Reviews for Creggan Court Hotel
Review 1:Shower in ensuite not working the 2nights we stayed had use bath, we did report it but still not fixed when booking out.Complained, did get reduction.
Review 2:Comfortable & warm.Great value room only.
Review 3:Really nice room and very comfy bed. Not a large room but everything we needed. Warm and quiet and allows pets at no extra cost. Very good value for money when we stayed.
Review 4:Noise from the Garage in front of the hotel. you can't open the window at night. Garage Airline and compressor right outside the hotel. I'm left to wonder which was built first, the Garage or The Hotel? Hard to find because the web site doesn't want to tell you they are behind the garage.
Review 5:Comfortable room and bed. Only Bar food but it's lovely. Bar staff where really chatty as where the locals. But maybe turn up the heating?
Review 6:The room was really grubby and old fashioned. The carpet was ripped off the floor in places. It was damp and smelly. Really needed a lick of paint.
Review 7:Staff were friendly and helpful. Good location.
Review 8:We stayed on Friday night and would have loved if there was music but that's not a criticism. We cay stay on a Saturday night next time as we know ye have music that night
Review 9:The staff were so pleasant and helpful Food was excellent Service great. Decor and seating in bar very nice
Review 10:the hotel in general was cold breakfast was slow dinning tables not set up fully I spent a while trying to get everything before starting my breakfast cups cutlery etc
Review 11:You need a car, otherwise rip-off taxi fare from centre of town
Review 12:Top notch local staff. They give a proper irish welcome. Not fake in any way, theyre properly trained in hospitality
Review 13:The staff were very friendly, very helpful and made me feel welcome. I couldn't fault the cleanliness. The room was very comfortable and the hotel is in a very good location.
Review 14:Room was too hot, 5 euro extra per person for breakfast delivered to the room and it was freezing cold. Wrapped in tin foil rather than the tin metal covers you would see in any other hotel.....
Review 15:Slow wifi. Rooms could do with a bit of a revamp to make them more modern. Breakfast was just ok
Review 16:Staff very helpful and friendly. Comfortable hotel. Free parking
Review 17:Location was quite far from town, a good 5 min drive. I was on my own with my 1 year old and there was 4 sets of heavy fire doors to navigate with a buggy and bags and nobody offered to help.
Review 18:Nice hotel, would recommend
Review 19:We couldn't stay longer
Review 20:From checkin to checkout, everything perfect, staff excellent and very friendly, food was delicious and great portions, When having a drink in the bar, we remembered we had left a bag in the car, and left our drinks to go to the car to collect it, as we approached the car a staff member ran up to us and handed my partner a €20 note, she had dropped on the floor where we were seated, Recommend the Creggan and their lovely friendly staff. 110 per cent
Review 21:My room was by the car park & it was noisy all night. Someone was revving their car engine for more than hour , it started at 3 am & ruin my sleep:( also the shower did not work & had to take a bath instead. But overall it would have been good if it wasn't for that noisy car outside.
Review 22:The location suited me as it was 5 mn walk from work. Staff was nice & the room was spotless
Review 23:Nothing to dislike.... And been there a fee times now....
Review 24:Loved the staff whom helped us with local knowledge of things to do for toddlers.... And the food was good and the hotel was baby friendly.... Perfect....
Review 25:Room to the front facing the garage forecourt was very noisy from early Sunday morning. There's no air con & room was stuffy, especially the bathroom.
Review 26:no stand alone shower, a bit cramped in bathroom.
Review 27:food was excellent, best ever apple and berries crumble, great service and switched tv stations on request,
Review 28:staff were 1st class, reception very friendly and efficent, food was exellent, bar service very friendly helpful, overall great staff in this hotel, a pleasure to stay,
Review 29:Room was a little cold.
Review 30:Bed was very comfortable with crisp clean linen, tv had enough channels, good value for money. The pint was a little pricey for a remote location, more people might use it if it was properly priced.
Review 31:The beds were very comfortable, there was a full sized bath with shower. The staff everywhere cared about our comfort. We only stopped off for 1 night but would consider a longer break.
Review 32:The beds were very high which also included a bed topper which moved due to not being properly attached. The topper moved and resulted in me falling out of the bed.
Review 33:Good food and friendly staff.
