Reviews for Regency Apartments Adelaide
Review 1:Our flight arived early, and reception was more than happy to check us in altho our room wasnt ready they sorted that problem and organised another room. Rooms were clean, altho would suggest to provide extra clean blankets in linen cupboard as extras that were provided were dirty and stained.
Review 2:It wasn't a bad experience, but I needed to get to the bus station at 6.15am and at first I couldn't get the key card to open the front street door. After about 5 - 10 mins it did work. I was a little concerned as there was no one around to help me out if I got stuck in the building.
Review 3:I had a twin single share. The room was ready, it was clean, reasonably quiet and very close to the part of the city that I needed it to be. I found that Regency Apartments were good value for money.
Review 4:Had so much trouble with the car parking, literally had 1cm of each side of his ute clear to get into the car park. Took us ages just to find a way to get out. Not a lot of room to park once we got in there either. Once we got to our room, there were bugs everywhere running around. Wasn't pleasant and very off putting. Won't stay there again.
Review 5:Even though the double bed was 2 single beds pushed together, my partner had a good nights sleep as it was comfortable.
Review 6:The bed was hard, very much like in China. 4 rooms grouped together with a common kitchen area.
Review 7:Close to the buss station if going on a tour to Kangaroo Island. Close to Chinatown.
Review 8:The beds were awful and uncomfortable and the parking was a very tight squeeze as we had to go through an alley and use rear entrance due to front roller door being broken.
Review 9:Location was good as we had a concert to go to at adelaude oval.
Review 10:The car park was tiny and hard to maneuver around, there was no sugar or milk, I asked for a double bed and two singles were put together, which made the sleeping uncomfortable (You could feel the edge of the single beds).
Review 11:The location was fantastic, room was neat and tidy and shower was a great size. The small fridge in my room was not working and they did not hesitate to change it to a working fridge.
Review 12:Fan mouldy in shower. Power points didn't work. Noisy neighbours. Parking awful. Tv didn't work.
Review 13:Vicinity to Central market. Come and go. Comfy bed
Review 14:We checked in after hours, could not open the safe. Luckily after hours support arrived within 10 minutes. Wall was thin, could hear neighbours.
Review 15:Location was good, had all the things you needed - TV, large bed, fridge, ensuite, air-cond, shared kitchen.
Review 16:We arrived after staffed hours. However, instructions were specific and we found the way to our room no problem. The room was clean and tidy with a great big kitchen and dining room. Great location to the bus station.
Review 17:Insufficient linen. No soap. Fridge noisy and not working. Balcony had solid wall 1.5m away. Balcony very dirty.
Review 18:Staff provided soap and extra blanket on request.
Review 19:No car parking (but it made us get up early to move the car and explore the city, so in a way it worked out good that we didn't spend a whole morning in bed)
Review 20:After reading the reviews we were very nervous to go into the hotel. But we were very pleasantly surprised. It really is excellent value for money, considering its almost the cheapest hotel in Adelaide our expectations were low. But the room was nice and clean! It's a Good location. The rooftop balcony!! although it wasn't the best view, it was still nice and a very great place to chill out and enjoy the sun before going out in Adelaide
Review 21:The powerpoints. We had to boil the jug and recharge our phones on the floor. Our first key lead us into a communal kitchen/dining room. There were 5 rooms off this. More like a backpacker situation.Paid parking is a joke. Poor linen in squishy bathroom. Pay your money and you are on your own. Very unhelpful staff.
Review 22:Right in the centre of Adelaide's Chinatown. Close to dining
Review 23:No hair dryer in the room and nobody available after 5:30pm to ask if possible to borrow one. Could not get the TV to work, there was no directions and nobody available after 5pm to show how to make it work. Other party in the unit left early and left the main door open...
Review 24:I wasn't made aware at the time of booking that my room was 1 of 4 in a self contained unit, of which the kitchen/living area was shared with persons in another room
Review 25:Nothing, I got a refund
Review 26:Bathroom had no shelves or hooks, toilet water tank was leaking and pool of water formed by the evening. Rhere was soap dispenser in the shower but no soap on the sink
Review 27:The communication with hosts was prompt and accurate. Managing keys to enter and exist satisfactory. WiFi was fast and reliable
Review 28:Took me a couple of goes to find my room. Once that had been sorted by the lady on the desk, it was great. Beautifully appointed room with lovely furniture and a huge bed. Bathroom was small, but clean and all you would need.
Review 29:I requested a balcony room which I did not get, and also had quite a hard time finding the apartment as it was actually inside another (confusing, right!)
Review 30:The location was good and room was clean.
Review 31:Bit apprehensive hearing others moving around and through the share kitchen . My door was locked but I wondered who I would find if I opened my door! Bed was very firm but the soft blankets were gorgeous.
Review 32:What a lovely surprise to find the apartment so clean and bright.
Review 33:Lack of management. Extremely noisey and disrespectful. No resolution until 12.30am. Then had to change rooms as they couldn't control noise? Walk through shared kitchen etc. Dirty dishes everywhere. Decor not up too any kind of standard I don't think.
Review 34:Nothing.... would of said price but now its understandable.
