Reviews for Maltezos Hotel

Review 1:None I can think of...

Review 2:The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is family run and I was made to feel at home and welcomed. The pool is a nice feature and the bus stop for Corfu town is a short walk away as is Gouvia beach

Review 3:the staff were bordering on rude, they certainly don't know the meaning of hospitality. the breakfast was pretty bad, tinned fruit and undrinkable tea. The cereals were nice.

Review 4:the cleaning service was excellent - towels and sheets were changed daily. Room was good - air conditioning was included.

Review 5:Good location near to bars, restaurants. Close to bay. Very friendly helpful owners, nice pool Good breakfast, near to Corfu town. Very reasonable price, clean.

Review 6:We are a group of five guys who stayed in Maltezos hotel for one week (12/08-19/08) and are very satisfied about this experience. This small hotel is very nice, intimate and confirtable! The owner, Spyros, has been so friendly with us, he suggested us lots of beautiful places to visit during the day and also some good restaurants. He helped us to rent a car for a good price too! A very kind person. The rooms and the living room were big and confortable, the breakfast good, even though not so varied, the pool very nice and clean. The position is excellent! The hotel is very close to Corfù town and the airport, but also to Dasia and Ypsos where you can find some clubs so cool and have good time!! In addition, you have bus stops reachable in 2 minutes, restaurants, disco bar and markets in 5 minutes. The bay near the hotel is good, but is not the top! If you want to see the best beaches, I suggest you to rent a car and visit all you can, you don't regret it! The hotel is a real strategic point to reside and visit the whole island!

Review 7:Just one aspect that can be improved:the breakfast, even it has everything what you need it might have been more varied from a day to another. 2. The swimmingpool closes as at 20 till morning ....but for the ones willing to swim in the night there is always the sea open:) as the owner suggested and it seems that this is a rule for Corfu cause I didnt saw any pool open in the night.

Review 8:The best value for the money!Very clean and very well placed near the touristic center of the Gouvia, supermarket and beach.I totally recomand it for a low budget journey! Gouvia also is at 10 min by car from Corfu town and at 20 minutes from Paleokastritsa.I hadnt seen another hotel that offers all those facilities and with such a good placement and good price in Gouvia!I totally recomend it!The owner speaks very well english and this is a biiiiig plus. The rooms were recent furnished and the AC was a blesing!

Review 9:The hotel has a small snappy dog. It's not vicious but caution is needed around toddlers. No high chair available for toddlers.

Review 10:Spacious clean room. Balcony adequate. Swimming pool had a nice children's area. Clean pretty hotel. Close to the bus stop and main strip. Short bus ride into CORFU town centre. Nice continental breakfast.

Review 11:Lack of vegetables and fresh fruit on breakfast.

Review 12:Really cozy hotel with familly atmosphere. Nice, clean room. Excellent pool as for kids as adults. Nearby beach and city center (taverns, bars and restaurants). We enjoy our stay, werent disappointed. Highly recommend:)

Review 13:May be some animation))

Review 14:It is really very good hotel , especially if your budget is limited. First of all because of the location of the hotel it is as near to the sea as also near about 2 minutes till the bus station. And if you are traveling without the car you certainly need to take a bus and travel all the island. Second - is the price which was very available))). Also It looks like more than two stars hotel))) The owners of the hotel, especially Mr.Spirus were very kind to us.

Review 15:The wifi was very fast and good only one day was not working

Review 16:Everything was good and very quet perfect for relaxing and the beach is very close not crowded 2 minits from the hotel , the swiming pool was very nice the owner is very kinde and helpfull about everything :)

Review 17:All the smoking - but this is Greece

Review 18:Redecorated and upgraded earlier this year so looks good especially the pool. Very convenient for the vibrant, small town of Gouvia

Review 19:There was a very strange smell in the hallway in the morning for a short time, and we were surprised that we couldn't take towels to the pool.

Review 20:We were at a point in our very long holiday where a pool, pool bar was much appreciated. Unfortunately, our visit coincided with the referendum and a week of capital controls...so a few items of food and drink weren't available.

Review 21:Wife was slow

Review 22:The hotel is small family run, so genuine service... quite, 10 min away from the corfu center by bus.. In the beautiful village of gouvia.. breakfast was good, and room was always clean..

Review 23:We needed a cheap and cheerful hotel for a one night stop that could cater for 3 adults and 4 children. The Maltezos was perfect. Friendly and comfortable with a good pool (with diving board) for the kids. You can easily walk to the fab beach, restaurants and town.

Review 24:A peaceful, spotlessly clean, family run hotel in a great locationdown a flower filled lane but right in the centre of the village andclose to the tavernas, shops and beach. Good for buses and thesupermarket too. Run by the owners - a wonderful Greek couple Spirosand Lula and their enchanting daughter Maria - who make you feelgenuinely welcome. The pool is the cleanest I have ever seen and isset in lovely lush gardens with a lemon tree. Breakfast is plentifuland taken by the pool with lovely views over the wooded hills. Roomsare spacious with loads of storage, good air-con and larger than usualfridges which run very quietly. En-suites are, like all the hotel, completely spotless. Most importantly we felt very welcome on both ourstays this summer. Walking distance of Gouvia Marina so also good forvisiting sailors. Unbelievably good value for money. Extremelyrelaxing - will definitely go back to beautiful Corfu if only to stayat lovely little Hotel Maltezos.

Review 25:Oldfashioned rooms. The pillows were very hard and the airconditioned very noisy.

Review 26:I liked that the airconditioned worked. The staff was helpful and friendly. The pool was nice, it had a nice temprature and a divingboard.