Review 34:Shower was incredibly slow but I assume this was due to lack of pressure and failure of the previous guest to notify the staff. No face cloth's in the bathroom which I found strange.
Review 35:Room was relaxing, comfy, clean and a suitable size with tea making facilities. Staff at reception were polite.great location for an overnight stop over in the area as its just in off the motorway. This may suit people doing business in the area.
Review 36:Bar Staff member that made such an unfounded remark
Review 37:Staff were v friendly except for som bar staff who Blatantly told me that He Hates Dublin and all to do with it..... When I told Him where I came from(He should keep personal sweeping opinions to Himself)
Review 38:we didn't have breakfast because it was too expensive
Review 39:we booked a twin room by mistake but they did their best to give us a double room instead. Very spacious room, comfy bed large bathroom
Review 40:Although staff excellent Saturday mornings breakfast was a disappointment as there were not enough staff on as a coach party arrived. Sunday made up for it though was perfect
Review 41:Staff were excellent
Review 42:Room to front near entrance so as a Saturday night disturbed by people leaving and/or waiting for taxis
Review 43:Liked the way staff we dealt with were friendly and professional
Review 44:Room needed a little attention. Done fixtures and fittings were old and worn, wifi seemed slow. I didn't have breakfast or room service so can't comment on those
Review 45:Location good, rooms were adequate and free parking is a bonus
Review 46:Its a 'no frills' hotel but fine for families with children. No pool though
Review 47:Brilliant hotel for children - McDonalds, Subway and Dominos outside the door. We were there for the Community Games and it is ideally located for that.
Review 48:Only small problem was wi fi strenght was not great..
Review 49:Location was ideal as we were there for community games. Staff very friendly especially were children were concerned. Very accomadating eg extra bedding camp beds etc. Lovely bar and bright reception area. Would definetely stay again.
Review 50:Located in a busy area but we were aware of this before booking and when travelling this really doesn't matter. It was very peaceful in our room.
Review 51:A really excellent stop over when heading eastwards for our Ferry. A really hearty breakfast with a good choice of food. Clean, comfortable room. Friendly helpful staff. Was much better than some of the Hotels we stayed in and was the same price.
Review 52:Difficult to find tucked in behind a garage, a shop, McDonalds etc! Breakfast was poor. At 9.00am there was little choice and cooked food was cool on cold plates. Not good enough for the money they charge
Review 53:We were passing through and this hotel was convenient
Review 54:Unfortunately we arrived at 7.45pm but no good being served too late no alternatives offered or recommendations. Breakfast very basic plates so cold that the good was cold. Yet your told to watch the hot plates. Same both times staying
Review 55:Good location for the event we were attending. We stayed before and thought we would give it a second chance. The cleaning staff were always very friendly
Review 56:We were staying in a room at the from of the hotel and were woken on first morning very early by Centra getting alarge delivery. Kept awake late on second night by cars outside revving their engines for a couple of hours. That said we enjoyed our stay but would request a room at the back if staying again.
Review 57:Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 58:Asked for a camp bed for the family room when arrived at 3 didn't get it till half 9 that evening. Decor and seating in the eating area/bar not very nice .
Review 59:Friendly staff, very nice breakfast with lovely waiting staff, clean spacious room. nice receptionist.
Review 60:The hotel is near the East-West connecting road. An excellent position for a stop when you travel from Dublin to Galway or the other way around, and want to visit Clonmacnoise. Good equipped rooms, friendly staff. If you don't like to walk for two miles use the car to go to Athlone!
Review 61:Room was very dated tv remote didn't work very well old tv (not flat screen) iron in room was broken not enough easily accessible power sockets shower very old and dirty looking shower head room was not cleaned properly on any of the 4 days we stayed reception staff were not very friendly (no hello or good morning )
Review 62:Location and price
Review 63:The noise from the street as there was construction going on near by.
Review 64:The room was very comfortable, lovely bathroom and very helpful staff. Good location too.
Review 65:This was everything I would have expected and more for such a good price. Very friendly staff and an impeccably clean, comfortable room for me and my doggy.
Review 66:Location is excellent as it's just off the motorway to Cork and the food inn the Granary bar and restaurant is very good and good value for money,
Review 67:I requested a ground floor room due to a sore leg.I didn't get one and it was a long way up to 315 and didn't see a lift.
