Review 1：Not pleased with the coffee making facilities in the room, coffee strong and bitter and no proper tea as I know it.

Review 2：Very good place to stay so close for walking into the center of Heraklion. The firewoeks were just around the corner for the New Year celebrations. Good choice of food for breakfast.

Review 3：When traveling with little kids, be aware of the gab that the balconies have in their front. The gap is large enough from the floor to the front of balcony, for a small little 2-3 y old child to slip off, if would crawl to it :(

Review 7：Rooms facing the harbour are quite noisy and doesn't have nice view on the sea. The bathroom is rather extravagant as it doesn't have any door beside the sink. There is one for the shower and a toilet, but not for the whole bathroom corner. Room is quite small. I would not give the hotel 5 stars, but still it is a nice place to stay.

Review 8：Hotel has a nice location, very good breakfast. Rooms are small but clean and quite new. We stayed in this hotel at the night of our anniversary and staff offered us some nice dessert. It was lovely!

Review 10：Arrived from a long days travel from Rome the receptionist suggested we have dinner in the hotel. We enjoyed a lovely buffet dinner and a very sound sleep. Breakfast wow ,too much to choose from ,view from the roof top swimming pool amazing.

Review 20：The hotel is very conveniently located between the port and the city center. The staff is extremely cheerful, friendly and very helpful. They helped us arranging a rental car, and guided us on where we can visit at the island. Breakfast is decent. Wi-Fi is available with a code supplied at your check-in. The pool is at the terrace but do not expect an olympic one; good to sunbathe by its side. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. There are parking spots around the hotel but they are full at times.

Review 21：It was extremely hot and the air conditioning was completelyineffective. To make matters worse it was not controllable in our roomas it is centrally controlled. The fan was so weak that one could barelytell that there was air conditioning and it took at least 3 hours forthe room to cool down barely enough to be able to sleep. Additionallyporters were not available to assist with luggage either on arrival oron departure.

Review 28：The airconditioning on our floor wasn't working. Our complaints were met with indifference. The airco was repaired within the hour, but they could have treated us a bit friendlier. The mirror/glass combination for the bathroom is maybe nice for couples but not great for friends.

Review 56：The hotel area isn't in the nice part of Heraklion. It is about a 10 minute walk to the tourist area. The view of the new harbor is not very nice, it is more industrial. The flight path goes right over the hotel= loud at times!

Does NOT deserve 5 stars rating!

Review 89：The design of the bathroom area is unappealing. When you walk into the room, there is no door to the bathroom, and the shower has transparent glass walls. The toilet, at least, is tucked away in a closet. Although I had asked for a double bed, I received a room with two single beds. I can only imagine how strange it might be to have to share a room with a work colleague and be in "open view" when showering. Also you could hear people talk/walk/cough even though adjoining rooms were empty. I think it must be very noisy during full season. The coffee was very bad during the meeting.

Review 90：The location is excellent, very close to the center (walking distance). There are some parking places in front of the hotel, but it can be difficult to find an empty spot. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant serves very good food for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was diverse. My room was facing the harbor and the view from the balcony was beautiful (room on 4th floor). The WiFi was decent for checking email.

Review 91：The black and white photographs: they are fairly creepy. Plumbing was slightly worrying. The problems were rectified immediately though.

Review 97：We booked a double room with breakfast in a so called 5 star hotel. We had to leave early in the morning because of our flight. We mentioned it to the reception. They said no problem we will serve it at 4:00am without a problem. When we came they served coffee, orange juice and cookies. When I asked for a refund they wrote me that they served continental breakfast. They have to learn to treat customer according to their stars.

Review 103：Aquila Atlantis We were worried that Heraclio would be overwhelming after our days in small island towns, but the Aquila Atlantis made us feel at ease from the moment we entered. It is a elegant hotel and quite busy but we did not have to wait and were taken care of at once. It was late and we were hungry, but we were given directions to a nearby restaurant (so delicious we returned several days later.) our room was lovely and quiet. The breakfast offerings were so elaborate and extensive – it reminded us of a hotel in Vienna! Service was superb

Review 109：The Capsis Astoria is supposed to be a 4star hotel, but it is not effectively. Room is smaller and the bed is smaller. If you do not mind, like us, accept the dinner for compensation. Otherwise, ask to be reallocate in an other 5star hotel.

Review 131：The harbour sea view, would have been good if I had not been 5ft nothing to see due to the concrete front..Same for the coffee machine in the room, it was on a high shelf. It did however cure me of wanting one of those new fancy machines..not worth the trouble.Thought the foyer was very unwelcoming and cold. Oh and I must mention the baby scan photographs in the rooms and corridors. Were probably very expensive but totally unimpressive.
