Review 1：Durring our visit was a reconstruction, so it was very loudly form early in the morning and many times we haven't water. It was a problem to give us towels and covers.

Review 4：The man at room service was very helpful and kind. There were no disturbances by the staff. It had a cosy restaurant with excellent food that could be directly delivered to our room. It was very close to the most beautiful places in the city.

Review 5：1. We had to keep reminding the staff to get a work done, like fixing the lights when running on backup power (which was never fixed), get an extra plate (which never arrived) 2. Leaking cistern 3. Things different from what is mentioned in booking.com - no carpets, no towels, no private entrance. 4. When we asked the staff to refill the water jar, they asked us to go to the kitchen and do it ourselves. Who does that??? Wait, that's not it. They asked us not to take more water as the water was being filtered and it'll take more time to replenish it!! 5. The staff finds it very difficult to come to the first floor and return the balance amount.

They said all their 2 room suits were already booked... in that case, how did Booking.com confirm my reservation? 4.I had to settle in for the double bedded room with the third bed as a mattress laid on the floor. 5. The room and the bed was swarming with ants roaches, mosquitoes, insects and baby geckos. They had to sprinkle anti insect powder on the floors to get rid of the insects 6. Construction work was on in the premises and power hammers were used the entire day making a noisy uncomfortable stay. 7. They boast of a "Coffee Hub"... but unfortunately the hub closes too early 8. Did not have a Jug or glasses for water 9. Not the cleanest due to construction work. 10. Hard copy of receipt for payment not available.

Review 27：I booked a taxi through the guest house to get me to Chennai for an early morning flight. The driver showed up half an hour late, and only after a couple of calls to the boss. He then drove much too quickly to try to make up for lost time. Unfortunately, this coloured my experience.

Review 29：We booked into Vinodhara for 1 night but we ended up stayin for 4 as the place was so great. It is in a fantastic locations in the middle of all the cafes and shops and is a 2 minute walk to the beach. The owner is a genuinely lovely man who will help you with anything need. He will help organise trips etc and will give you a guide for how much your should be paying for things so you don't get ripped off! Would highly reccommend this place for anyone travelling and looking for good accommodation for great value!

Review 30：The rat on the balcony wasn't great tough we only saw it once.. The wi fi was very patchy. There were 12 switches in the room and 1 light with a working bulb, the( very noisy) fan and a bathroom light. The rest had dud bulbs or just wires sticking out. No room cleaning was offered over a 4 night stay.

Review 31：The staff, especially in their cafe. Central location Hot, hot water..be careful! Balcony space. Try and get the end one, next to room 8 as nobody walks through then.

Review 32：When I arrieved at 1900h they told me to wait untill they clean the room. When I walked in, the only thing that they did was splash water over the toilet. Hair on bed. Smelly blanket. Dusty. No soap, just cold water. I stayed just one night, since was on the run, but still I would not recomend it, maybe it was just my room.

Review 40：We booked the deluxe room, a little treat for ourself after long days travelling. So as we booked we expected : free wifi, balcony with view, A/C ... the wifi wasn't working, the balcony had a view on a wall. Ok, we can survive with that, but we paid for a room with A/C and after checking in, one of the staff came to take the remote of the A/C as the one in another room wasn't working. It was freezing when we came back in the room, and we didn't have a remote to change the settings. we had to turn it off, and as we couldn't get the remote back, spend the 2 nights without the A/C. no big deal, but still we paid for it. When we checked in, I paid in advance for the 2 nights, and the manager didn't have change, he said he would give it back to me later, he didn't, and when I finally had to ask, he was never available. I would have leave a tip to the rest of the staff who were very nice, but didn't because of that. It's not a bad place, but if you want to stay there, just take a basic room, as updates are just scams.

Review 42：The room had not been cleaned and covers to mattresses were torn and stained. When asked I did tell owner about this and he spoke of plans to replace mattresses and of cleaning room. After I checked out , new guests were checked in without any apparent cleaning and no change to mattresses. Cheaper rates for better accomadation available nearby.

Review 50：Don't expect a luxurious accomodation, but altogether it is a nice place where you can find lots of fellow travellers from all over the world. Expect men to be very flirty towards female European single travellers throughout Mamallapuram.

Review 51：The hotel is centrally located and not far from the beach. It's a good place for a short stay. Book a big room as the small ones are a little stuffy. The big rooms are clean and spacious. The breakfast menue was good.

Review 52：First night many mosquitos in the room. A mosquito net for the bathroom window would be very welcome but I understand from the manager improvements are on the way so I'm sure this will be fixed soon.

Review 53：It's very difficult to find good service in India for non-Indian standards but this hotel offers it. The staff is very friendly and you can count on them if you need anything. The location is good. It's in a very new and clean area next to the old town. It's close to the beaches, many shops and restaurants, all the monuments and the bus stop for busses to and from Chennai and Pondicherry. The wifi is working well in the rooms.
