Reviews for Hotel Alexakis

Review 1:Breakfast can be improved (especially comparing to former visit here a year ago).

Review 2:Convinient location in Lamia region, Great hospitality ny the owners, intimate and super clean.

Review 3:The internet connection is really bad in the room and in the lobby.

Review 4:The owners are incredibly nice, warm and ready to everything so you can enjoy your stay. I really liked them very much.

Review 5:The hotel was the best we stayed in during our tour of Greece. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable, the best we slept in during our stay in Greece. The rooms were spacious enough for our family of 4 adults to visit together. I would definitely stay here again.

Review 6:Very pleasant and considerate owners. Beautiful and quiet area. Walking distance to center and great restaurants. Nice breakfast. Comfortable beds. Clean bathroom. Very fair price.

Review 7:beautiful area, walking distance to the town center the hosts, Julia and Sophia, are warm, accommodating, eager to please their guests. I am studying Greek and they were so helpful as I practice the language

Review 8:Although lobby is completely renovated, the rooms are small and not so comfort. The other guests in hotel were very noisy late at night.

Review 9:Very Good and helpfull stuff, ok location, nice terrace.

Review 10:It is hard to find this village if you are using GPS. The safest way to reach it is via Lamia, you just have to follow the signs.

Review 11:One of the owners of the place with a smile met all of my special requests (and of others, I am sure)! I felt at home in a very nice veranda talking to this lady and having fresh juices. The hotel is value for money and it offers much more than some other hotels in Greece with 3 or 4 stars and it's perfect for a couple of days stay in a peaceful environment. We didn't use hot springs since we went to Delfi, Meteori and the seaside while we were there.

Review 12:The bathroom looks like in the '90s , with old style ceramic tiles and an old sink faucet that made strong noise when opening/closing (hot water one). No exhaust fan in the bathroom . It became very humid after showering. The room furniture was old and outdated, yet functional. Lack of mosquito nets at the balcony door, which forced us to use insect repellent diffuser all the time. Picture for standard rooms are a bit misleading , at least for me, leaving the impression that standard rooms are also modern. I guess only superior double rooms are. The third bed was of a lower quality . If I pay for a triple room , I expect same bed quality for all beds. Otherwise I take a double room and extra bed. CCard terminal was not working (temporarily).

Review 13:Cleanliness of the room. The owners' willingness to go the extra mile for satisfying the guests' requests. The breakfast. The bar, lobby , terrace, palm trees at the entrance and the modern look of the exterior of the hotel. The bed quality of the other 2 of the beds.

Review 14:A little of the normal route, but we were very happy to be welcomed so warmly by owners Sophia and Julia. Our balcony had lovely views over Mt Iti. We were recommended a place to eat in the village which was great to sample some local cuisine. This was a great place to chill in between travelling from Delphi to Meteora. Room clean, light and comfortable, breakfast lovely. Hot thermals near by to chill at after a day of travelling. Thank you to Sophia and Julia.

Review 15:It was a little bit far from the highway , but we could see the authencity of Greece.

Review 16:It was a nice place to spend the night on our way to the seaside.

Review 17:Better than most 4 and 5 star hotels that I have stayed in whilst travelling in Greece. Very hospitable owners made me feel that I was staying with friends.

Review 18:From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and helpful, they went out of their way to make sure we had the information we needed by phoning a local restaurant to ensure they were open that night and giving us lots of written information about the local area. We really enjoyed the complimentary drink with the lady owner when we arrived back from dinner. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of local produce. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

Review 19:Nothing bad.

Review 20:Just passing through on our way north, arrived late at night and the lady here couldn't be more helpful. Made us some food and brought to our room at 11pm, like staying with your mum. Can't speak highly enough about the place.

Review 21:Couldn't get the wi-fi to work.

Review 22:Sofia and Julia, the two sisters who run this hotel, couldn't have been more welcoming. I was given a glass of the local spirit, and then a refill, plus strawberries from the garden. Room was spotless, breakfast really nice. Lovely village with a great restaurant 300 yards away.

Review 23:This hotel is excellent. The facilities are well kept, the beds and bathrooms are very good. The best thing, however, is the warm and sincere attention from the staff. A family-driven hotel at its best. Can be warmly recommended.

Review 24:Furnitire in the room is not new, but it isn't a problem!

Review 25:Warm staff hospitality, warm and cleen rooms (january), very good bahtroom, fast internet, parking. The best rate of quolity/price

Review 26:Doors soundproofing

Review 27:Beds, breakfast ,lounge area with a fireplace were excellent. Along with the information about nearby sites, supply a full short holiday package.

Review 28:The breakfast was a little disappointing compared to the standard of everything else. Very limited items on offer and the coffee wasn't very hot.

Review 29:Nice public area with wood fire and comfortable seats. Julia organised a meal to be delivered for us to eat as we were tired from travelling & didn't want to go out. The hotel and room were warm and comfortable, plenty of room and a big balcony.

Review 30:One of the owners Sofia, was amazing and caring person. Her hospitality was unforgettable. She is always ready to help and give information for the area. The hotel is renovated, in a very good location. Breakfast has always something from 'home', sweets or cremes (also rice-creme!!), and fresh juice. I absolutely recommended!

Review 65:Nice rooms with a good view in a nice and quiet village. Julia and Sofia are great hosts. Breakfast has some home made treats. Very pleasant stay.

