Reviews for Muskerry Arms
Review 1:car park at back v small!! You have to check in at the bar!(not very comfortable!!).
Review 2:The room was very comfortable and clean, and quiet too, it was midweek when i stayed! Breakfast was lovely and staff were very nice and friendly. Lots of space to relax upstairs if you needed to. Great value for money and in the middle of town with a couple of nice restaurants nearby, they serve bar food too, but not great food!!
Review 3:- Not a big choice for the breakfast, even though the few available choices are pretty good - Admittance to the hotel through the bar...not really convenient and discrete with huge luggages
Review 4:- Bar on ground floor and no noise when inside the room (2nd floor) while a concert is going on - An entertainment almost every night at the bar after dinner - Quite nice and comfortable room
Review 5:This hotel is just above the bar. We didn't sleep till 3 am!! Very loud! Live music till 1.30 am, then drunk people shouting. Do not book if you are hoping to have a good night sleep!
Review 6:new years eve and crowds outside front door, we could hear crowd on the street at 2am. We only arrived back at that time and they eventually dispersed. Bathroom needs updating. Young persons bar and it was full of rough people
Review 7:Rooms identical to pictures and rooms spotless. Impressed for value. Great breakfast included
Review 8:The pictures of the hotel matched up with what you got. Had a lovely weekend and was a stone throw away from Blarney castle and Blarney woollen mill is a must visit.
Review 9:The only heating in the room was an electric heater and the window wouldn't close however there was a screen on the inside of the sash windows.
Review 10:The location.
Review 11:Room right above the band which didnt stop until gone midnight. Had toget up for work early so missed my breakfast..when I spoke to the helpabout this problem I was told he would try to reduce the cost of my staybut he didnt..On my morning of departure, I couldnt find anyone to checkout except the chef who was making breakfast for another guest who hadto leave early,WHY was I not offered this.
Review 12:Friendly atmosphere, good food at reasonable price, good size warm comfortable room, well positioned (and numerous) power points in room fo recharging phones and tablets, breakfast included in price
Review 13:our room was at the front ,the traffic was going until 2 a/should have requested a room at the back
Review 14:the location .the food in the bar, staff friendly
Review 15:The cigarette smoke drifted up into one of bedrooms from street below
Review 16:Location on village square traditional Irish pub and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. A great introduction to Ireland
Review 17:The main Entrance it s just entrance in the pub...yes because ground floor is located the pub and upstairs the rooms.
Review 18:Well connected to Cork and just few steps from the castle.
Review 19:The mattress in #9 is tired and hard. Even with that being said, I would stay again.
Review 20:Location, food and staff made for a great stay. Overall a very laid back accommodating place to stay. Would like to recognize Brian for his assistance.
Review 21:Me and my friend stayed for 3 nights we both found Friendly, attentive staff; great food and very good value; room very comfortable; smart and clean. Nothing negative to report
Review 22:I wasn't given instructions on breakfast (ie.,where and when). Information seemed to be difficult to attain. Our room became extremely cold overnight and when I asked the lady manager about it the next morning, her response was "The family that was in there last week said that it was too hot".no assistance from her.
Review 23:The room was nicely done and suitable for space for my son and I.
Review 24:Beds are not that comfortable so that needs to be looked at
Review 25:I enjoyed every thing about my stay. Staff there are friendly and extremely helpful and make you feel like family.
Review 26:There was a little weird smell in the corridor, but the room was perfect
Review 27:The location is great, about 5 minutes walk from the Blarney Castle, the staff was very friendly and helpful
Review 28:Although the room was spotless and beautifully furnished ohh my god you could hear everything in the next room and unfortunately forus we had neughbours from hell next door. From arriving in noisily at 2:30 in morning to their arguing and everything else..was 6am before we got any sleep
Review 29:The staff were fantastic it was a busy Sunday afternoon when we arrived and service and friendless top class. Food was excellent.
Review 30:Bathroom needed refurbishing. Water had got behind the mirror and sink unit causing unsightly stains.
Review 31:The Muskerry Arms is within a few minutes walk from Blarney Castle.
