Reviews for Blarney Castle Hotel
Review 1:Noisy until late in downstairs pub. But then again, it was a over a weekend in December and these are the Irish after all!
Review 2:Large Rooms. Very comfortable. Nice view of park with Christmas lights. Friendly staff. Walking distance to Blarney Caslte
Review 3:The staff in this hotel really make your stay. They couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The rooms were gorgeous and it's location is perfect. Right around the corner from Blarney castle & The Woollen Mills. Would recommend it to anyone!
Review 4:We had a lovely stay here. From the minute we checked in the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We had lunch & breakfast in the hotel which were both lovely. I'd definitely recommend this to anybody who wants to stay in Cork. Only a 10min drive from the city with a regular bus in & out and right beside Blarney castle :-)
Review 5:Hotel prices but not hotel standard. There was no option for even a sandwich after 9.30pm, not ideal if you're a late arrival due to traffic and no-one on reception!!!! The function room has a glass roof and situated outside the bedrooms. The music can be heard throughout the hotel and is especially loud in the bedrooms. Between the music, the noise from a generator outside the window and the water swishing through the pipes in the wall, don't expect any sleep. As I said hotel prices but not hotel facilities. I have stayed in B&B's located more centrally in the city, with similar facilities for a third the price.
Review 6:The staff were lovely, and though we only tried bar food and breakfast, the food was excellent. Rooms were spacious, immaculate, comfortable beds and wifi excellent.
Review 7:Nothing to fault with this place.
Review 8:Enormous room, well maintained and clean with very comfy beds. The town of Blarney is wonderful and this place is right in the middle of it. Local pubs, shops and atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I'd stay again for much longer!
Review 9:THere was nothing to dislike at all.
Review 10:The people and the food were the best ever. We stayed at 5 hotels on our trip and this was the best and when we come back we will definitely stay there again.
Review 11:The hotel had a party going on downstairs until 4:00 in the morning, so our night and next day were totally ruined by lack of sleep. There was no room in the restaurant so we had to go elsewhere to eat. Not a great experience.
Review 12:The owners were very nice, but did not adjust the charge for what we did not like about the hotel. Location was great, and parking was good.
Review 13:A minor point, the Cheese board should contain the excellent range of local cheeses.
Review 14:Friendleness of all the staff, and welcoming of our dog. Excellent for walking the dog nearby, good food and a busy and lively atmosphere.
Review 15:Hotel is a little tired but this kind of adds to its charm.
Review 16:location is brilliant. staff are very welcoming. highly recommend.Immaculately clean. Fab served breakfast.
Review 17:Amazing! Room was great, but the food was even better! Right next to the blarney castle where you can kiss the stone. Oh, make sure to stay on one of the nights when they play live music; it was awesome. We loved this place, only wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 18:Comfortable,spacious room. Meals served late in to the evening. Cork City an easy drive away. Bathroom old fashioned but functional and clean.Lovely location and good service. Nice hotel experience - hotel has character and personality.
Review 19:The car park was tiny and took a bit of clever manoeuvring.
Review 20:The room was huge!! I loved that there was a teapot in the room and not just cups like most places. Breakfast was lovely. It's only a three star hotel but it was one of the most comfortable and enjoyable stays.
Review 21:Booked a room for my mum and nan while they went to Cork for a funeral and when they got there the hotel was full! Even though I had booked them a room! It was late evening and cold outside and they were exhausted and had to go out and find somewhere else to stay. Luckily they did, but what if they hadn't? Absolute disgrace of a "hotel"
Review 22:The staff was so welcoming, we did not want to leave! The breakfast was lovely. We felt very pampered and well taken care of. Very easy to walk to the Blarney Castle and enjoyed the castle grounds.
Review 23:Lack of special dietary options for breakfast. (gluten and lactose free)
Review 24:Everything! Location second to none. Owner, Ian, who attended to us on check in was so friendly, polite, enthusiastic. All other staff encountered were also very friendly and efficient. Room was as requested on booking - second floor, overlooking the square so could see the trees with Christmas lights on and Blarney Castle all lit up - beautiful. Food in bar - yum! Atmosphere in bar - relaxed and friendly. We parked right outside no problem, but it may be more tricky in summer. Wished we could have stayed longer.
Review 25:nothng
Review 26:stayed here for 2 nights hotel very central to blarney castle, pubs and restaurants. The room was spotless and the complimentary bottles of water a nice touch. the breakfast was superb .Muskerry arms up the road was nice for a drink. Cork city only about 5 miles away.
Review 27:Nothing, we were lucky to be here in a quiet time ❤️
Review 28:We had travelled many miles touring around the West coast and Wild Atlantic Way so booked 3 nights in Blarney! It was quiet (except for a an 18th birthday party) and close to all amenities required
Review 29:Very small, had a rock band with amplifier in bar that could be heard in bed rooms until 230 am. Without notice and no way to sleep not great when on vacation and wanting to get going in the morning touring. Next time stay elsewhere and sleep
Review 30:Right at the castle and the woollen mill, nice breakfast.
Review 31:From the moment we arrived we were made extremely welcome. The staff were first class and willing to help with anything we asked. Location beautiful and food and hospitality first class. Will definitely recommend and/or come again.

Review 79:Location
Review 80:The room and the breakfast
Review 81:Very little space to park.
Review 82:The bar was nice with good atmosphere. Food was ok Room good
Review 83:There was a little bit of noise in the early part of the night, but it didn't last for very long.
Review 84:Very friendly and hospitable staff; spacious, clean and nicely decorated rooms. A fantastic breakfast with a wide range of choices. Located directly opposite Blarney castle. The Blarney Wool Mills is a fantastic complex to visit.
