes - marina and Venetian fort.

Review 37:Beds and were very hard and uncomfortable and the furnishing and bedding grubby and old. The bathroom was shocking. The noise from the nearby club went on until 3am

Review 38:the view

Review 39:That we only could stay 1 night.

Review 40:Rooms are comfortable and stylish. Nice bathroom. Good location in Iraklion near the old port. Booked a single room which actually was a double room. Great value!

Review 41:Access for elderly customers with big cases ( we witnessed this) was challenging, but staff very helpful.

Review 42:Near the centre of Heraklion, very friendly staff & nicely presented (though compact) room

Review 43:- bed has many scratches (in all rooms we have seen)

Review 44:+ Nice location near the bars and tavernas + Nice looking room design (but not really new) + Great bed (but also not new) + Nice staff + Clean

Review 45:Everything was perfect, nothing we particularly disliked so overall really happy.

Review 46:Excellent room facilities with great views and great internal design. It was in right in the middle of the city and by the coast and very convenient to get to from the central bus stop.

Review 47:Twins beds put together as a double bed - but this seems to be standard practice at 3 star hotels in Greece

Review 48:The best bathroom of all the hotels I stayed at in Greece, completely modern and renovated with a decent shower. Great location, only a minute walk to the main street.

Review 49:Nice hotel in old part of Heraklion. Easy to walk from hotel around old town. 3 good restaurants nearly. Staffvery helpful. Room clean and comfortable.

Review 50:Modern room, very clean and comfortable and with direct access to a very nice terrace on the top floor. View was nothing special as the hotel is located in the center of the city, but the terrace was nice to have a place to get some fresh air. Good variety in breakfast.

Review 51:Easy to find, good location - a few minutes from the bus station and within 5-10 minutes of the main attractions in Heraklion. Very modern room, a good size and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free left luggage service.

Review 52:We could hear the TV and noises in the wardrobe of the room next door really loud.

Review 53:Great, stylish room with a super comfy bed, a small balcony and direct access to the rooftop terrace. Breakfast was very good. Great location close to restaurants, nightlife and bus station/ferry terminal

Review 54:A bit off the main beat but close to the coast. Heraklia is on its airports flight path so a bit noisy at night.

Review 55:I felt that every effort was made to make the hotel live up to its rating. I was happy with this hotel and would recommend it. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 56:Very good location with 2-3 minutes walking distance to city center and about 5 minutes to the harbor. They also have reduced parking costs for city-center parking garage (6 EUR per day at the time of stay).

Review 57:If you are traveling with a car it is not convenient at all. The hotel does not offer free parking and parking on the street is impossible. Only private parking is offered.

Review 58:Centrally located, very helpful staff.

Review 59:Centrally located and offered a clean and comfortable room and a lovely breakfast. Thank you Natasha for your friendly welcoming smile and helping us with our parking.

Review 60:We stayed only one night but we appreciated the professionnal people at the desk and the very well situated location. As any modern travellers wifi is quite important and was available through out the whole establisment and the speed was more than decent.

Review 61:Nothing.

Review 62:Great location (5 min from the airport by Taxi), walking distance from the sea and main street with shops, bars, market etc. Room was very nice (with Balcony) and very clean. Reception was helpful as well with every question. I am very satisfied and will definitely book again once in Heraklion.

Review 63:Hard to reach by car - check your map before driving to the hotel Bread selection at breakfast could be improved

Review 64:Friendly and helpful staff Central location Big bed and balcony Coffee selection at breakfast Fast internet

Review 65:A nice bright hotel with fairly new and modern decor and a friendly and helpful staff. The location is good being right on the edge of the older section of the city and convenient to everything. Bear in mind that this is a smallish hotel in Crete. It's great for what and where it is.

Review 66:Restroom a bit small. The elevetor was not really useful.

Review 67:A really confortable room, good bed, airconditioned, fridge. Staff really friendly and helpful, good breakfeast. Near to several restaurants and facilites.

Review 68:Location - close to airport - lift - reception very helpful - good breakfast- close to shopping / local tourist market and local buses - good air conditioning.

Review 69:The guy at the reception - his attitude towards guests can be defined as polite indifference. Room is really small. Limited choice of breakfast staples. I asked for a late check-out, after thorough consideration by a manager we were finally granted a half an hour (I repeat - thirty minutes) grace period.

