Reviews for Ashcroft Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:The location was 10-15 minutes away from Blackpool where I had to work. Also Blarney is a superb little place. The B&B was very pleasant, warm and clean.
Review 2:Manager was extremely friendly and only too happy to provide advice. Room was good size and very clean. Good position with a 15 minute walk to village.
Review 3:Nothing.
Review 4:Even if Irish people is nice...Ann is nicer. The breakfast (you have to pay separately) was great. The room was very nice and warm, with a comfortable bed.
Review 5:No common sitting area where our group of five could be together although one was shown in the advertising. No desk in either room although this was advertised as being there and would have been useful to us. Although rooms were advertised as spacious they were not. Very cramped in both the double and triple rooms we were given.
Review 6:Good location
Review 7:Found a spider in the shower and another two small ones under our pillows. Also we thought we were at a bed and BREAKFAST however upon checkin we were told that we need to pay another euro15 for breakfast!!!!
Review 8:Nice room and bathroom.
Review 9:The room could be bigger.
Review 10:We had a wonderful stay (2 nights). Nice quiet place not so far to the village and the city Cork. The room, not so big, is lovely, clean and confortable. We had a room on the street side but there wasn't noise coming from the road. The owners are very very friendly. The breakfast: one word..... excellent! Good wifi and car parking.
Review 11:Being vegetarian., i would have like some veggie sausages with my breakfast. But food was still lovely and high quality.
Review 12:Lovely stay. Friendly family run B and B. We had several conversations with Anne and Chris and we felt like we were their friends. They made us feel so welcome. Would love to come back :)
Review 13:Great location only a ten minute walk from the village, very warm and welcoming atmosphere from the owner from the minute we arrived to the time we left, rooms were spotless and very comfortable, overall an enjoyable stay here.
Review 14:Chris and Ann were magnificent hosts ! They were very helpful with area activities and even cut their evening short when our key wasn't working, even their daughter helped us out !!!! The best breakfast we had in Ireland ! Would recommend this B&B in a heartbeat !!!!!!!! And our room smelled so good !!!
Review 15:We loved everything
Review 16:Whats not to like? The place is lovely. It felt like home. Anne is the loveliest hostess and gave us the best advice about when to go to Blarney Castle. She made the most amazing full irish breakfast. She sets a beautiful table. I would definitely recommend this B&B.
Review 17:No safe for valuables.
Review 18:Chris and Anne were superb hosts! Friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and inviting. Well maintained B&B and will definitely come again when i visit Cork again.
Review 19:This is the first time we booked into a BnB as we wanted to take advantage of the close proximity of the place to Blarney Castle. The rate we pay for is very overpriced and not value for money.
Review 20:The place is near the castle and the hosts are friendly. The room was clean and tidy but was very overpriced for a BnB.
Review 21:Owner was not pleasant, on the phone or in person.....The three of us who had the breakfast did not think it was very good.....esp. for the extra charge for it. Our least favorite place and breakfast for our entire trip.
Review 22:It was one of the last places with rooms available in Blarney...we wanted to go to the castle early, so we wanted to be near town.
Review 23:The mattresses were very uncomfortable. The rooms and bathrooms felt very tight and cramped.
Review 24:The location was very near the old section of Blarney. The rooms were clean and well-appointed. The bathrooms were updated.
Review 25:When we arrived (a few hours earlier than check in), our hostess greeted us and explained she was having plumbing problems in the house. She had arranged for us to stay at another B&B nearby for the same price and her husband led us over to the new location. She handled the situation well and we were more than satisfied with our replacement accommodations.
Review 26:The B&B was located very close to Blarney Castle (worth visiting for the grounds even if you have no desire to kiss the Stone) and was also well located for visiting Cork and other nearby towns. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable; the breakfast was very good, and the hosts were pleasant to chat with.
Review 27:Outside is very cute and nicely decorated. Flowers in bloom- rooms were quaint, clean and very comfortable. Rooms look exactly as they do in the pictures.
Review 28:Breakfast was amazing (eggs, bacon, pancakes, fruit). Very friendly host. The town of Blarney is small but it is a great base for exploring Cork and the West Coast.
Review 29:Breakfast was a bit pricey but was good
Review 30:Great experience and we loved our stay. It's location is perfect and close to all attractions. Our room was lovely and so was the owner.
Review 31:Insufficient seating for breakfast. No table for 3 and host insisted we sit separately which meant my husband sat alone! We could have pulled up an extra chair!
