Review 1：Strong smell from the kitchen in the rooms (we had two rooms). Malfunctioning air condition-room too heated.

Review 2：Easy to reach the city centre. Parking facilities.

Review 3：The wallpaper were very dirty almost everywhere. The wellness room could have been very nice, but it wasn't clean enough and seemed too old and used. The smell of the kitchen was very stinky and you could feel that everywhere in the building. The staff weren't considered by our request regarding the quite room, becuase first they offered a room directly with street view. Afterwords we were allowed to change to another room, but the wallpapers were dirty in both rooms. At the checkout the manager at the reception was very slow and she did not understand what a booking.com reservation means.

Review 4：Nice location. Good parking. Easy to get into downtown on feet. The historical story and decoration were very nice.

Review 5：The breakfast is rather limited Although being not the cheapest one, the hotel surprises with very relaxed attitude towards cleanliness. The carpets are extremely dirty, curtains are torn, and the towels, it seems, are not changed. Besides that - the towels are heavily worn, with holes, and most surprising - they originate from another hotel, Aranybika, and still have their logo !

Review 9：Coffee machine used a foaming agent, Even the espresso had a thick foam. Leave a card in the electric switch to keep the AC running. It was 100+ degrees outside for our 3 day stay.

Review 29：Weding party in the hotel restaurant and great noise during the whole night, we couldn´t sleep, despite we were on the third floor. The staff even didn´t apologized for it.

Review 31：The staff at Hotel Obester where not wery good at theyr jobb. Waited two days for them to clean the room in the end I had to go and ask for toiletpaper and clean towles. They dont seem to be trained to greet the guests and you get the impression you are in the way. Sadly I have to say the breakfast was one of my worst eksperience yet. I would loke to stay again in Debrecen but not at Hotel Oberster

Review 32：Facilities and location where good. Debrecen is a nice place to visit, had a wonderfull time and I will go back.

Review 33：The air conditioner was broken, it would not stop automatically at the pre-set target, so we had to turn it on/off manually. When functioning it was too hot, when not, it was too cold. The remote control was also broken, the TV could only be turned off using a switch. Shower cabin door was not closing well, leaving a 3 cm gap. The fruits at breakfast could have been fresher, as bananas and pears were quite brownish.

Review 41：The hotel doesn't have any vegetable or and halal breakfast except bread. I couldn't ex plane to the restaurant staff that I want drink tea and green tea. The water in the pot should be hot and cold. It took me one minute to ex-plane that the water in hot water pot are very cold.

Review 43：We are staying in this hotel for a few years allready. In my last review I have allready noted that it is really wearing off. I have allready mentioned the staines on the walls and fungus in the bathroom. But since then everything got worse and the hotels' managment have not done anything to improve the situation. The black fungus in the bathroom now was all over the shower and outside on the floor. It is really terrible. I know you can clean it and it would be much easier if smb would actually care to do it on regular basis. It is a great pity, that loving this place for so many years and recommending it to everybody, I guess next time in Debrecen we will have to find another place to stay.

Review 47：1. Wifi in the room (402) didn't work. 2. The minibar didn't work. 3. The curtains are tiny. They can't be drawn all the way so the room is flooded with light in the morning. 4. Staff incompetent. Asked the guy at the reception to fix the minibar, he just ignored the request. Never lifted a little finger. 5. Breakfast is terrible. I've been to B&Bs with better breakfast options than this 4* hotel. I ended up having two yoghurts and a black coffee. That's it! Nothing else worth even trying.

Review 48：The room (402) was incredibly spacious, the bed extra comfy. Location is brilliant. Walking distance to some amazing food places and 2 shopping malls.

Review 52：Very stylish hotel - wood, carpets, pictures of hussars of different nations. It is not so gorgeous, as Hotel Grand Budapest in famous film, but I think, that the feelings are the same. Very good restaurant with so different dishes as oxtail soup and Ratatouille with smoked tofu. Very friendly staff, very comfortable beds. Strongly reccomend!

The cleanliness was first class and the location near to the centre of Debrecen is a delight.The air con worked well and the bed was comfortable.

Review 64：We are staying in this hotel every time we are in Debrecen and that is allready for a few years - it was allways our favorite. But since last time we have been there the room we have been in have really worn down. Handles in the shower are intensively loosing their coating and it stucks off them; bits of carpeting sidings falling off, fungus in the shower, stanes on the walls through the wallpapers. Honestly these are little things that could be much better looked after in the 4 star hotel. Central air conditioning was set for 25 degrees! and you could not change it for less - when it is over 30 degrees outside. And in the last evening of our stay we wanted to get some wine in the pub downstairs. It states that the pub works every day till 23.00. But unfortunately in this particular Sunday evening at 21.30 - even though there was a person in there - he said it is shut with no explanations and that was it. We were a bit dissapointed this time and we wish that the hotel will try to fit to their 4 star rating and not downgrading.

Review 114：Can't use sauna because some person told me to be naked and it is not one of my pleasure so i have to skip this service. The restaurant need to hire a chef because the quatro formagi pasta had also mushrooms with sand on it , the worst pasta we have ever eaten. The paints descriptions on the stairs are not all true only some pics grabbed from internet and writed some description from imagination.

Review 116：We didn't interact much with the staff, but when we checked out the card machine wasn't working (couldn't connect) and the receptionist did nothing. He just shrugged his shoulders and kept trying it even though it wasn't going to work. Eventually we were able to find an ATM but we had to wait for the shopping centre to open (this was at 8am). All this took over an hour and we missed out train to Budapest. It is unfortunate that the machine was down but the receptionist should have made some effort.

Review 118：We have to admit that we are disapointed at this time about the cleaning. For example: The whole week the ceaning team did not clean the dust where is already there before we checked in. For an hotel with 4 stars, we expect that kind of details in their cleaning. Also our loundry was not taken care very well. First they forgot it. Second they washed some clothes too strong. Third, they brought our loundry back very late. We have to wait for it before we checked out. So there is still room for improvement for the cleaning team.

Review 119：It was our second time where we spent at Obester during the Christmas. The Location with free parking and Wi fi is perfect. The Food is very good if you like hungarian dishes. The personal are as always very friendly. Except the cleaning and the loundry where we are not so happy about, we would come back to Obester again. For us Obester is still one of the best Hotel in the city.

As far as the food, breakfast is diversified and you have a lot of options to eat. I would recommend this hotel to a friend!
