Reviews for Blackberry Lodge B&B
Review 1:Lovely comfortable rooms, breakfast very good. Short walk to top end of village with two pubs. Longer walk to bottom end of village with further facilities.
Review 2:Breakfast was small ....but delicious !
Review 3:The family room was really comfortable and beautiful, better than most hotels we've taken our children to so far! The Shower is certainly the best!
Review 4:Very hard to see the sign for their road.
Review 5:Comfortable beds, clean, very nice and helpful people. Would stay there again. very close to McGann's and a couple other restaurants too.
Review 6:We had a great stay at Blackberry Lodge. Great location in Doolin - walking distance from most popular pubs, but still out of the hub in a pastoral setting with great views. Pearse gave us a very warm and friendly welcome and he cooks a great breakfast. The rooms are lovely - large, bright, airy, large windows with great views, and modern decor. Will definetely stay here again next time.
Review 7:The only downside to this property was the very narrow lane with small branches and bramble hanging a bit into the lane you had to drive down to reach it. It wasn't a big downside-narrow lanes are common in Ireland.
Review 8:This was our first night in Ireland, and we enjoyed our stay. Staff/owner was very pleasant and helpful. I liked how everything matched in the room, and there was a very helpful notebook with loads of local tips and information. The room was very clean, wifi was readily available and the town is very close by. Great little B&B!
Review 9:It's a walking distance to the pubs but the way is not so nice to do in the dark. But it's still the best place that we've been in!
Review 10:The room was great! It was so clean and cozy. The shower was great! The staff was wonderful!
Review 11:breakfast was a bit weak , the fry wasnt great ,good selection of other food though , a small bit noise y walls seemed a bit thin could here the person next door taking a shower at 6 in the morning
Review 12:good location, good clean and comfortable room , nice owner close to pubs and resturents,
Review 13:Not much, for what you get you would barely get a dinner for one at the shelbourne.
Review 14:The Location in Doolin was perfect, owned by a young family, less then a 5 minute walk to downtown Doolin. The house was perfect, very clean, great view, great host, fresh towels, couldn't fault the breakfast, and the host was so accommodating (gave us a 10 minute review of the area and all the things one can see - like having a guide but no charge), so much so that when we were stuck for a lift the next day even he offered us a lift to pick up our car. To me and my wife its the little things that count. Not many b and b's that are better.
Review 15:Wonderful B&B closely located to C. of Moher. They were very friendly. They invited us to use the breakfast room to have some food in the evening. Everything was very clean and new, and the shower was fantastic. The kids also played in the outside playground. Breakfast was very good.
Review 16:As with almost all B&Bs, UHT milk (yuk! ...why not offer Coffee Complement or Powdered Milk as an alternative). No coffee/tea making facilities in our room.
Review 17:Rural location. Modern, spacious. Excellent bed. Coffee (beans ground for each cup).
Review 18:There is nothing bad to say at all
Review 19:There is nothing bad to say about blackberry lodge, Pearce is helpful friendly, the best was the best bed I've ever slept in, the room was beautiful so clean and comfortable, the breakfast was made fresh to order and the location is brilliant. The b&b is better than many 4* hotels we've stayed in and we are definitely booking again.
Review 20:Great place in the middle of idyllic countryside, within walking distance from the village centre. New, clean house with spacious rooms. Super friendly staff. Ideal for families.
Review 21:What a lovely place to stay! Loved all of it from our first meeting with Martin to the wonderful views over the fields at breakfast ( rainbow included!). Close to the pubs in Doolin and a great location for exploring the Cliffs of Mohr and the Burren.
Review 22:My only complaint is that we had such a crazy travel schedule that we could only stay one day!
Review 23:Immaculate property and pristine room. Host was friendly and knowledgeable. Pleasure to stay there.
Review 24:The family room at Blackberry Lodge is our favorite room of all the places we stayed in a 3 week trip to Ireland and Belgium. The family room is spacious, bright and cheery with a lovely view from skylights and several windows into fields. It has a huge bathroom and several large closets. We stayed 4 nights and were so happy we did.
