Reviews for Woodbyne Cottages
Review 1:Not the cleanest. Dusty, windows unclean and inside the kettle was completely brown when it should have been white.
Review 2:Very spacious accommodation. Quite a handy location.
Review 3:The unit was not really clean. It could do with a really good clean from ceiling to floor. Maintenance is becoming an issue with doors dragging when opening or closing. Everything just lacked TLC and can only get worse if not addressed soon. The grouting around the bath was mouldy, needs mould cleaner or bleach.
Review 4:The size of the unit was good - room to move. Kitchen facilities adequate and a washing machine was good. Bed was comfortable and linen clean.
Review 5:It was great but it could have been a little cleaner ie the fridge
Review 6:The lady at reception was lovely and very helpful. The cottage was better than I thought it would be.
Review 7:We spent a lot of our money on this accommodation but didn't get great use of facilities. Children's outdoor play area was so wet they couldn't use it and Renovations of the restaurant/indoor play room meant we couldn't use them either. Previously we have stayed here and that is why we chose to come back again but without these facilities it wasn't worth it.
Review 8:Position to town was great.
Review 9:the cottage was very dirty.bed was terrible.rubbish from other guests was left piled at back door of our cottage.grounds are very run down.bbq was filthy and whole bbq area dirty.hard to find property in the dark due to lack of lighting/signage.
Review 10:very peaceful and quiet.great sized cottage.
Review 11:The only shortfall was the kitchen and laundry were lacking some basic necessaries, however new management had only taken over the day before.
Review 12:Great location and value for money given it was the World Superbike weekend and difficult to get both. There was plenty of space in rooms and living area, lots of space around the cabins. The management were very welcoming and helpful.
Review 13:Loved the open spaces for the kids to play in, playground area and grassed area out the back of our accomodation. Dinner at the "dinosaur" resteraunt was great too. Will be staying here again when we visit Phillip Island next time!
Review 14:Probably need to asphalt around reception as when wet it gets a bit muddy
Review 15:Location for car racing Staff friendly approach Comfort compared to hotel room or flat
Review 16:Although the weather didn't allow us to use these facilities, the pool, bbq area and playground looked like it needed some freshening up.
Review 17:The cottage was clean, new with plenty of space. The eatery, indoor playground and bar were also a nice added touch.
Review 18:We were very happy with the spacious surroundings - great for everyone in the family to relax and have their own space. Everything was in good condition and staff were pleasant and happy to assist when required.
Review 19:Double bed mattress in cottage was extremely hard. Playground had no maintenance and was falling apart. Mosquitos attracted to dampness of grass at back of cottages. Kids got bitten during the night in bed.
Review 20:Close to town. Clean, pleasant cottage facilities, met our needs as a family. Friendly staff whenever ran into them.
Review 21:I like the whole place, but it does have a few things that I believe some nice trees and mulch would fix in an instant to refresh some garden beds, especially around the base of the units themselves, The pool is great for older kids, an added splash pad and wading pool would be an excellent addition so you can have a relaxing area for kiddies and parents. Some air conditioner renewal needs to be done.
Review 22:Very well situated, close to town yet far enough out with open paddocks all around to give you a peaceful country atmosphere ! There are miniture pony's, cattle and lots of birdlife for the kids to look at !
Review 23:Pool was green and not usable. Shower had mild. Living areas were run down.
Review 24:Beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night so we slept well
Review 25:no soap
Review 26:Great Locations and all the facilities you need for a self contained unit.
Review 27:Grounds here are nothing special.
Review 28:Had 2 bedroom place here. Amazing place. Like small home, big lounge and kitchen area. Really impressive house.
Review 29:GOOD LOCATION. QUIET. WELL APPOINTED. VERY CLEAN.
Review 30:Cold pool, cobwebs and dust that I found in bathroom/shower window which I cleaned upon arrival.,,
Review 31:Perhaps better signage on the street to indicate the cottages are there
Review 32:Location, comfort of accomodation
Review 33:Courtesy call prior to arrival. Staff friendliness. Relaxing, modern accommodation. Pool and playground.
Review 34:Not long enough
Review 35:So close to Phillip Island yet far enough away to avoid the busyness
Review 36:All of it
Review 37:It was quiet and relaxing. Am planning a extended family holiday here.