Review 70:Location, room design, wi-fi signal's strength

Review 71:internet sucks...in the 3rd floor it does not work at all...in the lobby, it is also not that promising...

Review 72:location is very nice...breakfast is quite good...

Review 73:The bed can be little bit too small. I went with my friend and we constantly bump into each other during sleep.

Review 74:Excellent location, close to the sea and also to top-ranked restaurants, very nice. The staff is very friendly.

Review 75:Tiny room, can't walk around the whole bed. Sound odd but, very loud fridge - I woke us both up throughout the night!

Review 76:Fine location - town is small so everywhere else is just as good. Breakfast is fine

Review 77:We asked for a twin-bed room in a high floor, but got only a second-floor room with no views. Safe-box is not included in the price, which is not so reasonable.

Review 78:Kastro Hotel seems to have undergone a renewal to make it friendly and very comfortable. Spectacular breakfast buffet and a very handy location to move to the main attraction in Heraklion, Cnossos, makes of Kastro hotel a place to be considered.

Review 79:There was no free parking provided by tbe hotelwhich is a minus if you have a car you need park in one of the parking lots for 4to6 €. Also they didnt provide us with a minibar but thats totaly fine. One alst thing i really didnt like is that i needed to prind my boarding pass from my email i would expect them to tell me to send them to their email by they told me to go to a computer and pay for it it was .50 € for 15 min which is not something a hotel should do

Review 80:Location is great. Rooms are amazing and verry nice. Rooms are also spacious and clean. The rooms have nice decoration. The lights are nice. The staff are so sweet. The price is good

Review 81:The breakfast was quite mediocre, but adequate.

Review 82:The staff were very helpful, and the hotel is only a short walk or drive from Heraklion port and the venetian fort. There are some very nice restaurants nearby, as well as boutique shops and cafes. The decor is modern and new, and the room was very clean.

Review 83:We had a room on the 5th floor (roof top) so we could hear all the planes landing and taking off! Besides, we could hear the TV from the room next to ours very clearly.

Review 84:In the center of Heraklion. Warm welcome. Spacious room. Good breakfast. Modern furniture

Review 85:Nothing negative. I don't think you can ask for more for the price.

Review 86:Very nice hotel for the price. Very modern, well kept up, nicely decorated and cheery environment. Quite fashion conscious and orientated. Near the center and the port, and lots of restaurants and shops in the area. A good choice.

Review 87:The location was great and the hotel was very modern. There was also a very nice terrasse with plants and fake grass that looked like real Breakfast was good. We really enjoyed it

Review 88:Bring your own washcloths if you like, Greek hotels don't have any.

Review 89:Very helpful staff, well stocked breakfast. Modern rooms with fridge. Shower with doors (not curtain).Convenient location with elevator. Had a balcony, useful for drying clothes. Walked to the restaurants and harbor.

Review 90:Very nice welcome and good location in the center of Heraklion. A lot of information on Crete and restaurants provided at reception desk. Easy to book a car from the hotel. Nice bathroom in the rooms. Roof terrace is a plus where you can take fresh air and relax.

Review 91:Air con free in room beds really good comfy

Review 92:We only stayed for night before we checked into our main hotel we arived late staff were very nice showed us stright to our room very nice

Review 93:Last stay our room was rather small.

Review 94:The position of this hotel is excellent. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Stayed here on two occasions in the past few weeks and always very helpful.

Review 95:Hotel is well located, 300 metres from the sandy beach, 300 metres from the heart of Kissamos. It is very pleasant for a short stay of a few days. Staff is friendly and efficient. Very nice indeed !

Review 96:The hotel is very good located in the city center. Close to shopping area and sea. Sea port is just within 10 minutes walking. The room was very nice, clean and equipped with all necessities. Breakfast has good selection of local products, many fruits and pastries. We stayed in the hotel only for 1 night and I think it is more than good for short stays.

Review 97:The man at the reception was polite but didn't really make us feel welcome.

Review 98:Nice hotel with good location in the centre of the city with many good restaurants and bars just around the corner!

Review 99:Quite spacious room with sea glimpses. We had a separate area with two club chairs and robe leading out onto the generous balcony with imitation grass and comfortable chairs and table. Plenty of storage space, coffee maker, mini fridge, iron and ironing board. Large bathroom with full sized spa bath and separate spacious shower. Reception staff were very helpful. Good location, close to the port

Review 100:Streets near the hotel are really narrow and hard to navigate by car.