Review 66:Very good all round. Great breakfast helpful management.

Review 67:A beautiful hotel that is completely worth the few minutes drive outside Lamia. Its a heavenly place with natural therapeutic waters and an uncommon hospitality provided by two lovely sisters. Its a treasure to experience for a few euros when in central Greece.

Review 68:I did not realize it was in a rural area but I loved that part in the end.

Review 69:This was a great place to stay while in that area. The hosts were superb, service excellent and rooms big and spotless. Some great sites around the area. One of the best monestaries I have seen in Greece!!Thermopolai museum great also.

Review 70:Peaceful setting in quiet resort village close to great mountain walks.Charming proprietor with fluent French and English, made us feel verywelcome. Delicious breakfast with local and home produce

Review 71:The owners told us about the thermal springs and explained that the facilities would be open for the first day of the season on the day we were there. A good suggestion for a very nice experience! Une des propriétaires parle français vraiment parfaitement.

Review 72:We stayed for one night off season. The owners, two sisters, we're extremely welcoming and friendly. The place is newly renovated, shining of cleanliness. Amazing home made breakfast of local fresh product. Everything here is simple and wonderful.

Review 73:The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very nicely renovated, clean and it is a great place to stay as a family with children. The hotel offers excellent value for money. The location is excellent for visits to the Oiti national park and to reach other destinations in central Greece.

Review 74:If I HAVE to mention one thing it would be the small elevator where only one person with luggage could fit. Not important to us, though.

Review 75:Excellent staff, fantastic location (for those who wish to stay near the city but not in the center), amazing hotel, comfortable, CLEAN, family-friendly. We will definitely stay at this hotel whenever we visit Lamia.

Review 76:Easy access, easy parking. Very friendly staff. Recently renovated interiors. We were off-season, so restaurant was not working, but taverna next street was very nice. Very quiet surrounding.

Review 77:During a trip to Greece, we had problems with our car. We stayed at the hotel Alexakis. And we were pleasantly surprised. Firstly, it's fairytale beauty of the mountains, pristine air, the atmosphere of peace and enjoyment. Secondly, it's certainly, wonderful friendly atmosphere, politeness and professionalism, warm welcoming of staff, ability to assist at no time. Especially we want to thank Julia, who on the first day found a mechanic to our car, and it was put to the garage for repairs. The next day, Julia organized for us a great journey to the village, located nearby, which is rich in sights and then drove us to the marvellous historical place - Thermopyles. Lovely rooms, very clean, great location, highly recommended hotel by all meanings!!!  We are hoping to come back again to spend a wonderful time, one more time! With best wishes, Tatiana, Valeriy

Review 78:We visited during the off-season so the tourists attractions were closed to visitors.

Review 79:Very friendly owner and staff (family/relatives of owner). Had a lovely breakfast on the terrace. Enjoyed chatting with the hosts and definitely will come back to visit again in future.

Review 80:Apart from the magic view of the city of Loutra Ipatis and the natural surroundings I really liked that Hotel Alexakis has a great level of professional staff putting all their effort to accommodate the most of the requirements the customers ask for. In particular, while being kind enough to offer his best regarding the accommodation and hospitality level, the manager on duty of the hotel Charalampos Kiteas (aka Babis) is a real tourist guide of the whole area. Specialised in the economic and prefectural development he knows every single detail not only for the touristic places one can visit but also has a very profound understanding of the way this specific area has evolved and keep growing every year.

Review 81:The owner was really helpful and gave me the correct direction for Iti pathways. The hotel provides high level of services and friendly environment. I impressed from design(timber all over the walls) and recycled materials which the hotel is made. It is close to Lamia city and the national highway, approximately 10-15minutes,making the access easy. I stayed in the second floor, the view from the window were stunning, looking towards to Iti mountain. Hotel, according to my opinion is "value for money" and top in the area. Everything was perfect.

Review 82:very nice owners, nice small city near hot springs very modern and well equipped hotel first place where we found normal blankets instead of coverings with sheets. nice surprise: chocolate and a bottle of tsipuro.

Review 83:We felt in Alexakis Hotel like at home. The staff is really nice and helpfull. Very clean, modern, comfortable and lovely decorated. 10 points to the breakfast (and the Risogalo, rice and milk, made by Giulia) We decided to stop there in our trip between Delphi and Meteora, and it was a great idea. We discovered Loutra Ipatis, which means the baths of Ipatis, a natural open spa 100 mts from Alexakis Hotel. Loutra Ipatis is also a good starting point to explore the National Park of Iti, and it's around 30 km far away from the new museum of Thermopilas Battle. What else?

Review 84:The hospitality was excellent. This small hotel is situated next to a thermal spring and very close to the city of Lamia (maybe less than 15 min). Beautifull place, clean rooms, friendly owners. The breakfast was delicious including local and homemade products.

Review 85:Very helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast and nice rooms

Review 86:friendly staff, nice view (Mount Oiti), healthy breakfast

Review 87:The room was only half renovated (new bathroom, old rest of the room)

Review 88:Great owners! Excellent hospitality!

Review 90:Very clean hotel, polite and hospitable staff, modern and stylish

Review 92:Great value for money!

Review 93:The hotel is good, but not as good as we expected from the booking marks.

Review 94:People in the hotel were very nice and helpful.

Review 95:Very small TV set, old model, poor picture.

Review 96:Recently renovated. Friendly staff. OK breakfast.
