Reviews for Hotel Nuraghe Arvu

Review 1:I didn´t think the dinner was that tasty, but that´s maybe just my taste buds.

Review 2:The service, the cleanliness, and the first big hotel room since I stayed in Italy. It also had a refrigerator.

Review 3:The choice at breakfast buffet could be better (vegetables, more than one kind of cheese...)

Review 4:Friendly and competent staff, very big pool, free car parking, about 500m to the habor and restaurants, wifi is working in the whole area - all in all a recommendable, nice location

Review 5:Except the soft bed, which is very subjective opinion, this hotel should get 8 out of 5 stars. Location excellent, calm, clean, super breakfast, nice staff, flexible to our arrival. After experience with Parco Blue last year, this was oasis of peace and relax.

Review 6:There is very little I didn't like but I suppose I could suggest a slightly more varied lunch menu. It was the same every day which was slightly disappointing but manageable.

Review 7:We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very warm, especially Teresa in the dining room, always happy to please! Francesca and Ilaria too on the front desk! Despite suggestions from reviews to hire a car, the hotel transfer and taxi facilities were perfect and cost effective too. We would certainly return here again!

Review 8:The hotel lacks some details of a 4 star resort (bathroom amenities, music at the pool) Prices during holiday season do not correspond with the quality you get.

Review 9:Nice pool, friendly staff. Good location to take day trips in the region.

Review 10:The Wifi only works in the reception area!!! If your're luckey it works by the pool. How can a teenage family survive in such conditions?

Review 11:Great pool, nice food, cosy style, and they walked the extra mile to provide glutenfree bread for the allergic person. All in all fantastic.

Review 12:Nothing really it was a nice place. Perhaps WiFi in the rooms but this is picky as after all we are on holiday.

Review 13:Very nice clean complex with very friendly staff

Review 14:since we were already here 2 years ago, we miss a la carte lunch, which was available before. The lunch menu should be improved.

Review 15:location of pool in middle of residence, next to restaurant. All is at place, predictable. Excellent choice of wines - local wine producer. Fair prices of wine.

Review 16:Would like the opportunity to pay for extras as you go instead of having to put everything on a tab

Review 17:Location, facilities, pool, fantastic staff they were more than helpful.

Review 18:Wifi didn't work well in rooms; best reception is in the lobby.

Review 19:Large, clean room with ocean view terrace. Front desk very helpful with booking excursions. Nice pool. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 20:The wifi didn't reach the rooms so if you wanted to use the internet, you had to go to the lobby, and even there it was very slow.

Review 21:Great staff! Very helpful! Great pool! Great shuttle service.

Review 22:Room not soundproof (you can hear the people above you in the small house) Expensive for Sardinia

Review 23:Great location to visit the Golfo de Orosei, excellent swimming pool, delicious breakfast with plenty of choice, good bed

Review 24:Every room in the hotel has a wonderful view. The staff are incredibly helpful especially the front desk and can help with information on travel and the what to do in the local area

Review 25:Swimming pool limited usage Too expensive for what you get Fried eggs for breakfast charged extra !!!! Without telling us they would charge them and how much. Mini bar refill that was said to be free was charged as well. Approach of personnel and owners was strange.

Review 26:Clean room and nice pool.

Review 27:Lunch good quality but breakfast poor, choice limited (not unique in Sardinia) and many items not replenished after 9am. I would have expected dairy and meat items to be chilled - left at room temp from 8-10am in a warm climate is not safe. Hotel and facilities not cheap - free towel hire and complimentary bottled water in room would have been appreciated.

Review 28:Beautifully designed hotel, pool area fantastic and relaxing with plenty of loungers, staff very friendly and helpful. Free parking. Shuttle bus to town. Hotel wheelchair friendly.

Review 29:Evening diner to expensive from my point of view but you do not need to take it if you do not want.

Review 30:Breakfast, place, people at the reception, swimming pool, bedroom, easy to found.

Review 31:Hotel Nuraghe Arvu is one of the best hotel experience I have had in a long time. The traditional Sardinian food was amazing, especially with the hotel home made cannonau wine. The room decor superb with a great view. The staff was very friendly and helpful , they spoke very good English. I'll defenitely recommend this hotel for someone that loves " rustic meets luxury" .

Review 32:The Cala Gonone beach, whilst indeed not far away, is average, and not ideally suited for small children (pebbles). This is not a problem as there are some great sandy beaches nearby, Cartoe and Osalla, however these can only be reached by car. We also sometimes used a newly established tuk-tuk taxi service.

Review 33:Everything - Nuraghe Arvu is a charming, relaxing place with welcoming and efficient staff who would do everything to accommodate our and especially the kids' every need. We also enjoyed the swimming pool - it was never too busy and the hotel even provided for toys. The rooms were basic but well styled and serviced; music from the neighbouring hotels could only be heard outside. Cala Gonone itself is a sweet and (certainly during the summer months) busy little holiday town with many cafes, restaurants and shops that can well be explored on foot.

Review 34:There can at times be an overspill of noise from the nearby Cala Gonone Place hotel, but it never bothered us and we quiet enjoyed the italian take on a few Bob Marley's numbers!

