Reviews for Portbeg Holiday Homes at Donegal Bay
Review 1:The sofas are quite old and could do with upgrading. Shower in bathroom was not working properly. Contact number provided was uncontactable
Review 2:Houses were spacious and warm.
Review 3:Internet was patchy but the weather was very bad and may have been the cause. Didnt spoil our stay.
Review 4:Great location well equipped property. Clean and tidy.
Review 5:House was pretty, we'll maintained and spacious. Great value for the money. Staff was very welcoming and friendly, even brought us free wood, coal and kindling to make a fire in the lovely open fireplace in the sitting room. Great location too, very close to town, easy walk, but nice and quiet at night.
Review 6:TV channels temperamental, we brought plenty to do but could be an issue for smaller groups
Review 7:Fantastic location, plenty of room for grandparents, parents and 5 children.open fire was great
Review 8:I did keep driving past the opening in the dark. A wee light on the sign would be good. Gey close to the cliffs if you have wee ones!
Review 9:Wonderful setting and lovely house. A great break and really friendly folk.
Review 10:Incredible location. So close to the water, walking distance to Bundoran shops and pubs. Huge kitchen with it's own sitting area as well as a very cozy living room.
Review 11:House was beautiful and staff were really helpful and friendly. Brilliant location and great walk alone the shore to beach which was really safe for children. Wifi is available although it did not state this on site. It's only €5 for 3 days and had a great strength. Can't wait to stay again. Will def be making it an annual trip.
Review 12:We didn't have a bad experience at all. They run these holiday homes in a very organised way and are on hand to assist if required. One thing though which we found was having to leave by 10.00am. This was quite difficult to sort when we had young children and elderly lady with us. Another hour to leave would have helped immensely. But we managed and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 13:It was a very clean and spacious house. We booked for 8 guests with very young children and we're supplied with cots. The house was well kitted out with showers and toilets and the kitchen was faultless with everything in it you need. The distance to the town is walkable. We had a really enjoyable stay and our accommodation made all the difference.
Review 14:There was nothing we didnt like about portbeg.would go back in the morning.
Review 15:We loved the space in the house, lots of room for all my family and so close to beach and town.
Review 16:Couple of the showers didn't get very warm water
Review 17:Absolutely fantastic house, great location, simple check in and in a great location. Will definitely be going again.
Review 18:nothing bad to say about it did not want to go back home could have stayed there forever
Review 19:lovely friendly place holiday home great everything you need very spacious near town with brilliant walkways along the wild atlantic way not too many ships open but enough we went out of season great restarants we loved it can t wait to go back we also saw a few shows at the hotels in the town a very lively place to visit
Review 20:Well I had let them know 6 months in advance that I wanted to change from 8 to 7 nights. They said no problem. When I arrived they gave me a $50 Euro Credit for the night instead of $70. Something about commission to Booking.com which has nothing to do with me. Everything was very dirty (dishes and pans). The beds where horrible. We could only find one shower that sort of worked. We let it all go because we felt the area was so beautiful. The place really was lacking though.
Review 21:Where it was !
Review 22:Heating is controlled by centre office, would be good to be able to control your own central heating.
Review 23:Great house!! Defo would book it again! Great facilities, plenty of space, plenty of towels. Nice welcome pack on table when we arrived.
Review 24:All fanastic
Review 25:The house was semi detached with large bedrooms and everything required e.g. utility room massive kitchen and bedrooms also loads of storage. Checking in was easy.
Review 26:Quite expensive for the two night stay we booked.
Review 27:Very well equipped - all the home comforts you'd need. Nice friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.
Review 28:opening times for the pub. very laid back. just seemed to open whenever, no set hours.chip shop up from the robins nest should be closed, terrible
Review 29:accomadation and location
Review 30:Only one toilet roll in each house for 6 people for 2 nights. So we had to go and buy our own. Showers could do with more power also.
Review 31:Location was great, 10 minute walk from town. Beds comfortable and the houses were decent for the price.
Review 32:We stayed in the accommodation in the town centre rather than the main development. The house looks tired and worn with glass removed from doors. You are not allowed to smoke in the house as you can be fined but the house smelt badly of stale smoke in the living room and particularly the sofa.
