Reviews for Romantic Palace
Review 1:Very lovely idyllic place. We were here for the second time and enjoyed our stay as much as the first time. Our childeren wants to go back again... Staff/ family is very friendly. Food is the best!
Review 2:4 adults in our party. Because the Romantic Palace was advertised by Booking.com as a two bed apartment we choose this hotel. It was only a one bed with 2 beds in kitchen. This was not what we booked. Very disappointing as we had to make food etc in their room. Plus it was the room that was for entering and leaving appartment. No plugs for kettles etc. Each hotel has it's own private beach out front. Romantic palace was not kept very clean compared to the rest. Large rocks and drift wood everywhere. It's the little things! Advertised as free wifi in all areas but we could not get wifi unless you were right by reception and then it was pretty poor. With two older teenagers they had to go to restaurant next door and use theirs. Plus spend money to sit there.
Review 3:Beach location. Food. Traditional Greek evening. Family welcoming. Free sun beds and umbrellas. They will organise a taxi for your arrival and departure.
Review 4:Food was OK, enjoyed food at other restaurants and they were cheaper, the food was more expensive at the Romantic Palace than any of the other restaurants
Review 5:Entertainment was excellent on Greek dance nights. The staff were very friendly and inviting
Review 6:Hard to find a parking place, even near the hotel is a private parking (3 euros/day). Full of mosquitos - there are window curtains but isn't enough (take with you antimosquitos protection spray and use it also for the night sleep). No TV set in the room. Even the room has seaview, this is over the parking view.
Review 7:Excellent position, practically on the beach Excellent food, but the prices are a little bit higher than in other restaurants; every wednesday and friday live greek music. There are many restaurants on the beach and in the village. Free sunbeds on the beach (ask the umbrella from the reception!) Very nice and helpful personel.
Review 8:Beautiful location on the beach-we could watch the amazing sun set from the balcony each evening. Large balcony/terrace with table and chairs and loungers - shaded by a grape vine above. Friendly and hospitable atmosphere. Fridge and tea and coffee facilities in our room. We would return-quite basic but lovely.
Review 9:I didn't really like walking through the restaurant to go to the rooms.
Review 10:Close to the beach Friendly staff
Review 11:Great location, very freindly staff particularly Michael andn his two sons. Great food and Greek evening was also an amazing experience!
Review 12:Bad smell from the kitchens entering in the room during the evening/night.
Review 13:Close to the beach, friendly staff.
Review 14:The beds is very hard:)
Review 15:The owner is a real charming person. He knows what service is. Fantastic welcome
Review 16:Very genuine and service minded family, running the hotel. We liked the greek dance a lot (twice a week). Situated by the beach.
Review 17:Internet more or less nonfunctional.
Review 18:Great friendly service, the hotel restaurant is very good. Highly recommend this hotel.
Review 19:An absolutely wonderful stay for us. We were a group of 4 on holiday and we could not have found a better place. It's literally right on the beach, the room was very nice, the beach itself was beautiful, and above all, the staff was phenomenal. It's family run and we were instantly taken in as part of the family. They took wonderful care of us the entire trip. The food they served was absolutely delicious and our only regret is that we didn't get to try everything. This is definitely a place to relax and enjoy life, yet as four twenty year olds, we still had a blast. I would highly recommend staying here and getting to know the family as they will take great care of you. I look forward to returning there myself.
Review 20:Would have preferred a kitchenette in the room, as having to eat out for most meals proves to be very expensive. There are some rooms which have this, but as we didn't book until a few weeks before going, these had already been snapped up, so we had to make do with cereal & bread, etc. for breakfast, & salads for any other meals, but chose to enjoy the great choice of restaurants throughout Aghios Gordios!
Review 21:The room was spacious, as was the (shared) terrace, which had room for a large table, 2 chairs & 2 sunloungers. Sea view, slightly obscured by grapevine growing overhead & around the terrace (luckily, no wasps!). Room & terrace cleaned every day, with regular change of towels & linen. Only an electric kettle & fridge in our room, with 2 cups & saucers, 3 various glasses & a couple of pieces of cutlery, although the owners very willingly provided us with anything extra that we needed, e.g. wine & beer glasses. Food in restaurant was good & mainly freshly prepared (be prepared for a wait for some dishes, which are cooked to order). If required, food can be ordered as a "take-away" to be eaten in your room or on the beach, or as a picnic if touring the island for the day. Greek music & dancing twice a week, which starts after most diners have been catered for, anytime after, say, 9.30 - 10 o'clock. If you're in more of a hurry to eat, it's recommended that you get there by around 7.30, before the crowds arrive for the music. A well run family business, with ready smiles from them all. Free sunbeds & parasols for their customers on the beach, right in front of the hotel, saving around 7 euros a day. We contacted Anna via email before leaving the U.K. to give her our e.t.a., & flight details, & she arranged for a taxi to meet us at the airport (cost 30 euros), which was cheaper than jumping into a taxi waiting outside arrivals. Bus into Corfu Town was 2.20 euros each way, but check the timetable, as the buses aren't that regular - 9.15, 10.00 ..... then 1.45, for example. Tickets to be bought from Gee Bees Supermarket next to the bus stop next door, NOT on the bus! We caught the 10 o'clock bus, which was packed, & many passengers had standing room only. There's also the last bus wich leaves the village at 5 p.m.

Review 25:Michael & his family who own the hotel make you feel like part of the family. Everyone in the restauraunt in the evening gets perfect service & fantastic food. My wife & I have been going there for 5 years, going back there for a short break on my own was like going back to my second home , but in the sun overlooking the beach and wonderful sunsets over the sea. Perfect quiet retreat .
