Reviews for Apollonion Palace

Review 1:Beautiful, tastefully furnished room, stunning views, great location, great variety for breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. We hope to come back one day!

Review 2:Loved everything.

Review 3:Gorgeous setting on the edge of Ermopouli, very quite but just a short walk to town. Lots of great food and very cute little harbor town.

Review 4:The beauty of the island and the friendliness of the people there were beyond our expectations. The staff of the Apollonian were helpful and responded quickly to any request we had. Our room was lovely and they accommodated our request for extra bedding. The location was perfect for all of our activities without needing a car or calling a taxi.

Review 5:Our deluxe double room was located next to the entrance, opposite the reception desk. Felt as if we were sleeping in the lobby. It was dark, with a view of the container on the street. Disappointment was too big for me - we left both the hotel and Syros the same day.

Review 6:view from the breakfast room

Review 7:We liked everything, the location was perfect, the staff was very pleasant with great service. The breakfast was amazing with a lot of plenty of choice. We wished we had more time at Syros.

Review 8:The rooms at the front are 'in the sea', so lovely to hear the waves at night. Old world charm and staff are so kind and helpful. Huge choice at breakfast and easy walking from Miaouli Square and port, no crazy steps to climb! This hotel and Syros generally are very suitable for elderly or mobility challenged. We will return as soon as possible, thank you to all at the Apollonian Palace.

Review 9:The building is remodeled for accomodating hotel needs but some rooms are very bad. Our room was in the entrance, right next to the reception, the main lifts and right below the dining room in the first floor. As you can understand if you have trouble sleeping because of noises this is the worst room to choose for a vacation holiday. That was the case for us. I propose contacting the reception prior to booking a room to choose a better option. I will be returning to the hotel because overall it was a very good one, but I will be very cautious about the room next time.

Review 10:The location was amazing, the view from the roof garden and the sea right below. Very kind staff and decent breakfast.

Review 11:The one minor downside was having two twin beds rather than a double, but we knew about it before and was not a problem at all.

Review 12:Had a great stay here just before Christmas, it's a great place in an excellent location, and Spyros made us feel so welcome. We'll be back!

Review 13:Nothing to dislike

Review 14:Excellent location, close to everything but so quiet; sea view definitely worth upgrading to; beautiful and spacious suite; breakfast divine with great selection; staff most helpful and friendly

Review 15:Nothing

Review 16:This is a family run hotel. The greeting and service we received while we stayed here was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was lovely, plenty of option, the rooms were larger than normal. The hotel features a bar, open from 6pm, on the upper floor, but you can take your own drinks here before then if you wish. There is a private swimming area attached to the hotel with lounge chairs. Shaded in the afternoons. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Syros. Unlike a lot of smaller hotels we did not feel we were being watched all the time. The staff respected our privacy. Beautiful untouristy island. Can recommend meze mazi for something a little different from the street food. Not fantastic food but great atmosphere and service

Review 17:Very tastefully restored with beautiful big airy rooms The roof terrace is a great place to start and end the day The staff were excellent and Spyros and Maria were absolute stars with great advice about places to visit and restaurants to sample

Review 18:Room opened directly onto lobby - concerned at first but didn't cause any hassle, didn't hear any noise from other guests or cleaning... Wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 19:Private access for swimming from the hotel - beautiful rocky shore, clear water; Terrace bar; historic building; All staff friendly, Spyros very knowledgable about the island; very near main square, waterfront; great a/c and wi fi; great shower!!

Review 20:All perfect.

Review 21:Everything. Wonderful hotel, just in the centre of the town and in the same time perfect for sunbathing and swimming directly in front of it. Very kind staff, always ready to help you in every circumstance!

Review 22:We gave spent an amazing time at the Appolonion Palace. The hospitality is second to none, the whole staff is amazingly friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing holiday. We would love to come again and will certainly recommend this place to our friends : it's not often you feel at home in a Palace and we most certainly did!

