Reviews for The Bath Hotel
Review 1:We were given a warm welcome and greeted by name. Everyone always ready to assist. Teddy, my dog, was made especially welcome, he remembered which room we stayed in previously and raced up the stairs.
Review 2:Mattress on bed was hard. Pillows also on the hard side. Unable to connect to the wifi even in the Reception Area.
Review 3:Jolly good full English at breakfast time.
Review 4:Stairs. The only downside was there is no lift, and bedrooms are over 3 floors. We were on first so not too bad.
Review 5:Everything! Accommodation, staff, food, cleanliness was second to none.
Review 6:Bed was very low and not that comfortable.Sink was in room not bathroom which I'm not a fan of.
Review 7:Staff were helpful and friendly. We had been upgraded but unable to accept due to husbands mobility issues.
Review 8:the fact that WiFi was available in certain places
Review 9:location of hotel was perfect for our needs and the fact that you could take your pet with was a great bonus for us the food was very good and perfectly cooked no complaints about anything
Review 10:Beds just a little too hard and would like less stairs.
Review 11:The staff are special people and made us feel so welcome. The hotel is so clean plus excellent breakfast. So good we can take our dogs.-:5
Review 12:A lot to choose from at breakfast. The location with the view to the sea was wonderful. Lynmouth is just a place one should have seen. The staff was very helpfull and friendly.
Review 13:Real shame with the wifi signal but Lynmouth is surrounded by cliffs..
Review 14:The staff, food 2nd to none. This is the 2nd time we've stayed and will stay again. There is a major refit of the property in October so we'll book again next year..
Review 15:Nothing!
Review 16:Friendly and welcoming staff, excellent service at breakfast. Very nice breakfast, good choices. Comfortable room, lots of storage space. Can't fault it!
Review 17:Lack of a lift made carrying suircases up three fights of stairs a challenge. Worth it though.
Review 18:Staff excellent, breakfast probably the best we ever had in a hotel.
Review 19:Not waiting for Breakfast as it was antiquated having to wait till 8,30 TOO LATE as we wanted to get off earlier due to the bad weather. Very small car park and no phone signal but the main gripe was the shower was inoperable although newly fitted I could not get it to work!
Review 20:Breakfast was excellent
Review 21:Some of the plumbing in the building had a bit of a problem, and was noisy
Review 22:The Staff were very helpful and friendly, pet friendly too, the hotel was in a prime position in the village and food here was excellent. On the day I checked out to go on to another location I decided to return back here for another night as I found the location was perfect/
Review 23:No parking available and staff not able to share where free parking was available in. Lynmouth which I found after paying and I had specifically asked for this info
Review 24:Great value double room rate for single travellers
Review 25:If you enjoy walking this is the place to go. The sort of place for people & if you have dogs quite pet friendly. There is a good transport link as well.
Review 26:We couldn't open the curtains of the room to get dressed in the morning - no net curtains at window, so people could see into the room from outside.
Review 27:The cooked breakfast with vegetarian options, the sea view from the room, the free room upgrade we were given.
Review 28:The only problem was when you paid to have wifi (which was only £2 for the stay) the only place you could access it was the lounge next to reception. As soon as you moved away from this area it was all lost.
Review 29:Great location in the town, lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 30:If you have problems negotiating stairs this hotel will cause you a problem.
Review 31:Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Bedroom large and airy, breakfast amble for a day of walking.
Review 32:The room was on the small side. There was a slight "doggy" smell in the room on arrival. Having to pay £2 for grossly inadequate wifi was disappointing.
Review 33:The hotel is suited in the centre of Lynmouth. The two hotel car parks are particularly helpful. The staff were helpful and efficient, especially the waitress serving breakfast.
Review 34:The kindness and friendliness of the staff was the best I have encountered. We were fortunate to be given an upgrade to a seaview room which was a treat. It was comfortable and special without being pretentious.