Review 32:The flexibilty of the Muskerry Arms was great. We informed that we would be arriving late and there were no problems. The location in Blarney was great. There was live music in the pub downstairs. We really like that the Muskerry Arms had an accurate presentation for themselve on the Internet - as in the lovely rooms that we saw on booking.com was actually what we stayed in. We would recommend this as a place to stay.
Review 33:A little noisy - it was a Saturday night with Rugby on and a live band so to be expected but there was noise from adjoining & above rooms which should not be expected.
Review 34:Pub atmosphere was good & Blarney a great place to visit
Review 35:The building is very large and a bit of a maze with lots of ways to get upstairs/downstairs. Some signage upstairs would help. Our ensuite was tiny but we managed ☺
Review 36:Great pub atmosphere and friendly and welcoming staff. Large venue so room for everyone. Seems popular with locals as well as tourists which we liked. The perfect place to switch off and relax and enjoy the craic which is what we wanted.
Review 37:Our sink in the room was quite lose and I thought it would fall free from the unit
Review 38:STAFF EXCELLENT AND VERY helpful. Food really good in the bar, music was excellent
Review 39:upstairs rooms were a little dark as window was small. This could easily have been fixed as there was a skylight but the blind was closed. Just need to leave a shutter stick in the room so patrons can choose to leave the blind open or not.
Review 40:Absolutely nothing, everything was great!
Review 41:The staff was great! Great location to the Blarney Castle. The bed was a little more firm than I'm used to but not bad. The food and service at the restaurant was wondeful! The breakfast was good. They were out of scones so they offered me a small apple pie instead since I don't like eggs. The bar is right under the rooms but we were in the bar until it closed so I don't known it filtered up to the rooms, plus we were on the second floor of rooms. Definitely worth the money! If we ever make back to Blarney, we absolutely will stay there again!
Review 42:I honestly can't think of anything that I did not like about my stay.
Review 43:The location is amazing. Not only is it close to Blarney Castle and the Woolen Mills, but a bus stop is right outside so it is very easy to hop on a bus to Cork. I can't say enough about how great the staff are. Check-in was a breeze and Veronica was able to alter my booking.com booking after plans changed and I ended up staying solo. I was especially appreciative that Jerome personally gave me a ride to the Cork Bus Station since he was on his way into the city and since it was raining heavily. All of the wait and bar staff are amazing as well. Seriously, these are some of the best people overall that I have ever met. The room was beautiful. I stayed here around 3 years ago and I think they've done some recent upgrading. Very spacious with stylish furnishings. The pub downstairs is wonderful as well. You're sure to meet some nice locals if you stay here and decide to stop in.
Review 44:- To get in to the hotel, you must first walk through an enclosed smoking area. As two non-smokers, this was extremely frustrating. - Then, you have to walk through a loud, cramped bar to get to the hotel section. This is worsened if you're carrying any luggage. - The room was not very clean, and the light in the bathroom did not work. They fixed this after we reported it. - The restaurant was not open due to a private booking for a christening. We were not advised of this until we were ready for dinner. - The wooden frame on the bed sticks out about six inches past the mattress and it is easy to snag your clothing off this. - The noise! Sweet Jesus, the noise! We were on the second floor and the noise from the band (I use the term band loosely) coming from the bar was unbelievably loud. The music (again, I use the term music loosely) was played until after 1:30am. The noise from people outside went on until after 4am. Don't expect a decent sleep. - The breakfast was mediocre at best. The egg was undercooked. - Finally, the staff were completely obnoxious when we brought these issues to their attention. This place should not advertise itself as a hotel, as it is a glorified hostel, at best!
Review 45:Location... that's about it.
Review 46:The beds weren't great.
Review 47:The Muskerry Arms was very clean, the rooms were spacious and well decorated and the bathrooms had everything you needed. The staff in the bar and breakfast room went out of their way to ensure you had everything you needed. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The Arms is in a great location, literally a stones throw from Blarney Castle and the Woollen Mill.
Review 48:Only thing I can think of is a few more hangers required in wardrobe of twin bedroom but that's actually all I can think of!
