Reviews for Atlantic Hotel

Review 1:Walls are thin, took a while for room to warm up (January), parking is limited.

Review 2:clean, comfortable, bright, quaint, fresh bedding, friendly staff, good food

Review 3:A little bit noisy, the walls a bit thin

Review 4:Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, nice breakfast. We loved our room on the top floor that we had for 2/3 nights.

Review 5:The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable but could do with a face-lift.

Review 6:The location is great and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety and high quality. There was an overall friendly atmosphere.

Review 7:very poor soundproofing in bedroom ie. could hear all the interactions, conversations etc at next door bedroom

Review 8:friendly helpful staff at doorstep of the most wonderful beach and beauty spots

Review 9:Room was compact, window not cleaned,TV was small and not watchable Constance interference on the channels.

Review 10:Location was excellent, staff were helpful, food was good.

Review 11:Room assigned small and on Main Street with giant window directly in front on bed. Second room very dark. I had asked for a nice view in my reservation.Stuffy air in dining room.

Review 12:Location good. Dining room service very good.

Review 13:This hotel is seriously in need of attention. There was mould around the bath, tiles, shower curtain and bathroom window. The lighting in the bathroom consists of a weak strip light and a wall fixture falling off. There is no heating in the bathroom. There was an unpleasant smell in the bar/ dining area pwrhaps due to carpet. This building has amazing potential as it has lots of original features. It needs Francis Brennan!!

Review 14:The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The food is good.

Review 15:Dining area was very cramped and very little space. It wasn't even full when we were there. I can imagine during peak times it might cause a problem . Also car park at rear can only cater for around 5 cars.

Review 16:Breakfast was lovely and no waiting time. Overall it was a lovely stay in a lovely area

Review 17:The hotel was in bad need of refurbishment the bedroom was tiny and extremely noisy.. There's no sound proofing & I could hear snoring from the next room. Not to mention the window didn't close properly so at between 2am & 4am the noise level outside the hotel was unbelievable & not much sleep was had.

Review 18:The location was great fantastic views and walks lovely town.

Review 19:the first night we got room 31 which was poor there was a bad smell from facility+ dark room, on arrival staff seemed surprized by the booking for twin beds

Review 20:the second night room 14 was very nice bright clean nice view proper shower the staff were excellent and the food pretty good

Review 21:Rooms quite small - but spotless - and worth it for the location.

Review 22:Perfect location - steps away from shops, pubs, restaurants and the beach. Hotel was spotless and staff were some of the most pleasant we've ever encountered. Delivers exactly what it says on the tin!

Review 23:Couldn't get WiFi in our room. Our friends got connected to the Hotel next door from their room. No shampoo or washcloths in the bathroom. Very limited parking.

Review 24:Interesting hotel, the rooms were on different levels which helped with noise, i.e. there was none. Great location for exploring the town. Good restaurant.

Review 25:Wifi was poor. Table service for dinner VERY slow. Shower had two settings...VERY hot or VERY cold. No in-between. Room was small. Only 4 channels on tv, only 3 of which had good reception. Limited parking.

Review 26:Dinner menu and food was excellent...fantastic chef! Location is very convenient. Manager was super friendly!

Review 27:Cobweb and dust in bedroom. Loose fittings in bathroom and dodgy water control in shower. Have to go out on to the street to the next building for breakfast. Only 2 sockets in the room which were located beside the single bed, none beside the double bed.

Review 28:Good location. Friendly staff. Parking. View of ocean. Large bedroom. Great breakfast. Reasonable priced.

Review 29:Noisy activity in the early morning (July 7th) from room above. It sounded as if the furniture was being moved & carpet cleaned?

Review 30:I very much liked the way the staff engaged with us. Any queries about where to go & what to do were valuable. The staff were more than friendly & very efficient.

Review 31:Hotel is very dated. Bedroom small and so was the bed. Poor shower with leak on to floor and mould on ceiling. Could actually hear conversation in bedroom next door! At 4.45 am on first night we were awakened by linen delivery at rear of hotel which was being rolled in via back entrance on a very noisy trolley. On the second night the bottle recycling bin was emptied early in the morning. Also some noisy residents scuttling around late at night looking for their rooms and having difficulty with the keys!

Review 32:Staff very pleasant and hotel is right near the beach. Food was very good. It is located on the Main Street although this means sleep could be interrupted by noisy revellers during busy times.

Review 33:I know Lahinch well stayed there from childhood,. and brought my own children as they grew up. who now go there with there own families, and used the same hotel, then known as Vaughans, long family history

Review 34:I was on the back side of the hotel and the view was a bit shabby. Also not much parking available.

Review 35:Staff extremely helpful and friendly. We ate dinner at the hotel after golf and the food was very good.

Review 36:Just about everything! Comfortable and friendly, very good food. My son and me were on a motorbike trip, arrived late, got fed and watered and well looked after.