Review 35:A very nice room. The one we first booked had too many stairs to climb, three staircases up, and although the view was stunning, the staff sorted us out with a much more suitable one on the First Floor. This was very much appreciated.
Review 36:No lift, check before booking if you have difficulty with this. Bathroom so basic, no hook on door, no shelving, just literally a sink and bath. No hand shower. Room little space to put anything, one shelf by sink with tea tray and little space. TV poor, wi £2 for duration, can only use in main area apparently.
Review 37:Staff lovely and helpful Breakfast good Location excellent Very clean
Review 38:Didnt find any problems at all ..
Review 39:Location is great , staff very helpfull . food excellent ..what more could i say , though ally enjoyed our stay , we are booking again in October , would realy recommend this Hotel .
Review 40:We arrived late as had walked from Minehead, the staff were welcoming and although they had stopped serving food (after 10.15pm) they contacted the local pub and organised hot food for us there.
Review 41:The room was nice with a view of the sea and the breakfast was excellent. We did however reject the original room we were shown to - it was at the side of the hotel on the third floor up many stairs, very dark and a bit worn - it was not the room I had booked and the form said we had a free upgrade - it clearly was not.
Review 42:Wifi was confined to the guest lounge, but in some ways this was a good thing, it made me put my phone down!
Review 43:Booked this hotel as a 20th Wedding Anniversary for my husband. On arrival we received a free upgrade to a luxury room! Absolutely fabulous! Gorgeous room, spotlessly clean, wonderful views. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed an evening meal and breakfast. The food was excellent and service incredibly quick. Fingers crossed we will definitely be making a return visit.
Review 44:Took a long time before the water became hot in the shower or sink, wasteful,
Review 45:The Staff were kind and helpful, rooms were well serviced. breakfast was lovely.
Review 46:Shower did not work over the bath,no wash basin in the bathroom situated, by the window in the bedroom.
Review 47:Sea view, quiet and relaxing, comfortable bed, good breakfast, very helpful staff
Review 48:Noise from the other bars until quite late.
Review 49:Location was great. It was lovely to leave the car at the hotel and walk from the hotel. There are lots of lovely walks in the area. Great breakfast.friendly staff. Free parking.
Review 50:The sink is out of the bathroom and the cold tap made a horrible and loud noise.
Review 51:Staff are very friendly and helpful. The view from the room was amazing. Family room is spacious. Easy to go around and to Lynton.
Review 52:telephone calls from the hotel room are expensive, could be cheaper given that there is no mobile phone signal around the hotel
Review 53:excellent location, very welcoming, would come again
Review 54:Travelled with my husband, daughter and her partner. Perfect location. Kerry the receptionist/waitress/anything else was lovely. Breakfast was delicious with the offer of seconds! Will definitely go back.
Review 55:having to climb 3 flights of stairs - although we were given a room with a sea view it wasnt exactly easy to see
Review 56:we wanted to stay in lynmouth and this was pleasant
Review 57:TV only had a few channels (5) due to poor reception in Lynmouth generally Small car park that is quite often full, but not really a problem off season as usually plenty of spaces along the road very near to hotel
Review 58:Big comfy double bed Crisp, clean good quality cotton bed linen Big bath and shower combo with plenty of hot water Room 29 had a view of the sea Friendly efficient staff Fantastic cooked English Breakfast and lots of other options to choose from too Good coffee in morning Fantastic location in heart of village Lots of places in hotel to sit and relax Three restaurants, one formal, one quite Galley and one Pub restaurant The Harbour offering good quality medium priced food Great customer service by staff
Review 59:This is a lovely old hotel, yes it's a bit of a rabbit warren of corridors and staircases but it's an old building, they were built that way. It was tremendous value for money, an excellent breakfast and free parking in the middle of Lynmouth, what's not to like. Staff were friendly and they were happy for my dog to stay as well, I'd happily stay there again.