Review 49:Location, staff, bedrooms and entertainment were just great! Everything under one roof in the perfect setting!
Review 50:Everything from the warm welcome by the host, the room was quaint and quirky just as we had imagined. The parking was excellent and the food good value. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 51:Noisy rooms, bed was not too good.
Review 52:The staff was very friendly and helpful, the residents room a good place to take a rest in the evening. The bar and tavern restaurant is simply 1+
Review 53:This is a very noisy hotel. The property has a bar with loud live music until late in the evening. Plus we could hear the conversations in the room next to us, due to the very thin walls. Breakfast service was unfriendly
Review 54:Nice clean room Great location
Review 55:Gary was very helpful. He made me feel very welcome Told me about thedinner and breakfast offered at the hotel. Dinner was superb and Irishmusic was included. Breakfast was delicious and included in the roomrate. Great, great, great. Thanks for everything.
Review 56:This was a fabulous place to stay, the staff were friendly, the food was great, the location was perfect for the city just a bus journey away, every night there was entertainment in the bar and the room was spacious and comfortable
Review 57:Nothing to dislike.
Review 58:I loved everything about this place. As soon as we arrived we felt like we had found a great place. Our room was beautiful, the food and service excellent and the bar had live music and agreat cro with brill atmosphere.
Review 59:The bed could have been more comfortable.
Review 60:The location was excellent! Staff friendly. Cute diningroom provided for eating. Breakfast was great and the only waitress there was friendly and helpful! We were on the 2nd floor so we heard no noise from the pub downstairs. Music in the restraunt at night was fantastic.
Review 61:Uncomfortable bed and 35 minutes of yelling and screaming domestic dispute in the street below our window at 2 am. No parking even in Dedicated car park. Wifi was awful as well.
Review 62:The keys for the room needed a bit of patience to use
Review 63:The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble especially in the restaurant in the pub.
Review 64:Great location, Great staff especially Gary. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast available until 11am.Lovely brown bread decent pot of tea and a good selection..What more does a person want Oh yes its over a very lively bar with good music & Free Wi Fi
Review 65:The music is very late and there was a lot of noise one night at end of business but that is to be expected.
Review 66:Great place to stay, accommodation is lovely, staff are very friendly and food is fantastic.
Review 67:There is no lift so travel light, we were on the second floor
Review 68:Great sized room with views over the local green. Parking provided in Arms car park. Enjoyable breakfast. Dinner in popular Arms lovely Irish pub. Can be noisy at the end of the night, did not concern us. Easy Walking distance to Blarney Castle and Woollen Mills.
Review 69:Nothing.
Review 70:The room was a real surprise, spacious, comfortable and lovely decor. Staff friendly, meals were lovely and entertainment was provided. If I ever came back to Blarney again I'd definitely stay here.
Review 71:Room was a tad hot but the fan in room helped a lot.
Review 72:Fabulous bar and party area. Room was lovely very spacious with everything we needed. Would definely come back. right in the heart of everything.
Review 73:Nothing!
Review 74:The staff were excellent (especially Sandra), so attentive and helpful. They were quite busy but despite that service and attention was immediate. Amazing room overlooking the square, very modern stylish décor and extremely clean. Can't praise highly enough. Thank you I'll definitely be back soon
Review 75:The building is quite old so the bed or floorboards below it periodically squeaked and the walls weren't entirely soundproof (we could hear a child crying next door)
Review 76:· Kind staff, flexible about check in time (we arrived very late) · Competitively priced · Fantastic food, one of the best Irish breakfasts I've had · Comfy bed
Review 77:Nothing
Review 78:I would definitely back, clean and comfort. There is everything in the bedroom, hair dryer, iron, toiletries even a coffee and tea bags. And the breakfast is just all I would like to eat in Ireland, a full Irish breakfast
Review 79:Only gripe was the heat. The room was very warm and we had to sleep with windows open.
Review 80:Rooms were excellent and the food was fantastic all served up with a smile. Great bar with all the delights of a real Irish pub.
Review 81:The food was amazing! Room was clean and spacious. The people went over the top to make us feel welcome throughout our whole stay. Loved Sean the bartender!