Review 33:Location was excellent
Review 34:I really missed stair gates for my 14 month old & a fire guard that went right around the harth. We also had a dog and didn't realise till we got there she wasn't allowed to stay in the house on her own and this restricted us during our stay because the dog had to go everywhere with us.
Review 35:It was very clean with plenty of room.
Review 36:The advertisement bookings.com show you and describe was not the house wee where given.handed a key and a map to find the house in the town.it was not the portbeg houses we expected to stay in.this is false advertising.you need to be exact with customers on what they are expecting.as I didn't know I was in another house until arrival.no mastress covers on beds for hygiene.houses next door overgrown bushes and grass left wild. gardens not looked after which spoil a possible lovely view of the breach.all's you see is a brick wall and over grown weeds and trees.no garden chairs.
Review 37:The kitchen was well equipped.location is good.I did enjoy my stay.and would return if all was fixed below in what I didn't like.as the portbeg houses are lovely.I expected to stay in them.
Review 38:No curtains/blinds on bedroom windows; whole house was dirty - old food on the floor, chairs stained with who knows what, wet dog smell throughout. The beds were very uncomfortable with springs almost exposed.
Review 39:Bedding was clean
Review 40:The location of the 2 bedroom apartment was excellent. Although accessed by stairs, I would recommend it for a family as it was close to the adventure park and water world. Very clean and excellent facilities in the kitchen eg washer-dryer. Washing up liquid, soap and laundry detergent all provided. Gated car park was a plus since much of the parking in Bundoran has become pay and display.
Review 41:we tried to contact them before we reach there as to locate the place. No one picked up the phone. It made some panic and trouble in reach there and we enquired the man about the phone then he told the number is there secretary's and she is holidays. Funny answer, then I got his number and next day morning house alarm went on and I wanted to contact him to get the alarm code the number he gave me was not accessible.
Review 42:Excellent house, clean and well maintained
Review 43:Our original booking was doubled booked and we agreed on the town house, as it was only for 2 nights. The house was clean to look at but on close inspection it looked and smelled like there had been pets in the house previously, in the downstairs were a few pet hairs and a smell from carpet. Street quite run down, and not really anyplace for kids to play as back garden was small with oil tank right in middle. All in all it was ok for the two nights but we were out most of the time.
Review 44:The house itself was nice, had all mod cons in kitchen. Within walking distance of Centre of Bundoran, beaches and play parks for kids. No noise late at night from nearby pubs etc. Would book again to go to Portbeg Holiday Village as this looked lovely, with plenty space for kids and plenty of youngsters out playing, but not to townhouse.
Review 45:we didnt get our seaview and television didnt work properly,we did inform portbeg holiday home but nobody came to sort it out.
Review 46:location was great plenty to do scenery and beaches were fab.
Review 47:Neighbourhood for town houses is not great and definitely not suited to small children as there is no play area. I would recommend families with small children be housed in the main Portbeg facility centre and not the town houses. - tv was not working - could not connect to system - no ironing board - no bags for the hoover
Review 48:cleanliness location near to main town efficiency of staff large house - well maintained.
Review 49:I didnt like the fact you couldnt turn on the heating, the very loud noise of the water pump system, and there was no tumble drier,so I couldnt try clothes when it was raining.
Review 50:I liked the size of the rooms, how clean the house was,the big kitchen and all its facilities.
Review 51:The 2 bed apartments were beside a large car park. On both nights we heard people wheel spinning and speeding around the car park in the early hours. So families might be better to stay in the 4 bedroom houses which are further away.
Review 52:The views were amazing I could sit at the window for hours and it was a good location for shops. The staff I dealth with were lovely and friendly. I loved this little house and enjoyed the few days there.
Review 53:The house was perfect, clean as a whistle, lovely white linen, all equipment that one could need. But the main point was the space. The houses are so enormous! A wonderful feeling of comfort, we easily lost 5 teenage boys in the house, which is unheard of..Thank you for a wonderful night in Bundoran.
Review 54:We bit out of town but was still ok
Review 55:House was lovely and cosy and great room for us all
Review 56:nothing
Review 57:all of it
Review 58:Lovely and warm although would have been nice to control temperature from within house.
Review 59:Feeling of space with cosy-ness of home
Review 60:The houses were very spacious inside and nice and bright.