Review 68:It was very quiet, organised and convenient.
Review 69:the bar foor was great and the waiter was very good he seemed to be doing a lot . but he was well on top of things I think his name was darragh . my stay was nice and as soon as they saw I had a small child with me they got me a cot and the girl that checked me in couldn't be more helpful .I even had a nice chat with the cleaning lady . the staff are so friendly it had to be the best part as I think friendly staff makes for a great environment .
Review 70:The hotel was dreary n lacked warmth needed updating badly. Missed outvon barfood as were not told on regeristration times of meals etc!! Wud b an idea if some sandbos were available after kitchen closed.....just nuts in bar!!
Review 71:The staff were all v nice but d barstaff need training.
Review 72:Food in restaurant cold, tea was cold. toast in morning cold poor selection for breakfast no fruit. porridge requested was just heated water
Review 73:nothing really
Review 74:The noise from the forecourt across from the hotel, it was too warm not to have the windows open :(. Also the bed was very high and I had difficulty getting into it, as I have a disability and had a disabled room I expected the whole room to cater for a disability, also there was no bin in the bedroom, only in the bathroom.
Review 75:The girls who helped me with my luggage were very pleasant and helpful.
Review 76:Room at front of hotel very noisy, not for family with childen, rooms very warm for summer and with window opened noise even worse.
Review 77:Staff lovely,clean rooms,food good.
Review 78:First time stay 2 nights - no record of my online booking on arrival and asked for payment on checkout ?! Second stay - One night stay - First no Wiifi for my work room 220, moved room to 107, had to call reception for annoying loud noise in corridor from cupboard. Tiny bed.
Review 79:Location
Review 80:Wifi not working Lack of sockets in the room and none beside the bed.
Review 81:Location Comfortable bed There was attempts to modernise the rooms but the furniture and bathrooms need some work.
Review 82:The room was very warm. When the window was open I was awoken by trucks reversing outside my window. The curtains were broken so the sun shone in in the morning. There was a footprint on the ceiling and there were cobwebs above the bed.
Review 83:It was cheap.
Review 84:We were leaving at 7.30 although paid for breakfast only we were only offered a ceral and toast no offer of a discount as hot breakfast not served till 7.30 they could have cooked something only 8 people in the breakfast room or at least offered discount otherwise served its purpose traveling from Achill to Dublin
Review 85:The location was so innapropiate. I mean for my needs was so far from the athlone center even was so far from a bus stop. Car is mandatory.
Review 86:The Room was really good. It seems a room of a five star hotel. I wish I could that bed in my house XD
Review 87:theres no reason to comment here!
Review 88:Linda & Lucinda on Reception were exceptional....Ryanagh in the bar was also! Overall the staff were friendly & looked after my every need! The food was a high standard....the room was comfortable...the bed was very comfortable!
Review 89:The room was cold, sticky handles on the drawers, the wallpaper was sellotaped up in the room and the breakfast we got delivered to our room was terrible
Review 90:The granary bar was nice and the staff were friendly
Review 91:Breakfast was quite late if you are staying there for work purposes, I left the breakfast room at 7.30 as no sign of cooked breakfast at that stage as I had an early apointment. Noticed other people getting up and leaving also. Maybe that is the breakfast time there, hadn't checked but bit late for me.
Review 92:Comfortable bed. Good TV. Friendly helpful staff when I checked in. Location.
Review 93:I didnt like that the food menu in the bar finished at 9pm.i think they should serve till 10pm.
Review 94:The bed was very comfortable. room was very nice warm and clean.staff were so helpfull and friendly
Review 95:The bed in the room we were in was quite narrow and I would advise anyone going there to order a twin room - as the beds are narrow.
Review 96:The bar food was very good and the staff were very freindly
Review 97:would have liked hard boiled egg at breakfast also instructions in bathroom as to how to operate shower also beds very high to get into for short people.
Review 98:Good location
Review 99:Although the bed was comfortable the two-teir mattress made the bed very high!!
Review 100:The room was very comfortable and spacious with plenty of facilities, ie, iron, hairdryer, kettle etc.... I was delighted to be able to bring my cat with me. The staff were very friendly and helpful. My friend feels the cold badly (even on hot days!) and a member of staff arranged for a heater to be brought up immediately to heat the room. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was a surprise to find the hotel behind a shopping centre which may not suit everyone but I found the local facilities very useful. The restaurant provided good, reasonably priced food.