Review 35:The hotel is very comfortable, clean and quite. Breakfast was very good and the staff were polite and friendly with English widely spoken. We eat in the hotel restaurant three times, with two excellent meals and one not quite hitting the previous standards … it was ok, but must have been chef's night off. The pool is fabulous as are the local beaches, our favourite being Cala Cartoe, although it's quiet an interesting drive to get there via the mountain road. Hire a speedboat for the day is a top recommendation.

Review 36:Minor things like supplies replenishment for bathroom, limited activity without a car.

Review 37:Great swimming pool with sunbeds available at all time, good breakfast buffet replenished until the end and with out having to wait for an outside table. Car parking available at all time.

Review 38:This was not the first time my wife and I stayed at Nuraghe Arvu and once again we have had an amazing experience. The staff were friendly and professional. The swimming pool and gardens are kept pristine and the rooms are very comfortable. The traditional restaurant is also worth mentioning. I will gladly recommend this hotel to anyone, I will definitely return.

Review 39:The hotel suffered from noise from a "Village resort" next door - which pumped out noise from 2200 to after midnight every day until asked to stop. Without this, the evenings there would have been perfect.

Review 40:Excellent location, nicely designed hotel in spaceous surroundings. Helpful staff, really nice food.

Review 41:Fairly pricey hotel given facilities offered

Review 42:Clean rooms and decent bathroom. Terraces outside rooms pleasant for a drink in the evening. Nice pool area. Convenient location approx. 15 min walk from centre where there is plenty of choice for bars/restaurants. Would recommend/stay again.

Review 43:Beautiful location and buildings

Review 44:La piscina

Review 45:No complaints, everything was perfect!

Review 46:Beautiful hotel, perfect for relax and enjoyment. Charming staff. Highly recommendable.

Review 47:Staff very friendly Food good Pool excellent Nice room

Review 48:Average service. Average standard of room for the price we payed.

Review 49:Nice pool area

Review 50:The hotel next door is very very noisy.

Review 51:Pleasant staff and not too busy around the pool.

Review 52:The bed wasn't the most comfortable

Review 53:Great staff Nice pool area and landscaping Short walk into town Regular shuttle bus

Review 54:Quality of breakfasts poor at times

Review 55:Staff great and very helpful

Review 56:No window in the room. Breakfast is OK, but better change a little each day.

Review 57:No free shuttle bus to town .. Expensive overall.

Review 58:Excellent pool especially the kids bit. Excellent breakfast.

Review 59:Didn't like the town

Review 60:Enjoyed our 4 days here the room was well presented and the staff very helpful and caring

Review 61:Noisy aircon. You need to bring earplugs. And terrible hard pillows.

Review 62:Nice pool area. Great steak dinner in the restaurant.

Review 63:The hotel is beautifully decorated, I loved the swimming pool and the food was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful , we will definitely recommend this hotel.

Review 64:We truly enjoyed my stay at this lovely place. After a previous experience with a rented car, I was very pleased that this hotel had their own secure private parking. The food was very good in the restaurant. It is a traditional Sardinian menu and overlooks the swimming pool area. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pool and the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from the beach. The fact that they had free Wi-Fi available in the rooms as well as in the reception area really helped out as I am not too keen on registering my card details in a foreign country. Great place to relax for the whole family as well as not badly priced for what you get.

Review 65:The efficiency and professionalism of the staff that dealt with our reservation was amazing. The hotel has a traditional Sardinian Restaurant that still makes my mouth water just thinking back to our holiday. We have been there only for two days (1 night), the architecture and comfort of this hotel is next to none and I will definitely return next summer (definitely staying longer). PS. Great swimming pool, good for kids as well as for adults.

Review 66:The ONLY negative would be that the resort next door has quite loud music but this cannot be heard in your room.

Review 67:Loved the fact the resort was extremely well tended to and the rooms were more like apartments (without the kitchen). Pool was very clean and continental breakfast was more than filling. Staff spoke v good English and were very accommodating especially as we did not arrive until 1am and had not called to warn them about our late arrival. Rooms very clean without an individual outside space to sit and enjoy a book as well as a clothes dryer for ur swimwear.

Review 68:We had another wonderful stay at this resort, our third time here. We enjoyed the beatiful breakfast area, the hospitality of the owner at the wonderful and helpful staff.

Review 69:The ideology of this hotel greed. The hotel is absolutely no comfort. Breakfast is rotten fruit, stale products, edible drinks. Pool shallow. Water attractions in the pool are only 15 minutes a day. You must go to the reception for fresh towels, shampoo after cleaning the room. During the day by the pool there are practically no people. This is because it is uncomfortable to be. Towels for the beach and Shuttle service to the beach surcharge. I do not think that at that things can change, only in case of change of the owner of the hotel.

Review 70:The room was good.

