Reviews for Bunratty Manor Hotel

Review 1:Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed on the night of our visit due to preparations for the hotel's New Year's eve dinner the next day. A great shame for us, as the menu and anticipated service for the New Year's guests looked terrific.

Review 2:Exceptional welcome, very friendly yet professional staff and perfect freshly cooked breakfast. This hotel is providing a service that we consider above it's present status level - we will stay again, no problem!

Review 3:Arrived late to the hotel, but the staff were than helpful in organising a table in the restaurant for us. Room, food and ambience in this hotel was fantastic

Review 4:The staff at the desk was excellent in checking us in and out, also giving us restaurant recommendations. The family room was clean and spacious for four. We would stay again!

Review 5:We would have liked if breakfast was included in the price.

Review 6:The room was so spacious and clean. The Hotel was beautifully decorated for Halloween. It was so cosy and welcoming.

Review 7:Nothing here that I didn't like.

Review 8:If you want affordable comfort, then Bunratty Manor Hotel is a must in this area. It's quiet, close to pubs, restaurants and the Castle. Will definitely stay there again.

Review 9:the room could have used updating. Construction outside the window began very early!

Review 10:close to all the Bunratty Park features. Staff was delightfully helpful!

Review 11:No bad experience, some of the rooms have no air conditioning which if it is warm could be a problem for some.

Review 12:The people who run the hotel are very nice and mostly family , it is more like a bed and breakfast then a hotel.

Review 13:We had booked a room for 3 family members. Due to a flight cancellation, 2 were unable to arrive in Bunratty, and the third person was left by herself. The hotel staff was really supportive, finding her a room at 8am so she could sleep after an overnight flight, giving plenty of useful advice on the area and how she could get back to the airport to meet the rest of her party on the following day. Although 2 of us were unable to stay there, we really appreciate the kindness shown to our niece.

Review 14:We were welcomed into the restaurant by owner and then everything wentdownhill. Service terrible, a bus arrived and we could event get ourdinner bill. We walked to the front desk to have it added to our roomcharge and the owner chased after us as though we were trying not to paythe bill! Wake up call never came, would have missed our flight back tothe states, remote for tv was no where to be found in the room.

Review 15:Location to the airport is excellent.

Review 16:Walls very thin, didn't sleep well with the noise from other guests. The bed and pillows were not comfortable. Very small TV with only three channels.

Review 17:Great large bedroom and bath. Beautiful decor. Prize winning fish chowder not to be missed. Staff exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Walking distance to Bunratty Castle, shopping and Dirty Nelly's Pub.

Review 18:Noel the manager made us feel very welcome, taking time out to chat. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with beautiful lounge and dining areas. The food was nice too.

Review 19:We couldn't stay longer... ;-)

Review 20:The staff were just the best!!! I cannot stress this enough... Everything was perfect. The bar, the food everything is the way you would expect a place should be and always fall short.. This place was great!!! Thanks to everyone and we will make this a regular stay on our trips to West Claire and Galway area..

Review 21:The locality. The impression given by Booking.com is that it is in an actual village. However there is nothing there except the castle, folk park and gift shop.

Review 22:The food was 5 star. The chef, Gary, was definitely Michelin standard. The staff were very pleasant and the rooms were clean.

Review 23:TV didn't go and we let reception know. They said it was probably battery for the remote and would bring us one and this didn't happen. Also checked out early and night manager didn't know how to use EftPos properly , luckily next manager came just as we were leaving and knew how to use.

Review 24:The rooms are dated. The rugs should be replaced. The bathroom was dirty. Cigarette butts and garage left in the bathroom. Disappointing.

Review 25:Very close to Bunratty Castle and Shannon Airport

Review 26:Wifi was intermittent, particularly in the rooms. Cold breakfast buffet was mediocre.

Review 27:Perfect location for flying in/out of Shannon. Hotel was clean and also right next to Bunratty Folk Park. Bathroom was very spacious.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:Lovely warm welcome from all the staff. Room very comfortable and clean. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Good selection for breakfast. All round great value hotel. Very close to the castle and folk village.

Review 30:The Bunratty Manor's location was very convenient to the Shannon Airport. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities were comfortable.

