Reviews for Davmar B&B

Review 1:We didn't like leaving.

Review 2:Beautiful place, excellent location, and even better are the people! We loved our stay and hope to return in the near future!

Review 3:Nice family own B&B with probably the kidnest lady i have ever met. Location is a litle bit out of the town - 10 mins walk or 2 min drive which is great as no noise at all.

Review 4:Gps couldn't find address but nice young fellow at Blarney Castle gave us directions.

Review 5:Friendly hosts and very helpful with advice on sights and meals.

Review 6:We arrived with our three children who were exhausted after a day of sightseeing. However it was very difficult for all of us to sleep due to the constant noise from the hosts themselves. I could hear them talking, a child screaming, and their TV until after 11pm, long after I'd let them know that the volume was disturbing my childrens' sleep. The guest in the room next to us had their TV on all night. The host did come up and ask him to turn it down about 6am. The facilities were nice, but I would not stay here again.

Review 7:Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 8:everythink was o.k but nothing really great, the dog of the neighbours woke us really early in the morning, a bit hard to find

Review 9:the way to Blarney castle was short, we want to visit this next day

Review 10:The location of this B+B doesn´t have enough light if you are arriving during the night. I was missing some lights on the way.

Review 11:B(+B), I like that because the breakfast is not included in the original price, so if the day before you got a big dinner, maybe you don´t need it, then you don´t pay for that.

Review 12:A bit too far out from the village. Not able to check in until 4 pm and having to decide what we wanted for breakfast the night before.

Review 13:Davmar is a very clean, modern B & B with a lovely ensuite. Although too far out of the village to walk there Davmar is a good choice if you have a car. WIFI was excellent.

Review 14:Location was convenient to town (driving about 3 minutes), but hard to find the first time round.

Review 15:Room was fine for 3 people (couple and 12 y/o). Clean, bathroom was fine as were beds. We did not use the common area. Bkfst was good. Wi-fi was fine.

Review 16:Not happy to be charged full price for breakfast when only a bagel was ordered. This should have been made clear, or a cheaper price offered. Beds not very comfortable.

Review 17:Good wifi. Lots of free parking Close enough to Blarney Castle Toys for young children

Review 18:Very close to Blarney castle and the owners are very nice. It was very clean and wonderful. I would highly recommend this place!

Review 19:Stairs a bit narrow and steep.

Review 20:Comfortable accommodation and very very peacful and lovely surroundings.

Review 21:Our host margret was fantastic.kids only want to stay in b&bs in the future.no more hotels.that says it all really.

Review 47:We ordered a triple so that we had our own beds but we got a double and had to share

Review 48:The sunroom was comfortable and had good wi-fi reception. Breakfast was good

Review 49:Gps coordinates took us to behind the property. Fortunately someone was able to direct us to Davmar.

Review 50:nice and quiet, away from hustle and bustle. Very pleasant hosts. Lovely little town

Review 51:Owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Helped us find a parking garage in Cork. Rooms were clean and bathrooms were spotless. Location to Blarney castle was perfect for our visit before the rush. *get there when it opens I would stay again and will recommend.

Review 52:Without GPS navigation it can be a bit difficult to find, especially during the night.

Review 53:Out of all of the places (5) we (my mom & I) stayed on our European journey Davmar B&B was our favorite. The staff is incredible and the rooms are well kept and styled as expected in Ireland. The en-suites were cleanly. It was overall a great experience. I would recommend staying there to anyone!

Review 54:Nothing.

Review 55:Highly recommended. David and Margaret were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Great location. We liked to walk, so it was only a 20 mins walk to Blarney village or 20 drive to Cork town centre.

Review 56:The place is well located to reach the village and Blarney Castle with good signage to get you there(which you will come to really appreciate in Ireland) yet not near road noise. The proprietor is very nice and accommodating. It is very clean and comfortable. It has private parking.

Review 57:Beware of limited check in times. The night of our check in we were delayed beyond our control, so we rang ahead to explain this, after a short conversation it was agreed that our key would be left so we could let ourselves in, which was nice. When sitting down to breakfast the next day I thought it prudent to re-apologise for our late arrival, this was met with a very cold "you should have rung earlier" I apologised again out of politeness only to receive the same response. I understand it was not ideal but there was no consideration from our hosts which made our stay quite awkward. That said, we liked the B&B so asked if we could stay an extra night, which was agreed. On returning on the afternoon of our final night we declined breakfast when met by our hosts in the hall, only to be told that our credit card had already been charged. I feel that this was very rude considering we were not due to check out until the following morning. The cost of breakfast was immediately offered in cash, however, again there was no consideration from our hosts regarding our wants or needs. Upon returning to our room we found that the hand towel had been changed, but both bath towels were where we had left them and our dirty cups had not been exchanged or cleaned even though the coffee and milk had been replenished, so there was no way that the cups had not been noticed. Very slack! The only reason we requested an extra night was due to a very tiring previous day, however I do not see that as a reason to let standards slip as if we had not stayed on the room would have had to been fully prepared for the following guests. All in all, the place was nice but the hosts were rude and inconsiderate. P.S. If you do stay, for the love of god bring your own teabags, the ones provided were pitiful.

Review 58:The B&B is well signposted and in a good location. Our room was clean and spacious.

Review 59:Nothing!

Review 60:Margaret is an absolute love! Her hospitality is so wonderful, her and David both go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and 'at home'. The location is great for Blarney Castle and Woollen Mills. The room is spacious, with a beautiful updated bathroom right inside the room. Hot water, great lighting, peace and quiet.

Review 61:They have cats and dogs which I didn't realize or I wouldn't have booked. I am sensitive to odors and could smell pet odor the whole time. People who have pets wouldn't notice, but I stayed in my room or was out and about as much as possible due to the pet smell.

Review 62:It's close to the Blarney castle and woolen will and other sites and necessities but a bit in the country so it is very quiet and enjoyable. the owner was very helpful and considerate and the room was nice.

Review 63:Breakfast omlette was like a leather plate and tough. It was overcooked in too big a pan. Bed was not made when we returned to the B&B at just after 3.00 pm in the afternoon. It was never made. we made it ourselves. We had to move a bedside unit to get to a power point. One window was unclosable. Unlike photos we had brown sheets and towels that did not match, ie one brown hand towel only, white shower towels.

Review 64:Quiet, friendly. Superb shower

Review 65:Very lovely place with clean comfortable rooms and very friendly people.Excellent location and only about a 6 minute walk to Blarney Castle andwoolen mills shopping. We had a late arrival and even had a lost bagdelivered while there with no problems. We also loved the amazingbreakfast the next morning. Great place to stay while in the Cork area.I wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 66:Beds weren't especially comfortable. It would have been nice toreplace our used coffee cups with clean ones the next day. Weweren't told we needed to take them down. It takes at least 30minutes to get to the airport from here.

Review 67:It was fine overall. Breakfast was good, nice sitting area downstairswhere we played cards at night. They accommodated a last minutereservation change, which we appreciated.

Review 68:Margaret was a great hostess - making us feel welcome and supplying allthe information we needed about our room and nearby restaurants andattractions. Comfortable, not fancy, but clean with good food, greatlocation near Blarney Castle and easy parking at a reasonable rate - £65for twin beds in early June.