Review 37:Lovely and relaxed atmosphere. Staff were very helpful, courteous and friendly. Great location. Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Food was gorgeous and very tasty. Very good choice on the menu. Aishling the receptionist / server, was excellent in dealing with us.

Review 38:As above.

Review 39:Staff were generally excellent, very helpful. Nice location, nice hotel in general. Breakfast was lovely. Big negative for us was we hardly got a wink of sleep due to singing/shouting until after 5am in "residents" bar below us. It was a Sunday night and although I rang down to complain after 4am, the porter apologised, it didn't stop. It seems to be where locals go for a late drink. Advice: get room as far away from bar area as possible or bring earpearplugs!

Review 40:Clean room but breakfast room not clean. Dusty + thick traces on cutlery, glasses bad shower

Review 41:Value for money open before april (rest of town is closed) great location

Review 42:Staff were lovely and helpful. Willing to go the extra mile - when I asked if there was soya milk available for breakfast a member of staff went to buy some for me. Food in the restaurant was fantastic and breakfast was great too.

Review 43:- it was very cold, especially in the bathroom - a lot of noise from the other rooms - bathroom door had some issue in opening/closing - no soap provided

Review 44:position in the centre of Lahinch room style is nice

Review 45:The bedrooms could do with a little modernising, but were clean and comfortable.

Review 46:The hotel was warm and friendly and made our stay over the New Year a great break. The quality of Breakfast was really good and was available up to 12 in the morning. The bar food and restaurant food was excellent with a good choice of seafood which we like. Would definitely stay at the Atlantic Hotel again

Review 47:The heating system was poor in the room. The regulation of the hot water in the shower was poor and the walls were super thin, I thought the snoring neighbour was in our bed at one stage.

Review 48:The overall look of the hotel was nice, with good service and a very nice breakfast.

Review 49:Coming from a busy life, the speed annoyed me, but reminded me I need to slow down

Review 50:The staff were lovely, the venue clean and homely. Sometimes they moved a bit slow, but this was because hey took time to care for people so it added to the atmosphere. Comfortable, warm on a freezing a freezing winters eve. Will come again

Review 51:It was the first time my aunt and I traveled to Ireland and the staff at The Atlantic Hotel in Lahinch, made us feel so welcome and felt as though we were back at home in Chicago. Enda, Morell, Pete, Paudie, and Eileen were all wonderful! We felt as though we have been here a thousand times. The Atlantic has the best Irish Breakfast, coffee, and the breakfast spread and hotel is so lovely and elegant. My aunt and I are going back to Lahinch in the Spring and will be staying at The Atlantic again! I highly recommend this hotel for all of these reasons, but it was clean, has comfy beds, and the staff treat you like family!

Review 52:very smoky bar area. Fire smoking blow downs Distinct smell of urine in bar area felt unable to eat there . shower was just a dribble

Review 53:Rooms were comfortable location good. Breakfast really good service good

Review 54:No complaints.

Review 55:A traditional hotel. Room was warm and spotless. Breakfast was excellent. Staff made sure that bicycles were securly locked away at nite.

Review 56:Couldn't easily find the power point for the kettle. Used one behind a bedside table.

Review 57:Reasonable size bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Old world style decor. Limited parking available in their grounds behind the hotel. Food available in bar and restaurant. Good breakfast.

Review 58:not being able to occupy my preferred room

Review 59:The food in the bar and restaurant. The manager very kindly allowed me to store the remains of my wine in the fridge and take it with me next day.It was the best bottle on the menu after all.

Review 60:Rooms are dated , and sounds carry so not easy to get sleep . Early wake up unavoidable

Review 61:Super friendly staff , in the best location in the middle of the town ... Lovely bar too

Review 62:No vegetarian options for breakfast. Ones on menu unavailable throughout 3 day stay. Also options unimaginative. Parking limited, room for 7-8 cars at most. Finally, don't even think about staying in back of hotel on the weekend in summer as the bar hosts the overflow from town and didn't close until 5AM..... Loud, rowdy, unsavoury.

Review 63:Environs and accessability to area attractions. Clean.

Review 64:very noisey at closing time for nightclub nextdoor. revellers seem to gather outside on the street for quite sometime. unfortunately our room was directly above all this.but it wouldn,t put us off going back

Review 65:nice friendly atmosphere and good restaurant that was reasonably priced.

Review 66:We had a Bedroom at the back and it was very noisy on the first morning but the beds were not fit for purpose. We were both very sore from the springs in the Beds. We got a room at front of house for Friday & Saturday night , where the Beds were comfortable but genuinely got no sleep. At 4 am both mornings the street was alive with people having left pubs/ night club and it seemed our beds were on the street. Simply put , the Management of the hotel knew we were golfers in the South and these rooms were inhabitable . Not right & not fair. If I had not booked for the 3 nights and knew the area better we would have left