Review 25:It was like home from home, one of the best holidays I ever had, the staff could no do enough for us and the place is absolutely spotless, would highly recommend this B&B
Review 26:The bedroom was wonderful: clean, new, spacious, with a beautiful view. The ensuite bathroom was also very clean and well-kept. The proprietor and staff were friendly and accommodating: I even got a ride to the bus stop! I would stay here again if I'm back in Doolin :-)
Review 27:First encounter at checking in greeting was civil, but lacked friendliness. The morning team organising breakfast were slow and seemed somewhat in a dither with three tables to attend too. They were not well presented in terms of tidiness and cleanliness which was a little off putting sadly. The food was cooked only OK, dripping in oil. Not the best breakfast in Ireland.
Review 28:Great location, very quiet nights stay. Could walk to the 2 closest pubs for dinner which was very convenient, Rooms were spacious and very clean, as were the bathrooms.
Review 29:The facility is newly renovated. Walking distance to a couple of great pubs. Pierce was so nice even got us duck tape for our luggage! Gave us great advice on what to do in Doolin.
Review 30:EXTREMELY CLEAN. Huge breakfast cooked to order. Great location, close to pubs and restaurants, yet set away from them on a farmlike setting. Nice sized rooms.
Review 31:No bad experiences but would like to have had breakfast included and be careful turning at correct sign to find facility. It is off main road about !/2 mile.
Review 32:Very clean facilities. Memory foam bed. Great shower.
Review 33:What a wonderful stay we had here. The beautiful pictures do it no justice; it is even more beautiful, clean and relaxing than portrayed. You will be missing out if you don't stay here!!
Review 34:I overhead the location while booking, it is quite far from Kinsale. So it is not a good plan to have dinner in Kinsale and go back (that was my plan ;) ) but we had a very nice dinner in a pub, advice by the hotel... I just cannot remember the name though. Good Seeview and seefood for dinner.
Review 35:The view is very nice and the host is very nice. She does not talk too much for being polite, but for questions she gives good informations an advice. The food is fresh cooked and very delicious.
Review 36:The host, Pearse, has renovated this property himself, to an exemplary standard. The rooms are beautifully appointed. Great host, great rooms, great breakfast.
Review 37:Lovely b&b.Very modern and clean The owner made us feel very welcome and couldn't have been more helpful, would totally recommend it to anyone visiting doolin.
Review 38:Having no one at the premises the owner just coming to meet you and then come back to cook breakfast. The curtains in the room very thin letting the light in the rooms. Not having coffee/tea freely available as either the water and milk ran out.
Review 39:The bedroom and shower were fine.
Review 40:Breakfast was average quality and not overly plentiful on the morning we did have it. I really hate places stopping breakfast too early in the morning (10AM). To come down at 10.20 A.M. on the morning after a wedding to be told that breakfast could no longer be gotten by a member of staff was extremely annoying. If you're in the tourism industry then accommodate your guests. We weren't asking the world. Will definitely go back to Doolin. Debatable I'd come back to this B&B.
Review 41:The property was clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower was well maintained and of a large size. The staff were quite friendly while parking facilities and Wi-Fi will please all guests.
Review 42:Without a car it's a little off the beaten path.
Review 43:Pierce(owner) is helpful and friendly and makes stunning breakfast including pancakes and Fremch toast. Family ro has the best view.
Review 44:Remember to have a light from mobile phone or small torch for walk home from pub. Its not far to walk but last little bit, can be very dark.
Review 45:Very friendly staff, 5 min walk to pub. Lovely rooms. Spotlessly clean. Quiet, had great nights sleep. Nice breakfast, and choices. Real coffee offered in breakfast room throughout the day and fresh fruit.
Review 46:Because of wooden floors the noise really travels and unfortunately people had a tendency to slam doors which was really annoying,
Review 47:Great, light and airy and very comfortable
Review 48:As there was no lounge an extra chair in the room would be appreciated.
Review 49:The breakfasts were delicious with lots of variety. The coffee was excellent and always available.
Review 50:This is a good B&B on the way into town. Breakfast was a full Irish breakfast which enough to last me the day. Access for the hire car was suitable and the location was easy to find and well signed. Well run by a lovely couple.