Review 60:Very minor !! WiFi not available in room but OK in lounge areas
Review 61:The staff were very helpful and arranged some luggage we left behind to be couriered to our accommodation in Scotland. A very special thank to Rachel and her staff for this. The location could not have been better Room was excellent and while there wasn't a lift we knew that when we booked
Review 62:Reception staff a bit abrupt. One waitress in dining room very bossy and rude. Wifi only available if paid for.
Review 63:Right in the heart of Lynmouth, an old hotel with character but could do with some updating. Breakfast very good.
Review 64:The twin room (28) had a separate bathroom, but the washbasin was in the actual room, which was a little inconvenient at times.
Review 65:Excellent location, parking, facilities and cleanliness, with friendly and helpful staff.
Review 66:In the room I was in the wash hand basin was in the bedroom not the bathroom. I didn't like not having a basin in the bathroom.
Review 67:Good sized room. Lovely views. Good location. Comfortable furniture. Excellent breakfast.
Review 68:Internet - it does not reach all bedrooms. I had to stay in lounge to use it. My room only had a bath. It didn't bother me but I know some people would not be a fan
Review 69:staff are wonderful. Great location and such a pretty town.
Review 70:Didn't like the fact the lower price room we stayed in had no shower or attachment for the bath to wash your hair.( I should have read the room details better!) Decor in the room a little tired.
Review 71:We loved the location and the breakfasts were excellent. Hotel very clean and staff friendly.
Review 72:Parking was limited but wasnt a problem as you could park on the street near by. The bar area was a little dated decor wise but still adequate for our needs.
Review 73:Very clean hotel. Great value for money. The rooms were bright, clean and very comfortable. The staff were so friendly and couldnt do enough for us. A lovely stay.
Review 74:The beds were a bit hard for us bit all was good apart from that so over all very good would stay there again .
Review 75:The location . Very clean and tidy . The food was very good .
Review 76:Lack of an elevator to the top floor made hard work of carrying suitcases
Review 77:Very friendly and helpful staff. Received an upgrade to a sea-view room. Very good breakfast.
Review 78:The mattress wasn't too comfortable -
Review 79:Excellent breakfast selection - very pleasant and efficient staff - all areas - restaraunt - bars and lounges very comfortable - very relaxing atmosphere all round - the room was lovely as was the sea view !
Review 80:Had to wait for some-one to check-out before we could find space on car park.
Review 81:Excellent location, comfortable clean room with sea view. The Bath Hotel is large enough for us to be inconspicuous, yet small enough for meticulous personal attention if required. Wonderful full english breakfast.
Review 82:Bit of a rabit warren. Room was well appointed but took a long time up stairs and along coridors - probably why it was so cheap.
Review 83:Located in a charming waterside village with surroundings that shouted out to be explored. Lots of local interest. Excellent breakfast and very good value.
Review 84:Shower awful (room 21): impossible to figure out or control temp, flow, tap vs shower; erratic temp and flow. V. slow to get hot water in sink; unusual and unlabelled hot vs. cold. Free room upgrade from superior, but still somewhat cramped. No lift (we were on 2nd of 3 floors); maze of corridors and stairs. V. limited TV channels.
Review 85:Location; sea view; convenience; free parking; all staff; meals (breakfast and dinner in restaurant; dinner in bar). Bay window nice, albeit wavy distorting glass; needed drawable nets.
Review 86:room generally dated, not proper shower... more shower hose/mixer, and very limited (but free) parking.
Review 87:excellent breakfast, room clean, good location, friendly staff.
Review 88:Nothing
Review 89:Has to go down as 1 of the best breakfasts we have had in a hotel. Great choice of cereals, fruit juices and fresh fruit salad.cooked breakfast had everything you might want. Also fish and continental options.
Review 90:Sink in bedroom ¬ in toilet, but not much of a problem.
Review 91:COMFORTABLE, THE STAFF, BAR PRICES BEST IN LYNMOUTH. EXCELLENT BREAKFASTS. OVERLOOKING THE HARBOUR & CENTRAL. VALUE FOR MONEY.
