Reviews for Hotel Life

Review 1:Bed clothing & towels clean but smelled strongly of cigarette smoke or something similar. Room with window to inner yard/chimney very hot, no air to breathe. Nearby bar loud till 4 in the morning. Ok for sleepover but not for longer stay.

Review 2:Good proximity to center & port.

Review 3:Small room in comparison with the other accomodations I've stayed No suspension for the shower head (seems to be ordinary in Crete accommodations)

Review 4:Friendly staff Close to the airport, bus station and city center Good wifi

Review 5:The rooms and especially the bathrooms are outdated.

Review 6:Location, close to the ferry port. Clse to the old centre. We needed to take the boat to Santorini, so this was perfect.

Review 7:Very friendly and helpful staff, good atmosphere. Comfortable rooms. Great breakfast. Also the hotel looks much better in reality than it did in the photos on the net.

Review 8:The bathroom was too small.

Review 9:Good hotel for spending one night while travelling through the island. Easy to find, on a commercial street very near the airport. Helpful staff, comfortable, good breakfast.

Review 10:Almost no choice for breakfast, and very limited amounts; the worst hotel breakfast in long time. Very loud, because of planes landing/taking off.

Review 11:Walking distance from the port, as well as from the city centre and bus station. Rooms at the front have a nice view to the port from the balcony. Clean and nice equipped room, comfortable bed.

Review 12:The shower head was tiny - although this may be a general Greek phenomenon and the lift was tiny, only able to fit 2 people and 2 cases at a tight squeeze. These are minor problems, however.

Review 13:Convenience to the port, although I would suggest that you take a taxi at about €5 the first time you visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were comfortable.

Review 14:Small room the one person room. The main drawback, however, was that the room had no balcony, and the window has no view. Instead it looks in the 'lightwell'. Moreover, it was little noisy due to the airplanes and there was also a noise from the fridge.

Review 15:clean room, the location, near the buses, the port and the airport. On foot the center of Herakleion.

Review 16:The bar as a bit expensive and maybe would be busier if more economical. Breakfast was fine but could be improved with less choice but more quality.

Review 17:The hotel is a short walk from the port and rooms at the front have a good view from the balcony (we were in the first floor). The room was stylish and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. There is a nice bar and cafe on site.

Review 18:The safety was awful. The maid left the door locked while it was open allowing anyone to walk in. She would leave the balcony door open as well. The sheets were never changed during my 4 night stay. The staff was not very knowledgeable or helpful. Although you could walk to town Crete was not very walker friendly. Many times you would need to walk through parking lots to avoid walking on the street where cars were driving on.

Review 19:I liked the proximity to the city center. The wifi was awesome! Best I had in Greece over all.

Review 20:The hotel building is quite small, as compared to other newer hotels. It has been nicely renovated, but you will not find the space in your room to do yoga. But it is not a negative - it was expected, and a value for money was good, although there is perhaps close by (little be further on perpendicular street leading directly to the ferries) another hotel that was listed less expensive. But can not comment on the other place standards. Overall friendly staff made up for cramped space, and it was not an issue for me, for one person it was enough space. But I have seem smaller places. I am just warning that for longer stays, family vacations type, it may not be what you are looking for. 1-3 days visiting city, without kids would be OK.

Review 21:This hotel is one if not the closest to the entrance to ferry (port), with convenient walking distance downhill. For those who want to stroll with luggage, it is the #1 choice. Also, within reasonable walking distance to Heraklion Archeological museum and city (tourist) center. Breakfast was OK, but certainly size of the hotel limits little food options. Friendly hotel staff, looks as family run (not sure it really). Maintained OK.

Review 22:It doesn't have great sound-proof walls. I could hear people talking in the hallway, and I would assume that people could hear me if I talked loudly in the room.

Review 23:I have stayed at this hotel a number of times because of the location. It is close to the main bus station. In front of the hotel, there is also a bus stop for the bus that goes to the airport. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the city center. The breakfast is pretty satisfying.

Review 24:Nothing we didn't like.

Review 25:The staff was great. The rooms clean and my kids loved the balcony and the patio, excellent to enjoy of the weather. Close to the bus stop, so we used it as a hub to go to Knossos and wonder around town, but specially to have an easy walk to the harbour in the morning.

Review 26:The staff was welcoming and very helpful. The location is great for transportation, really close to the port, an the bus station (walking distance) and close to the airport as well. We were pleasantly surprised with our room, the AC worked well, there was also a fridge and the shower was fine. It had a shower curtain, big + ;o) If you don't mind a little walk to the center of town, it is a good value for a few days to discover Iraklion. * May 2015 Google Maps had the wrong address for this hotel. It is not too far from the McDonald

Review 27:In the singles, at least, the shower is hobbit-sized. Really, no normal-sized adult homo sapien could possible fit.

Review 28:You're probably considering staying here because you want to walk to the port in the morning to catch a boat. That's why I chose it, and that expectation was fulfilled. Otherwise, it's a good 35-minute walk from the hotel to the more interesting part of Heraklion, so not the best choice, location-wise.

Review 29:This was an excellent location for getting the ferry, as it was a 5 minute walk to the port. It was a 5 minute from the bus station. We didn't have breakfast here as we were getting an early ferry. The bus to the beach outside the door was to be every half hour !! never showed up after an hour and a quarter wait, got taxi to beach. From the beach we got bus into town passing hotel , we were very near the centre for shopping!