Review 38:Nothing Specific
Review 39:Quiet, Clean and friendly staff
Review 40:Petty but take your own pillows for comfort.
Review 41:Quiet place with good amenities for young kids.
Review 42:Spacious accomodation with everything you might need.
Review 43:The pool area and bbq needed a bit more care. Leaves in the pool area and an ugly bug on the bbq. Cobwebs and debris in these areas. Felt it was the end of season and maybe maintenance had been let slide.
Review 44:We liked the open plan aspect of the cottage. The cottage was so clean and we felt very at home.
Review 45:The walls inside the cottage are very thin, which can make it noisy but nothing to complain about!
Review 46:We were there with our two sons (7 and 12) and had a lot of space, inside as well as outside. The swimming-pool and the large garden are great. There are only a few cottages on a big land, which makes you feel very comfortable. And it's very very close to Cowes center.
Review 47:Thorn mosquito nets on the front and back door. Mould growing on the window seal in the lounge room. Dirty appliances (toaster and kattle) Inflexible check out time (did not allow for 11am check out!)
Review 48:The cottage was spacious and comfortable. Sue is friendly and helpful, made us feel welcome. The pool and outdoor play ground so close to the cottage! Having horses and cows “next door”.
Review 49:Only thing I think could be improvrd would be a table & chairs on deck.
Review 50:I travelled with my daughter and grandchildren aged 9 & 10 and the pool and the large grassy outdoor area to run about on kept the children entertained. Cottage really clean and not too close to other cottages. Good location short drive to most attractions.
Review 51:Too many moskitos. We all got beaten. My wife 5 or 6 on each leg. BBQ outside knobs need replacing. Perhaps a mosie zapper outside the bathroom window and laundry side. The water floodin at the back brings all the mosies
Review 52:close to cowes pool BBQ
Review 53:Down side. Our cottage had no front wire doors on either door. My girls eaten by mossies!! Not sure why there wasn't as some others had one. Also out laundry door small landing but no stair to step down. Found that dangerous with kids as they wanted to go to feed horses out that way and had to watch no falls!!
Review 54:Great for families. Spotless clean cottage. Being small resort no trouble kids having space in pool. Highly recommend. Very peaceful
Review 55:The cottage we had was extremely clean ,bright and fully self contained. Definitely the place for kids. Life size snakes and ladders, drafts ,pool with water slide and although a little tired and play ground. A few hundred metres to cowes Main Street . staff so friendly and helpful. Next time on the island we will be staying there again.
Review 56:Not a very nice welcome at all. Were met by this shy kid that told us his parents weren't home. Got the key and we were on our way. When we didn't have any power or hot water the next day i had to go looking for someone. Finally found the kid in the backyard who then had to call the parents to open up the reception. Pots and pans in the kitchen were dirty, shelves and night stands dusty. Tried cooking but the stove never got hot.
Review 57:Excellent location!
Review 58:Cannot think of anything negative.
Review 59:Great facilities and spacious, clean and in very good order and nice and quiet. Close to town and attractions, located next to paddocks where horses come to visit early in the morning.Looks like a great place for families with playground and BBQ .
Review 60:The fluorescent lights in every room. Even one bedside lamp or lounge lamp with a dimmer would be lovely.
Review 61:A quiet location, well-equipped individual cottage with private, covered parking adjacent.
Review 62:Bbq area & play equipment out dated with no baby seat Swing. Pool is solar heated so not warm to swim in April. Site says heated pool
Review 63:Family friendly restaurant with good pub type meal at a good price. Beautiful quiet area as only 6 cottages
Review 64:I love the fact that its a family place my 2 kids loved it there my partner and I could relax while the kids went and played in the playground, they loved the pool with the slide and there was plenty of room for them to run around! I would definitely recommend anyone to go there no matter what age, my family and I can't wait to go back!!
Review 65:Pool states was heated but afraid it wasn't. Disappointing for the kids.
Review 66:Had a great stay. Great open spaces for the kids to play in. Very personal only 6 cottages.
Review 67:Comfortable clean rooms. 2 min drive from town. Quiet and great surroundings. Pool, play area and open space for kids to play and enjoy. Definately go back again. Excellent place for holiday with young kids and teenagers. All the family enjoyed the cottage and it's surroundings.