Review 101:Modern design, spacious and really comfortable rooms. Good location near the city center.

Review 102:Perfect stay. Well located, close to the waterfront, port, taverns, bars and bus stop to Cnossos. The apartment is new and modern, very comfortable, clear and spacious, spotlessly clean, with good sound proof doors and all facilities working perfectly, including wifi. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a terrace with a wide view of the city. Breakfast is awesome, very varied, with all kinds of Greek delicacies and a coffee machine at disposal. The price is quite low for European standards, considering all you get. I will definitely stay there again.

Review 103:Nothing to report here!

Review 104:I thoroughly enjoyed my three-night stay at the Kastro at the start of my recent tour of Crete. The hotel is very well located in easy reach of the harbour, museum, bus stations and so on. But street outside is quiet at night. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and well-appointed. Buffet breakfast was excellent, with do-it-yourself Dakos and lavosh being two highlights. Very good value.

Review 105:you can eat and drink (and shop) in Heraklion but nothing else (I mean, there is nothing interesting to see)... but this is not the mistake of the hotel :-)

Review 106:good place to sleep (center, not noisy, clean, good shower) ... my first place in greece with a really working normal shower

Review 107:The design of the room was really modern and nice. Check out the words on the ceiling of the room when you off all your lights. It is also perfectly located opposite a restaurant that serves great food.

Review 108:When checking out I was told that the hotel wouldn't take a credit card, even though it's listed that it will. We did not have cash and when we told the clerk, he told us we would just have to walk to the town square to the ATM and get cash. This took us a while therefore making us late to our next destination.

Review 109:Location

Review 110:-- Although at the time of booking the price was given in euro, and I had a euro bank card, it was suddenly charged in USD, and I've lost some ~5 euro due to exchage rates. Not really a big deal.

Review 111:-- Hotel is located in a very quiet street in the very center of Heraklion, near the Theotokopulou park/square. It's very easy to get anywhere. -- The room was clean, with a sea view. -- Ladies at the reception were friendly and helpful, they spoke very good English. -- Breakfast was very generous, guests were instructed on how to make dakos themselves. -- Wi-fi connection was OK.

Review 112:Nothing except taxi dropped me off 1 block away and had to lug luggage to hotel.

Review 113:Great bathroom, bed, location, price, breakfast, super clean, 24 hour staff.

Review 114:only negatives were the position of the toilet, as described in a previous review and a bathroom shelf would have been useful. The breakfast was adequate for the two days I was there, but would have become dull if the stay was longer.

Review 115:the staff were all very helpful

Review 116:Breakfast was disappointing: the most standard hotel you can get although choice is broad. The hotel hallways and rooms can become very hot. Parking is a challenge.

Review 117:Room was ok and bathroom was design equipped. Hotel is ok for a night but misses charm to stay longer.

Review 118:Breakfast was average with no hot food and an orange drink rather than real juice. The only hotel that we stayed in over two weeks of touring Crete that charged to use the room safe.

Review 119:Pretty central and 10 minutes from the bus station. Not located in the greatest looking area but fine once inside. The room was pretty basic but would be fine for a day or two; bathroom had an excellent shower. Helpful staff on reception.

Review 120:- the cigarette smoke smell that came from the ventilation system from a neighbouring room - that we only stayed one night!

Review 121:- great location: so central, everything walkable (2 min walk from the waterfront, near delicious and affordable places) - the room: so comfortable and with all the amenities... comfiest bed we've had in a while!!! - the buffet breakfast: varied and good - and last but not least the very helpful staff

Review 122:The staff are most helpful. The location is very good to have acces to all that's needed within walking distance. Don't forget to check out the roof-top garden where your own glass of wine in the sun can be enjoyed.

Review 123:This was our second stay and it was even more enjoyable than our first - if that was possible. The location, our room and the outstanding staff make this a top hotel.

Review 124:During my stay last week of April, main lobby painting was taking place, but I think they were in preparation for the summer season.

Review 125:Walking distance to ferry port, markets, shopping, museums. 10 minute/12 euro ride by taxi to/from the airport. Pleasant, helping staff, always working elevator/lift. Bottled water always available at low price. Cafeteria is stocked with very good coffee, other drinks, and balanced breakfast food.

Review 126:Hotel is tucked away and a bit hard to find if you're driving.

Review 127:Very comfortable beds, good sized room, excellent breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