Review 27:Whilst able to finalise payment with a credit card, cash payment would have been preferred - so a little awkward when it came to paying the bill. Talk to Spiros in advance re settlement.

Review 28:The Maltezos is a family run hotel, far removed from the crowds of a large commercial resort - but value for money. Rooms are much smaller & more basic than what they appear on the www, but they are comfortable & very very clean. And when you have an island to visit - who needs more than somewhere to sleep & shower. Continental breakfast was fresh & plentiful, wifi was free and working most of the time & the pool was spotless, inviting & large! This was true to pictures on www, as was the well stocked bar. Spiros was welcoming & helpful - even given our late arrival time - and, over the next few days, happy to provide suggestions & offer information when asked. With a supermarket across the road (for bottled water & sundries), a pebbled beach & a variety of eateries less than 5 minute walk away, & a bus stop outside (for the 20-30 minute blue bus trip into Kerkyra - Corfu town - or to catch a green bus heading north on the island itself) the Maltezos in Gouvia was a great location.

Review 29:Made to feel most genuinely welcome by dear Spiros and his very lovely family who own and run this charming garden Hotel. Great location down a quiet tree & flower filled lane just 120m from all the tavernas and shops. Cashpoint and good supermarket nearby. Beach just a very short stroll away. All the hotel absolutely spotless and the (large) pool is the cleanest I have ever seen and set in lovely gardens. Rooms simple, clean, comfortable, spacious with huge built-in wardrobes/storage, aircon v good, fridges quiet and large, ensuite showers great. Particularly liked the quirky vintage touches like the glass light shades - touch of style! Other guests were a nice mix of nationalities, both couples and very nice families. Breakfast simple, tasty and plentiful eaten at wonderful poolside tables with views over stunning wooded hills. VERY underpriced for what you get and in comparison to other hotels in the area. We stayed here for a couple of days on either side of a week's yacht charter (it is walking distance of Gouvia Marina) and it made our holiday very relaxing and special. Would recommend doing this to other sailors. Will definitely return to beautiful Corfu if only to stay and chill out at the delightful Hotel Maltezos.

Review 30:That not all rooms were so good as ours. Our friends bathroom (the ventilation) gave on to the main stains where everybody passed by all day long. Not so reassuring if you need a moment on your own.

Review 31:Good position for visiting the rest of the iceland (both if you have a care and if you want to take to bus). Service an price matched perfectly. The hotel was clean and everything worked well. The manager was always very helpful if we had questions. It is a perfect hotel for families with children (small and teenagers). Pool+pool area was also very clean.

Review 32:The wi-fi didn't work in our room on the 1 floor, only on the ground floor.

Review 33:Family-run hotel, with a very good location to the beach, to Gouvia and close to the blue and green bus-stop on the mainroad. Beautiful poolarea with bar and a shower. Free wi-fi. The room had air-condition, tv, good shower and a fridge. All you could need!

Review 34:No negative comments.

Review 35:Great location to explore Corfu, both the blue and green buses run at the top of the road. Gouvia town centre only a quick walk from the hotel which is handy for lunch and dinner etc. Friendly and helpful staff, one of the best places we have stayed in for a while.

Review 36:The owner is very friendly and wear beautiful shirt with dragons and prepare delicious margaritas The atmosphere is vintage and looks like to be in a motel in L.A.

Review 37:The location was perfect, bus stop around the corner and only 2 min walk to the center and beach. Staff is very helpfull and gives you a warm welcome no mather what time you arrive.

Review 38:The premises are undoubtedly in need of some refurbishment but the proprietors are aware of this and make up for it with the facilities they provide and their enthusiasm

Review 39:We would heartily endorse the comments of Colin (Norwich). Very clean and well run. The hotel is excellent value for money, in a very convenient area close to the beach. The bus service into the centre of Corfu makes it an ideal place for visiting the old town. We have no hesitation in recommending it - a very cheerful proprietor and his wife

Review 40:We were forced to change for a lower category room the last day without any compensation. The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming but his wife was unpleasant. Wifi is not well spread through all the rooms.

Review 41:Ideal location close to the bus stop and amenities Nice swimming pool rooms are well equipped

Review 42:No kettle in room

Review 58:Friendly family and staff, lovely pool and bar area. Good variety of food and drinks for breakfast and well-stocked bar. The hotel is well-situated, being close to bus stops and a short walk to the main streets of Gouvia and the beach. Would recommend it to friends,

Review 60:Spiros and family made us feel very welcome. Always on hand if you had any problems although we did not have. Location of bus stops were excellent. Hotel close to amenities in gouvia. Would recommend hotel to others? Pool very clean and comfortable size

Review 61:the owner of the hotel was very helpful and friendly. We felt very welcomed when we arrived at the hotel. The room was a good size for the three of us and was cleaned daily. The pool was also lovely and relaxing. The hotel was very central to the local restaurants. we will defo be back next year.

Review 62:Very old renovation, poor staff and not polite. The hotel took the payment before the arival which is againts the policy of booking. Very rude staff and poor meal(morning). Dont go there unless u dont find nothing else..

Review 63:Good position, thats all

Review 64:No hair dryer in the room

Review 65:A lovely friendly and personal atmosphere. The pool was a real pleasure, as was the company of the hotel owner. A fantastic base for exploring the more relaxing aspects of Corfu. Even with everything you could want on your doorstep it was quiet and cozy. We felt welcome and well looked after. Would definitely go back.

Review 66:Spiros is an excellent host and a gentleman. Review 68:- Not realy a downside. It's about what you expect: it isn't very modern, but it's not too expensive either!