Review 82:No elevator, but it is like an inn, so not expected... entrance through the bar, but this is more pitoresque
Review 83:Nice countryside location, 3 minutes walk to Blarney castle, big room, comfortable
Review 84:Very noisy could hear all the music upstairs and people moving around upand down halls and passage ways .Mattress way to soft for wheelchairusers for safe transfer and no drop down rail beside toilet
Review 85:Lovely rooms , decor , wheelchair accessible via side entrance ,Greatmusic , great food
Review 86:Loved interior of the rooms, very cosy, classy, warm, comfortable. Amazing food! Irish Bfst, Stew and tomato & basil soup nom nom nom :) very close to a Blarney Castle just a 2 mins walk. Convenient for a trips to Cork we have ordered a taxi and paid €15 one way. Staff very nice and helpful, pub itself very nice equipped! Busy place - not surprised as its excellent for a stay!
Review 87:The people at Muskerry Arms make this the place to stay. Their friendly, pleasant manner made me feel at home from the moment I walked in the front door. I had a charming twin room that was roomy, clean with a very comfortable bed. The Pub food was delicious! It's obvious the Muskerry Arms is a local favorite by the number of people there. If I lived in or around Blarney I would be a regular at Muskerry Arms! The location is walking distance to Blarney Castle and local shopping which can't be beat.
Review 88:Bathrooms need modernisation to match the standard of the bedrooms. However, they are perfectly fine for the price.
Review 89:Central location, across the square from the castle. Very clean rooms. Good breakfast.
Review 90:Slight drains odour coming from bathroom. Once I kept the bathroom door shut it was not an issue.
Review 91:Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, clean, atmosphere of bar all good.
Review 92:The accommodation is above a popular pub with live music nights which finish late. If you enjoy a lively night in a very good pub, this is for you. If you like a quiet night, ensure that you request a second floor room. The staff are very obliging if you wish to move rooms.
Review 93:The accommodation, breakfasts and staff were very good. The location is perfect for Blarney Castle and the attractive village of Blarney which is only a short drive to Cork. I would happily return.
Review 94:Great welcome, totally friendly. All modern fixtures and fittings in the accommodation all like new ,staff professional and friendly, understands customers needs, a refreshing change from many other places I have stayed, a big well done and keep up the great work ! I would loved to have stayed to explore the area, looks like a hidden gem, will definitely come back to do so.

Review 101:Very noisy at night as the bar is below.
Review 102:The location is good. Right in the centre of Blarney. -Very convenient for weddings or events in Blarney Woolen mills hotel, it's right across the road. Breakfast was nice
Review 103:It really doesn't get much better than this, relaxed, friendly, great food, even on your own it won't be long before you're chatting with the locals, real Irish hospitality.
Review 104:The bedroom > looked < nice , BUT on The COLDEST SNOWY NIGHT of THE YEAR , A FIRE DOOR was Wedged FULLY OPEN OUTSIDE MY BEDROOM , the bedroom Became FREEZING COLD , WHICH Caused me to CATCH INFLUENZA ! I Politely Spoke with The OWNER And did so after a Number of Unwelcome other Matters made it necessary . I had given the benefit of the doubt in all matters. It appears an Element of Discrimination gave staff an attitude of providing less than normal service. I believe the staff are in Urgent Need of Education on Accessibility Matters. This Poor Staff attitude , has Damaged significantly my first impression of the accommodation. Which , if it had a more efficient heating system , and , improved Windows I would recommend Scandinavin Triple Glazing Windows with Sound proofing to block out the early morning noise from truck delivers. The accommodation , if its Owners invested in the above , could be good. Or very good. However , with the bad staff attitude , Very COLD , and Noisy Accommodation , are letting People suffer lack of Sleep , Damage to Guests Health , and a Bad Memory!
Review 105:The bedroom > looked < nice , BUT on The COLDEST SNOWY NIGHT of THE YEAR , A FIRE DOOR was Wedged FULLY OPEN OUTSIDE MY BEDROOM , the bedroom Became FREEZING COLD , WHICH Caused me to CATCH INFLUENZA !