Review 32:The location was excellent and the house was very clean.
Review 33:Our triple room was a bit cramped but overall a very nice place to stay.
Review 34:Clean, bright, new, nicely decorated. Excellent location with parking and free wifi. We didn't take breakfast. Would highly recommend. Good value for the money.
Review 35:Anne was most welcoming to us, giving us excellent travel tips and restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and comfortable. Location is easily accessible by car, and quite simple to walk to and from the centre of town. Excellent value for money, would definitely stay here again!
Review 36:Nothing to complain about here.
Review 37:The owners are so lovely, chirpy and made us feel really welcome. The room was lovely and clean with a private bathroom. Highly recommend staying here
Review 38:we liked everything.
Review 39:First, Anne, was OUTSTANDING!!! She does everything herself and is amazing at it. She gave excellent recommendations and was a delight to talk to. Breakfast was absolutely perfect and delicious (I had pancakes and fruit while my husband had the traditional Irish breakfast with eggs and meat). The location couldn't be any better in Blarney!! The bed was beyond comfortable! The room was very spacious, well-decorated, and well-kept. We loved every minute that we were here. We will stay here again when we are in Blarney.
Review 40:Parking is a little tight
Review 41:Anne was very friendly and welcoming. She suggested dinner at the Muskerry Arms which was very nice as well. We enjoyed the stay and the food.
Review 42:Cold in the bathroom.
Review 43:Beautiful decorated rooms, clean and new bathroom with a nice big shower. Good Irish breakfast was included in our booking. Friendly and most welcoming host.
Review 44:Not a problem for us as it was quiet but the car park might be a little cramped were they to be full.
Review 45:Good sized room. King size bed. Friendly host. Great location. Hearty breakfast.
Review 46:Nothing
Review 47:We loved the modern and super-clean rooms. The wifi was fast. The host was lovely, and she prepared us a tasty and plentiful breakfast the next morning. Plenty of ideas for our roadtrip, what a lovely stay, thank you!
Review 48:Clean, friendly and very comfortable. Our hosts were very helpful. In fact, we followed Anne's recommendation and went to the Dingle peninsula and were amazed and delighted!!!!
Review 49:It was a fairly short, but uphill walk from the closest bus stop, and difficult when you are dragging luggage. Definitely helps to get a cab up the hill when you first arrive, and the fare is very reasonable. People in town gave us this advice, and we really should have taken it!
Review 50:Beautiful room and private in-room bathroom with shower. Everything was very clean and extremely comfortable. Quiet and relaxing. Ann, the owner, was very helpful in answering all of our questions and calling a cab for us, etc. We really enjoyed our stay in friendly, fun Blarney! The girls said it was their favorite town in all the towns we stayed in. :)
Review 51:the Wi-Fi kept dropping in and out and some of our hot breakfast was cold.
Review 52:The rooms were comfortable and the bedding allowed for an excellent night sleep. The hostess was wonderful and gave great suggestions.
Review 53:the room was quite cold TV had only two channels that worked
Review 54:beautiful clean room, nicely decorated, spacious bathroom excellent price very kind staff
Review 55:Ashcroft B and B was very well located and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make our stay a special one. We felt wonderfully welcome and content. Thank you Ashcroft B and B!!
Review 56:Parking is on the driveway of the house. Although there separate gates for in and out, it can be difficult maneouvreing the cars when the B & B is full. This isn't a big problem, just a little inconvenient if someone is parked behind you.
Review 57:Clean and comfortable accommodation, Of a high standard, with everything as described. Friendly family run B & B with good breakfast which, although quoted in addition to the Room charge, is a comparable price to others and value for money. Restaurants are nearby with live traditional Irish Music. Cork is a short drive with plenty of parking in the City Centre. Cobh is a short drive also with plenty of free parking. There is traditional Irish Music and dancing in Triscal Christchurch and Arts Centre, well worth a visit.
Review 58:Only wish we had booked more than 2 nights.
Review 59:The owners are lovely, have lots of good advice. The breakfast was beautifully presented and tasty too. The rooms are super clean and elegantly decorated. If you can get a room here our group of five agree that this the place to book.
Review 60:Pretty early breakfast. I believe the times were 8am to 9am.My husband and I like to sleep in a little later.I did not ask if we could get a later breakfast however as friend as the woman was I am sure she would have gladly adjusted for us. It worked out because we got to Blarney Castle early before the crowds so we walked straight to the stone with no line!