Review 23:The location (at the water's edge), the building itself (lovingly and tastefully restored by its owners) and the exceptional friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff made this a most memorable holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for them and their suggestions on where to go and where to eat were 'spot on'.

Review 24:Very helpful staff, beautiful location and property

Review 25:Absolutely nothing

Review 26:Excellent location,friently staff,fast internet,very nice view,big balcony,good breakfast

Review 27:Lovely staff. Caring and personal.

Review 28:a bit dark in the lobby

Review 29:view of the sea.. classy

Review 30:Bathroom needs serious remodel. The shower was like a stand up MRI machine.

Review 31:The staff is friendly, gentle and very helpful!

Review 32:Terrace with great seaview where you could have breakfast or afternoon drinks

Review 33:The breakfast could have more options. The room that faces the street is very noisy.

Review 34:Satisfied with almost everything.

Review 35:Friendly,helpful owners Wonderful view from the windows of our room. Handy to everything.

Review 36:breakfast

Review 37:location quiet

Review 38:Not available

Review 39:Hotel's position Sea view Home sweet atmosphere in the hotel Comfortable and quiet hotel Cleanliness Well done service

Review 40:i do not like being upgraded by staff everytime i walk into a place

Review 41:overall interior of hotel and room and staff was ecellent

Review 42:Position Amenities Staff

Review 43:Maintenance issues- light bulbs; loose toilet

Review 44:amazing views from balcony. Proximity to restaurants/port

Review 45:Poor breakfast, very expensive ,poor Internet.

Review 46:Very close to the port, very clean.

Review 47:Everything was perfect. Location, stuff, food, atmosphere. I totally recommend it!

Review 48:Room was very nice. We also really enjoyed the bathing area and the ability to just walk downstairs and jump into the water.

Review 49:The bathroom was very small, not comfortable and there was no place toleave your things. The sinks were lose and the 'jacuzzi' showerwas the worst thing we ever saw. At the bottom the silicon was brownfrom the rust and it appeared that the corners of the shower were neverproperly cleaned. Behind the toilet the sewerage pipe was replaced andunderneath there was a big rusted stain. When we showed it to the ownershe said that it is a 5 star hotel and she was unaware that thisexisted. She only offered to move us to another room if we payed another60 euros and we already paid for that room 100 euros per night. Sheshowed us another room were the bathroom was slightly bigger but in thesame state. The buffet breakfast was unacceptable for a 5 star hotelwith the bread being from a day before, the ham wrapped in plastic foiland specially counted for 2 people...not a piece more! Ever since wecomplained about the bathroom the owner was trying to make us move toanoter hotel, even suggesting to cover all expences and pack ourluggage. Furthermore, there were no german channels and the sun terracewas not ready filled with covered chairs and not cleaned. There was nobeach access due to the rainy weather a few days ago but in my opinionif you sell a room for a 5 star everything must be 5 sta. Its ridiculousto want the name but not to be able to provide the facilities. Also theowners should learn a few things about hospitality and managing a fivestar hotel. It is a shame because the hotel is a jewel but it isextremely poorly managed by rude and clueless owners

Review 50:The location of the hotel was very good, min to the center. The hotelwas tastefully furnished however it lacks in atmosphere, it was verycold and unfriendly. The room was big and clean as were the amenitiesand the towels which were changed on a daily basis.

Review 51:A beautiful room with excellent bed and linen. We enjoyed the breakfasts on the roof top overlooking the bay. We even swam in the sea below the hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Good location.

Review 52:The location of taking breakfast (during winter) was uncomfortable as the tables and the chairs were too close to rooms doors. The rooms which haven' t any view to sea, were expensive.

Review 53:I really like the location "Vaporia". Its balcony was wonderful! The bathroom and furniture were of excellent quality!!!

Review 54:Very helpful and welcoming staff in this family run hotel. Gave advice on what the points of interest were and how to get there. Arranged taxis with no notice. Very sad that we had to curtail stay because of ferry cancellation due to predicted bad weather for our final day.