Review 61:Great house
Review 62:Great large house and garden great for kids to play. Staff are very friendly.
Review 63:From start to finish our time in portbeg was faultless.
Review 64:A little dirty.
Review 65:Very large apartment, will equipped.
Review 66:That I didn't book a longer stay
Review 67:Great location with a path into the town.
Review 68:I loved being so close to the sea and what views and ab lovely town so friendly will return again and would stay in the same place
Review 69:The only thing missing was wifi
Review 70:Spacious house with loads of cupboard space. All electrical appliances inc washing machine, dryer, microwave and dishwasher. Fantastic views
Review 71:Large accommodation space Location
Review 72:Nothing all was great :)
Review 73:Great place to stay and staff were really great. So helpful and nice :)
Review 74:Was difficult to find! Directions where not great!
Review 75:It was in the town, all facility's available for cooking, rooms where big and comfortable
Review 76:Great location, nice view of the sea and Donegal coastline at the rear of the homes as well as a nice sea walk along the cliffs that goes into town.

Review 81:location a little bit far from town
Review 82:Huge house with all furnitures and facilities for a large family

Review 91:No complaints!
Review 92:Great space both inside and outside of the property. Nice and clean. Perfect for families.
Review 93:House could be cleaner. TV to small for size of room. No wi-fi in house.
Review 94:Good Size. Quite Location. Friendly Staff.
Review 95:Loved it had a garden and fully equipped facilities brilliant for people with young children
Review 96:The staff were so helpful. The house was spotless and we felt very at ease there The young people in the other houses were so well behaved we didn't hear any noise in the evenings we were there for a rest and it was perfect
Review 97:Having to pay the deposit of €150 after already paying for the accomadation, I think paying by card secures it enough, Waiting for an hour and 15mins to be checked out , not enough towels in house,
Review 98:It was very close to the beach and other local amenities , lovely view out of the town house window
Review 99:Facilities said Tv and DVD player supplied which they were but they were a bit dated and awkward to figure out - 3 remotes and changing scarts for freeview or dvd. We managed though.
Review 100:Location was brilliant overlooking the sea and a short walk (2min) on to the main street. We were in a townhouse, not the bungalows shown. Would recommend to anyone
Review 101:Location is great, we had our garden and picnic table just in front of the sea and it's really close from city center. House is really big, 4 bedrooms, all ensuite with 10 beds in total and 2 living rooms with a big kitchen. Kitchen is furnished so you have everything to cook (they let us doing a BBQ outside too) Beds are really comfortable, all is very clean. They allowed us to come at 11pm on the first night, and we were allowed to stay up to 4pm on the last day (instead of 10am). Sure they ask for a deposit but if you don't break anything, you will have it back and the house is so great it is just normal. We were a group of 6 friends and we all fall in love with the house, and hoping we can come back soon!
Review 102:Everything was very clean, comfortable, and spacious.plenty of bed linen, towels and everything you need for a family. Very quiet and relaxing. Would recommend Portbegs for a great Family Holiday.
Review 103:too many dogs without leads. dog dirt in gardens where children were playing.
Review 104:houses very spacious and lovely walk along sea front. safe for children.
Review 105:House in big need of some TLC. Matresses v.uncomfortable, dining chairs wobbly, leaking shower.
Review 106:Very frendly staff. House location in town is perfect. Good equipped kitchen.
Review 107:On arrival one toilet was dirty
Review 108:Large spacious modern house with 4 ensuite bathrooms. Kitchen very well equipped - close to sea and 10mins walk into town
Review 109:We stayed in portbeg holiday homes for a weekend and could not fault a thing.Great house within walking distance to town shops and pubs. The staff were very friendly. Will be booking again
Review 110:Kitchen oven could not be used because of burning smell and fan did not work.beds were not comfortable.house wasnt child friendly no stair gate and steep stairs outside.
Review 111:Staff were friendly, house was clean and in a brilliant location.
Review 112:I didnt like paying the full rental amount + the deposit prior to getting the keys. I didnt like that the washing machine didnt work.
Review 113:The location was fantastic from the apartments, free parking and very central.
Review 114:The curtains could have been darker to stop brightness in the morning.
Review 115:Very clean nicely presented house. Close enough to town centre.