Review 31:Bar staff seemed to prefer to serve locals before guests. One in particular did not have a good manner. Breakfast poor, breakfast service very poor eventhough there were only 8 in the room. Our group was charged for 8 breakfasts when we only had 6

Review 32:Ladies on reception very welcoming and helpful. Lovely decor. comfortable rooms

Review 33:The breakfast felt boring and non-creativ. The bed was very hard. I wish more hotels in Ireland could get mattress to the beds so they are more comfortable.

Review 34:Very nice room, specially the bathroom, nice hotel all in all.

Review 35:Entire staff were lovely and very accommodating. The dinner was excellent! The manor is charming and the outdoor areas are very pretty. Great location. Short walk to Bunratty Castle and short cab ride to Shannon Airport. Would definitely stay here again!

Review 36:No complaints, whilst I rated facilities low this was only because the hotel had no gym/pool but we were not looking for that anyway!

Review 37:Fantastic location, especially for families. Our room was very spacious, very clean and extremely comfortable. Had a great nights sleep - we were in a deluxe room after getting a free upgrade! Will be back for sure!!

Review 38:The smaller scale of this hotel made you feel at home. As a single traveler the staff were friendly and chatty so you did not feel alone. I had a non working T.V. which was taken care of immediately and I will definetly be staying here again!!

Review 39:Fabulous food! Terrific location for the castle; the helpful of Noah in finding someone on Saturday night to replace our flat tire before we had to leave in the early morning - this was service unexpected. Kudos to this boutique hotel.

Review 40:Our door was very difficult to lock, but they'd really the only complaint.

Review 41:The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Athough the hotel is not located in a major city, there is enough to do around town to keep you entertained for at least an afternoon and/or evening. For us, it was a pit-stop town between major attractions/cities, and was a great way for us to see what a small town local Irish town was like.

Review 42:First night of a two week holiday so we were a little tired from the travel but the people and facility were lovely. Very close to Bunratty Castle and some pubs and shopping so it was perfect for what we needed.

Review 43:We knew we would arrive late from Doolin. The lady we spoke to on the way said that it would be okay. She was really welcoming and took care of our needs. We found a stained comforter and she replaced it immediately as well as apologizing for it. My 3 yr old said that he liked it and my wife and I do too since it was clean and nicely kept. They even had an adaptor for the socket for us to borrow since we left ours.

Review 44:Everything was wonderful!

Review 45:Hotel service and accommodations were excellent. Room was ready. My favorite thing about Bunratty Manor is that everyone there goes out of their way to meet our needs, even special requests. It is warm, comfortable and homelike. Restaurant is superb, both food and service.

Review 46:We got a great deal on a deluxe room. It was spacious with a comfortable bed and fantastic bathroom, and all of the staff were helpful and cheerful. We wish we hadn't planned only one night here. Highly recommend.

Review 47:hot water down on arrival but everything else was rather good expecially for the price.

Review 48:We stayed there mainly for the proximity to the airport as we had an early flight and I could barely move with a pinched nerve in my back. It did not start very well, hot water down , but the staff was very resonsive and made it all work out... internet was good enough and we even found a local osteopath that reated me immediately....

Review 49:Hotel was clean and comfortable with spacious rooms including all of the amenities you could ever need including USB ports and USA outlets! Our hosts were wonderful and very attentive.

Review 50:Beautiful hotel with a country house look and feel. Very welcoming and helpful. I was given a lift to meet friends and when I left my phone charger behind they forwarded it on to my next location.

Review 51:This is a great hotel. Good location near Shannon Airport, but also an easy walk to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful; gladly arranged a taxi to pick us up. Very comfortable bed and a nice size hotel room. Would highly recommend.

Review 52:Extremely friendly & helpful staff, as well as a welcoming & engaging proprietor. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The bar was cozy & inviting. I will visit again and highly recommend a stay.

Review 53:We were very happy with the hotel. The "family room" (#20) was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was large and modern, with great water pressure and hot water in the shower, the bedding was clean and lovely, but most of all the staff was lovely and helpful, especially when we stumbled in at 5 am after flying into Shannon airport, dazed with jet lag and lack of sleep. We liked it so much we booked again for the night before we flew out.

Review 54:Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 55:Staff were very welcoming. Very clean and the bed was so so comfortable, we didn't want to get up! Breakfast was very nice.