Review 55:Everything.. Great view, close to port and center.. Warm people to welcome you and help you for island information.. Have to visit during summer also!!

Review 56:no flaws

Review 57:wonderful family hotel owners; cozy room with amazing sea view;quiet historical place; access to the sea for swimming right from terrace!! staff fulfill any whim! good location, 5 minutes from the central square, tavernas, shops. tasty greek breakfast! chef can prepares all you want! it was our best holidays in Greece! Thanks to all personnel for wonderful holiday, they make us feel like family members. spesial thanks to Spyros and his sister for incredible beaty porcelain;)

Review 58:Nothing wrong. All perfect.

Review 59:Wonderful hotel with amazing view and access to the sea for swimming. Great staff everytime ready to support you in a way you really feel at home! I want to thank them all for my beautiful stay in Syros, Raffaella.

Review 60:The staff were very helpful. Room was clean, beautiful view of the Aegean. Rooftop terrace bar was a great way to end the day, and the patio with steps leading into the sea as a great way to begin it! Great location, just 2.5 blocks off the main square.

Review 61:If I had to mention something I would just have to say that our room rather hot because of its western orientation. No problems because the AC is functioning very well

Review 62:Quite everything. The staff was extremely helpful, they helped us patiently to park our tandem bike. Tasty breakfas, apart from continental you have some the option of spinach pie, eggs, and greek coffee. Large, and very clean rooms with nice decor. Terrace with terrific sea view. Close to the centre and to the sea.

Review 63:It is a perfect little hotel,a beautifully renovated mansion house on the waterfront in the lovely Vaporia area giving direct access to the sea for swimming. Spyros and his staff could not be more welcoming and made us feel like it was our home for a few wonderful days.

Review 64:The only negative thing that might come to our minds: The (bath)room wasin general very clean, but small details in the bathroom could beimproved (corroded radiater, loose water tap,..)

Review 65:We were greatly satisfied with our (Executive) room having a beautifulterrace/ view, the perfect quiet but central location of the hotel, the friendliness of the staff, and last but not least the beautifulcity. The house is very elegant and it has an outstanding romantictouch. Attention is paid to details. Unfortunately, we only had a onenight stop-over at the Apollonion Palace on our way from Mykonos toParos. But certainly, we will visit Ermoupoli again staying at theAppollonion Palace.

Review 66:Nothing, really, except that maybe they could open the summer season alittle earlier... Coming from a long, gray, rainy, endless winter inNorthern Europe, we were more than ready to sunbathe and swim (earlyApril)! Even if temperature was only 18c! We still took some sun and quick-jumped in the sea. A couple of longchairs with cushions on the low-levelterrace would have added a plus.

Review 67:My husband and I loved our 5-night stay in this gorgeous, stylish xix-century hotel. Our room had a marvelous view of the blue Mediterranean. The staff was very welcoming and always ready with useful and reliableadresses for making our short vacation trip to Syros a great success. Wefelt very much at home. We look forward to repeating the experience!

Review 68:The shower tab was incredibly weird and you couldn't easily control the water temperature...

Review 69:Nice big rooms, staff friendly, clean, wonderful view from the breakfast balcony and in general everything was top level.

Review 70:Cannot find anything.

Review 71:Very nice family hotel, clean, comfortable, large suite, walking distance to the center, superior breakfast and services.

Review 72:Luxury boutique hotel

Review 73:Wifi only accessible in breakfast room. Minor detail

Review 74:Beautifull hotel, staff was very hospitable and friendly. View was great, great room.

Review 75:We had a beautiful sea view room with a four poster bed. The room itself was very spacious. This hotel is run by a family who are very friendly.

Review 76:Hospitality, location, everything

Review 77:There where no fried eggs for breakfast. But ho cares! Breakfast very nice.

Review 78:Eveything!!!!

Review 79:Beautifully restored old mansion, friendly family run place with a fantastic water view and great location. Very comfortable bed, very clean.
