Reviews for Schloss Mittersill

Review 1:after 10 pm no reception no room service, min bar have only some nonalcoholic drinks, it should be a spa hotel, but unfortunately the sauna was close and open only after 3pm, swimming pool is closed, you have only relax room that's it.

Review 2:amazing property, amazing location and view.

Review 3:Amazing stay at this beauiful castle. Very elegantly renovated with exquisite furnishings. The entire staff was over the top friendly, helpful and welcoming. The views from our room were picture post card perfect. Don't miss out on the spa - it's such a relaxing area. The breakfast and dinner at the castle were superb. Such a fabulous way to end our visit to Austria!

Review 4:Beds uncomfortable & too few pillows and no aircon or fan. It was hot during our stay but we got virtually no sleep due to heat in bedroom so left after just one night and went to nearby Kempinski for comfort. An expensive episode as no partial refund offered

Review 5:Friendly staff. Amazing views from bedroom. Impressive building with history.

Review 6:Very kind and helpful staff. Good advice on where to take the kids for a day trip and really kind when we had to cut short our stay last minute. Also we got a wonderful upgrade. We will definitely be back.

Review 7:During our stay the hotel accomodate an entire football team, who considered that the pool was there personal playground, with jumping in the water, yelling and portable station for very loud music.

Review 8:Very friendful and helpful staff, a gorgeous position with mountain view, a very good breakfast. The bathroom was also very nice.

Review 9:Otherwise this place would get close to maximum points, but it's really unacceptable if loud construction/renovation works start as early as 7:30am in the morning, the management shouldn't let this kind of thing happen.

Review 10:The views and the overall atmosphere, it's a truly unique place.

Review 11:Staff could have helped at check-in with luggage up the hill as our vehicle couldn't be driven up the narrow drive. Rather pricey dinner.

Review 12:Room with a view, good rainhead shower, good breakfast. Charming castle and a fun location. Friendly staff.

Review 13:-Our suite was on the fourth floor, while the elevator only reaches the second floor, had to climb up 2 stories and walk a long corridor to reach it. The elevator door opens near the auditorium, you have to walk through it then past a long corridor and then the stairs, on the second day, the auditorium was locked and the hotel staff told us the auditorium was only opened so we could take our luggage up, and that we should use the stairs. Overall accessibility isn't great, you'll have to walk a lot in this hotel. -No bell boys, you're basically supposed to carry your own luggage to the room, which is difficult with all the stairs, the front desk lady offered to help but it doesn't seem right. -There was loud noise in the early morning from renovation works, might be annoying for people who don't wake up early.

Review 14:Very clean, great breakfast, amazing view, would stay there again despite the negative points below.

Review 15:amazing views and very good breakfast! we'll be back for sure...

Review 22:the room, the bed , the views and the staff

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Every things

Review 25:It was a little difficult to find the place.

Review 26:We liked virtually everything!

Review 27:The sauna suite was not open 24/7

Review 28:The Spa facilities were excellent, rooms were spacious with walk in showers

Review 29:The view, mountains, area, all

Review 30:Should have stayed another night.

Review 31:Wonderful staff. Marvelously updated castle that keeps its historic charm. Half board provided great meals.

Review 32:Nothing.

Review 33:Very friendly welcome and helpful friendly staff. Stunning views, especially from the outdoor pool. Great food and wonderful charm. Yes, it has a few minor challenges with regard stairs to some levels, but it is a castle, with character and atmosphere, and if you want a golf cart to take you to your room and a porter to take your bags from the golf cart to your room, then stay in some awful, characterless modern block of 'flats' in a city centre.

Review 34:Attentive and friendly staff. Can recommend for a special celebration. Excellent blend of old castle atmosphere with modern facilities and comforts.