Review 71:The hotel is located 5mins drive from a very small crowded beach &scruffy modern ugly town with hardly any parking - Cala Gonone hasseveral very large campsites and has a young (16-25 yrs mostly) lowerclass vibe and they tended to be mostly Italians on their holidays. Iwould not recommend to other young families but it might suit youngcouples. The family room was much smaller than other family rooms wehave stayed in and apparently the rooms are all the same size. So therewas very little privacy and the bathroom was tiny and badly laid out.To go on an expedition anywhere other than Cala Gonone you have to goup very treacherous narrow mountain road which means it takes about20mins go a very short distance and long car journeys with car sicknessfor the children anytime we wanted to get out of the area. There aretwo utterly horrendous resorts neighboring the hotel, which often usemicrophones and loud speakers to amplify truly awful music andshouting, but we did not hear them at night all our windows and doorswere tightly shut. The hotel is also over looked by apartment blocks. The pool is a very average size for a resort but not too busy in thedaytime. The hotel is overpriced for what it is and the shuttle serviceto the town should be free.

Review 72:Very clean, comfy beds, accomodating staff, food was generally good. The best bit was the coast line - as far away from the hotel & CalaGonone as poss. So we ended up packing a picnic from the localsupermarket and hiring boat at 170 Euros a day and exploring beachesand coastline - offshore is utterly beautiful and the beaches aredivine but busy - this added on an extra 1000 euros+ to the holiday ifwe had not done this our holiday would have been a miserable disaster. The restaurant at the hotel was good , food prices were fine, and itwas peaceful-ish compared to the neon, booming uglyness of the town.Loved the Humming birds gathering necter in the immaculate flower bedsin the evening.

Review 73:We did not particularly like the restaurant. Service, food and atmosphere are nothing special. There are many restaurants in Cala Gonone which are much nicer. We apparently had one of the cheaper rooms (a quadruple family room), and our furniture outside on the terrace was made of plastic. Looks ugly and not in sinc with the overall appearance of the hotel. Other rooms had much nicer furniture. It doesn't feel good that there is such apparent difference. Our terrace looked out on the parking lot. There is a lot of loud music and noise in the (late) evening, made by the campings en hotels next door.

Review 74:The swimming pool is really the best asset of this hotel. It's a large pool and very clean.

Review 75:Prices in the bar could be not cheaper.

Review 76:The hotel is situated not in the centre of the village, but in very close walking distance from anything. Hotel room in the second floor with the balcony is very good. The pool ir pretty big and not noisy.

Review 77:Be careful with this hotel because you can be changed to other room in the middle of your stay. In this hotel the new clients are more important than the clients ending their stay. Besides, the room change us with pressure and hurry and very late in the evening (11:45pm).

Review 78:Very little to report. Breakfast could be better. We did not dine in the hotel.

Review 79:Great staff, kind and professional. The excursion arranged via the reception was superb. Excellent room (suite).

Review 80:very good restaurant with friendly service. Room was spacious. Clean and simple design with love for detail. Set up like a small village which gives a nice atmosphere

Review 81:Should have better coffee, Italian expresso!

Review 82:Nice ambient, relaxing atmosphere, excellent place to cool down. Cousy place to stay with family. Worthwile to repeat.

Review 83:small shower, would have got stuck there after a few more days with this sumptuous food

Review 84:great setting with large pool, well manicured gardens, rooms nicely appointed, delicious traditional food (fish and panchetta).

Review 85:Room was comfortable but dark looking. TV channels were very limited. Wifi not accessible in room, only in main lobby.

Review 86:Great pool area, clean and spacious. Breakfast offered a good variety of food which was very good, Staff was friendly.

Review 87:Nothing

Review 88:Very pleasure hotel, we wrote about honeymoontravel and they did the apgrade the room and bootle of spoomante like a compliment. Very good staff, location, everything was perfect. Thank u very much.

Review 89:Room was rather small, although normally not much time will be spend there.

Review 90:Pleasant resort with large swimming pool and good restaurant close to beach and town centre.

Review 91:The hotel is beautiful, with lovely communal areas and great attention has been paid to detail throughout. The staff couldn't do enough for us. We were welcomed upon arrival and shown around the hotel. Our room was spacious and the beds very comfortable. Towels were changed daily and everywhere was spotless. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice and some variations each day. The garden and pool area are most attractive and there are plenty of sun loungers and deck chairs available. When we went to local beaches, we were able to borrow parasols and beach chairs free of charge. The receptionists were very helpful in advising about trips and in booking boat trips for us. Overall, it is an excellent hotel, which we will certainly visit again.

Review 92:Nothing that we didn't like.

Review 93:The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and with a nice view on the pool. Perfect place for a family holiday; pool, restaurant and rooms are situated close to each other. The countryside is stunning!

Review 94:Friendly staff, nice pool, good breakfast. When I booked the room I took the non-changeable rate i.e. cheaper but without cancellation possibility. On the next day I realized that I had made a mistake. With the help of the booking.com staff hotel agreed to change my reservation without additional charge.

Review 95:One guy from the staff

Review 96:The pool and architecture of the hotel

Review 97:Slightly far from the beach

Review 98:Lovely pool and veranda

Review 99:No WiFi in rooms

Review 100:Restaurant, comfortable rooms, free parking, friendly staff, localization