Review 106:A Fire Door was wedged OPEN during the Snow Stormy Weather , RESULTING in my bedroom becoming FREEZING , on my First Night of my stay , which RESULTED in my Catching a Serious Influenza . I REPORTED this to The Owner , and , he promised to deal with Matters , including the Matters of Sloppy room servicing. However , again this morning Saturday , I returned to my bedroom , And again to find the same Sloppy room servicing. This stay has resulted in my Catching Influenza , And , the Need to go to a Doctor , get Heavy Antibiotics , And has SPOLIT my visit to this Area. It appears an element of Disrespect originates from staff towards myself . This Trip has cost several hundred Euro , and , a Serious Influenza infection . When , I spoke with the Owner the other day , I had endeavoured to Resolve Matters Amicably . And , I had placed Reliance on Our Conversation. It appears , I should have instead complained to Booking.com , which I have now done .
Review 107:Initially , the first impression of the bedroom. However , Matters were NOT as appeared. There is an Urgent Need for Staff Training , on straightforward Matters such as Room Servicing. The cleaning staff , while I have stayed , have sloppy habits of just pulling up the bed clothes without properly making the bed. This is unacceptable , and , if I had not caught influenza as a result of a Fire Door having been left OPEN for several hours , then I would have not extended my stay.
Review 108:Loved being able to walk downstairs to the pub for drinks, food. Room was nice, staff very friendly. Breakfast was great. Irish music at night was good. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Review 109:bathroom was only disappointment, lots of crevices which are hard to clean.
Review 110:made feel very welcome. given all necessay information on arrival re: bar food (pm), breakfast etc
Review 111:This place really works for me. The staff are excellent and went out of their way to help me. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The food was excellent. There was a good selection of drinks and a great atmosphere in the bar. Everything at a reasonable price.
Review 112:Laminate flooring, you could really hear the other guests walking about.
Review 113:Good pub with a great atmosphere and nice food. Room was spacious and clean. A lovely village location with easy access to the city or a good base for exploring Cork and other surrounding counties. 2 minutes walk from Blarney Castle and grounds. Good value for money.
Review 114:Just a sweet stroll from Blarney Castle, quiet. Good meal in privacy. Nice staff took care of our needs. Very pleasant. So high from Blarney experience was just nice to rest until moved on next day. Glad to not be in Cork!
Review 115:Room was very cold and I couldn't find any heating controls anywhere!
Review 116:Great rooms, Great location, Close to Cork City where we had to travel to and from, Walking distance to Blarney Castle, Off street parking, Great breakfast choice
Review 117:It was a little loud come early morning.
Review 118:Great location! Excellent place to stay right across from blarney castle, the staff are excellent and helpful, breakfast each morning included ;-) also only 15 mins into city by bus.
Review 119:We spent the evening in Cork city and arrived back at approx 1am,the guy behind the bar who we needed to get our room key from had a bit of an attitude.
Review 120:There was a helpful and welcoming attitude when we arrived. We really liked our room, very clean and tidy. Breakfast service was excellent and very efficient.
Review 121:WIFI was not working at all, we were travelling around so needed to book hotels, had to go to another hotel down the road to do this. On booking site it says Music every night, this is only in season not October. This should be noted.
Review 122:Good Location & Parking Breakfast good Rooms are ok but walls are thin so can hear next door.
Review 123:There was terrible noise in the rooms above us, there is no sound proof between the floor, all of us felt that it let the place down as the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Review 124:It was an adequate good place to stay
Review 125:The front rooms of the guest house was facing onto a busy street so it was quite noisy at night and first thing in the morning due to loud music and delivery trucks. The room I was in had a skylight, so every time it rained it tapped loudly on the window, making it very hard to sleep. The bar food was very poor quality, I wouldn't recommend it.
Review 126:It was good value for money for a solo traveler. The room was bright and spacious with good WiFi and a powerful shower.
Review 127:On arrival we were welcomed warmly and had a really nice meal in the bar the staff were very efficient and helpful nothing was too much trouble, the bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable. Location is lovely in the heart of the village. Great for a weekend break or as part of a touring stay.