Review 35:The layout of the apartments is very unusual, and it can be quite difficult to find your room after you pick up your keys. Reception is not open on weekends, so you will pick up your keys from a drop box near the entrance. I had no issues with this process.
Review 36:This block of apartments is very close to the CBD, and walking distance to everything (including the Adelaide Oval). Very reasonably priced.
Review 37:Amazed no reception at weekends, annoyed room key not in allocated box & had to ring caretaker to gain entry to building. Given different room to one stated earlier; incredible only 1 milk sachet supplied, told had to buy more if needed. Smoke alarm went off in early evening, tried in vain to silence it, eventually stopped, no-one came, told next morning was set off by someone smoking in room & fire brigade had turned off at main switchboard within 5 minutes.
Review 38:Helpful caretaker - clean, comfy beds.
Review 39:Everything there.. Paid extra for a city view balcony and got givena wall to stare at.. Changed to other rooms and didn't like themeither! I wanted money back so they did and took $30 cancellationfee when it was their stuff up!! Never recommend any one to everstay here!!!
Review 40:Nothing
Review 41:When I booked I was confirmed balcony facing the main street view rather I had one with the Buliding getting constructed which was really bad as an experience
Review 42:We occupied one of two bedrooms in converted apartment. Small, with shared kitchen. Hard to find our room on third floor even after receiving photocopy instructions from reception.
Review 43:Close to downtown bus station so we could easily walk to catch 6:30 AM bus to Cape Jervis without uncertainty of finding a taxi
Review 44:The room was not clean. The overhead fan in the bathroom had years of dust, the property had an unpleasant smell and powerpoints in the room didn't work.
Review 45:The location was great, a short walking distance to everything
Review 46:room was filthy , never cleaned under bed or the balcony area mould in bathroom we were told we were upgraded would of hated to think what we would have been in before . and alarm went off and we had to evacuate because of someone cooking
Review 47:the only thing good was the location
Review 48:"SECURE" car parking for $20 PER NIGHT was ABSOLUTLEY APPALLING. Parking such as that should have been free of charge. Did not get a key for the roller door to get our car out at check out and had to wait around as there were absolutely no staff on site. Waited around in the heat on arrival as our room had not even been cleaned. Had 3/4 flights of stairs to our allocated room to carry all our luggage up. I would say that $160 per night for the services/condition of our room and with such paint scratching car parking was a total rip off, knock $100 off and i would honestly say that price is the fairer amount for such quality..so $60 is all our room was worth.
Review 49:Short walk to the city.
Review 50:Booked 2 rooms, toilet wasn't working in one, TV wasn't working in the other. Called the assistance number but nothing could be done despite them spending hours trying to fix the toilet.
Review 51:The location was the only thing good about this place. Close to shops and Hindley Street.
Review 52:Staff don't speak English very well!! Quite confusing sometimes haha need patience.. No DVD player or radio.. One downlight in my room was broken and kept flickering which was quite annoying.
Review 53:The staff are friendly, they text me early in the morning and said my room was ready and to come whenever.. Left me a cute little Happy New Year note on arrival haha.. Location was good, fairly secure place, quieter than I thought it'd be.. Shared kitchen was odd but didn't prove a problem so that was fine.. Room was very spacious.. Shower was great, air con was amazing, spesh as it was 39 degrees outside yet it was so cold in the room I needed a blanket .. Balcony quite big.. TV worked well.. Overall this is a good, comfortable hotel, at one point I had about 12 people in the room, no worries at all.. Great value for money.. I would stay there again.
Review 54:There is limited parking at the Apartments. However, there is free parking in nearby streets between 6.30 pm and 9am the following morning. Currently there is building works going on next door. But they don't start until 7am, which was fine for me.
Review 55:Quite a unique experience. The place is a bit like a rabbit warren with rooms inside units within the complex. Rooms were clean and tidy with tea/coffee making facilities. I arrived late but was greeted with friendly service and an escort to my room. The room was very quiet at night and within walking distance of many of Adelaide's bars and restaurants.
Review 56:I check in quite late, the information given to me was good and the staff was very helpful.the customer service was good ,good location, not bad for a day stay.
Review 57:I could have paid slightly more for a much better hotel. Room was dity- mold fur coming out of shower fan plus rotting food in fridge. Staff were very rude and did not have an a acceptable.level of english to accurately fulfill tasks on reception. Lots of mistakes even though we called to confirm all aspects of visit. Decore looks hap hazard and like salvos was responsible. Not good at all. The 6am construction site outside the window and chorasters practicing scales at 7am werent helping either. No staff on weekend....????
Review 58:The bed was comfortable and the hotel was close tohour event
Review 59:It wasn't at all like the description online. There was some horrible sewerage smell and the room wasn't even ready two hours past check in and we had to wait. The bed may as well have been a plank of wood and the water tasted odd. The desk staff looked really confused when I asked for more toilet paper and they had to call someone to find out where it was. They also didn't seem to understand that one roll wasn't enough for the length of my stay with two people. Do not stay.