Review 51:Blackberry Lodge was well located to the village of Doolin and other sites in the Burren. The house was almost brand-new and very clean. Pearse was warm and outgoing, eager to answer our questions and chat about Ireland. Helpful with directions as well.
Review 52:This B&B was perfect. Friendly host. My room was super clean, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Also within walking distance to the pubs. I'm definitely staying here again when I come back to Doolin
Review 53:The house is new, well-furnished and insulated Loved the large ceiling windows, giving a great view of the stars at night and the Irish countryside in the morning. Wish we had more days to stay!
Review 54:Brand new house near to the great music venues of Doolin. Pearce was lovely, the breakfast was great, and it was so nice to be in the countryside in such comfort.0
Review 55:the only bad poit is a little far from town centre.only that one.
Review 56:i stayed 1th floor there are two roof window, bedroom and bathroom.i loved it. bathroom have shawer booth and also bathtab.clean and comfortable.
Review 57:We could only stay one night....would love to have stayed longer!
Review 58:Self-service tea & coffee 24/7....and it's complimentary! No pressure put on us about breakfast in the morning. If we had it we paid, if not we didn't. I liked that.
Review 59:Host (pierce) was super nice and on top of his service he provided us with info about local bars and pubs as well as sight seeing tips. Why one word - excellent!
Review 60:We cannot say enough great things about Blackberry Lodge! We traveled for 2 weeks in Ireland, staying in a different B&B pretty much every night and this was absolutely our favorite. We were so comfortable it felt like we were staying at a friend's house. So comfortable and clean, the rooms are modern and decorated well, the bed was SO comfortable, linens were nice. Pearce the host and owner was very welcoming and warm, knowledgeable on the area and excursions around, was there is two minutes upon arrival to check us in. (He has an intercom set up on the front door that calls his phone so you can tell him you have arrived.) The breakfast was delicious and so filling. Wifi was great and worked in all areas of the house. It is just a short walk down the street to the popular pubs for great music and atmosphere. Our only sadness was that we weren't staying longer here!
Review 61:Nothing.
Review 62:I was warmly welcomed when I arrived at Blackberry Lodge. I had a choice of rooms so was excited to have the ground floor. The bed was amazing, in a lovely large room. Bathroom was spotless with an enjoyable shower. Breakfast was lovely. Couldn't find a fault. Newly built by the owner this is definitely worth the money.
Review 63:You need a torch to go out at night.
Review 64:The owner was very kind and friendly. The Irish breakfast that he prepared was fantastic. It's a new house and was clean everywhere. I had a comfortable sleep at night. A little bit far from the bus stop. But in a walking distance there are 2 comfortable pubs.
Review 65:Nothing. All was rated either Excellent of Very Good.
Review 66:Clean, bright, comfortable and a very good breakfast. A 5 minute walkinto town (500m), and McDermott's Pub. Soooo quiet and relaxing. Afew minutes drive to the dock for the cruise to the Cliffs of Moher.Highly recommend. Blackberry B&BS was the sixth we stayed at on ourIrish travels and clearly challenged for the top spot.
Review 67:Nothing. In our two week visit to Ireland, this was our favorite place we stayed.
Review 68:We spent our first night in Ireland here, and it was perfect for two tired jet-lagged travelers. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, clean and tastefully furnished, and it was a little ways away from the main road which made it quiet and peaceful. Pearce was a very nice host, and we really enjoyed our breakfast in the sunny dining room.
Review 69:I prefer tea/coffee in the room rather than a central station.
Review 70:Great advice on where to walk and entertainment. We were very late checking in and it was no problem. Liked that there was an option not to have breakfast. Location very good plenty to do if you did not have a car. Very clean and comfy.
Review 71:Absolutely nothing.
Review 72:Love our stay here on the edge of the village of Doolin. Met some interesting guests and enjoyed the hospitality of Ursula and others. Beautiful to sit outside first thing in the morning and take in the sights and sounds of rural Ireland.