Review 30:The location was convenient but on a busy, noisy street. It did not have many good places to eat close by and walking was difficult because sidewalks were few and far between.

Review 31:Hotel Life was easy to find and very convenient to access the ferry port or airport. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. We were leaving Crete by ferry so were there for two nights allowing ourselves aday to visit the Palace of Knossos which was also easy to get to from there.

Review 32:Room only has opening to center shaft so dark. We didn't mind because we were mainly there to sleep.

Review 33:Easy walk from ferry, easy bus ride to airport. Woman at front desk very helpful, breakfast was good. We walked to the Archeological museum, don't miss this if you are interested in the Minoans, it is excellent.

Review 34:The hotel didn't have any character. The air conditioning leaked, not just a bit, the whole rug beneath it was soaked by morning.

Review 35:Location close to the port and not far from the museum.

Review 36:10 minute walk to the Heraklion centre

Review 37:Had a one night stay here, got,off the bus (from heraklion), walked 200mand was at the hotel. Walked into the room laid down - hands down thebest bed I've slept in Europe (been travelling for 13 weeks, and am6 ft 4 inches so I'm picky!) following morning checked out, walked 4minutes to the ferry and was off - nice and efficient stay :)

Review 38:12 minute walk to the city centre to find good Cretan food. Secondsmallest lift in the world. 1 person with 2 bags capacity. The otherperson walks up or down.

Review 39:Only 300 metres from port but it's an uneven footpath to drag yourbags (typically Greek). Clean, comfortabe rooms at €74. €5 forbreakfast. Not the range we've had at other botels.

Review 40:The balcony is nice but it's loud.... Big city, no big deal, quiet inside. And I guess get your own breakfast? It's just a bit strange, but not horrible.

Review 41:I don't know why, but there is a bit of a shortage of double beds in Greece, unless you count putting two single beds together. The bed here was so good, perfect comfort, we considered just sitting in it all day! Location is a little walk from the city, like 5 minutes. They are nice people, there's a pool table if you're hangin at the hotel and a little bar and cafe. It's also right near the ferry port and the bus station and the view is pretty of the harbour. It's loud but the sound proofing is really effective.

Review 42:Poor breakfast - even coffee was not good

Review 43:Perfect location - 5-7min walk to ferry harbour and/or bus station A local bus (ticket 1,50E) can bring you from the airport to the hotel within around 15-20min and just meters from the hotel's entrance (look for the stop next to the McDonalds) Good wifi signal Nice stuff (ask for the restaurant recommendation - there is a family restaurant nearby which serves truly great food)

Review 44:the room was a bit stuffy and there was no window to the outside.

Review 45:the room was clean and comfortable bed. great wifi. we had a drink in the bar which was nice. the girl in the reception was very nice.

Review 46:I must say every time the elevator stopped at the floor the loud voice telling you what floor you are. You could listen inside your room. If you have the balcony door open can be loud at nights due to some traffic on the main street.

Review 47:Very friendly staff and nice modern facilities. The smile of Anastasia at the Reception is a winner.Fast Wifi and nice small back garden for breakfast.

Review 48:Paid for Breakfast but not alot of choice and need a larger toaster!!

Review 49:Near Heraklion Airport. Only 10 Euros in cab for 4 people and luggage.Hotel very near Mcdonalds. Friendly staff Good for a short stay due tocentral location near to port.

Review 50:Limited bathroom space Too noisy during night since is on a main road. Too expensive for the provided space (10m2)

Review 51:WiFi Staff assistant and politeness Free parking next to the hotel

Review 52:Nice hotel for a soft price. A bit out of the center of Heraklion, but close to the harbour. We had a familyroom for 4 with a giant terrace. Breakfast is O.K.

Review 53:The toilet was amazingly uncomfortable with a sink so close to you it was impossible to actually sit down. Never seen anything like it in all my travels.

Review 54:Nothing at all.

Review 55:Main road quite dangerous to cross outside.

Review 56:Our children were pleased with the nearby MacDonalds. We could walk to the centre and drive very easily to Knossos.

Review 57:the staff were very helpful and friendly. the lobby was very nice and the rooms were comfortable and clean. We spent a night there before heading out on the ferry. It was an easy walk into town and the next day, it was a quick walk to the ferry with our luggage. Highly recommend Hotel Life.

Review 58:Hotel is expensive for a one night stay, especially because of its location.

Review 59:Hotel is very close to the harbour, especially when you need to catch a ferry. Personel is very friendly and helpful.

Review 60:The bathroom was little tight to move around; especially the shower area. And elevator only fit one person at a time.

Review 61:Our group of 6 appreciated that each person had individual web access code so we had no dropped signal. Also the location was great since the harbor was about 2 blocks away to take the ferry to the Island of Sandorrine. Good parking across the street from Hotel. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Nice recreation area where there was pool table but had to pay per game.

Review 62:Stayed there for proximity to the port for early morning ferry and was grateful to find it was also a fabulous hotel. Modern, with lift and spacious room and bed.The staff were polite and very helpful, it made our stay a pleasant experience.

Review 63:Near harbour, 4 km to Heraklion airport, 1 km to the Archeological Museum. Though the street in front of the hotel is very busy, the room was very quiet. Good for one night waiting for transfer, no place for a longer vacation.

Review 64:We stayed at Hotel Life just for one night so that we could catch the ferry from Heraklion to Mykonos and it was a perfect stay for the night. Clean, friendly and accommodating staff and most importantly, super close walking distance from the port! Definitely recommend for a close and convenient stay to the port!