Review 60:We asked for single beds but were given a double which was quickly changed. Smallish rooms & we had to climb up stairs. No lock on the sliding door to the balcony & the stove was out of order so we had to use one in another unit.
Review 61:The price was reasonable for a twin room with an en-suite and the location was good for what we wanted to do. The girl at reception was friendly & we were able to book in early.
Review 62:No parking despite having it listed on the website at 20per night. building site next door so was noisy from early in the morning. room was far from clean. $100 deposit was expected without prior warning however as the space is shared this is a concern, especially as i have not had that money returned. No iron, there was a book advising to contact reception for a spare however reception was closed being a weekend.
Review 63:Secure, location was good for our requirements, price was good.
Review 64:Noisy construction project , 6am they start to do the noisy job right behind my door. Extra 20 $ for parking when you check in , which is not mentioned in booking .com 100$ deposit that they charge you for the damage and it will be return in your account later.
Review 65:Location , it is very close to everything.
Review 66:No one in office on weekends phone number on door was a lady in perth who had not worked there for 8 months tv did not work got locked out of our unit lights didnt work keep flashing cockroaches in room
Review 67:bed was way to hard matress very bad- u could feel the springs. although u had a balcony no privacy and security is shocking for our apartment - u need to tell people to lock apartment door.. overall not bad with everything else
Review 68:clean and comfortable i enjoyed it
Review 69:1) Location 2) parking- have to pay @$20/day and a huge tree in between entrance & exit. 3) rooms- 1st room given TV is spoilt and facing next to construction. Request to change-2nd room all the way top. shower sliding screen came off needed to carry most of the time when showering. no soap dish. shower head kept dropping down after showering. Pillow too soft. 4) staff - poor in communications. 5) Cleanliness - fair. Overall - Poor.
Review 70:City views eill disappear within months by a huge construction next door. Shared kitchen is a great idea, except when other guests arrive home at 1 am and decide to cook a meal. No soap in bathroom
Review 71:False advertising on booking an apartment to find it is shared kitchen.4 flights of stairs.Doors don't lock. Automated phone service forafter hours service/problems. No power. No points near kettle (Evenif you have power) Drunken behaviour from hoons in hotel. Should onlyever be advertised as a hostel, not anything more!
Review 72:Room not cleaned properly Upstairs party so I couldn't sleep. No one answered my phone calls after hours. I ended up facing the party at midnight to ask them to keep it down. I felt unsafe having to face a party of about 6 people in the middle of the night by myself. Extremely poor value for money.
Review 73:The staff were unhelpful and uninformed and in one case didn't speak any English. Reception shut at 5:30pm and was closed over the entire weekend. The kitchen facilities had two teaspoons and no other cutlery. My room had a hole in the floor and the shower screen fell off. TV had appalling reception and didn't show channel 10 at all. I couldn't wait to get out of there and would not recommend Regency Appartments to anyone. It felt more like a hostel for international students than the serviced appartments they portray themselves as online.
Review 74:The bed was reasonably comfortable.
Review 75:Bathroom had a disgusting smell, asked for a double bed and instead got two single beds pushed together, dirty plate and rubbish in the room, payed an extra $60 for parking and was not told that their was construction on the block next door which resulted in a crane being parked across the driveway and we could not get our car out all weekend, reception closes way too early and opens too late and is not even open on weekends.
Review 76:Good central location.
Review 77:Staff, told me I could park outside for a while but I got fined. Cockroaches in our room. Place very unclean.
Review 78:Location

Review 81:The apartment was very dirty, there wasn't enough bedding & one of the beds had springs coming through the mattress.
Review 82:Location, hot water.
Review 83:2 single beds used as double. Private car parking was tight, especially for bigger cars. Had a view of a wall!
Review 84:Closeness to the city
Review 85:Didn't like location very isolated and no assistance available
Review 86:Unhappy with my stay
Review 87:Building site right outside my room. Stairs up to room from communal kitchen. Fire escape would have been difficult.
Review 88:Location and value for money
Review 89:Was very quiet despite very central location
Review 90:The bed was quite hard and the shower was very dirty.
Review 91:Walking distance to markets,shops.
Review 92:Room was meant to be cleaned after 7 days, but not cleaned at all after 12 days. Reception unattended most of the time.
Review 93:King sized bed.
Review 94:Room was not clean. Bedding not as clean as should be. Advertising of unit not as it appeared.
Review 95:Location.. Cost.
Review 96:Is a little too far from everything.
Review 97:TV only could get two stations channels 7&2,also not enough pillows.
Review 98:TV didn't work properly
Review 99:Staff member was helpful
Review 100:Bed only had a thin blanket. Was cold during the night so didn't sleep well.
Review 101:Location and price were good.
Review 102:Every thing else except the location, and they had the nerve to charge the going rates. To summarise the experience it was rubbish.
Review 103:The location
Review 104:Bed was very soft
Review 105:Location Privacy Free wifi Cost
Review 106:Clean and tidy
Review 107:Could have been closer to Womad and better sound insulation from neighbours (above us)
Review 108:Womad, Writers Festival, time with friends
Review 109:Having two single beds instead of a double.,, the garage clicker didn't work...the balcony faced a building site....