Review 73:Wonderful place to stay, spotless room, excellent breakfast, bed was amazingly comfy. Pearse was a great host who could not do enough for you. Would definitely stay there again and cannot recomend it enough
Review 74:Happy to have the flashlight app on my iPhone because the walk back down the lane in the dark after dinner was challenging. No street lamps. Would strongly suggest that a torch / flashlight be offered to those guests opting to walk to / from dinner.
Review 75:We loved everything about this B&B. Owner super friendly & helpful. Room spacious and modern. Bed and linens good quality and extremely comfortable. Power shower outstanding. Freshly cooked breakfast best we had. The location was good for us as we had already visited other areas in Doolin before checking in and were happy to walk to a local restaurant for a good dinner and live music.
Review 76:We love everything about this B&B.
Review 77:A wonderful place to stay - the house is comfortable and clean, and Pearse is a great host. Breakfasts are great, with a very good choice. The location is just off the main road, so very quiet at night, but is close to pubs for evening meals and music. This is a place we will keep returning to, and would highly recommend.
Review 78:Nothing
Review 79:Just a great B&B close to great pubs for Irish music and food. Also a good location for the Cliffs of Moher. A really nice room and a really comfy bed.
Review 80:We were warmly greeted by Ursula and met Pearse at breakfast (made to order!) the next morning. Our room was spotless and the location was perfect for exploring the entire area-Cliffs of Moher,Doolin,Aran Islands,Burren-don't miss the drive around Blackhead!..stunning views! We were just a 5 minute walk to some great pubs with 'Trad' music. We would definitely return!
Review 81:It's not so much for not liking, but shower tile start showing signof bacteria and mold growth. Will need a good cleaning and professionalantibacterial treatment pretty soon. Main double bed wss nice hardness, but second bed was very soft for me.
Review 82:It could be a bit challenging to find where it is, as it is on smallroad away from main road and the sign is rather small. But once youfind it, you will never miss again. Room was cosy with skylights - thatwas really nice in heavily raining days. The skylights gave enoughlight. Room was clean and drinking water in a pitcher was provided.Electric kettle was in dining room and if you run out of drinkingwater, you will need to ask for as faucet in the bathroom doesn'tprovide drinking water.
Review 83:I don't think I can find anything I didn't like.
Review 84:Standard of accommodation was a1. The views were magnificent. The owner was very informative, friendly and helpful.
Review 85:Liked everything
Review 86:This is a lovely property set in fields if endless green pastures with grazing cattle and beautiful vistas. Sparkling and pristine. Comfortable beds. Power showers. Very chic. We didn't take breakfast but appreciated the tea and coffee - making offer in the breakfast room. Very quiet. Quite isolated. Apparently very safe with no need for any type of home security installations. Location very central as we visited Mohar on the first day and then set off toward Dingle. Such gorgeous countryside.
Review 87:spiders! we had quite a few to contend with

Review 99:Spotless room, great location, excellent breakfast
Review 100:It was recently appointed and the standard and decor superb! Lovely spot out of the busy part of Doolin but easy walking distance to excellent Eateries. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Review 101:Located in a beautiful peaceful setting with modern, clean facilities, the rooms are spacious yet luxuriously comfortable. You will have a great night's sleep!! The owners of the B&B were incredibly welcoming and friendly and made you feel at home. They also provided a variety of information and recommendations of places you could visit locally. There was also access to tea and coffee facilities which were available at any time during the day. There was also free wifi. This place was a little piece of heaven and only five minutes walk to Doolin. There was a good variety of breakfasts which were delicious and set you up for the day. I cannot praise this establishment and the hosts enough. They have a wonderful place and I would be back in a heartbeat.
Review 102:When we first arrived during check-in hours nobody was there and we did not have a phone to call. However, after a quick trip into town and a call from the tourist center everything was squared away. A minor hiccup.
Review 103:This is a fantastic location for exploring the Cliffs of Moher. My husband stayed here for one night on our honeymoon and we had a HUGE room. The place is very new so everything is very clean and updated and the beds are so comfortable. Very well done. Even the bathroom was huge and the shower was amazing. Easy walking distance to the pubs. Pierce, the owner, was super nice and helped us figure out which route to take the next morning on our way out of time. We would totally stay here again.
Review 104:No complaints.