Review 101:the matteress on our bed was extremely high, and we could hardly reach the bed side lockers from the bed. Way too high. The room was cold. Only noticed heating on in the evening. No numbers on phone for reception. Not worth €109 room only.
Review 102:clean Bar food
Review 103:Even though I had the heating radiator turn on they must turn them on centrally so it was cold during the night. Also there was a banging noise in the hall WiFi was free but it was too slow to do any work.
Review 104:Staff were nice
Review 105:As above the home made steak burger on your menu no steak bread crumbs as I am a chef myself I know a steak burger would never use your hotel for evening food again
Review 106:The room and your staff
Review 107:Some of the beverages on the tap were not the best.We had to change to bottled beverages.
Review 108:Definitely the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Lovely food.
Review 109:Staff were brilliant, great customer service, great food in bar, bar and reception staff so friendly , great shower, would highly recommend hotel. Great value for money
Review 110:Room a little cold but we were there when it was snowing out. Heating is set to come on at certain times only.
Review 111:Happy with our stay. Beds very comfortable. Handy vending machine in stairwell.
Review 112:The ability to connect to the internet was dreadful & not fit for purpose. One of the important needs I had was to use the internet & this was not possible.
Review 113:generally good, staff excellent.
Review 114:Nothing negative to be honest but then I have stayed here in the past and would highly recommend it for an overnight stop or weekend stay.
Review 115:The location just off the motorway is ideal. The staff are excellent and the bar menu is top notch and great value for money. The wifi works perfectly in the rooms and the rooms are neat and tidy.
Review 116:Restaurant food was extremely poor. Would definitely not eat there again, although would stay overnight. We both ordered a homemade steak burger with salad. I couldn't eat it, but didn't complain because the young girl had been so helpful to me regarding the cinema and it wasn't her fault, she had not cooked the meal. We didn't then eat breakfast there the next morning as a result.
Review 117:A young girl served us in the restaurant and when asked what was on the local cinema offered to print off a list of films from local cinema. She was so helpful and really didn't need to go that far, but deserves a big well done from owners.
Review 118:Minor criticism - the light over the sink in the bathroom didn't work
Review 119:Friendly staff, nice breakfast. The location was very handy for Athlone IT which suited me.
Review 120:When I arrived I had not been allocated a room. Took a little time to sort out. Receptionist was lovely but very loud. Room was grand but the bed was super high.
Review 121:Staff were friendly, Bar was nice. Value for money.
Review 122:Location is 4 miles out, not 2 miles... so every time we left hotel it was €10 for a taxi. Beds too high so anybody with a back problem or over 35 will struggle. I was with my Mum who is 57, she has a disability and found it hard to get up and off the bed. Wifi is very bad.
Review 123:Staff were excellent.
Review 124:A bad smell of sewerage in the room. The hotel is dirty and badly needs a cleaning and painting and renovation.
Review 125:The hotel is well located just of the motorway
Review 126:All good
Review 127:The bar service was excellent as the bar staff insist on bringing the service to you at your table and keep an eye on you to ensure you are not left waiting
Review 128:not great value for money, like I said I paid 90 euro for one night is a bit much for a b and b of this standard.
Review 129:Friendly staff, easy to find and next to everything in athlone...
Review 130:The beds were a bit dangerous, or at least could be!
Review 131:Although the bed (they were new beds apparently) were a bit too curved and could be dangerous for children or elderly people I actually found it quite comfortable... though I like a harder bed anyway. Location was good because of the facilities locally and easy access off the main roads
Review 132:The double bed was very small, room was tiny and cramped with bad lighting, food was very poor, I would not stay here again
Review 133:The receptionist was friendly and helpful
Review 134:No wifi key to be found anywhere in inhouse information booklet. Distance from town also mitigates against the property if travelling other than by car or if having a drink in town
Review 135:Front desk staff pleasant and capable
Review 136:Had to repair window catch to close window fully. One day cleaning staff left window open during the day making the room chilly at first on my return early evening.
Review 137:Easy to find and convenient for National route. Petrol station/convince store close at hand as were fast food restaurants.