Review 56:We chose Bunratty Manor, 1st, because of location to airport 10 mins. away and 2nd, exc. pricepoint at 99Euros. It was very neat, with prints of local color in hallways that added character, but something totally unexpected was the dinner and service. Our gold standard for dining. is Ballymaoloe House where we've stayed frequently, and have eaten in many restaurants with Ballymaloe trained chefs. The food was equal to that, and when we asked if chef had trained at the school, we were told, no, he was self-taught! Manor and restaurant are virtually run by family members, parents and siblings..all very knowledgeable, professional and sevice oriented. There was a wedding party there while we stayed overnight, so we were put on 2nd floor in Room 11, and heard no sound whatsoever from 38 + guests. Can't recommend the Manor highly enough.

Review 57:Downsides..1.bar drink quite expensive! 2.inclusive price with breakfast not offered

Review 58:Lovely clean comfortable rooms with everything we needed. Really pleasant professional staff. Would love to go back to Bunratty and would stay at the Manor.

Review 59:Loved the location, close to all the delights of bunratty. Very relaxing, lovely sitting room area. Did not eat here this time, but have plenty times before and wonderful food. Plenty of parking which is always welcome. Very quiet.

Review 60:Could definitely do with a grab rail to get in and out of the shower safely. As the bathroom is large there is nothing to hang onto when stepping out. I have treated many people who have secured head injuries getting in/out of a bath. Or shower over a bath.

Review 61:The hughe bedroom and large bathroom. Tea making facilities. Very cosy, warm and comfortable. We could not access the free WiFi. No matter how many times we tried using smart phone and tablet. I would return.

Review 62:We are returning guests to Bunratty Manor but this visit was as good as all the others. We were made feel so welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay as always. Friendly staff fabulous facilities excellent food, words cannot explain adequately how great Bunratty Manor is.

Review 63:The room was at the end of the hall near the back stairs. There wasn't much sound insulation and we could hear people coming and going during the night. It felt that they were coming into the room, the sound was so clear. Other than that the room was lovely

Review 64:Loved everything.

Review 65:Very convenient to Bunratty Folk Park and Castle - always a wonderful intro to medieval Irish life. So accommodating with lovely bar & parlor space to stay warm & relax.

Review 66:Wifi was not accessible in all of the 3 rooms our family had.

Review 67:Breakfast was very good and great selection, although not included in room rate. Location is 5 mins walk to Bunratty castle, Durty Nellie's, and Creamery restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Comfortable and quiet rooms.

Review 68:The ONLY negative thing I could say is that the water pressure wasn't very good... and that is just being picky. That didn't change my opinion of my stay, though.

Review 69:The accommodations, location and staff were wonderful. We felt at home as soon as we stepped in. We have two boys, 8 and 6, who were welcomed and enjoyed the stay. The food was great as well. The Bunratty Manor was a short 5 minute walk to the castle, shops and pubs. We will be back.

Review 70:I booked this hotel for my husbands 40th birtbday with both families. Gorgeous family run hotel with great staff. We will definitely be returning to this Gem!

Review 71:No elevator, only stair access to upper floor. Wi-Fi signal was very spotty. My room was at very far end of building, but if advertise the service...should provide it.

Review 72:Air conditioning! Nice location, short walk to Bunratty Festival, quiet and clean.

Review 73:Although all the positive points, the hotel lacks a maintenance team, many tiny things broken or don't work.

Review 74:Size of the room Cleanliness Very kind staff Excellent restaurant Quiet Close to the airport and Limerick

Review 75:The room had a dormer bedroom above it and I could hear all the movements and footsteps above me. Had a very poor nights sleep.

Review 76:Location was good. Room was clean.

Review 77:Proximity to Shannon Airport. We were on late flight so checked in v late which was not a problem to the lovely staff. Very comfortable hotel with a friendly welcoming feel.

Review 78:My first night there were some very noisy people upstairs who had TV on until after 10 pm and were very heavy footed; also early in the morning.

Review 79:The staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The facility feels very homey and comfortable. The gardens are beautiful. The breakfast was wonderful.

Review 80:Family run hotel, quiet location, staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast plentiful with lots of choice. Location superb for Bunratty Castle and sight seeing.

Review 81:Advertised as a hotel and restuarent but the restuarent was closed Mondays and we were there on Monday .There was a great restuarent right across the street.