Review 92:Although the room was extremely comfortable, the location was quite difficult to reach, as my husband is suffering with a knee problem and struggled with the luggage up 40 stairs!
Review 93:We stay here every year and it never disappoints. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, the food is fantastic and we always look forward to coming back.
Review 94:Hard to moan at anything at the reduced rate of £40... although given the other comments about breakfast I wasn't blown away by the quality but there was certainly a big portion
Review 95:Excellent customer service... great location
Review 96:Car parking was a bit tricky but was ok
Review 97:Staff, the breakfast was amazing.Room was clean and large with a good view. The staff made it we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Review 98:No sink in the bathroom...it was in the bedroom!
Review 99:Superb location in the centre of Lynmouth. Lovely room with beautiful views of the harbour and sea. Clean room with plenty of space. Very friendly staff and great facilities in the hotel. Nice lounge and good bar for casual dining as well as a more formal restaurant. Good selection of breakfast foods.
Review 100:Could not get an evening dinner due to staff barbecuing out front (had been made aware of by email before stay) and tried to get a coffee from bar at 21.45 but coffee machine had already been washed up. no parking available at hotel had to pay and then move car again at 18.00 and try to find another space out on roadway
Review 101:Room was very nice, good size and a great view
Review 102:Lovely helpful staff, fantastic breakfasts. I've been going to lynmouth on holiday for many years, but never stayed in the Bath before. It's where I will be staying in future.
Review 103:We particularly liked the friendliness of the staff. This is the second year running that we (myself, my wife and grand daughter) have stayed at the Bath Hotel and we would certainly go back there again. The range of food from its two restaurant areas makes it ideal for families on any budget. Its proximity to the shops and the sea couldn't have been better.
Review 104:The lack of porterage and having to ascend an 20 step staircase to our bedroom .Certainly not a hotel for disabled persons
Review 105:we liked everything about the hotel and the courteous staff
Review 106:I feel the standards have dropped...service could have been better, for the price...you can get better.
Review 107:Stayed here a few times over the years...and always happy with the service and standards. Location is the best in the area.
Review 108:We were on the third floor which was a bit of a climb up the stairs. I think we would request second floor next time so we still have the view but one less flight of stairs.
Review 109:The staff were friendly, Breakfasts and Dinners were well cooked and presented. Comfortable bed and bathroom very clean. A lovely location overlooking the sea. Will certainly return..
Review 110:Wouldn't say I disliked anything, but the reception desk area needs an update. However, the staff are very welcoming.
Review 111:The location and the rooms are lovely! The breakfast is absolutely perfect with lots of choice.
Review 112:Limited parking, but free parking overnight just across the road, so not really a problem.
Review 113:Breakfasts were plentiful and extremely good. Catered for vegetarians without hesitation. Room beautifully clean and remained at that standard throughout our stay and we had a sea view, and weren't guaranteed this, so lovely surprise. Staff were excellent and extremely friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Wouldn't hesitate in booking another stay there and would highly recommend to anyone.
Review 114:Shower didn't function very well.parking a bit tight only a few spaces available
Review 115:Lovely hotel.great setting by harbour.nice sea view from room.excellent breakfast
Review 116:Had to run water at least 10 mins to get a hot shower!
Review 117:Our 'mid range' room was very nice with good view out of window. Spacious and nicely furnished. Hotel very convenient to harbour, shops, bars and restaurants.
Review 118:We had to bath as the shower wasn,t very efficient and it was a haul with bags to the topfloor.
Review 119:The Bath Hotel is ideally situated opposite the harbour in beautiful Lynmouth. We had a top floor room that was spacious with a glimmer of sea.Quiet and close to town facilities.
Review 120:Staff are very friendly. Great position. Great breakfast.
Review 121:Upgraded to a better room at no charge. Very good value for money anyway for single occupation of a double room. great seafront location.
Review 122:Free wifi available but not available in our (superb) top floor room.
Review 123:Stunning location, helpful staff and superb breakfast.