Review 85:To be honest, we didn't get to stay in the hotel as they had overbooked. However, Ian at the hotel sorted us accommodation at a nearby Bed and Breakfast at the same rate (the room was palatial). We ate at the hotel, great food and staff. Ironically, slept better at the B&B as it was away from the Long Weekend crowds.
Review 86:Nothing regarding the hotel it self, but the bar at night was veryfilled with no so friendly locals. Felt very out of place there sochoose to head to a pub directly down the street, it was great and thelocals very friendly and tons of fun!
Review 87:Everything. An amazing room ! Such class, beautiful views, close toeverything and breakfast was great too.
Review 88:Close walking distance to Blarney Woolen Mills & the Blarney Castle/Blarney Stone. Staff was very friendly - even carried our bags up stairs for us. Breakfast is served in the adjoining Lemon Tree restaurant. Cooked to order & yummy! Several restaurants around for dinner although they served dinner in the bar downstairs. They have a show starting at 10:00 p.m nightly. Too busy so we ate at Christy's Pub in the Woolen Mills. Excellent food! (Ask for a quiet room if you don't want to hear the music late into the night. We had quiet rooms - big too! But no view. fine with us, just a warning that the quiet rooms don't come with a view.)
Review 89:Nothing really except it is a small town so there's not much to see but still very enjoyable.
Review 90:Right in the middle of the small town of Blarney. Near the castle. Breakfast was great and the staff were all very friendly. We also liked the pub on the first floor with live music. The music seemed to be a group of locals just playing together - not a formal band. There was even a group of local girls who did an Irish dance! I understand the music only happens somewhat infrequently, maybe only one night per week, so we lucked out.
Review 91:Very good location close to Blarney Castle, spaciuos and tidy rooms and staff who are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed our stay very much.
Review 92:band playing till 12.45 as asked for a quiet rooms and were given 30 and 31 directly facing onto band area
Review 93:staff at reception staff at breakfast and check out breakfast all excellent surpassed expectations
Review 94:Toilet still had previous occupants faeces in toilet A bit noises but not so that was problematic
Review 95:Staff and food excellent location could not be better
Review 96:The wifi signal was weak at times.
Review 97:From the moment we walked in we felt at ease. Every member of their staff were welcoming and friendly, couldn't do enough to help you enjoy your stay. Room was spacious and clean. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, both were delicious. The breakfast was lovely too with great choices. The location is perfect if visiting the Blarney Castle.
Review 98:There was nothing that we didn't like except possibly leaving!
Review 99:My daughter and I were traveling together and planned a reunion withIrish cousins who live in Co. Cork before moving on to Limerick for morereunions. The staff allowed us a quiet corner in one of the rooms tovisit with three cousins and their spouses without expectation of ameal. As it turned out we were there from 2:30 in the afternoon until9:00 in the evening and we did have tea and then later a meal which wasdelightful! We had a wonderful visit with cousins in a comfortable areainstead of trying to do that in our room and will definitely recommendthe spot to others. Also, we did a bit of shopping at the Woolen Millswhich was a bonus!
Review 100:Spots of something reminding blood on the bath curtain.
Review 101:Staff, especially reseptionist - he is great. Room was spacious. Breakfast coffee was excellent.
Review 102:There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel.
Review 103:Room was fantastic. Wish we'd stayed more than 1 night! Breakfast was lovely. Staff were excellent.
Review 104:Unless we paid €12 per head to go to Blarney Castle and grounds, there was no-where locally to go for a walk.
Review 105:Beautiful, spacious and well-appointed bedroom, friendly and pleasant staff, fantastic breakfast menu. This is a small, quaint and very authentic hotel right on the village green. I have already recommended it to people.
Review 106:Car Park was a bit tight but staff helped to ensure a "prangfree" stay
Review 107:Staff who took the time to talk to us and give advice about local area.Good location for trips out. Food was very good - had breakfast anddinner. Position on the village green.
Review 108:the hotel is not for families. this was my second trip staying there, and was completely different. my husband and I stayed there with my parents this time. the website says irish music on the night we stayed we based our whole trip around staying there on that night, they did have the music the last time I stayed there and it was so my fun. this time they had some kind of open mic. which was very disappointing. went to bed about 10:30 and had no chance of sleeping because our room was right above the bar and the front of the pub/hotel. it was so loud we had to shut our windows (in 25 degree weather with no fans) thinking that would make a difference in the noise, but it did not at all. so we waited a while to see if it would get any better. it did not so at 12:30 pm I went down stairs to talk to the owner, and she did nothing. didn't get to sleep until almost 2 am. it was awful. I had talked up this hotel so much to my parents and it was nothing like I said. I will never come back. so to sum it up. the hotel was very hot, very loud, was harassed by drunk people, and didn't have the entertainment promised.
Review 109:the rooms are nice. clean and big. the location to the castle. near a bus line. staff were very nice.
Review 110:I liked everything about this hotel. The staff are excellent. The room large, comfortable and clean. The food was the best we had on the trip. It is a great location for sightseeing and shopping at the Blarney Woolen Mills. The bartender and wait staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Loved this place. It is the one place I would go back to in Ireland.
Review 111:It was rather warm when we were there so we had the windows open. Our room was right over the entrance of the pub, so it was a bit noisy with the windows open.
Review 112:Great location-near the Blarney Castle and the Woolen Mills. Nice large and clean rooms. Staff was great! Both the breakfast and dinner were excellent. Hotel had a lot of character.
The Fine Print