Review 82:This was our last day before flying out from Shannon so Bunratty Manor was a great location

Review 83:This is a very dated hotel. WIndows were broken. Tile in bathroom was cracked. Needs updating. Was given an older room when specifically requested different room. Just very old. Would not return. Do not trust pics these places post.

Review 84:Easy walk to village. It is a tiny village so everything is close. Great place to visit because of Bunratty Castle. Good location to get to airport. Village is good last stop before flying out of Shannon.

Review 85:There was no wifi in the room itself, which was a requirement for me. I had to sit in a common area to do work. There was no a/c in the room, and as it was warm, the room was uncomfortable. My room was on the ground floor, so I could not open the window to allow fresh air in, since the window was so large you could step through it into the parking lot.

Review 86:The Staff were very accommodating and pleasant. The hotel itself was quaint. The room was a good size.

Review 87:My wife and I stayed for one night in a family room with two children ages 5 and 6. The family room was spacious, the staff really friendly and helpfull and the addon breakfast charge (we'd booked room only) was excellent value, as the breakfast was really good, including my request for gluten free bread for one of our children. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 88:We felt looked after. It was clear that our enjoyment was important. One of us arrived after the official restaurant serving times but they were happy to hang on for her. Very good food.

Review 89:No dislikes

Review 90:Wonderful location - walking distance to Bunratty Castle. Only stayed for one night and wished it would have been for longer. Very quiet and clean hotel with very friendly staff. Loved the decor.

Review 91:Lovec everything about this place, affordable, comfortable, easy walking distance to Bunratty Castle and village. Superb food and wine, award winning chowder, best customer service ever. Made you feel at home and like family. Best place I stayed in Ireland.

Review 92:I loved everything

Review 93:The room was fantastic spacious and the shower and bathtub was huge.also had dinner in the restaurant and I have never tasted soup like it ever 10/10 the waiter was also extremely helpfull and friendly would deffintly go back

Review 94:The room was quite small and the carpet needed to be replaced (or at least cleaned?). No elevator.

Review 95:Walking distance to restaurants. Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Nice dining room with wonderful breakfast. So easy to get to from the highway and so easy to get to the Shannon airport.

Review 96:WI-fi signal so weak we couldn't use internet and no hot water one morning

Review 97:Great location within walking distance to shops and restaurants Friendly, helpful staff with excellent breakfast and restaurant. Quiet comfortable room with good size bathroom

Review 98:Went with another couple; they had lovely spacious room that look similar to website. Ours was much smaller and nothing like that advertised so bit disappointed with that.

Review 99:Nice quiet hotel and nice walk to village. Good breakfast

Review 100:Last morning we had no hot water & no internet connection. Reported to staff & they responded quickly to resolve (successful) & also discounted the rate due to the issues we experienced. So didn't like the fact that we had problems...but happy that they were resolved quickly without fuss.

Review 101:Relaxing, comfortable bar/restaurant area. The meals provided were excellent. Staff responded quickly with no fuss to resolve a couple of issues encountered.

Review 102:No elevator. We only had small bags as we were staying just one night but if we were disabled or had large bags this could be an issue. No staff except "desk clerk" (who was very helpful) evident to assist if needed.

Review 103:Location close to airport but not on top of it. We were there only for one night before departing from Shannon. Arrived late in the day so we could not visit Bunratty Folk Park, castle, etc. but this would be a good choice for that purpose. Restaurant was excellent.

Review 104:The staff are very friendly and helpful. Beautiful hotel. Lovely clean rooms.shower was perfect. Highly recommend.

Review 105:Over all a very positive experience It was a little bit of a walk to the centre of the village

Review 106:We really enjoyed dinner and the service was super

Review 107:Cute friendly B & B feel. Stayed for 1 night before leaving Shannon airport.

Review 108:We booked this hotel because of its location - close to Bunratty Castle as we had booked for the banquet dinner

Review 109:The homely atmosphere was so relaxing. Food was super

Review 110:Lovely small hotel. Very comfortable and nothing too much trouble. Great staff especially Maureen. Walking distance to pubs and shopping.

Review 111:Great staff. Noel was extremely entertaining

Review 112:Very freindly staff.very relaxed atmospher.Great location .Would definitely go back