Review 35:The breakfast is a little boring after 3-4 days, the quality is good, but one special offer every day would make the difference. The wifi is only working well in the rooms, the restaurant is barely reachable, in the wellness relaxing area not available at all. Would be nice to use an ipad for reading etc there. The wellness is open only until 7, it should be open longer, as after skiing it is only possible to arrive around 5.30 to the hotel. There was a piano on the corridor, which was the best toy of some people going back to their rooms after a birthday party at 1 am, but this is only partly fault of the hotel, the piano could be lockable. There should be carpet all the way on the corridor, so the rolling suitcases wouldn't wake up the sleeping guests at 11pm.

Review 36:The check in was a great experience, a glass of prosecco was offered in the launge area, while the friendly staff prepared the paperwork. The restaurant is really a gourmet place, something like a bistro meaning that the menu is not very long, but contains such food creations that are an experience. The halfboard dinner is a great choice that offers a new variety of food every evening. The staff in the restaurant as well as the other parts of the hotel is very friendly and proffessional. We could have breakfast some mornings in the greenhouse with view on the mountains - thanks for it again! The athmosphere of the hotel is great as it is a 900 years old castel, that was renovated last year or so. Everything is new and comfortable. The wellness is not very big, however large enough to have everything that is needed to relax after skiing or hiking in the mountains. The panorama finn sauna is a great experience, but the best is sitting in the swing relax seats while looking at the panorama of the alps after the sauna! The apple tea served in the wellness area was delicious. Definitely would come back again!

Review 37:The hotel staff was extremely kind and helpful. They really made you feel like you're the most welcome to the hotel. The recently renovated spa with a gorgeous outdoor pool was very stylish. What I missed was a light music in the spa and in the restaurant/lounge. Also they could provide some entertainment like snooker as it looked like they have extra rooms for that purpose.

Review 38:The lack of access from the car park can be troublesome for some, thenormal suite had structural beams inside, slightly cramped.

Review 39:The view was incredible, and the swimming area which leads outsidealthough small has a fantastic surrounding, half board dinner wasexcellent.

Review 40:Parking is cumbersome. Getting your luggage into the castle is verycumbersome, and driving up the narrow passageway to the keep isdifficult. Then lugging your bags up the flights of stairs is not forthe weak or elderly. They need a golf cart and porter system badly. Thecheck-in process is cumbersome, formal, and lengthy.

Review 41:Very unique experience. The hotel is, indeed, a 900 year old castle highabove the city of Mittersill, Austria. Not difficult to find. The roomwas medium size, but had a grand view of the valley below and the Alps. The dinner was elaborate and quite fun. Service was excellent. Iwandered around the castle keep and the garden outside. Lots ofopportunities for great photos.

Review 42:Lack of air conditioning is unusual for a 4* hotel at this price, and was a problem - the room was quite warm, and keeping the windows open all night was not a good option, since the rooms overlook the hotel restaurant's terrace, which tends to get quite noisy late afternoon - evening. Room ventilation could be improved - smell of the kitchen in the evenings. No separate parking only for hotel guests, so on a couple of occasions when the restaurant was busy, we did not find a parking place.

Review 43:Overall we would recommend Schloss Mittersill, despite some shortcomings. Beautiful location perched atop a hill overlooking Mittersill. Excellent staff. Spacious and comfortable room with a nice view. Very good breakfast, including home made or local food (try the Schloss Musli!) Good restaurant with very good service.

Review 44:Parts of the castle were undergoing reconstruction at the time of our visit so this caused a small disturbance.

Review 45:Beautiful location with a magic atmosphere. Attentive and frinedly staff. Nicely and tastefully furnished rooms. Rich breakfast and gourmet dining.

Review 46:Great SPA and restaurant.

Review 47:everything was fantastic!!

Review 48:Entrance for the cars too small No elevators

Review 49:Friendly staff ,, luxury rooms for honeymoon ,, relax & spa ,, good value

Review 50:Friendly & attentive personnel, great room (standard suite) withexcellent view, feeling of "modern old castle"

Review 51:The pillows were small. But I am sure you could ask for more.

Review 52:The hotel is beautiful and the staff are amazing.

Review 53:Delicious kitchen. Kindly personal.

Review 54:The rooms could get too hot.

Review 55:All of it.
