Reviews for Bali Reef Divers Tulamben
Review 1:The place has nothing to do when you're not diving. No laundry service, neither bike rental. Fresh fruits in between the dives are only served for more special guests staying in Amed. Extremely boring when you are not diving.
Review 2:The Liberty wreck is right on the door step 3min walking.
Review 3:We could hear all the staff behind our room as if they were in the room. On the main road so you could hear passing mopeds and trucks all night. There was a lot of damp decaying the walls that had sinply been painted over yet continued to crumble onto the floor. When diving we were told to leave our key on top of the door frame, not so safe. The fan in the room wobbled and was so noisy as to make us think it would fall down if we used it. We did not recieve standard PADI dive briefings or get given time to buddy check, which we insisted on doing. You have to walk about 400m in your gear to get to the shore, other dive shops near by take you in a truck.
Review 4:It was very cheap. We have stayed in lovely places for the same price.
Review 5:The 50.000 breakfast is good..... but it isn't included but then again, the bed is only 100.000 so can't expect much at those prices. Then again.....staying in Jemeluk now in own room (Kubuku homestay)for the same amount INCLUDING breakfast. Diving school has cheap dives, 650.000 for 2 dives....
Review 6:Bad wifi, breakfast not included in standard rooms (others have breakfast at the same price for accommodation)
Review 7:Good location, clean rooms, aircon, clean warm pool, fridge bar, hot shower. Shops, dive clubs, restaurants, beach and shipwreck, all in walk distance.
Review 8:They have only one key for dormitory room where supposed to live up to 4 people! It is very unconvenient and not safe, because 1) there is no safe in the room 2) you should always leave the key on the reception when you go somewhere . It is very not safe, unless you are lucky with your neighbours. Expensive restaurant, breakfast is not included. Noisy road next door. To reach the beach you should cross it. One of the staff, the gardener is very annoying with his stupid questions.
Review 9:Clean, new, not crowded, small hotel. Comfortable bunk beds in dormitory room. Hotel have pool.
Review 10:However, what I definitely would not reccomend is the Tulamben accommodation here. I was the only one here for a few nights and as a solo female traveller this wasn't ideal although it was understandable as it was low season and I believe most places were like this, but at this hotel even the staff go home at night! The food served here was average and there is a very nice place 200m down the road that is much better! The massive downside for me and the reason why I would strongly not recommend staying here, especially as a young female traveller, is on my last night when I was on my own there was a Balinese member of staff who was waiting for another traveller to arrive who was due to turn up at around midnight. At around 11pm he knocked on my door and asked if he could come in and lay on one of the bed because he was getting bitten by mosquitoes, as I was in a dorm style room I felt that I could not say no as technically this was shared accommodation. When he came in he then put porn on his mobile and started to pester me! I asked him to leave and he would not until I told him I was phoning the manager, after which he left. I was pretty scared after this and felt extremely vulnerable. The manager was very good when I spoke to him and offered to pick me up and take me to the other hostel but I didn't feel right doing this as I knew another female traveller was due to turn up and then she would also be on her own. The manager promised that he would handle this situation and apologised a lot but I still think that anyone, especially female should know before staying here how that member of staff acted! I hope that it was a one off experience at the accomadtion and probably does not reflect the other member of staffs here but I feel that it is still vital and fair to share this experience!
Review 11:I did my open water PADI here and the course and my instructor were absolutely faultless! Wayan was a fantastic instructor, I felt safe at all times and learnt a lot whilst doing my course! We dived the wall, the coral garden and of course the famous Liberty shipwreck, we saw reef Sharks, giant turtles and countless tropical fish! Wayan will go at a speed to suit the student and my safety was always his priority! I would highly recommend Bali Reef divers for the padi open water course!
Review 12:Road noise.
Review 13:Spent a couple nights in Tulamben instead of Amed to be as close as possible to dive the Liberty Wreck. Nice little hotel (just 3 rooms and a dorm) / restaurant / dive shop. Bali Reef Divers main office is in Amed and they bring their divers here to dive the wreck. Found it very handy, were able to walk down to the water in our wetsuits where the rest of our gear was waiting, then just walk into the water and start diving. Good wifi. Room price sounded cheap (Rp 300,000) but didn’t include bfst so ended up similar to previous places we stayed in Bali. Everything was about average, pool was a nice touch. Convenient choice if your main priority is diving (or snorkelling) the wreck and getting a dive in before all the people from Amed and further out get there.
Review 14:Best place to stay on the island. Ended up extending my trip and never wanted to leave. The staff is amazing! Friendly, knowledgeable, nice. They have trivia, Friday night parties, great bar, great vibe. My favorite island. Boat trips were awesome and fun- as a solo traveler I loved the backpacker vibe, met tons of awesome people here.
Review 15:Google map is totally useless here. It was hard to locate them. A well visible sign would be very useful.
Review 16:The staff is very friendly, i arrived late night and had to wake up the on call reception girl but she was very helpful. Originally i booked for a dorm room but got updated for the same money to a big room. The restaurant is ok, not the best in the area but got good bf before diving.
Review 17:Easygoing, friendly, all you need for little money
